WebGazer (https://www.webgazer.io) is an uptime monitoring and analytics platform. It also offers public status pages that reflects the monitoring data it collects.
You can also post a message to be shown on the status page, if you want to have a non-automatic message in case of an incident. You can see https://status.webgazer.io for an example.
Not for months but years more likely, I have been using mainly django and django-rest-framework while building WebGazer. REST API is consumed by multiple frontends (website, web application and status pages). There is also an async task queue that uses django's ORM comprehensively.
