Sorry, not sure about Notepadd++ but I know Textmate will do this with the 'convert characters to entities' command in the HTML bundle.
Textmate is Mac only, there is an PC clone though. http://www.e-texteditor.com/
Not sure if it's as good as Textmate, but even if it's half as good it's worth the money. Maybe something to look into.....?
If VIM is out of the question, then I'd suggest this: http://www.e-texteditor.com/
It's essentially Textmate for Windows. If you're only referencing coda because of the block edit feature, then E is probably what you are looking for. It doesn't have a built in FTP client etc...
Perhaps e text editor or komodo edit will suit your needs. You can always get Vim/Emacs to do what you want, but I suspect they're both more hassle than you want to take on right now given your desire to be close to Eclipse.
I'm pretty sure that this is what Notepad++ does as well - except that the process is automated. I believe that we'll see FTP integration be a part of the core Sublime application somewhere along the line. Maybe if you drop a line to Will (the author of the plugin), he'll consider adding that to his next update - he's very receptive to feedback!
As I've mentioned in some of my previous comments, there's the awesome Webdrive which you can use on Windows, in order to allow for direct file access - this loads up the FTP/SFTP/Amazon S3 server as a partition in Windows, and you can interact with it as you would with a normal file system. This is the fastest and most efficient solution out of all the ones that I've tested on Windows, excluding the plugin.
If FTP integration is very important for you, I suggest having a look at E-Text Editor, one of the really awesome solutions if you're developing on Windows. FTP integration is very good on that one, and you still get the great TextMate-y feel + bundles.
When I'm working on Windows, I'm still using WebDrive, since it's so natural to use. When working on things all UNIX, I use the plugin instead, since fuse has very slow access speeds for this particular connection.
I can't imagine switching to a different text editor any-time soon - been using Sublime for a good couple of months now, and I can't remember how life used to be before I could open every file in my project by just typing for it.
It's one character, what were you expecting? A Google search for "E Textmate" brings it up as the first result. You're welcome.
