Firstly, I love you guys. I'm housebound, and until Shipt, I was relying on Amazon BEFORE they implemented Pantry and Fresh. Times were rough. My stomach suffered big time.

Secondly, in the past two or three years, I can count on one hand how many bad experiences I've had with Shipt. Unheard of for other similar companies. I started using Doordash around the same time as Shipt.

I no longer use Doordash.

TL;DR: You guys are great! I always tip 20%, more for those that climb on shelves tho I always ask you not to. Just skip it. It ain't that critical. I'll order it next week.

ANYHOW, just expressing my gratitude to you guys, as well as a suggestion. Get a grabber. If you have had a stint in rehab or a nursing home, you might be familiar with this. Mine from rehab is 20 years old in December. I've bought commercial ones—not as good, but still helpful.

Honestly, I don’t stress about it much... but I also don’t work at night very often. I usually shop in a pretty safe area, so it’s not overly concerning when I get an address I’m not familiar with, but if crime were higher in my preferred zones, I’d probably only deliver to people I’d delivered to in the past.

I bought some cheap bags like these. Except the ones I got are a little longer and more rectangular. They're open top so it doesn't look super sketchy. Anyways when I first started doing doubles a lot I took one in to the store with me. Everything from one order goes in the bag, the other in the basket. It helps keep everything straight until you get better at shopping 2 orders. Also helps keep the two separated in the car and when you take stuff to the door.

It had been raining for the last week here, it finally stopped yesterday after about 8-9 days.

I’ve seen people on Facebook talk about basically having a large poncho to cover the tops and bottoms of the cart if you have nothing to put them in.

Only one house didn’t have a covered porch, so I tried to stack things on top of their bottled water and put it on the edges of their doormat and use any and everything space and stacking I could to keep it mostly dry.

I think if you are sending them a picture of their delivery at their door and their groceries are clearly getting rained on then Shipt will forgive if you offered anything like jamietico said about mentioning that it’s raining so their stuff doesn’t get super wet. If you offer it and they say no and it’s clearly downpouring thats def a them issue.

I have these XL insulated bags! It doesn’t usually get super hot where I live but they’re really helpful for carrying paper bags that don’t have handles.

I have this, which is nice to hold grocery bags. I have Costco freezer bags that I use instead but it keeps things from rolling about and losing items in the back.

I used to be part of a group in my area that was buying insulated bags in bulk from a manufacturer. Recently I started using some insulated bags on Amazon. I prefer the Amazon bags. Try these. Remember it’s fully tax deductible as part of the cost of doing business. Note; there are cheaper bags online but these are specifically reusable and biodegradable. They’re legal to use in NJ, and any customers that might be annoyed about you delivering in plastic bags would let it go seeing they’re biodegradable. No worries. This was actually my second cart. I left the old one in an Amazon warehouse. There’s a bigger version of the one I showed you here. It can be used as a flat bed in addition to a hand truck. This is what I should have gotten but opted to get the same one. Silly me

When I have a double, the smaller order goes in the following: the upper basket, I hang a cooler bag from the cup holders on the push bar (meijer carts are awesome for this), and then put larger items on the back section lower rack. The larger order fills up the main basket, and bigger front section of the lower rack. I have larger cooler bag that just sits in the front part of the main basket.
