Four direction controls on mobile aren't there yet. There's tons of untapped potential though. Go check out Axle's control scheme for 2d platforming - mobile game controls can be a LOT better than they are right now.
Check out Axle for an example of tight platformer controls on mobile. It is doable, it just requires some work and a different mindset/approach.
Cool idea! My biggest notes are it would be good to have more options on how to sort what games you are seeing. Genre is good, but perhaps also by difficulty, art style, casual or indie, play style, etc.
The layout you have now is also pretty good on phones I imagine, which helps a lot, but might discourage people on computers from scrolling and seeing more content. If they layout was horizontal and you could look at new titles within the page (rather than scrolling the whole thing over), it might be more coding but it would likely be more accessible.
Anyway love what you're doing! Hope it takes off!
