Look for me to spawn as a Knight of Darkness as my real life self
Pixel Dungeon is in my opinion the best one out there, so finding something that matches your original experience is hard. Ananias and Sproggiwood come close. I'm not too sure of Cardinal Quest and Cardinal Quest 2. 1Quest plays much like the free flash game (although I believe it has updates), and I've never played Pathos but I hear good things about it.
More or less roguelike:
Ananias,
Sproggiwood,
Cardinal Quest,
Cardinal Quest 2,
1Quest, and
Pathos: Nethack Codex
From there on, I don't know of any good traditional roguelikes. There are a bunch of games that are more or less puzzle roguelikes with a large focus on puzzling including roguelike elements.
Some puzzle, some roguelike:
Switch Hook,
Desktop Dungeons (tablet),
ENYO,
Hoplite, and
HyperRogue,
Now we delve into the rabbit hole of games that are more puzzle than roguelike, and in fact aren't much roguelike at all. They might still be enjoyable to you if you like the puzzle roguelikes.
More puzzle, less roguelike:
Card Thief,
Card Crawl, and
Solitairica,
NEO Scavenger has often been called a roguelike (or roguelite, whichever you prefer) and these 3 games are similar in their survival aspects which are rather enjoyable, so perhaps you'll like them as well.
More survival, less roguelike:
NEO Scavenger,
Day R, and
80 Days
Have you checked out some of these games?
Ananias on Android. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.slashland.ananias
There aren't a lot of interesting roguelikes for Android currently out there (Pixel Dungeon and its variants being one of the obvious ones), but there are a few that you might want to take a look at:
Ananias is probably my favorite.
I think you may have to sideload the apps, enable installing outside of google play apk files.

If you need an APK of the current version of any free Android game you can use Yalp store to download directly from Google Play. https://github.com/yeriomin/YalpStore
Ananias - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.slashland.ananias&hl=en
HyperRogue - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roguetemple.hyperroid&hl=en
Hoplite - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.magmafortress.hoplite&hl=en
All of these are low-graphics-intensive, turn based games, so they should work great.
