So I've read but it never worked for me on my current windows tablet.. I think this only works for USB attached storage (I do it this way on my mac with external USB drives and it works). I use Dropbox Portable AHK which is a hack, and occasionally stops working for weeks/months at a time as Dropbox tries to shut it down.. But it's gotten me by for the most part.. I don't want to fight with it any more.. I just want 256/512gb of local storage like iPads have.
I love keepass.
I keep a copy of my database on a usb key and sync it using Portable Dropbox. I can then used the synced copy on my droid as well.
Couldn't recommend it enough.
I don't think so.
Alternatively, what I do, is I carry around a flash drive with a PortableApps suite on it anyway, so I installed DropboxPortableAHK on it, and it keeps all of the Dropbox stuff (including application files) straight on the flash drive. The host computer never sees the Dropbox app files.
You will need a computer with admin rights to first set it up, though, but after that, you can take it anywhere.
Thanks for mentioning that app! Definitely going to be using it.
For those interested, here's a portable dropbox program that will allow you to have multiple accounts on your computer at once: http://nionsoftware.com/dbpahk/instructions
Just wanted to toss my referral link into here as well:
For those of you not aware, there is a program called DropboxPortableAHK that allows you to run Dropbox without installing it. This program is portable, so you can run it and place a Dropbox on any flash drive, external hard drive, etc. This also can allow you to run and sync more than one Dropbox account easily. (eg. having separate home and office Dropbox accounts) It is available at the link below!
