You're good, just don't leave her alone with any Mexicans or colored people and limit your stay to open carry states so you can keep your AR-15 strapped to your back at all times.
PS: if you live in some commie bullshit country that doesn't allow assault rifles, make sure Walmart is your first stop so that you can pick up a good ol' American made AR-15 for under 130$ before you venture out into the wild.
So your best bet is getting a pay-as-you-go android phone. But maybe dongles are a possibility.
In the use, pay-as-you-go and pre-paid may both be used to describe the same thing.
Most US carriers have "coverage maps", which give you an indication of signal strength.
Here is something I found after a second of googlling: http://www.virginmobileusa.com/mobile-broadband-plans/broadband-2-go/overview/ and this too, which may be promising: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/verizon-wireless-prepaid-verizon-novatel-usb-modem/9609316.p?id=1218131339743&skuId=9609316 You may need to order this online, and ship to somewhere which could pick it up in the US.
In general, be cognizant the Verizon has the best coverage in the US, but is more expensive. I don't know about thiier pre-paid plans, however.
I'd try to find which "department" stores (US stores like Target, even Wal-Mart) or electronic stores (Best Buy) you'll have access too; there may be other options on the east coast. Sometimes even grocery stores sell pre-paid phones, but sometimes not.
8 ounces for $3.59. 16 ounces per pound. About 2.2 pounds per kg. That comes to $15.80 per kg. https://www.amazon.com/Velveeta-Original-Cheese-8-oz/dp/B01JIMD2C8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2C9G9NBDGIGDR&keywords=velveeta+cheese+block&qid=1657113788&sprefix=veveeta%2Caps%2C95&sr=8-3
We typically tip bellhops, hotel maid service, coatroom attendants, waitstaff at sit-down restaurants, parking valets, taxi drivers, tour guides, and, if you're here long enough to need a haircut, barbers/hairdressers. These are just a few of the services we typically tip for. Who we tip is pretty much ingrained in us as we grow up seeing it happen everywhere. I can imagine it's pretty complicated for people visiting from countries that don't have a tipping culture. This page might be of some help. As a side note (I didn't see it mentioned in any of the other comments), be prepared for sales tax when you go shopping. The price you add up in your head while shopping most likely will not be what you pay when you get to the register (it depends on what you're buying and where you're buying it—some things aren't taxed and not every state has it). Once you know where you'll be visiting, it would be a good idea to get an idea of the sales tax rate for each area so you'll be a little more prepared at the register if you plan on using cash.
Is this a serious question? This isn't the first worldwide pandemic. There is research on these things, history to look at, and the data from how this thing has spread and multiplied the past 5 or 6 months.
Also, this is live data:

these are all great suggestions! welcome to america :) i've lived over-seas, and i've lived in several states over here, and from my experience, i'd say that you'll have a good, welcoming time when you're living here. it's not hard to get used to. people will be pretty open generally, and you can almost always ask a stranger for information, assuming they have the time to stick around and talk. you will find things and customs that are strange at first, obviously, but it will feel normal within a few months.
like any other country, you'll come in contact with people who will be mean, but honestly, that is a very rare occurrence - it all depends on where you live/cultural differences/class of neighborhood.
i'd say, get to know a few people when you move here. you'll always find the best information from locals, and i'd say most of us americans are usually really open and willing to connect with new residents. ask about the best places to eat, and the best supermarkets/local establishments to pick up your staple goods. you'll be able to pick out the spots nearest you, and assuming you have a mobile smart-phone, you can even gps anything that you need to find.
public transportation seems pretty good in chicago, and you can find a little more info here. my mom's from chicago, and it's a really interesting and diverse area - i'd say, once you're settled in with a job and secure in your new habitat, explore the nation! if you don't have a car, you can rent one from a Budget or Enterprise or Hertz location (usually near airports) and snag a good deal; visit other states whenever is feasible for you, and just get a feel for the nation. it's an exciting place, and i hope you enjoy it!

Minnesota has its own brand of political party, DFL, this is in place of the Democratic party. Only MN and ND are like this.
The American view of Muslims was not just about Cold War politics. There is a cultural stereotype that long predates the Cold War.
Jack Shaheen has written a wonderful book about Hollywood portrayals of Arabs and Muslims called "Reel Bad Arabs" https://www.amazon.com/Reel-Bad-Arabs-Hollywood-Vilifies/dp/1566567521/
