What is Reddit's opinion of Xee?

There are at least 20+ similar apps that can be found in Mac App Store and other indie developers' websites, and most had been existed for a decades or two. It's not because that a system is not capable to do something, but you just didn't bother finding a solution.

BTW, I've tested Pixea before but I found Xsee3 (https://theunarchiver.com/xee) is way much faster. And for free and rich features, XnViewMP (https://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/) is the best choice.

In my case, the crash was due to Graphics card and its OpenCL function. Pls run any OpenCL benchmark tool and it will crash.
