Hmmmm..
OK. Your originally stated problem is that your system tries to boot but gives an error message "Operating System not found". This means it cannot boot from your installed hard drive (the hard drive has either failed or it the necessary files need to start your computer are not on the hard drive.
You got a suggestion to download Ubuntu and put on a flash drive and use that to start your computer. You cannot just download it to a flash drive and plug into your computer and start it. The flash drive has to be bootable for this to work (need to use a special tool to do this such as this.
Next, your computer is set to boot from your hard drive. You need to go into your computer's setup (BIOS) and change it so that it will boot from the USB drive before trying to boot from the hard drive.
To access the computer's setup (BIOS) program, turn on the computer and immediately start pressing the F10 key. Press it repeatedly about once per second. You need to look thru the options in these menus and screens for "Boot Priority" or similar wording and place the USB flash drive before the hard drive. DO NOT CHANGE any other setting here unless you know what it does.
