"A bag you sleep in" is every bivy. There are some very expensive bivies from respectable brands. Though it is hard finding bivies as expensive as the BivyPack.
This is part of the "Gifts For Men Dad Husband" collection available now on Amazon Prime Day!
This product has been somewhat successful. It is on amazon for example Typically sells for $20-$30. Kind of heavy from the use of rock.
It's a axesaw candidate because of the name mainly. It also combines 3 things into 1 for no reason.
A spork in itself a fine idea. The 'light my fire' spork is a classic camping utensil. It's $4 on Amazon and small/light.
Putting a knife in the handle of a spork seems unnecessary to me. It makes the spork handle bulky and unnecessarily heavy. If I need a knife I'll use my main knife, not a plastic one in the handle of my spoon.
I'm not saying you can't like this one, but the fact that it's an axesaw member is true. Just like the Coleman scissors we both liked last week.
If that is what you are looking for then consider carrying a tomahawk head instead. Tomahawks were specifically made to have their handle made in the field. As such they have a simple round eye. Any straight piece of wood with a slight flair may be used as the handle.
Its vastly sturdier than this since the handle is solid instead of split. And it doesn't require any cordage. Here is an example that is 78% cheaper than the Axxis. (Just throw away the handle it comes with I guess?)
This is a less common form of the axesaw. Taking an existing product and just selling it for an absurd markup. Hopefully enough people are unaware of what the going market rate is and they will buy in.
This though takes it to a new level. The lowest priced KS reward that gets you physical good is $50 for 1 packet.
Their existing product is $5 per packet.
Their competitors are $2 per packet. (But those packets are 13.4 grams each instead of 40 grams each. So its not a 2500% markup.)
Since you seem to know your shit, I was actually looking for something like that, and your comment about Brunton pushed me in the right direction, then I found the term "clinometer" which seems to mean "measures slope" (inclination).
I'm looking to do a casual "survey" as a first line of defense to see whether I can put in a pond on my property without flooding out anything I don't want to. If it seems like it will generally work, I'd get a pro to do the survey and permits and stuff.
So basically, I'd put a pole up with an orange ribbon, and then walk around and mark out the same height all over. I can do this in 2 hours, and if it doesn't work, I don't have to spend thousands to get it surveyed.
Would this work?
They also have a website but it isn't as entertaining as the kickstarter.
I was hopeful that this product didn't have a bottle opener. Nope it has a bottle opener too. Try to avoid nicking yourself with the axe while inebriated.
If anyone is curious about version 1 the only mention I've been able to find about it is on amazon.
Haha just reading some old threads. I beg to differ. :)
Santa clause brought me that 10+ years ago. Use it on the job occasionally. Great conversation piece. Spied it on a fast and furious movie! But otherwise pretty much yah...
I highly doubt Bob designed his tool. Looks more like a typical custom labeling of a generic product.
He certainly has let people do terrible things with his name for money. He's got a depressing amazon affiliate site now.
