Somebody still using chrome might be living under a rock. If you want to chrome like features then go with kinza browser https://www.kinza.jp/en/. I happily made the transition. Google releases software, trackers and other things that made it heavy where somebody should understand why chrome is never happy with whatever ram you provide.
Mobile or desktop?
For mobile I'll suggest you to go with bromite browser or iceraven browser both are on GitHub.
And for desktop go with Brave browser (but it's sluggish) or kinza browser (https://www.kinza.jp/en/) (lighter and faster version of chromium browsers) or Firefox nightly.
Vivaldi has complications and sync is half tales while sites will still doesn't support it.
If you are going to rely on chrome and firefox for all and have over multiple extensions apart from few basic ones on a medicore device then you are on your own. But if you go with chromium based alts and firefox based alts which you can check via the link provided and do experiments then you can have better result.

For example, I have 15 years old desktop hardware that has issues and cant play properly all the latest softwares. So instead of using chrome, I use cent browser and Kinza browser (https://www.kinza.jp/en/download/?platform=windows_x86) and opera beta portable in folder. Also I use yandex browser (https://browser.yandex.com/) which is way to simple and lightweight chrome alt that does the job without being a pain. Also alongside I dont use 64 bit which often takes way too many resources to open even basic news sites and yt so instead I use 32 bit which works great on 64 bit windows installed and already on 32 bit windows 7. I hope you would look into the words and links I have shared and provide me what worked otherwise you will need to upgrade your device according to current market standards.
Instead use Kinza browser. I also have issues and problems with browser basic functionality. It is much better and faster and less consumer than opera and Yandex as the latter now asks for account to save even basic bookmarks. Somebody recommended me and now it is all great. Also if you still want to use opera then use 32 bit or different version from here.
Avoid that also. Vivaldi is very slow very dead and doesn't consider user reviews or suggestions or problems. If you are looking for opera alternatives then try to go with kinza browser. I am using it alongside opera as I have stopped using Vivaldi. Let me know if you want to know anything.
I am using Kinza (tried both 32 and 64 bit and found the former to be way faster and less consumer in comparison to the latter but the latter is also better than other chrome types of browsers). Also, you can try the beta version of the opera. Also, the Yandex browser is also there that won't let you down. Let me know if your problem eases out. Been where you have been so I know what it feels like to not get a solution.
