Here's how Bacon May Die Google Play page looks like. It's getting 13.1% conversion rate, which isn't very good. As you might notice, I went full ASO with the description out of desperation, so that's more for the bots. Questions for humans:
Thanks!
Very fitting theme for WIP Wednesday as I'm currently working on "winter area" for Bacon May Die.
Here's the roster of new enemies so far:
Planning to also add an icicles dropping from the top of the screen as traps, but there's a concern about it conflicting with different screen ratios and a setting which allows player to set different camera height.
Hello again!
I'm excited to finally show you my latest game - Bacon May Die! Many Iron Snout players asked for a wider range of movement, so here it is - a piglet character, which can run around, jump, roll and dash - all while swinging a weapon around. But wait, there's more! Holding a touch will slow down the time and execute a ranged attack with one of the weird guns. That can feel pretty bad ass at times!
I would love to hear your thoughts on the buttonless controls: tap sides to attack and change movement direction, swipe down to roll (important to dodge melee attacks), swipe up to jump or double jump and hold the side for a ranged attack. Partial gamepad support (maybe even with full movement controls) will be added in the near future.
Use cog button in the main screen to adjust volumes and turn off blood or screenshake.
This is still a work in progress and I have some big plans for the future (different weapon properties, game modes, more areas, enemies and NPCS), so critique, feedback and ideas for enemies, outfits and weapons are most welcome and have a high chances to appear in the game! Let me know if you have any questions too!
There's also a mobile-friendly web version available (at the moment it has less content than the one in Google Play) to try out! And if you'd like to keep an eye on the development, I can be found on Twitter.
Hope you'll enjoy this game!

My pig based "beat-and-shoot em up" is now available for testing on all the platforms. Grab a baseball bat, equip an UZI and after a few minutes of carnage let me know, how well it runs on a platform you tried, what was fun and what was not.
Controls: arrows or WASD. UI (and weapon selection) is controlled with mouse-mostly, but I'm working to remove the need for that.

Looking for general opinions on gameplay and controls for my 2D beat em up & shoot em up game. Character is auto-running, but controls separate screen in two sides, which allow you to change direction and respond to threats faster. Holding the touch will turn on slight slow-motion and do a ranged attack (depending on your alternative weapon).

Let me know what you think! Any ideas for new enemies, weapons and outfits are also welcome!

Hello, wonderful people,
I'm excited to see Bacon May Die store page up on Steam and we can finally get this piglet rolling forward to release! I wanted to get some information out to you, so you could decide if this game is something you might want in your library and what to expect in the following months.
What is this game about? Bacon May Die is a beat'em up button masher with simple and accessible controls in which pig hero fights for its survival against hordes of weird enemies.
Why Early Access? I need your input on a few things, like feedback on game mechanics, adding more suggested content and help with testing of eventual Steam Workshop integration.
Is this Iron Snout 2? Not really. Both games are thematically similar, but Bacon May Die has more variety in movement and game mechanics (vehicles, ranged weapons, NPCs). And outfits, so many outfits!
Will this game be free? Nope, but it will be cheap and it will be even cheaper during Early Access period. I will share quite a few keys around and there will definitely be discounts in the future. Follow me on Twitter to not miss any freebies!
How Steam release will compare to free mobile/web versions? Eventually Bacon May Die content available for free will be "frozen" and only Steam players will get all of the possible content, which includes exclusive areas, game modes, weapons & outfits as well as Steam Workshop integration and, of course, all Steam-related goodies like achievements, trading cards, icons and more!
Multiplayer? I know many people want to play this with their friends, but I can't promise online multiplayer any time soon. That said, there will be an option to play local coop! I'll need your help with testing those, because for one person it is really hard to control 3 pigs at the same time.
Where can I play this game NOW? Web and PC versions are available here: https://snoutup.itch.io/bacon-may-die Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snoutup.baconmaydie iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/app/bacon-may-die/id1238929199
Can I beta test it on Steam already? Soon. But not just yet. Keep your eyes open and check forums or my Twitter for beta keys.
When Early Access will start? I don't want to promise anything I can't follow through, but I hope to go public with EA in September! I want to add some cool Steam-only content before doing that.
I have an idea! That's awesome! Head to the forums and post in this thread or create separate topic if your idea is a big one (like new mechanic, boss enemy, special move/combo).
I have a question! Post it in the comments! I'll try to answer everything I can and will add most important ones to this post.
Hope to see you soon! Cheers!

This time less chaotic action sequences. I'm currently focusing on a popup menu to show more settings for Bacon May Die players.
Here's how it looks right now: http://imgur.com/UbSofP6
Some people mentioned I should hide the top shortcut buttons (settings, sound and music toggles) after settings popup appears, but I'm not sure that's really needed (just colors need some work). What's your opinion?
Bonus new outfits to be added in next update: http://imgur.com/YFWU5cF http://imgur.com/hSM2hqj

Jumping between projects is my gamedev curse, but with this silly beat em up I got my creative moxie back. Bacon May Die is a simplistic side-scrolling fighting game with focus on responsive controls, fluid gameplay and humorous action. Does it achieve any of those? Well, let me know!
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snoutup.baconmaydie
Controls: tap sides of the screen to strike, swipe horizontally to dash, swipe up to (double) jump, swipe down to dodge roll.

Let me know how it plays for you, how's difficulty of the game at the beginning, what could be improved or fixed, how does ranged attacks feel like and how easy is to get in to relatively smooth combo-y gameplay. Got any ideas for weapons, outfits or enemy types? I'm all ears!
If you like how this game looks, please leave a vote in Steam Greenlight too!
