I have just installed an Atoto F7 7" in to mine it cost me £160 and cannot fault it. Simple system and Carplay and Android Auto work flawlessly.
I just had to change the pin alignment in the ISO harness and then it was plug and play with the facia kit I bought separately.
If you are after something more tablet size, they do a 10" version. I'm assuming you're in the US as most seem to be on here.
Genuinely so impressed with this unit for easily half the price of named brands. Good customer service too
ProClip have one for the Smart that works very well but also costs...
I'm currently using this one - sticks nicely and securely on top of the bump over the radio. I keep the charging cable clipped behind it (plugged into the usb port in the glove box)
One other mod I was going to do is add LED lights inside by the visors. So remove the 12v bulb and replace it with an adapter with wires. The wires connect to a string of LED lights. I didn't do this yet but I did buy everything. Just busy with life.

If you are close to Lisbon, send me a DM and I will gladly help you out (NO COST).
I used these - they've been in the car since Dec 2020 and have worked great since with no issues. The light is nice, even, looks great and is the perfect balance between nice and bright on the road without being blinding to others. Yeah, the LED driver is internal.
The installation is straightforward. You insert the LED module itself into the bulb hole, clamp in in place with the original fixture that the car uses to hold an incandescent bulb, then install a heatsink/fan/driver module onto the back of the clamped LED (push and twist style). From there, two pins connect to the car's wiring. If it lights up - yay! If it doesn't, unplug the car's wiring connector and flip it the other way and plug it back in, and it will light.
One 10'x5' roll did the job, all pieces are hand-cut during the install.
I can't find the same product listing on Amazon right now, but here's the same brand, same size, same product, different color - just to get an idea. Price has gone up since I bought it, too - link
While watching TV, I must have spent an hour or two looking at cargo organizers that will maximize the space, but not prevent using the stock cover or interfere with anything. I finally found one that is 1/2" smaller than the width, and meets right up to the cargo cover. Perfect!! The design itself is nice, with two removable compartment separators and a side bag for permanent things like wipes, small tools, etc. I have no connection with the company and this isn't an affiliate link, just sharing my find.
At Sam's Club you scan your own groceries as you pick them out, and then just leave. So I put this carrier in the cart, scan and pack, and then just put it back into the Smart. Yes, you can do a Sam's/Costco run in a Smart! Some of my friends are shocked by that.
The cooler thing isn't great, and is pretty thin. It fits in the big compartment or can be used stand-alone. I can fit a few cold items from the store in it.

Of course! This is the one. Have been using my first one for over a year with no issues. I have since ordered a couple more just to keep one in the car, one in the garage, etc...

If that doesn’t work it’s called the “Megear Level 1-2 EV Charger”.
Ok elm benchmark works fine But still hangs when in connected mode. I will try the amazon adapter GLLC ELM327 USB V1.4 OBDII Code Reader with FT232rl Chip and PIC18F25K80 Chip Car Diagnostic Tool ELM327 USB Interface Cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BWF7MTL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_jqRjBbWX6TZNT and report back.
Thanks for your continued help, this is driving me crazy..
Tried again today, still no luck - here's a screenshot - i'm thinking that the red boxes on the far right should be changing once i've wrote the settings though and they aren't..

I tried the ELM Benchmark and got a load of 'OK's from the DOS screen, but then it hung. I'm thinking I have a fake ELM ODB reader.
EDIT: found another ODB on Amazon that multiple comments state it works on Smart 453's so have ordered that.
For anyone else reading this -> https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07BWF7MTL/
30 seconds after plugging the above product in - I now have Android Auto working in the g/f's 453. Thanks so much for your tutorial & help.
OBD2 reader won't read it sadly. There's a [tool on Amazon], about 125 or so, that usually works. Otherwise your only option is to go to a MB dealer or a specialist shop, that has a STAR machine to read it out.
I have the 2016 too, with no Mercedes dealership that would work on it in a 100-mile range. The only maintenance I'm aware of is the battery drier pack thingy (super technical terms) that you replace every 2 years. You can buy it on Amazon & do it yourself.
I think 7k is a pretty normal price for 25k miles. I bought mine for 8k with 10k miles on it.
The only time it wouldn't make 40 miles is in winter with the heater on. Mine regularly drops to the 30-40 range if it's freezing out & I have the heater on. So if you live in a state that gets below freezing, that might be an issue. But if you have a charger at work... problem solved.
From what I've read the degradation on these little guys is crazy good. I swear I read about someone that has one past 200k miles with only about 10-15% loss.
I use this one. ITs funky, and beeps a lot, but you can adjust the settings to RMPs, or speed, and at the bottom it shows the water temp. I hit 89mph in mine, and it was still pulling hard. Speedo showed 90. So I know it works

For what it's worth, I recommend getting a scanner such as this along with the Torque app on your phone. It's about the same price as a cheap scanner from your local auto shop, but it's much more compact, and also gives loads more info than one of the cheap ones.
It's one of those things that I just keep plugged in my car (unplug it when I won't be using my car for an extended period of time), and whenever I do need it I'm ready to go. Definitely recommend doing something like this, if only for peace of mind.
12 v to 110 converter in the cigarette lighter and 2 strings of LED lights (low draw) and gorilla tape. When at home I just run them off an extension cord. Ran them out the back under the tailgate and around the car!
I don't want to cycle through all of that though just to find a song. I'd rather just talk to my phone and tell it what to play next.
I have one like that, the problem is the quality is too poor.
This is what I currently have:
This seller on Amazon seems to usually fall in line with dealer prices. If you're looking for cheaper than that, I'd suggest keeping on eye on ebay or start looking at junk yards.
I installed these in about 30 minutes without removing door panel. We dubstep the hell out of them on full volume. Most dramatic improvement per dollar ever.
