), but I know Kate is decent enough, Scribes tries to be equivalent of TextMate on Linux, the free version of Komodo is nice even if you're not coding in Python, also Eclipse if you have a machine big enough to master it and you need an IDE.

The easiest is probably using Scribes Theme Generator. You open the JSON VS Code theme and copy the colors into Scribes.
Another option is GtkSourceSchemer.
Another Edit, there's some themes designed for color modification. I think arc is one of them
