The equipment is fixed at your home, the speed are minimum not maximum speed.
Like checkout AT&T current offering $60/Month, 170 GB Download per month, but guarantees only 10 Mbps down (but speed often exceed it)

It is for people in rural/country areas where they don't have cable ISPs.

"I just got the fixed wireless internet installed today. The installer said that my location was getting an "ok" signal, but I am getting between 40 and 50 mbps download speeds and about 5 mbps upload. They guarantee at least 10 mbps, but I am getting 4 to 5 times that. For a rural setting, I am impressed. I am going to be getting 340GB of service per month. With combined billing with my Directv account, I will be paying $50 per month"
Doing a quick read of the court filing it seems R+ offered Sprint the use of their patented "Ringback Tone" in exchange for a "Free Service Plan". Sprint and R+ were jointly investing in this ad-subsidized business model. R+ alleges that Sprint is reneging on the deal and tricked them into a contract for their intellectual property. They claim Sprint is still using their patents on Sprint Music Plus. Now Sprint has turned off their API for new activations and service will end on Feb 11.
Official R+ Discussion Thread
If you have a R+ line, now is the time to think about options.
Sprint MVNO options: Ting, Tello, TPO, Boost, Virgin Mobile, TextNow, RedPocket, Project Fi.
You can find out more about these options on /r/nocontract
Your phone will probably be useless soon. In the mean time, try to get your money back.
You need to open a complaint with Swappa so they can try to remedy it with the seller. Also immediately contact PayPal for a refund under the terms that the item was not as described. The seller committed fraud either way. If your PayPal payment came from a credit card, I would even see what they can do for you if all other options fail. Either way, Swappa needs to ban the seller, and PayPal needs to take action. https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/security/safe-online-shopping
Also from Swappa: "All seller return policies are based on the pre-condition that the device is received as advertised and in accordance with Swappa policies. No seller may deny a return / refund when not as advertised." http://swappa.com/faq/general/return_policies

Install this and run it. Backup your data first in case it wipes your phone, though rare it's possible.
Samsung phones use different configurations like iOS based on carrier. But the TNX process doesn't always change the carrier config properly. This app does that.
Use a reputable utility that detects and categorizes add-ons to scan your device. A sneaky thing some adware does is to remain silent for a few days to a few weeks from installation. This serves to disguise which app brought this garbage into your device, thus keeping you from removing it.
This one works well.

I'd imagine that's something that Tarek Robbiati (CFO) is keeping track of:
Sprint's (S) Management Presents at Deutsche Bank Media, Internet & Telecom Conference (March 9, 2016 08:35 ET)
Tarek Robbiati (CFO)
> It's really important for us that our network continues to perform. But nonetheless there are some sites that we no longer use, typically the WiMAX site, and the WiMAX network has been shut down. The tuned up high spectrum of WiMAX is being repurposed. We're putting it on for LTE. This offers us the opportunity to A, continue to deliver an outstanding customer experience on LTE, and B, also reduce cost at the same time by removing those WiMAX site that we no longer need.
.......
> Again, the last subcomponent of cost of service is roaming. We are a lot more careful around roaming charges. The way we look at every site and we understand the profitability of each and every site that we have in the company. We are making sure that the costs that's pertaining to these sites are under control. We eliminate undue out of footprint roaming. When I say it's undue it's because we do have network presence in some areas, yet nonetheless the phones were allowed to roam on someone else's network which triggered cost, so we're eliminating this and we're keeping that under control. We're also renegotiating roaming agreements with our suppliers across the nation and that helps the cost down.
Seems like he's counting the beans....
Yeah, it’s definitely a little odd - it provides benefit to the companies (who make money on people who forget to cancel) and for the CC companies (who make money on fees from people forgetting to cancel).
You may be able to call your bank or credit Union and ask them to disable the feature - I know some banks will do this.
You can also use Privacy to create virtual cards, and cut them off whenever you want / set limits on them. I think you’re limited in how many you can use per month for free accounts though.
The iPhone 6/6 Plus definitely support Band 41 (Spark). However, the iPhones do not display a "Spark" logo, unlike Android devices.
See: https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ (The iPhone 6/6 Plus model for Sprint supports Band 41)
Secure Wi-Fi by Sprint: iOS and Android
> This service is available to customers for $1.99/month, or for $0.99 a Sprint customer can sign up for a 24-hour pass.
/u/Craig-S: on the iOS App Store, this App is called "Secure Wi-Fi". On Google Play, the Android App is called "Secure WiFi". The App names should be updated to be the same because it can affect the ability to find the App on the iOS App Store or Google Play.
FYI, searching for "Sprint Secure WiFi" or "Sprint Secure Wi-Fi" on Google Play doesn't actually return the App in the search results. I had to find it by going to Google and searching for it generally.
Try using Hangouts by Google, Inc.

It's not perfect but it might help you cope with the challenge for the time being.
Edit - I'm hoping at least one person might explain my down votes here?
Yup. Tarek spoke to that point:
> Now on second part of the question, to what extent there key plus churn redactor. We are going so fast with LTE plus that I am not sure I can give you a considered answer. It's too early to call and say that LTE plus has a material impact on churn reduction because we are rolling it out very fast. We have improved the network here in Miami, we are looking forward to putting up 2500 spectrum in New York. We couldn't because we are blocked because of the WiMAX shutdown delay, now we can. It is a very rapidly evolving picture with LTE plus and it's not the always possible to draw a link of course, to effect between rolling out LTE plus and what happens at the churn level.
Shentel also mentioned it during its Earnings Call:
> Network stats are shown on Slide 27, we have 552 cell sites 93% have a second LTE carrier at 800, 34% have three LTE carriers with two at 1900 megahertz and one at 800 megahertz. We have started launching 2.5 gigahertz sites late in 2015. To-date, we have 16 online, we would have more but the delay in turning down the Sprint WiMAX network and the need to finalize the spectrum lease has delayed our rollout.
It was only a matter of time before the FCC found "Fabian 'FierceWireless' Cortez" with a jammer in Queens, NY..... ;-)
It's not the Google version. It's listed as unlocked, Amazon exclusive, and fully compatible with Sprint and the other 3 major carriers. I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/Moto-4th-Generation-hands-free-Exclusive/dp/B077RNH9HT
I've found your problem. The IMEI you listed is GSM-only, and not compatible with CDMA carriers. Confirmed on Amazon here.
I ran the IMEI separately through Sprint's own database just to confirm, and got back the incompatible error message.
The one you were sent was not Sprint compatible. Gotta contact Assurant (or Asurion) and hope and pray the person who answers the phone know the difference between a GSM-only model and the GSM+CDMA model used on Sprint.
I have an iPhone XS so my knowledge is limited here...
However, there's a Sprint Visual Voicemail App on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sprint.vvm&hl=en_US
Does this work for you?
As far as VoLTE goes. It's gradually being rolled out to devices. The first device to support it was the Samsung Galaxy S8. IIRC, the S8 received software updates to make it "carrier agnostic" and VoLTE is supported on it IIRC. I imagine similar updates/support will come to the Note 8. Others here could speak to more specifics.
Had no problem running Sprint on NordVPN, tried out another VPN - everything is fine. So the VPN connection is not being throttled, that's for sure. Maybe your setup has changed? Have you tampered with any settings on your phone or your VPNs?
I use PrivateTunnel VPN for personal traffic and Cisco AnyConnect for work traffic. I don't have a problem maintaining LTE for either tunnel.
As a side note, check out r/keepournetfree for discussions on VPN and the facts about the bill that's got you motivated to encrypt the traffic.
Use a VPN (Private Internet Access. A VPN will also encrypt all your traffic, so you can use it for torrents, public wifi, or other traffic you don't want people snooping.
They only do this on their off-contract service (Framily, Virgin Mobile, Boost, Sprint Prepaid). If you have contract service, this doesn't happen.
Apple has Field Test: http://osxdaily.com/2018/05/02/use-field-test-mode-iphone-x-ios/
But all you can do is look at the data, you can't change anything.
BTW. No MSL codes. Apple does not use MSL codes.
That policy was enacted in 2011, prior to that the fee was the usual fairly standard 10%. So while it is true now, it hasn't always been that way. The restocking fee on a 16GB iPhone 6 (the cheapest) would have been $65 if that policy was still in effect. The interesting thing though is the timing of Apple's policy change.
Best Buy removed their restocking fees just a couple weeks prior to Apple's policy change. Granted, they still have a 15% restocking fee on special order items.
So, with Sprint, SIM cards have different model numbers. It's not like any other carrier where you can just pop a SIM in.
The model numbers tell you if it's compatible with your phone. Here's a great list to follow.
As for activating, call this number: 866-782-8777
You must provide your porting info such as account number, pin, address, etc.

Sprint 4G bands are 25, 26, 41. OnePlus 6T supports all the Bands.
So why wouldn't it work on Sprint?
Yup.
See Shentel's 1Q 2016 Earnings Conference Call Transcript:

There's no new news here... Sprint talked about putting up some spectrum as collateral for network lease co in the last earnings call. They also emphasized that they will retain ownership of said spectrum.
>Tarek Robbiati (CFO)
>...Furthermore, we are establishing a network-related financing entity in cooperation with SoftBank and its partners. We expect that the network financing entity can provide between $3 billion to $5 billion of cash in fiscal year 2016. This facility is expected to include new assets associated with the network densification, as well as raising proceeds against our existing radio access equipment and a portion of our spectrum portfolio.
Later, in Q&A...
>Rick Prentiss
>Thanks. Good morning, guys. Thanks for adding the extra color on the network densification plan. It was a crazy week, obviously. Speaking of the network financing potential vehicle, can you talk to us a little bit about, will it be an interest expense that will be the effect on the Sprint side of that transaction or is that something operating related?
>Tarek Robbiati (CFO)
>...I would say that at this stage, we would deal with this transaction on balance sheet and will not be an off-balance sheet transaction. And therefore, it would not be by - accounted for by way of an operating expense. As was mentioned earlier on a question, it’s really important that we retain ownership of the spectrum. And therefore, when you think about it, if it is a lease, it is a capital lease and not going to be an operating lease.
I'm sure your post will be taken down for violation of rule 6, but this is the current state of Sprint in certain markets. I once got 0.04 Mbps download speeds and nearly half a second of ping with moderate LTE signal. Seems like a case of heavy deprioritization.
Here's the link to my result https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/5639329291
I seem to recall reading something which said SoftBank is precluded from giving additional money to Sprint.
EDIT: here it is...
> The underlying problem is that SoftBank can't write Sprint a check to cover all of its growing expenses, including network and leasing hardware. SoftBank's deal with banks will prevent it from sinking more cash into Sprint's operations, and not to mention, SoftBank has about $100 billion in debt itself. That's why SoftBank formed those two financing vehicles where it's not the main source of capital, but instead found a partner to provide the capital. While this move will prevent Sprint's $34 billion debt position from growing on its balance sheet, it's still debt that must be paid off. However, it's off-balance sheet debt, which if you ask me, is a way of making Sprint's operations appear stronger than it actually is, which theoretically could help the stock.
Agreed. It's safe to say that Marcelo repaired and strengthend the damaged relationship Sprint had with Apple.

> CUPERTINO, Calif. -- On his first day as CEO of Sprint, Marcelo Claure didn't spend his time greeting employees in the company's Kansas headquarters. Instead, he traveled to Cupertino to meet with Apple CEO Tim Cook.
> Sprint didn't start offering the iPhone until the fourth generation of the device -- the iPhone 4S in October 2011 -- and Claure was determined Sprint would be at the front of the pack this time around. So he asked Cook for a meeting.
...
> The two CEOs struck a deal for Sprint to offer the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at Sprint with new, specially priced, unlimited data plans.
Great job Marcelo!
You can also get a fully unlocked Moto E4 at Best Buy for $105.99 right now. Perfect for the 1-year free deal.
I messaged
u/LiterallyUnlimited
https://www.reddit.com/u/LiterallyUnlimited
on reddit who was able to fix my IMEI in minutes, since i previously had project Fi on my nexus 6p a year ago. Since Fi technically is a sprint mvno.
EDIT: I think you need to port out of Project FI first, Fi counts as Sprint maybe? Like Ringplus and Cellnuvo used to show my carrier as Sprint
Someone on slickdeals said it depends alot on area, one user was quoted 15$/month whereas one was quoted 6$/month (I think it is after -5$ for Autopay so maybe around 11$/month) ?
I think user is saying 31$/month in taxes, I don't believe him ... maybe it's for 2 lines?
Sprint has a one year free promo of unlimited data, you could just switch and try for yourself.
Here's my slickdeals post detailing everything:
> Reliability claim based on Sprint's analysis of latest Nielsen drive test data for average network reliability (voice & data) in top 106 markets.
FWIW, and whatever "reliability" means. And that's old data. Probably wouldn't be the case with an updated report.
https://opensignal.com/reports/2016/08/usa/state-of-the-mobile-network/
I just signed up yesterday, but they must not be throttling me. I'm not sure if they deprioritize or not though, but I took this outside my work in a downtown area this morning (so, probably a reasonable number of people in the area). https://www.speedtest.net/result/a/4859527485.png

Oh I see, VM's operate separately from text messages. The Sprint Voicemails should be backed up before TNX and then after TNX is performed you can recover them on Tmobile's Visual Voicemail.
This TNX app helps, it helps download all of Tmobile's equivalent Sprint apps after TNX is done.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tmobile.ms.ow
All of this shouldn't affect your text messages at all. 😀
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tmobile.ms.ow
Run this app and it will help you download Tmobile's respective sprint equivalent apps. Eg Scam Shield, Tmo Voicemail, etc.
And maybe try a network reset? I don't remember what Samsung's short keys is for the network reset but maybe your device simply needs to be refreshed on Tmobile's network to get it going again.
So you can accomplish what your describing with the 2g data but it will be painfully slow. I personally don't have the patience.
Check out the Orange Holiday plan. You can order it through Amazon or you can purchase when you land. It's actually a pretty good deal if you travel between different countries within the EU since you don't have to keep purchasing different SIMs.
The Moto G without lockscreen ads from Amazon is 200 bucks. (Activate via BYOP)
That is one option however I would recommend you do your research and see if it meets your requirements.
But also remember it is November so holiday sales and Black Friday is coming so who knows what they might have on sale.
Download this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.samsungbandselection
That app will allow you to select bands. It's a little finicky but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.
It will allow you to manually select the bands you want. I'm still able to manually select Sprint LTE bands through here on my S20+
Once open tap launch band selection
In the top left tap the three lines
Tap band selection
Tap the bands you want, then toggle the option in the top right to on. This will force your phone to connect only to the bands you select.
Turn it off to go back to standard mode
As mentioned in an earlier post, the Pixel 3 finally supports VoLTE on Sprint, after you install the Android 10 update. You can find the toggle switch to enable VoLTE under the Settings Menu. WiFi Calling has been supported for a while now, so the addition of VoLTE is a big deal.
I don't recall if the Pixel 3 from Sprint comes with the My Sprint Mobile App preloaded, but that's actually one App which makes sense to have so you can manage your account and submit any network issues.
I have yet to use it, but im pretty sure you have to install the app first to configure it..
For Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sprint.drive For Apple https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sprint-drive/id1439458173?mt=8
If having an always-on VPN, including over Mobile Data, is important, you should consider a multi-platform VPN like SurfEasy:
I use it and it’s fantastic. Have a look and see if it meets your needs.
One thing to keep in mind, if you aren’t already aware.
Unlike the HTC One M8 you currently have, the Pixel (and Nexus/Pixel 2 for that matter) doesn’t yet support WiFi Calling on Sprint.
You can however download the My Sprint App from Google Play! :-)

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sprint.care
Me too.
And now that My Sprint is available for download directly from Google Play, users can use it.
We'll see if Wi-Fi Calling is supported.
Just because you increase the signal strength doesn't mean you'll get a better speed.
There are a lot of factors that come into play with signal strength, towers and distance.
Your Tower: Might Support all LTE bands along with CA (25, 26, 41). Might have a fiber or Microwave backhaul. His Tower: Might only support (25, 26). With a much slower backhaul.
Terrain: Your dad's signal could be passing through multiple objects (tress, buildings etc..) which can slow down the speeds quite a bit. While your signal could be more of a "line-of-sight".
LTE bands: His phone could be connecting to Band 26 which is to fill gaps with LTE for lot for actual fast data usage. You can check the Band on the phones using this app and report back.
I'n not sure about those phones but I think the Note 5 doesn't support one of the Sprint LTE bands (26 (Better Range) or 41 (Better Speed)) but I could be wrong.
About two years ago in a forum a Sprint employee said (in a forum) they didn't really mind if you tethered without a tethering plan just don't be stupid and try to run a server farm or use it as your main home Internet.
Sprint throttles P2P applications like Fluid to around 700Kbps so torrenting on cellular data won't harm the network that much.
Are you talking about this deal https://slickdeals.net/f/12222124-walmart-black-friday-iphone-8-8-or-x-purchased-on-qualifying-at-t-next-sprint-or-verizon-plan-400-walmart-gift-card?page=2 ? Im trying to upgrade my phone can i do this?
At the moment Sprint customers can not access T-Mobile's true 5G(5G SA).
That doesn't mean you will be at much of a disadvantage.

Here's some info on the topic of microwaving SSDs. Be careful this flash card caught on fire after only a few seconds in the microwave.
This is what my 5g Speedtests used to look like here in Atlanta Sprint. I can't get anything even remotely close to this anymore.

I was pulling in 34 down, 37 up on band 71 a few days ago (forced my phone to lock on it, no CA).
I've never seen faster than 10/1 on band 26, all over the Western US.
Is either one of our anecdotes proof that one band is better than the other? No. But it seems strange that "this is why you're not a T-Mobile fan"
Just ran this inside my house in the same spot:
Try to install the APK from here:
Let me know if that works.
Have you tried downloading it from apkmirror instead?
Sprint was hemorrhaging customers and it couldn't support having these jobs.
Marcelo stopped the financial bleeding and the massive customer exodus. Because Sprint has made such great progress in the last 2 years, it's easy to forget how bad things were when he came on board. Marcelo talked about the state of Sprint when he became CEO and how on his first day as CEO, he actually went to Cupertino, CA to make amends and repair the relationship Sprint had with Apple:
Marcelo Claure:
> And I'll tell you probably my biggest surprise is, what I'd like to call, the monthly market share or better referred as, share of gross adds. And in the month of August, I think I took my first day in the job was August 12 in Kansas City, our share of gross adds was 10%. When you're 10%, that means you are not even part of the conversation, you're irrelevant. When you go from a - when you have a market share of 16%, and a share of gross adds of 10%, that means you are under-indexing your true capabilities. So that was a big surprise, one of the things that we found. Secondly, what’s the amount of customers leaving us in comparison to coming? So we were network negative. The quality of our subscribers that we were attracting, they were lot more in sub-prime area than I would have liked.
> So, those sort of things were a big surprise. And I would have liked to have a little more time to understand, let's say, everything on the business, but when you look at those numbers, you just don’t have time.

Here's the transcript of the event.
Over 20,000 microwave links for backhaul.
Band 41 uplink improvements.
Sprint is turning around right now. I still don't think most people realize what a hole Sprint was in when Marcelo became CEO. He has accomplished a huge amount in the time he's been there.
Sprint was on the verge of going off a cliff when Marcelo came on board:

> Yeah, but who in their right mind would fund that leasing company?
People who see the upside and see the light at the end of the tunnel.
> and Sprint is basically in a death spiral.
No it isn't now.
It was on the verge of one here when Marcelo came on board:

> ...The way we look at our network from a metrics perspective is there are three core metrics really that truly matter at the end of the day in the eyes of the customer. Everything else matters from an engineering standpoint, but in the eyes of the customer, you have three core metrics. The first one is dropped calls, the second one is time on LTE, and the third one is the speed that is currently observed.

> And so a large piece of Sprint’s go-to-market model now is now really device leasing and you have a strong leasing background and recently announced a sale and leaseback transaction for handsets via other mobile leasing solutions. And as part of this, the company, Sprint, it’s selling $1.3 billion of leased handsets in exchange for $1.1 billion of cash, $100 million of deferred consideration, has the transaction closed, is the money in the door?
> Tarek Robbiati - Chief Financial Officer
> Yes. The transaction has closed. The money is in the door. We are very pleased to report that. We got the money yesterday. So that’s done.
.......
Sounds promising.
True.
Model A1586 (iPhone 6 Sprint / Apple store unlock version) and Model A1524 (iPhone 6 Plus Sprint / Apple store unlock version) are global LTE devices. And thus should fetch a higher $ than their counterparts (At&t, Verizon, etc. models A1549 or A1522)
Source Models A1586 and A1524 also support LTE networks listed for models A1549 and A1522
> Can I take all the contacts, photos, and other data from my Samsung and transfer it over to the iPhone easily?
Yes:
Which phone, which plan?
If you're getting 150Mbps download speeds, but having video issues... try fast.com to see if the plan you're on is throttling video... or if a trouble ticket needs to be filed.
I believe on B41 runs TDD Config 2. I get 35 to 40 up on Band 25 here at home.
Just ran a test for you.
> Speedtest app shows in your local time
It also shows GMT time (Dublin Is GMT) at least for me.
> Ookla’s headquarters are located in Seattle, WA with additional offices in Dublin, Ireland

So 1:21 am GMT timestamp could very well be 5:21 PM for OP In Pacific time (GMT -8).
I'm concerned when you say
> Since she uses it so little, I'd love to switch to the free Sprint plan.
because of the SlickDeals thread on the deal. In big bright red letters in the wiki post about a quarter of the total way down the page is
> WARNING: IF FREE LINES DO NOT HAVE ADEQUATE USAGE ON THEM, SPRINT MAY SUSPEND ALL OPENED LINES AND REQUIRE YOU TO CALL THEIR FRAUD DEPARTMENT. Be sure to use the lines once you open them (unclear how much "usage" is required).
If the line has no usage, Sprint may cancel it completely and flag it as fraud.
Yes turn on Airplane mode. For safety, I'd also turn off international data roaming and international voice roaming.
WiFi use internationally is just like in the states, which in general doesn't hit your cell network usage .
Depending on your phone, you may be able to use WiFi International Calling too. I think currently only the Samsung Galaxy S4 supports it, but I'm not certain if/when other devices will support it.

Per this article:
> Vendors will be finalized by mid-July, RBC said, adding that "the project is about to enter the site acquisition, engineering and permitting phase.
Hopefully there's some action happening soon. I don't know why SoftBank didn't commit to doing this densification/expansion project when Marcelo first came on board 8 months ago.
Things must have been in a freefall as Marcelo described back in November 2014...
> And I’ll tell you probably my biggest surprise is, what I’d like to call, the monthly market share or better referred as, share of gross adds. And in the month of August, I think I took my first day in the job was August 12 in Kansas City, our share of gross adds was 10%. When you’re 10%, that means you are not even part of the conversation, you’re irrelevant. When you go from a – when you have a market share of 16%, and a share of gross adds of 10%, that means you are under-indexing your true capabilities.

> "I went ahead and I visited Apple. It was a relationship that was pretty damaged. So we had some good open discussions with Apple. And we made our changes."
I hear that Masa has a pretty close relationship with Nokia due to his holdings in Japan. Should bode well for us. All speculation of course. http://seekingalpha.com/article/2493425-nokia-is-big-in-japan
On December 2, 2014, the Sprint CFO (Joe Euteneuer) said at a conference that it would be available via a software update for iPhone 6 in 60-90 days. So that's 30-60 days from now.
I think he might just improve current customer offerings. If you have the time, read this transcript from his interview at the Wells Fargo Media & Telecom conference.
It might be interesting if they went with something like Patreon for a subscription-based idea.
The reason I think they don't though is that people would just sign up for a month at $5 and then cancel it after getting the info and possibly releasing it elsewhere. S4GRU takes a lot of bandwidth due to it's popularity, and they rely on the sponsors for that support to keep it going.
Maybe 6-8 Hours I guess?
I paid via *3 option on Sprint phones and it automatically unlocks iPhone SE, if you pay off at Sprint.com or some other way it might not work.
Some comment in that thread said that it worked for multiple people if you paid DPP like this (I can't find seem to find exact post right now :( .... )
Once I paid by dialing *3, I did GSX Report test at eBay which arrived at night and it shows it was unlocked cause it said
"Next Tether Activation Policy Description: Multi-Mode Unlock"
On Slickdeals, my post reached 720,000+ views and over 7,000 comments. Kinda weird only a small percentage actually went forth with the deal
2 people from Slickdeals.net called Sprint and Reps said they will extend offer till August 31st 2017
Also, some people got Sim cards for free from Apple Stores or Best Buy for 5$, or even Sprint Stores at 10$ + Taxes
Just call TeleRep @ 1-866-782-8777 and tell them you already have SIM Card (you would need to read them your SIM ICCID number)
Someone on Slickdeals.net said they called and Sprint Rep said they are extending again beyond 7/31/2017, but something like main account needs to be set, can add more free lines after 7/31/2017 no problem. They will update soon on Sprint.com/1yearfree with more details on it
Not challenging or being disrespectful here, I am actually thankful you took your precious time to help this person, But
> You just can't use a sprint phone to sign up
You can, I bought this deal iPhone SE Deal for 2.5$*24 + 39$ Tax, got 75$ GC for it, I ported out and then ported back in to get free year deal
I moved from FreedomPop, I bought SIM for 51 cents (Once they had deal for 1 cents also lol which includes shipping, https://slickdeals.net/f/9607880-freedompop-global-3-in-1-sim-card-kit-100-free-mobile-phone-service-free-1gb-bonus-0-01 )
Since, the number comes up as Landline cause it is under bandwidth.com, it requires longer port in than wireless.
FreedomPop had authorized my port, I had to call Sprint to complete the port faster than the scheduled 3-4 later. (It said something like - Old Carrier has authorized your port, it is scheduled to occur on 7/9, call (877) 503-3269 to complete port earlier if you have device on hand)
>save 50% on an iPhone with Cartwheel™ when you switch from T-Mobile to Sprint. in store only.* *From Cartwheel, tap checkout & then tap coupons. See your Target Tech representative for redemption and offer details. Requires credit approval, wireless plan, qualifying device, porting of phone#, and installment billing agreement for the carrier’s required term. Subject to Sprint’s terms and conditions.
This is a pretty good deal for anyone into Iphones.
Discussion on slickdeals says it doesn't have to be with Tmobile, but with any carrier but Sprint or its affiliate.
From Article:
> RootMetrics, a Bellevue, Wash.-based concern that has made a name for itself by conducting tests of wireless services in cities and airports across the nation, is now starting to test wireless networks in sports stadiums, which may give fans a heads-up on how their provider is performing inside stadium walls.
> Though it only has visited a handful of arenas so far, RootMetrics eventually plans to test more than 100 stadiums this year, according to the company. For each venue, RootMetrics sends an unspecified number of testers to track data performance of the top four wireless carriers in the U.S., a list that includes AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile. RootMetrics’ venue testers also check performance of the internal Wi-Fi network if one is available, but it does not let Wi-Fi compete for its “RootScore Award,” which it bestows upon the carrier with best performance in the combined categories of speed and “data reliability,” basically a measurement of the ability to make and hold a connection during any wireless data request or action.
> RootMetrics also doesn’t take into account whether or not any of the carriers has preferential deals inside a venue, which may give that provider a leg up on the competition. For its report on the Staples Center, for instance, RootMetrics gives its award to Verizon, which is not surprising to us since Verizon built both the Wi-Fi and the DAS network at the facility. But RootMetrics makes no mention of the business agreements at Staples or anywhere else, which is by design, according to the company.
Looking at the spec sheet it seems as if you can theoreticly go CDMA to GSM but not vice-versa. Too bad Sprint is such a pain about it. I'd imagine Sprint/ Verizon phones would end up having a higher resale value than their GSM counterparts which is the opposite of the current situation.
The Sprint deals site https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/offers/base-offers.html currently says active customers through 12/31/21 and must redeem by 1/31/22. This is further corroborated at https://tv.youtube.com/learn/offer-terms/
How can CS argue with what's posted on both Sprint and YT sites?
I was already on the advantage plus, I did the changes, but there is no difference in the plan. If anything Fast.com speeds now seem less than what they used to be. Prior was around 9.2Mbps now seems to be lower.
Correct. You can test it yourself. If you do a speedtest on speedtest.net , you should get full speeds. If you do a speedtest on fast.com (powered by Netflix) you should see the throttled speed.
Location: North bend, OH
Date/Time: 05/05/19 - 7:11 PM
Speeds: [321 Mbps down / 7.20 Mbps up](https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/4915475752)
Device: Samsung Galaxy S10+
Signal Strength: Unknown (dBm)
Band: 41
If it's not throttled, then it was just slow on the 3 speed tests I did. This was the fastest one for download. https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/4876349991
The upload speed was faster than the download on all the tests, as fast as 11 Mbps.
I did update my PRL, once a few days ago and once in the middle of this trip.
The default LTE specification lists the available frequency bandwidth you can use (1.4mhz, 3, 5, 10, 20). Basically, this refers to the size of your (eg water) pipe : larger means more data/water can flow through
20mhz is the largest single pipe that LTE can support - up to 150mbps download, 50mhz upload.
To get higher speeds, you can bundle multiple pipes together using LTE-A (i.e. aggregating pipes together via carrier aggregation). You can get two 20mhz pipes together to effectively get one 40mhz pipe and the bandwidth (300mbps) that comes with it
LTE-A can also offer better antenna/range support, and will be backward compatible with normal LTE (older device may not be able to use the two bundled 20mhz pipes, but can use at least one of them)
I have a device that supports eSIM (Pixel), and I don't have a Sprint SIM currently in device (using eSIM), but you don't need that to have two numbers on your Sprint (or any carrier device).
Go to Google Voice, get a free number (you can change this number, or port a number in to it if you like) install the Google Voice app, forward incoming calls to your device. Set it for data and wifi calling. And setup your preference for outbound GV calls.
The GV number is free, as is Google Voice. Free unlimited calling in US/CAN, unlimited text (MMS/SMS).
If you want dual SIM, you will have to find another carrier that supports eSIM, and then use the physical Sprint SIM whilst using the other carrier's eSIM.
Technically, I suppose I can have three numbers on my Pixel. (SIM/eSIM/Google Voice).
Try the Wehe app. It will check many different streaming sites including Amazon Prime and report the unthrottled and throttled speeds.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.meddle.wehe
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wehe/id1309242023
The Wehe project is led by researchers at Northeastern University and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Thank you. Yes that is turned off but the app is still not connecting. The app is called Ronin Warlod
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Ronin.Warlord
I just wondering if something about the app is being blocked on network. I am friends with the developer and it worked prior to the migration.
Is this the app or is there one made by Samsung I'm overlooking?
Would this essentially do the same thing as me calling Sprint to switch my sim? Or would there still be potential benefit to me switching the actual sim card. Thanks again
As for the Moto G devices:
Currently you can get the Moto G4 Play for $129 from Amazon. Amazon is nice since you can return it if you have issues.
The Moto G4 I recommend because it's unlocked. If you ever leave Sprint, you can use it on Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile as well. It's also a world phone, so you can use Sprint's free GSM global roaming. As mentioned above, the G4 is a newer phone that supports all 3 Sprint LTE bands (850, 1900, 2500). Only negative is it is very much a budget device, so the camera is okay (probably as good as your old Galaxy S3) and it has a 720p screen (again the GS3 has a 720p as well).
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J88GV0C/ref=psdc_2407749011_t1_B01EZC9WC0?th=1
If you're a power user there's the Moto G4 Plus which has a better camera, 1080p screen, and fingerprint reader:
However, I'd wait on the Plus. Like I said, the Moto G5 comes out next week and the G4 devices may drop in price.
For anyone still dealing with this issue, I was able to activate my Pixel 3 XL on Sprint with the following SIM: SIMGLW416TQ (got it from this amazon page).
I got an error on the activation page saying the SIM was not compatible, but I was eventually able to activate it by talking to a sprint representative through the chat window. Also, I think you may have better luck trying to active through the BYOD activation page rather than the usual sprint activation page.
