And then there are character specific books related to this, that tell you that characters entire history (along with the histories of all their supporting cast, villains, etc)
This is a great historical overview of almost every important Marvel story or character moment from across their history.
For gauntlet just need the Silver Surfer prelude trade. Covers the Thanos Quest issues; then get the trade for the main book. The Thanos quest story is really good. Before the 2000's it doesn't get complicated with Tie-ins and most events are pretty stand alone.
I also use comicbook herald a lot.
Here's a detailed reading list linked below at the bottom.
For Infinity Gauntlet there's really just one TPB you need for a prelude and nothing else. It covers Thanos collecting the stones and is really good. Get that and the main 6 issue trade and you're good to go.
For this and most events before the 2000's though there isn't much in terms of tie-ins you need to be worried about.

If you liked Thor Ragnarok, I would recommend for to buy Planet Hulk Omnibus: Hulk: Planet Hulk Omnibus (Incredible Hulk) https://www.amazon.com/dp/1302907697/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_4rBsFbT295PTR
It’s out of print and it’s a bit expensive, you might can find it cheaper on eBay. It’s a really great story of Hulk.
The links I was looking at both said paperback so I was a bit confused.
And
A link would have been helpful...
But taking a quick look at Amazon(https://www.amazon.com/Secret-Wars-Jonathan-Hickman/dp/0785198849/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=) , the black cover is a hardcover and the blue cover is the paperback.
After Alias and Daredevil and Ultimate Spider-Man, 3 books by Bendis that all came out simultaneously, were such smash hits, he was given the main Avengers book too. Luke and Jessica are main characters in New Avengers and there are a few issues that are just 100% about them and have the same artist from Alias. If you're insane and want to read the whole saga in order including pulse, here it is. Note that Avengers Academy is a comic about teens training to become heros and its the most skippable thing on this list if you want to delete something.
This collects issue 1 thru 5 of the latest Spider-Man run. https://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Spider-Man-Wells-Romita-Vol/dp/1302932721/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=1Q3JRHB52S0IB&keywords=trade+paperback+spider-man&qid=1667805102&sprefix=trade+paperback+spider-man%2Caps%2C200&sr=8-1
Perfect example of how I collect whole series.
I would definitely recommend The Inifinity Saga! You have the order right. If you want to get the fullest experience, I would recommend starting with Warlock by Jim Starlin. Introduces some of the key players as well as Thanos fighting the Avengers over the Soul Gem.
😮 You're right! There it is!

Funny how ComicBookRealm fails to mention this.
Well I think civil war fits in best after hom.
Here’s a link to it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Civil-War-Mark-Millar/dp/1905239602/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3MRENWXGE7K4D&keywords=civil+war+marvel&qid=1660501823&sprefix=civil+war+ma%2Caps%2C112&sr=8-1
If u want to know more about the upcoming avengers movies I can’t help you with Kang but for secret wars you can read new avengers and avengers into secret wars by Johnathon Hickman. There are other posts about the full Hickman reading order including secret warriors and fantastic four so you should probably check those out but this is the fastest (and cheapest) way to read it and you still get most of the story. I would highly recommend at least trying Hickmans run in preparation for the secret wars film.
There’s no full omnibus collecting all of this (at least to my knowledge) but you could try looking into it on marvel unlimited if u want. I think that’s enough for a casual reader so I won’t try overwhelm you with any more lol.
Hopefully this helps you and I’m sure someone else more knowledgeable than me can try help u with Kang.
It collects all the Avengers issues and the Annual.
Warlock by Jim Starlin is a classic. Here's a link to the copy that I've read: https://www.amazon.com/Warlock-Jim-Starlin-Complete-Collection/dp/0785188479/ref=sr\_1\_1?keywords=warlock+jim+starlin&qid=1659377945&sprefix=warlock+jim+%2Caps%2C88&sr=8-1
So, this definitely confuses people, but the Winter Soldier origin is actually in Brubaker's "Captain America" series which started around 2004. Brubaker's run lasted until 2011, and the Winter Soldier arc is the very beginning. Issues 1-9 and 11-14 (#10 is out of continuity and part of the House of M Marvel event) This collection covers it. The rest of Brubaker's Captain America run is also absolutely worth reading, it covers Civil War (which is very different from the movie) and if you're looking for Bucky stories, he is super prominent throughout the entire run. It includes his time as Cap and his romance with Natasha. If you're interested in the entire run past the Winter Soldier origin I can point you to the rest too, but really just look for Captain America omnibuses written by Brubaker.
It sounds like this is what you have. This is the "Winter Soldier" comic that Brubaker wrote after finishing his run on Captain America. It started in 2011 and follows Bucky and Natasha after the events of the entire CA run, and Fear Itself (which is why it contains Fear Itself #7.1. The other relevant issues are Fear Itself #3 and #4) Brubaker write issues 1-14, at which point someone else took over until this series ended at #19.
Yeah so thats the final volume of matt fractions fantastic four run, but he also wrote another series alongside it called FF about basically the side team. And the stories weave in and out of each other at times so I'd say you'd have to read them both. So the best thing you can buy is this large hardcover collection of all 6 matt fraction volumes here

Yes but no because comics.
Here is the TPB listing on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Avengers-Childrens-Crusade-Allan-Heinberg/dp/0785135499
COLLECTING: AVENGERS: THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE 1-9, AVENGERS: THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE - YOUNG AVENGERS 1
There also an issue of X-Men that deals with Magneto leading into Children's Crusade but that's optional.
There are Marvel Masterworks editions of the golden age comics. For example this.
But quite frankly Golden Age comics aren't very good. They were designed to be disposable and forgotten.
If you want to start reading from 'the start' the Fantastic Four #1 would be the better jumping on point but even then many new readers struggle with the format. As mentioned in another post, you'd be better off just picking a character and just reading their latest series from the most recent issue 1.
Furthermore, the r/moonknight sub has a reading order pinned to the top.
With that being said, I started with the newest series from last year that has a trade paperback available of the first 6 issues, and I absolutely loved it. That's here.
Wolverine By Benjamin Percy Vol. 1 (Wolverine, 1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/1302933760/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_HFB36ERC090Q4J95V2T8
Maybe we are talking about a different volume? That's the first OHC of the new Wolverine by Benjamin Percy, even if the cover wrongly shows X-force
While Marvel is on top of the game when it comes to the omnibus edition, unfortunately they're not as good as DC is with keeping trades in print for some reason. If Spider-Man: Blue and Kraven's Last Hunt are out of stock on online retailers, chances are you'll have to hope for a new edition printing. KLH is iconic enough that it should get some other printing at some point, I can't say for sure will be the same with Spider-Man: Blue.
Your best bet could be to check at a LCS to see if they have those books in stock or hope that someone is selling it cheap on eBay. Spider-Man: Blue is also collected in the the "Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale: Yellow, Blue, Gray & White Omnibus", so that could be an avenue for you to get that story. CheapGraphicNovels seems to have these readily in stock, so if you're in the US that could be a good option for you.
Do you know if this Marvel Zombies Omnibus https://www.amazon.com/dp/1846533139/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_XSP2Y1C1C2GJV269W6XS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 is all the marvel zombies comics or does it exclude some.

The first one is the last page of Captain America & Bucky #624. I've read this one a lot! It's in the collected edition "Captain America & Bucky: The Life Story of Bucky Barnes" which is #620-#624. Really good series if you like Bucky, one of my faves actually.
I'm actually not sure on the second one, if I can find it I'll let you know!
I don’t remember exactly which issue this is, but what you’re describing sounds a lot like something I just read in the Spider-Man Lifetheft Epic Collection. It was the final part of a 4-issue mini-event that crossed over between all 4 monthly Spider-Man comics that month, and it wrapped up right befoe the clone saga started.
Hopefully this contains what you’re looking for:
https://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Spider-Man-Epic-Collection-Lifetheft/dp/1302930699
Brubaker's Captain America series - the one that started in 2005. This is the main arc but the entire run is worth reading. Lots of Bucky and Natasha later in the run! Bucky also becomes Cap so more him than Steve if that's what you're looking for.
It's a fact that every female comic book reader loves HAWKEYE by Matt Fraction & David Aja
Try out the free trial to Comixology and read the first two volumes for yourself
https://m.comixology.com/Hawkeye-Vol-1-My-Life-As-A-Weapon/digital-comic/42112
Of course, you can browse around and probably find other great comics too.
The hardcover Omnibus is out of print, but there is a paperback version being released next week. It's just as good and easier on the hands.
https://www.amazon.com/Hawkeye-Fraction-Aja-Barton-Bishop/dp/1302932225/
Ultimate Spider-Man, of course. It's not even a question.
The Vol. 1 Omnibus collecting the first 40 issues is finally getting a reprint next month! Would a great holiday present! https://www.amazon.com/dp/1302931873/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_apan_glt_fabc_A5PX18ZE7GF8QZ69W0KP
I bought a Barnes & Noble edition of this same omnibus back in 2004... read the whole thing in four hours. And now I'm a comics geek!
It's kind of a shame how most of the trade paperbacks has fallen out of print tho... but that's a widespread industry problem, not just for Spider-Man.
You can get access to Ultimate Spider-Man and decades worth of other Marvel comics through the Marvel Unlimited digital subscription plan. Read as much as you want & save money while doing it. Kid would have comics to read for years...
But I will say there's something nice about physical books in your hands, especially when you're young.
Check out your local library too! You would be amazed what some libraries have. Nothing wrong with getting your kid to love the library!
Well isn’t that the marvel hardcover

I just searched Hawkeye #12- 22 on Amazon and there is one there but is currently unavailable Hawkeye Volume 2 by Matt Fraction(2015-12-22) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LP9MK5W/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_XME8K3W79AZMX179PZ43
There’s a good run by Daniel Way that hits on a lot of wackiness and action. Def recommend if you’re new and trying to explore the character. https://www.amazon.com/Deadpool-Daniel-Way-Complete-Collection/dp/0785185321
Deadpool by Daniel Way: The Complete Collection Volume 2

14 dollars on Amazon right now, hell of a deal and it's absolutely hilarious
I found a hardcover on Amazon for 32 (US) dollars but it’s 13-22 instead of 12-22. You could see if someone’s selling an old or used copy for #12 though.
Here’s the link, there’s only 9 left
Hawkeye Volume 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/0785154612/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_HBY6ZVDFGA7HZCYAB38H
Isn't the popular "Back in Black" storyline from after the first Civil War? Here's a TPB and from one of the review comments it collects "Amazing Spider-Man" nos. 539-543, "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" nos. 17-23, and "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" annual no. 1, written by J. Michael Straczynski and Peter David with art by Ron Garney, Todd Nauck, Ronan Cliquet, and Colleen Doran.
Very odd that it's marketed as an Omnibus when the actual omnibus has all 22 volumes. I think this is what you need
Hawkeye Volume 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/0785154612/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_VX9F532TYH7GHCMYMEJN
I didn't buy it off of Amazon, I bought it from my local book store, but I'm 90% sure this is the one I bought: Hawkeye Omnibus Vol. 1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1846532973/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_AT6WCBFJTGWPS22Q7KAD
https://www.amazon.com/Superior-Spider-Man-Complete-Collection-Vol/dp/130291183X
It should look like this listing!
Get this one trade to read as a prelude and you're good to go. No as much prelude and tie-in stuff in events until you get to the 2000's. This includes the coule Thanos Quest issues which show him collecting the stones, good read.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0785166432/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_F98QFZG4W9NEDTHM56PM
Ya and just 11 issues I see in that description. Sounds more like a trade or regular hardcover than an Omnibus. I just got my first omnibus at LCS for venom and it's over 1000 pgs. It's like 2.5 inches thick.
There are some book volumes called Marvel Zombies: the complete collection. They're 4-500 pg paperbacks.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0785185380/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_E3EJJ4WCRA35B1KE6RAE
Start with Bendis New Avengers run. This trade collects Avengers Disassembled and then launches into his New Avengers run. https://www.amazon.com/New-Avengers-Brian-Michael-Bendis-ebook/dp/B07QNZN662/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=New+avengers+Bendis&qid=1622219903&sr=8-1
I’d also suggest Brubakers Captain America run.
If you want a stand-alone story that doesn’t need any background knowledge read Vision. I also really like the Jeph Loeb Yellow, Blue, Grey, White.
Marvel Unlimited had a pretty bad user interface, but it’s a cheap way to read virtually everything ever released.

“Saga” by Brian k Vaughan. Start Here that‘ll cost you less than $10 and get you rolling. Marvel can be tricky to dive into, but totally worth it later. Start with a series right from Issue 1. If you're not aware, comic titles come in three basic forms. 1-Issues, give or take 30 pages, they come out typically once a month. 2- Trade Paperbacks, usually consist of 4-6 Issues, and often tell a cohesive “story arc”. 3- books, which are harder to define, sometimes by year but it varies. The link i put up is for the first volume of what many consider the best place to start with contemporary comics. Have fun!

The main story is just secret invasion 1-8. Everything else is a tie-in. Although New Avengers: Illuminati provides a pretty good prologue to the the story
Are you talking the entire Jonathan Hickman run from "Avengers World" vol 1 (Which you can grab from here on Amazon) or just starting from the "Time Runs Out" story line (From Here)? Essentially the whole series, time is not on their side. These are all trade paperbacks by the way.
The closest I’ve seen to an Omnibus is from the Epic Collection - “War of the Patheons”. Epic Collection
There is a larger hardcover book I have called Time Runs Out, link below. It's like an inch thick. It's probably the best Avengers fast track book. It alternates between Avengers and New Avengers in order lead up to Secret Wars. I read a little more along the way, but if you read this along with the first volume of Avengers you're pretty set. First Avengers volume is needed also to introduce and explain the convergence and multiverse collapsing thing, but they re-explain and catch you up with some narrator forward in the big book if you want to skip that.
https://www.amazon.com/Avengers-Time-Runs-Out-Marvel/dp/0785198091
If you want to read Infinity, do so just before the Time Runs out book I believe. Also don't buy the Volume 2 Avenger hardcover if you do. The Infinity hardcover includes those issues properly spaced out in between Infinity 1-6.
The Secret War prelude book also has like the first 3 issues of Avengers if you want to skip buying that first volume and just get the couple issues that explain the most important parts of the setup. Best part in there is when they have Cap use the Infinity gauntlet to try to push one of the universes away, I won't spoil what happens.
I use comicbookherald.com for Marvel reading orders. I'd refer to that to see where any Fantastic Four stuff falls in, since you mentioned that as well. The Avengers books are going to have Reed Richards doing what he does, he's pivotal along with the rest of the Illuminati.
This is the one I have. The prices are insane so if you do some digging you should be able to find it for cheaper. Should be around $100
Wolverine Omnibus, Vol. 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/0785134778/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_p5D7zb0ZF2E3J
Big Time Volume 4 is set to be released in either June or July of this year. It will collect issues 688-697, as well as Avenging Spider-Man 11, and Alpha: Big Time 1-5.
For issues 698-700, I recommend picking up the Superior Spider-Man volume 1 OHC.
