Today Decred (DCR) was listed on Upbit, and it caused a huge spike in the price of DCR on Bittrex too, increasing 90% in one hour.
I've found a pattern where the price of a particular coin spikes on other exchanges as soon as that coin gets listed on Upbit. The following table shows the price growth in one hour once the mentioned coin was newly listed on Upbit (average growth of 74%).
- | Decred (DCR) | Ontology (ONT) | Ignis (IGNIS) | Gifto (GTO) | Siacoin (SC) | Tron (TRX) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Date | May 4 | May 3 | May 1 | April 27 | April 26 | April 5 |
Growth (%) | 90 | 35 | 167 | 40 | 87 | 27 |
Exchange | Bittrex | Binance | Bittrex | Binance | Bittrex | Binance |
(The data is based on information pulled from BitUniverse)
You might not have an account on Upbit, but if you start following Upbit's updates to find coins that are soon to be listed, you can consider buying that coin on your exchange of choice as the chance that it will grow sharply in the near future is very high, although note that after it's spiked it will also fall very quickly as well, so pay close attention to the price!
BitUniverse will soon support a notification service so that once we get news that Upbit or another exchange is about to list a new coin, we will push the news to you. Hopefully it will add value to help you earn more profit
You will probably have to use Google Translate to translate Upbit from Korean to English, although it can be a bit spotty. Decred when translated comes out as Dick Red DRC (yeah, seriously...)
Happy Trading!

UX design for crypto apps is incredibly difficult. When making the portfolio app BitUniverse we've found that it's a very delicate balancing act between making something that's clean and understandable, and giving users all the information they need at one time.
For example, our landing page is the user's portfolio overview page. The idea of this page is to give users a top down overview of their entire portfolio, so we have statistics showing daily profit, total balance etc, and even a graph so that people can easily see at a glance how their coins have been performing over the past month. Below that we have some specifics of held coins, but we can only include a limited amount of data before the screen starts to look cluttered.
This is a difficult issue that a lot of apps in this space need to solve. A lot of them are financially oriented and therefore intrinsically complicated, so working out how to make things as easy as possible for users to learn & use on a daily basis requires a lot of time and experimentation.
You can also try bituniverse. It's free a grid bot and the worst-case scenarios are:
1) Price goes up outside the grid and the bot just sits and waits (sells everything on the last grid);
2) Price goes down outside the grid and hits the stop loss (optional);
You would have to find a sideways moving pair and may have to adjust the bot frequently.
The profits are not huge and I'm still experimenting with it so take this with a grain of salt.
BitUniverse is a slick app and supports like 200+ exchanges. No need to settle into a single exchange when you can use whichever you want for particular trading pairs. They have Android, iOS, and Webapp.
I discovered https://www.bituniverse.org/ last week. This one I am really impressed, as it uses API to track all your transactions over multiple exchanges. This means you can track the profitability of every trade you make - really. It looks very much like Delta, but I think it is a little bit further developed With Delta I had issues with the Kraken API to sync my ledger, but Bituniverse synced all my historical transactions - and there are many I can tell you.
