There's different types of VPN. There's a corporate VPN such as Cisco AnyConnect, this is for business. Then there is "Anonymizers", they change your IP address into something that can't be traced back to you, such as Private Internet Access. Then there is literal "VPN's", which stands for "virtual private network", done by software such as Hamachi, and it's intended purpose is to create large LAN's, so you and your friend can play Playstation together.
I have been using PIA and other VPNs (Mullvad, StrongVPN, Anonymizer) for years now. I consider myself very informed on VPN and have helped spread the word about VPN to many other redditors.
I have no reason to doubt PIA. These are the same guys from Bitcoin (and they are one of the few that accept Bitcoin), and they sponsor EFF. They have more servers than any of the other VPNs, and you can see that difference with their speeds. Plus, they take bitcoin. Any provider that doesn't, you should be skeptical of.
PIA is highly recommended, and I don't think I am alone in this thinking.
One of the ways that the Anonymizer works is to use a name that someone used to have, but they changed it (or deleted their account maybe?). In theory, this leads to believable sounding usernames that may not be immediately recognized as an “Anonymizer username”, which maybe somewhat defeats the point? IDK, anyway that’s the theory.
Of course, WG forgot that that list also includes names that were forcibly changed because they broke the rules for being offensive, so things like this pop up.
It was absolutely necessary. I went dark on day one when Anonymizer rolled out. Games have been a little more peaceful as a blue player. Absolutely less artillery focus.
Working as intended and a great gift from WG.
Anonymizer uses names that were used, but are now free. Which means if you had a name change, or if you had you account deleted, including banned, the name is free to use for anonymizer. Which leads to a large number of anti-semitic, pro-nazi and similar name to be in the pool.

You can try using OpenDNS, but it easy to get around if you know what you're doing or can use google.

Heard a report here in Ireland that 50% of 13yo had seen porn, phones in the playground seems to be a common route.
Look for VPN services, they are the ones you need to change your IP to the one located in another continent. Anonymizer, NordVPN have a lot of servers to change IP. And yes, I suggest changing it and connecting to different ones every time
I remember how one of the Lulzsec members were caught because of HideMyAss (except they don't even need a security letter apparently).
Also some FBI audiences at Tor presentations have claimed that Anonymizer gives information on users, and complained that TOR does not.
Anonymizer does not give you a gameplay advantage... I don't see how playing the game with a default UI gives gives you an advantage over "noobs." Seeing all players as equal makes the game easier??? You got me there.
IP address anonymization/hiding is not a function performed by software; it's a service provided by some other person/company, who replaces your IP address with theirs. The service provider promises not to release, or to release only in certain circumstances, the relationship between your IP address, your login information, and the externally visible IP address that they're using on your behalf.
That service often requires software to be installed on your device; but the privacy actually is created by the service.
So you shouldn't be looking for programs, but for anonymization/VPN services. I have been happy with Private Internet Access for VPN, but I use VPN more for security than for anonymization. is probably the vendor who has been doing this the longest. has a catchy name but actually logs traffic and doesn't provide a lot of privacy if someone comes after you.
I'm glad to see more of them accepting cash in the mail. I'm beginning to think this entire list can be culled down to just a few that accept cash. It is had to imagine that the company isn't serous about privacy when they accept cash as a payment method.

Definitely improved, technology has improved. I had my first VPN in 1997, Anonymizer. They didn't even make their own software, you had to buy F-Secure secure tunneling software to make it work. So yes it was unreliable, slow and sometimes didn't work at all but for the time there weren't many other choices.
Anonymizer sure is for avoiding xvm but as purple dude I use it so enemy arty doesnt go "Oh enemy got purple 140, im not gonna focus him like xvm focus cause I dont xvm focus mit let me just kill him first". Also its quite fun when people start trash talking me before knowing my stats and they are yellow/green :)
I needed a VPN for privacy so I was recommended to check NordVPN or Anonymizer and went with Nord because it also has P2P servers. I was told that free VPNs sell your data to third parties or are limited in data so I got a paid one instead.
You can do that. To hide your name enable the Anonymizer in the general settings. You can also disable chat there too.
That being said, if you can handle the trolls I would strongly encourage keeping the chat up because every once and a while there will be an experienced player who tries to help you out.
Excuse the double post but for those who haven't been following, today is the last chance for many VPN providers to get great deals. Including :-
PrivateInternetAccess, TorGuard, , LiquidVPN, Overplay, Invisible Browsing VPN and Anonymizer.
It's a sad reality that most VPNs are pressured to log and spy on their customers. I have seen only one that makes an attempt to be transparent and prevent this on the technical side.
Trust being abused is a common theme in this business.
Just a lil example: There was a time where many people had trust in Anonymizer (another VPN). Later sometime LE asked another VPN provider on a conference "Why can't you be just like Anonymizer? We ask them about the data and just get it". Was a rough day for most people.
Generally i would not trust any VPN whatsoever as you have to trust them. Just too many turned out to act adversarial and lie.
As long as there are systems like Tor, where you do not have to trust any individual node i will use them.
- Liquibase for migrations unless you prefer an ORM to do that.
- pg_sample to setup a sample database and Postgresql Anonymizer on fields you want masked.
- There’s no obligation to create foreign/primary keys, you can keep your database de-normalized if you want and essentially treat it like a NoSQL type of database.
- Create indexes for performance issues, no need to go wild here.
Main points for me are
- L2 integration - high transaction fee reduction. THEY PUT THIS ON HIGH PRIORITY by moving it up from Q2 2021 to Q1 2021
- Limit orders
- Anonymizer - think of it like monero
- Cross-chain integrations - currently it's only between binance smart chain and ethereum chain. hopefully they add more like avalanche's if they integrate pangolin
If that pisses you off so much then you probably did not have a look at all the options WG gives you for your own "protection"
Just to name a few: Anonymizer, Turn off Team Chat, Deactivate Messages from People outside of your Friend List
You could use the Anonymizer to reduce toxicity towards you.
This will not protect you from those people in the future (after the game), but it can help reducing hate from people that don't like your statistics while in a game.

Anonymizer gives players the privacy they should have, which protects them from being focused or getting harassed for having bad stats. That's it, really.
Everyone has the right to privacy. Nobody should see your stats during the battle. This feature was more than necessary for the game and people who cannot accept that are simply too entitled and pathetic.
People, who are getting angry at others for using the Anonymizer, cannot accept the fact, that it's an actual feature, unlike XVM. Getting mad at others for not being able to quickly judge them is quite pathetic, really...
Anonymizer is for ultimate alpha males. Either you are a red tomato that has an alpha life outside of the game and dont want to be harassed by virgin tryhards, or you are the unicum who is the alpha inside the game. Only the queers who are struggling to become either one of these alpha variants would whine about it.

Is there anyone able to recommended a working VPN to view other Countries Netflix libraries. I was using UnblockUs for around a year, until Netflix decided to block everything. I was running Anonymizer, and still am, but it doesnt change the server following your name, so they would easily be able to see I wasnt a russian. Rather, I think they just did it because they're assholes, but anything is a possibility.

APFS MinVersion was changed by OC-Anonymizer for some reason. The actual values in my config are already 0.
I went through logs for hours again now and I found that the seal of my disk is broken right before reboot. If I do sudo diskutil apfs list while running it says it's sealed. So nothing to repair either. I'm beginning to suspect it's my SSD or something. I know nvme drives can be incompatible but can sata drive be too? It's an OCZ TR-150 500GB.

Is she using a VPN on her laptop? Is it an apple laptop? Is she using some sort of Proxy/Anonymizer? All can have issues because there are single exit IP’s for a lot of traffic.
If it’s a Mac - disable iCloud Private Relay.
In general, CloudFlare doesn’t keep blocks in place for more than a few hours to days. So whatever the block is is probably due to repeated “offenses”.

I retained my passion and interest for managing my own health and try to save all diagnostic imaging that I handle using freely available DICOM software.
Many of the free, Open Source, DICOM viewers like MicroDicom, come with a "DICOM Anonymizer" feature that removes patient information.
Since it requires an application install, it's certainly not as easy as the OPs suggestion, but I thought I would share to add value to your post.

Treating every enemy with respect and as a much better way of playing. Half the good players use Anonymizer with a snowflake badge to pretend to be a bad player. Also seeing the red and orange team mates is just depressing.
How to enable the Anonymizer
Go to [Settings] > [Game] tab and in the lower left part of the window, check the box [Anonymize your nickname in battle]. NOTE: you cannot turn this on or off while you are in battle.
After turning on the Anonymizer, other players in battle will see you with a randomly generated nickname.
You can either turn off the Proxy/Anonymizer option in OpenDNS website or you can add domain in the whitelist.
To whitelist a website in OpenDNS, you need to login to your OpenDNS account, in the settings, navigate to your network and select Web Content Filtering options.
Scroll until you find a text says "Manage Individual Domains".

Change Always Block to Never Block, write in the textbox and press Add Domain.

I have stopped using xvm (or any mod in general) years ago because in my opinion players with more than 800 wn8 are equally inpredictable (and Im too lazy to update all the time). A 1200wn8 51% Winrate dude can just as well know his tank and general rotations as well as a 2400 wn8 58% wr Player can just camp and wank with goldrounds without contributing anything but dmg on low-prio targets, whilst a 400 wn8 45% wr guy will just ape around 95% of the time anyway. Plus the Anonymizer (which Im so glad about that it exists) "randomizes" the ingame stat-prediction up a fair bit.
I also work in IT, but I’m the one making the rules lol, you’ve got a couple options depending on your security level. If you have permissions to do so change your DNS IPv4 IPs, if you’re in a domain environment, this could absolutely wreck your ability to do anything, therefore do so at your own risk. Use an only proxy or Anonymizer, but your filtering may block that as well. Setup remote access to a home PC. logmein, teamviewer, Splashtop, google chrome Remote Desktop. Setup audio to flow through remote and just play YouTube from home through work PC. There’s other options but they’re a bit more difficult.
If you're not worried about clan wars for now then stay on the same account. Having lower wn8 displayed to other players is a blessing. Arty targets you less and people will underestimate you. Anonymizer was one of the better changes they've made because hiding my stats helps with those a little bit but showing 400 wn8 instead of hidden would help even more, but also because me not being able to see other people's wn8 forces me to take everyone seriously rather than seeing low wn8 players and thinking I could play more recklessly against them which I did all the time and it often hurt my performance.
Anonymizer doesn't change your nickname. If we get a report that a username is inappropriate, we'll search and see that it's in the banned names. Inappropriate names/clans get renamed, I don't believe we give sanctions for that.

Where did I say it "ruins" someone's game when you kill them? I said it "ruins" someone's game when you purposely throw your tank to kill them. From the receiving end's perspective, is that not the case? You can lose a lot of hp or straight up die, and therefore have a shit game, because someone decided that they are worth less than you.
Anonymizer doesn't help that much. I've also tried multiple badges.
I think we just had a misunderstanding. That second part was basically saying it's silly to call it ruining someone's game to kill them. After all, good players kill red tanks all the time and we don't consider it ruining the red tanks game, you know?
But is your purple dark enough to get yolo'd every other game by shitters?
I'm a low level unicum, but either way I use anonymizer so I don't really think it makes a difference for my circumstances. Anonymizer has been great, back before it existed the arty focus and yolo'ing was real. Even back when I was blue recent/teal overall it was real man, though that was years ago when fewer players were at purple overalls.
How about PostgreSQL Anonymizer?
You write security masks and it anonymizes the data either at query time or on dump, or you can use it to override data in place. Works pretty well overall.
Anonymizer has 2 different types of names it uses:
Names previously used by real players who changed their name
AI machine that stitches together random bits to make a new name
It isn’t just a word list that makes the names, this name was probably the former.
To concentrate the ranked players to one time period which raises the number of people in the MM. Otherwise you would be waiting for ages to get into a game. Even with this, you still see the same players again and again, at least on NA. Anonymizer makes it less obvious sometimes but it's still hard to miss.
Also if it ran 24/7 I guarantee you that someone would go to SA server and rig matches with bots at 4 in the morning.
XVM only promotes players mindlessly focusing other players and yoloing purely based on colors. Overall good players have bad games. Overall bad players have good games. Anonymizer works half the time because of course people focus on such players as well because "they must be hiding they're good". Ultimately though, this is on YOUR company for allowing such mods in the first fucking place, in a PvP based multiplayer game no less. That is disgusting and no fair PvP game would allow such a thing, but then again when has WoT being fair, right? Good for WG since they have no real competition because if WoT was an FPS (to name an overly saturated genre), the game would sink faster than the Titanic.
he posted demos of his “Algorand Anonymizer” a few weeks ago. may be worth partnering since the Algoneer brand has been around at least a few months. fair amount of name recognition with similar goals.
You might have a point there but i don't think they'll survive too long by providing incorrect information.
When the Anonymizer is either NO or VPN, then everything looks good on data that they provide.
But we cannot depend on any company's words - whoer or proton - and need to do our own due diligence, isn't it?
It happened already. As soon as the Great Anonymizer^(TM) of the interwebs came, every condescending fucktard in the world with access to it started assuming they were older, which translated (mostly incorrectly) into wiser, than whatever person they were arguing with but could not see. I got called "kid" the other day by just such a fucktard, and I'm over 60.
If it matters that much to you, just use the inbuilt Anonymizer. It'll hide your username and stats in game. I don't see much harrassment from players about statistics unless you're playing higher tier games, 7+ mostly, but it'll depend on what server you're playing on.
If you want to pad your stats, you'll want stay in the lower tiers, about 3-5. You can either, keep an eye out for OP tanks that come on sale in those tiers. Or, for free to play, find a tank you really enjoy playing and that you understand well. There's several choices, but it'll depend on your play style.
Once you start improving, then you'll be able to start moving up in the tiers and see your other statistics (average DMG, DMG blocked, etc) start to improve as well. Those statistics you can't really control at lower tiers; the calibre of guns are just completely different at higher tiers. (E.g. my StuG at tier 5 has an average damage of 135. While my Jpgz E100 at tier 10 has an average damage roll of 1050).
It's not easy for a company to block all VPN traffic but it can largely be achieved by determining the protocol the VPN is using and block the ports for that protocol (eg for OpenVPN connections UDP ports 1194, 1197, 1198, 8080, 9201 and 53 as well as TCP ports 502, 501, 443, 110, 80.)
Alternately, services like OpenDNS offer robust one-click blocking of the category Proxy/Anonymizer in the OpenDNS dashboard.
(contra)Opposite-XVM would be feeding xvm'ers fake stats, not just denying them extra info. Spoofing unicum stats would be an example of the opposite. Anonymizer is a return to default.
Player experience should be all you need to make predictions during battle. (reading the scoreboard/reading the map).
Xvm, over vanilla UI, allows you to mitigate risk/ optimize engagements.
I set and forget the anonymizer option, it doesn't change the way I play. IMO stat checking is fine post-battle, if youre curious about who you just played with.

Looking at search it was posted a lot about 3 months ago - Since then they've done the following:

Agents also have to pay for their own background is a little sleazy if you ask me. $45...I think this might also be a revenue stream for them. I have employees that I require background & credit checks due to the nature of my business and I only paid $30 for the last one I did about 2 months ago.

Enable logging on all your rules.
That will be enough to get the App-ID going. Keep in mind that without SSL decryption it's working with limited data - most stuff will be ssl.
If you got a lot of Chrome in your user base - make sure to have top rule denying QUIC otherwise.
Good preventive measure is to block all but sanctioned VPN apps and Proxy/Anonymizer apps/sites.

I'd say your work laptop has the Umbrella roaming client installed. It will apply filtering rules on that laptop no matter what network you're on. You can infer if your employer blocked the whole Proxy/Anonymizer category by browsing to different VPN providers—they should all show up blocked.
If you need VPN on your work laptop, it's best you connect to your office's network.
Anonymizer mode was made for you then, no one can tell if you're good or bad.
And I don't really believe the part about not using the cheats, you have to intentionally install them. They don't install on their own.

And for you disagreeing with his critique of the current state of the game, you have to try to see it from his perspective, a skilled player's. All WG has done in the last three years is to lower the influence of skilled players and introduce mechanics (crutches) for the average skilled to be competitive. The rewards of being good at the game do not compensate for getting shat on by arty and other crutch mechanics every single game.

Under Anonymizer I see the option "Switch to Quickchat Only Mode During Kickoff" I'm guessing I need to enable this setting and then inside Rocket League set all chats to off.
Is that correct or am I missing something?

Is this straight up a mask built for going and attacking protesters?
I've had a mixed bag of results ever since i turned the Anonymizer on last week. Im not always focused down by the enemy SPG but sometimes i'll receive the undivided attention from all 3 SPGs. I had an enemy on multiple occassions ignore an easily pennable friendly in front of me just to focus me down. They usually (but not always) died in the process of performing such a bold play.

I have siblings we were about 2 years apart. When we were toddlers, my older sibling would look keep an eye on the younger ones while mom cooks.
Fast forward a few years we will be out running about. Slowly the boys and girls would separate, older stills looks out for the younger.

That's pretty normal for enterprise products. Palo Alto has a similar banlist. It goes with their desire to control *ALL THE THINGS.*
If your workplace bans tor, and you want to use it to connect to okta maybe don't use tor?
Hmm... I'll forego the obvious question of having restarted your system. Do you get the same malfunction when using a different source (cell phone, computer, laptop, etc.)?
Or switching browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, etc.)?
Or using a different IP address (Anonymizer, TOR browser, etc.)?
Or you could use a good firewall and not worry about it at all. I have DNS filtering, along with URL filtering on my firewall and it works great. To get anywhere you have to get through both. DNS filtering is enhanced by additional imported blacklists and I block outbound DNS unless it comes from my internal DNS servers. Proxies, Anonymizer, porn and other problematic categories are blocked, along with any site that hasn’t been categorized yet. You can tighten it up further by turning on SSL decryption and blocking risky or troublesome applications traversing your firewall (such as outbound VPN traffic).
You can do all of these easily with any good layer 7 firewall.
Use kalitorify or Anonymizer for it

Don't scan servers/machines that u won't own or u don't have permission to scan them it can put u in trouble and this tools will not make u 100% anonymous u can't be fully anonymous on internet

And as a public service announcement: check your task manager for rouge tasks. I found a shitload of proxycheck running due to some malware and windows didn't care. Somehow a bullshit Anonymizer got installed.
I rarely play arty. But when i do, yeah if i have the luxury to choose, purple players are focused first. Anonymizer might help, but then again might not. When u see anonimyzer i believe its one of the extremes; Either tomato or unicom. Average players dont bother go anonymus. There is so much gap between them a tomato and a cyan+ , that you can guess what category the hidden player fits

I feel like that guy once complained in a battle about me. I always end up putting those people on my blacklist so they can fuck off after the battle :D Anonymizer is great to counter people that believe you are a tomato because XVM.

Same with less focus as a blue/purple player. I occasionally get PMs in the garage about being a coward, cheater, neckbeard, basement dweller, and adult diaper wearer for using Anonymizer. I'm glad to see XVM-snipers seething at the loss of their ability to focus top players.
I'd like to think the toxicity has improved a little due to the addition to the Anonymizer. It helps throws off the XVM abusers that tend to harass low stat players along with other misdemeanors relating to statistics. That being said, toxic players will always exist in any game. Getting rid of them all is futile.
We run Umbrella at work for security. If the policy is setup properly, it categorizes the resolvers as 'Proxy/Anonymizer' and blocks the lookup from the browser, Firefox then falls back to local DNS resolvers at before. I just tested it this morning and that is the proper behavior.
i don't know what you mean by drops. but if its something outside of random battles then it's intentionally not working since Anonymizer only is for Random battles. also it only hides your username to other platers and not to your mates that are platooning with you (same for dynamic platoons)
When I submitted a bug to WG about the fact that annonymized players can send messages to you when they are on your blacklist, this was their response:

Anonymizer you could use to avoid crap from toxic players. But don't listen to them.
What helped for me is to look one game at the time. Really start to think consiously and not just go for auto pilot.
At every move think ¨Is this the right flank¨, ¨should I try to kill him or should I wait?¨.
Then once you have taken a decision look at the results.
¨was the flank really helpful you were there?¨, ¨did you got the kill when you went for it or did you get smashed down by TD's.¨.

I think it's the XVM team that's behind this drive. I see the same message come up here and there on a regular basis. I think it's fair that they disabled XVM for anyone running Anonymizer but I sense an element of bitterness from them.
Nevertheless, I use the Anonymizer and as a blue player I see A LOT less artillery focus. It was a much needed and much overdue feature.

I don't think WN8 focusing is as much of an issue as people say. Anonymizer hasn't really changed much for me. Most of the times it is just focusing without XVM, most of my enemies don't even have XVM installed

exactly...I enjoy this game even more after I got rid of my main account. No T49 trying to yolo me or less arty focus... or a funny fact: me (400wn8) and my platoon mate (2800wn8) in two heavies... he got focused first, he died and i was on full health. now i just enjoy the game and if i fail... well then i fail. But nowadays there is at least the Anonymizer...

You made the assumption that there was not a long history between this player and the rest of the WoT community, particularly the Clan Wars community. Rather than asking about other encounters with this player, you jumped to calling my comment toxic. Not to mention that the Anonymizer is literally built to prevent focus, and it is a logical conclusion that people who vehemently oppose allowing other players to anonymize might actually like to focus other players (which is very logical).
I can feel the difference - haven't been a victim of unreasonable focus since Anonymizer, which happend before.
Also I'm noticing less ppl drowning at the begining (cuz team sucks or whatever).
Overall - great change for the better.
