I've tried to imagine how I could. Before Metro ever came along, I was attracted to the idea of snapping full sized windows to a grid like this program supposedly will, but the more I think about it, there are just too many cases like this one

where having the ability to make something tiny visible, or accessible, and just out of the way is too important. Not only that, there never is a "right size" for almost anything. I have many different Chrome windows of all different sizes depending on whether I have reddit open, or amazon.com, or "work", because some windows are better wide, and some are better tall, and some are better as tiny slivers. Variably sized split screen would be better, but still nowhere near as good as a free form overlapping windows.
All that considered, classic Windows really is ideal when you're seated at a computer. I know Metro will fail, because it is regressive in this context, even if a lot of people haven't figured our how or why just yet.
