Thanks for the tip about ES--didn't know that! I'm going to try out both Cabinet and Solid Explorer. I like AutomateIt Pro for automating things just because it's more user friendly, but tasker is good.

It's very similar to Tasker, but much more user friendly. For the simple tasks I typically run (scheduled things, or reading received texts when I'm connected to my car's BT), it works amazingly well.

AutomateIt Pro can do what you want. There is also a free version that may be able to do it. Not sure. It is basically a more user friendly app with a smaller learning curve.

there's a free version which is pretty robust. you get more options if you have root. a lot less steep of a learning curve vs tasker. was on sale for 1 dollar on black friday but it's 4 bucks right now.
