Best bet. You can also run GetDataBack NTFS from within wine, it works surprisingly well. It isn't free but is available on torrent sites if you roll like that. Also Scrounge NTFS which is free and could theoretically run without wine, i think? BTW if you're looking for a premade live CD, Parted Magic is pretty good.
