My choice is ABetterCamera, the unlocked version which was under $10. It's been about 6 months since I checked out the competition, so there could be something newer/better. I think it's worth a look.
I have no real complaints about it. When I want video or front-facing selfies though, its easier to use the stock app. I use ABC for all other photography. It has a lot of setting choices and I like that I can choose the size of the photo (megapixels), I can shoot one photo and it will take 3 exposures (light/mid/dark) so I can decide later which is the best result, self-timer, burst, and tons of other stuff I haven't even tried.
It appears to be on sale today!

First of all, are you sure that your camera lens is clean and not smudged? And that you're using the default camera settings? If you're not sure, then go into Settings - Apps - Camera, and clear the data (you might need to force stop it first).
If that doesn't resolve the issue, I'd highly recommended A Better Camera, I find it to often produce better quality pictures than the stock camera app.
A Better Camera Unlocked is on sale this week:
I bought it a few days ago to play with the different features (including HDR). So far it is seems to be a pretty good camera app.
A Better Camera has a ton of features. There's a free version with loads of ads, but the paid version goes on sale for 90% off sometimes, which is when I bought it.
I like this app a lot A Better Camera the UI is really the only downfall, but it has almost every feature you can think of!
I use A Better Camera unlocked for android, it's a paid app. Check the pics and you'll see the object removal function.
I haven't tried you app yet, I'm on M Preview so it might have issues like other apps such as Snap Chat and A Better Camera
My favourite camera app is A Better Camera

Its because of its Super Mode which uses Superresolution techniques to increase resolution/detail and decrease noise.

It works really well for taking photos of things far away (which I use for taking photos at lectures) and in low light.
If you could add that I'd jump ship since your app has a far better UI
