I use Calibre on a server and Firefox with a plugin: http://www.epubread.com/en/
I navigate to my library, which has all the nice covers and metadata and I can read epubs in the browser.
It'd be a little harder if the netbook was Chrome OS, I haven't found an equivalent Chrome plugin.
Calibre and Kindle app both work fine here. There is one more I use sometimes: ePUBReader is an add-on for the buggy but sometimes useful (because of add-ons) Firefox -- it uses the browser itself as the ebook reader: http://www.epubread.com/en/
Howard Lovecraft is definitely up there. Very good.
Check out this addon I found today, lets you read epub books from firefox, and even has listings from huge websites with lots of books!!
