It's free to sign up and use. I have members that have been using the site for over 10 years without ever having paid a dime.
The site offers a premium upgrade which is $5/mo. This premium upgrade gives a lot more features and tools which can help you out. All of the premium features are found here: https://www.clearcheckbook.com/premium
I've never and will never sell any user data. That's one of the core beliefs that I've held onto while building and running the site. All income I make is through the premium signups.
You might like ClearCheckBook.com. It combines the manual entry of Excel with the cloud capability to update/view from your smartphone(Apple and Android apps are available) or any web-browser.
Hey, any chance you know ClearCheckBook? Could you compare YNAB to it, and persuade me why is it better?
I started using the free verison of CC last year, but slacked off with it, but so far I don't see anything "extra" in YNAB what would make it worthy to purchase it.

Basically a web / app based check register. Does not actually connect to any accounts so it is pretty safe.
I use it but I have not done a deep analysis of it so take that into consideration.
Thanks for linking to ClearCheckbook! I'm the guy who created and runs the site. It's free to sign up and use. We have a premium version as /u/rtwright68 mentioned but we never force anyone to upgrade.
If you're a student with a valid .edu email address you can get a year of ClearCheckbook Premium for free as well. If you're interested in ClearCheckbook.com, simply shoot us an email through our contact form and ask if you can try the premium membership out for a month. I'd be happy to set that up for you. Just mention you came from Reddit in the message!
