I suggest you complete it with Windows 10 Firewall Control (free version), very lightweight as it's just a pleasant interface to Windows' own firewall. It will show you active connections, open ports, the rules you defined and alert you when something unknown wants to phone home – so you can allow or block as you wish.

Prohibiting software to access the Internet is easily done with the Windows firewall, but its interface isn't user friendly.
For that I recommend Windows 10 Firewall Control which works very nicely. The free version is enough, and there is even a portable one.
It blocks anything by default, and then you allow access, or not, as you see fit. Great for privacy.
