It also depends on what your idea of a presskit is :)
I agree custom pitches are the only way to get results. How do you do that, then? Maybe you pitch using your gmail, then add a link to pics in your dropbox public folder, maybe you install yesware to check if your email gets opened. You also may want to open a blog to share news and insights about your business.
A PR toolkit - like pr.co but there are many - does all of the above and helps you look more professional when reaching out to influencers. It's both a pitching tool to send and track custom emails and the perfect back-up with all the additional information that can help craft a story.
If this adds value to your startup, it's up to you to decide.
Hey there, Lorenzo from pr.co here. As everything around startups, it’s a matter of priorities. How much do you value your developers’ time? What’s your marketing budget?
Of course you can decide to build your own pressroom, but imho this will always prove to be more expensive than paying for a 3rd-party solution.
Using pr.co - or any other toolkit in this market - let your team focus on building your product and gives you flexibility / customization / support. I.e. you can embed your pressroom in your website in many different ways.
I’m also open to discuss our pricing at any time, but maybe that’s not relevant on Reddit - you can email me at
Glad to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
