An implementation of the feedly API (gitlab).
Started to rewrite some components of my rss application in Rust. If all goes well, I'll try to rewrite the whole thing. Not happy with the original code anymore.
I'm just using the news app on my Nextcloud install.
If you're just looking for an RSS reader, Nextcloud is an overkill. But if you're already using Nextcloud, it's quite convenient and I haven't experienced upon a slightest inconvenience using it.
I combine it with Nextcloud News app in the Play Store and FeedReader on my desktop, though there are plenty other third party clients.
FeedReader is a modern desktop application designed to complement existing web-based RSS accounts. It combines all the advantages of web based services like synchronisation across all your devices with everything you expect from a modern desktop application. https://jangernert.github.io/FeedReader/
I've used Liferea for a long time but I'm currently a fan of FeedReader. It works ok, can be synchronized to Feedly, Owncloud, InoReader, etc., and has a nice interface.
> New apps like gnome-music and gnome-calendar still suck
Care to elaborate even more? I tested the Music preview but found good enough for a preview, but not polished enough to be released (3.16).
I am really awaiting the calender as Thunderbird + Iceowl is quite annoying. I only need basic adding and editing, nothing special.
> Gnome-news
Never even heard of it. (And it is not in the repo).
I found this app and compiled it. And it really is great. Still not perfect, but already better than liferea: Feedreader
