I had similar issues w/Tunnelblick and moved to Viscosity (http://www.thesparklabs.com/viscosity).
It's not free (close though, at $9), but on a dozen or so Macs along with my own, it's been a pleasure to use/support and has been much more stable.
I am so sold.
I'm guessing this is what you're speaking about. Is it fairly straight forward? Essentially comes up with a foreign IP address for any websites that you access?
It's funny you suggest it, because I was in the states two weeks ago, and was blown away by the content that I had at my fingertips through my same old Netflix account. All because I was online through an American ISP. If that's what it mimics, Netflix just became amazing. (And it's also interesting that the account doesn't seem to be region specific on their end, instead going by whatever IP address you have at that moment.)
