For anyone wanting something similar, local, and a tad more customizable:

I've been using it for a fair few months now, pretty nice. There's also http://espressoreader.com/ but I'm not as keen on it, bit too clunky and requires you follow places with biggish images in their RSS feeds or everything gets really pixelated. Either way both solve the problem of "going to 13 different sites" and looking pretty.
Oh and for iOS/Android users: Pulse News
@OP: I notice you suggesting adding adverts and/or donations, may I suggest you don't do that. RSS feeds are for non-commercial use. Adverts/donations = making money = commercial. Also I'm maybe missing some option in the site somewhere, but where are the other 12 sites?
Readefine is quite good. I like its newspaper/magazine layout and it's easy to flip through and see content. It's an Adobe Air application, which isn't too thrilling. But it does the job so well.
Syncs with google reader nice-nice.
