DraStic is pretty awesome for DS emulation. Bear in mind that it is paid though. Not very expensive, but still.

I like Drastic. It's not exactly cheap, but great bargain for how well it runs. I've used it on multiple devices without issues from the cheapo Moto E4 to my Note 8 and various devices in between. Doesn't seem to drain battery that badly either.
You're looking for RetroArch. Free Open Source Software, integrates a bunch of emulators under an open frame-work. You don't usually find proprietary emulators in Retroarch, but literally all my emulation needs have been met by FOSS licensed emulators.
Since it's P2W nonsense, look into Titan Quest. A PC classic, quite similar to Torchlight, that was recently ported to Android. Needs a fairly powerful device, but it's an excellent game:

Drastic.
It is the best DS emulator for android

OK, looking this game up. This was iOS and Android before it came out on Switch!
This is a fucking Modile Game. I'm perfectly fine with the Switch being the Mobile Game Valhalla.
Alto's Adventure
Not new but it is a must if you haven't tried it yet. It is my favourite casual game on Android other than the original Bejeweled.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noodlecake.altosadventure&hl=en_GB
This is extremely exciting as it allows you to talk to clan mates on the go. (Clan chat is more convenient to use than Discord when you're in-game so it's good to be able to talk to everyone)
You can craft it via the official Warframe app.
If you're on iOS, here's the link to the iOS version.
If you're on Android, here's the link to the Google Play version.
The same goes for anything Foundry related i.e Frames, forma, reactors, keys, weapons, helmets etc. You can also deploy and collect extractors from the app too.
Downwell - roguelike shmup
Tower Fortress - roguelike platformer
Best DS emulator by far is Drastic, I couldn't recommend anything else. If you reeealy didn't want to pay you could go with an alternative, but it's not worth it tbh.
Just a heads up, if you check out the wiki in the sidebar it has emulator recommendations for just about every platform.
I don't think the bot wants to lick you, but anyways here ya go:
Drastic DS Emulator - Price: 5.99$ - Rating: 4.6/5 - Search for drastic DS Emulator on the Play Store
> DS games CAN be emulated but I absolutely hate the dual screen nature of emulated DS games, it just isn't nice to look at no matter how I tweak things.
Check out DraStic. DS is fantastic on Android, as the touch screen stuff translates directly.
And a passing glance at RetroArch's Google Play reviews are enough to make clear why Broglia's emulators are still so popular.
RA's foundation is objectively superior- that much is pretty unequivocally obvious. But the Android UI is about as divisive as they come- people either put up with it, or hate it.
Using Broglia's emulators, on the other hand, is a matter of tapping "Install", opening the app, tapping "Load ROM", and selecting what you want to play. RA isn't really comparable- it's a more advanced piece of software.
People don't tend to care about accuracy so long as a certain base level's been reached- hence why Snes9x remains the most popular SNES emulator, despite Higan/bsnes having been around for years. What people care about is usability- and RA's Android version is still too far behind on that to overcome Broglia et al's head start and established brand.
I don't doubt that RetroArch (or a libretro-based solution) will win out in the long term- the devs are clearly putting in a ton of work- but there are obvious reasons why it's not spent the past few years at the top of the Play Store's downloads list.
You can emulate almost anything with this app. I actually use the Linux version of the app, not the Android version I linked.
Soul Knight, very reminiscent of Enter the Gungeon. Currently in beta, however, it supports bluetooth controllers!
Looks like Nintendo Ninjas are still searching for a way then. The Play Store is full of emulators and has been for years, including commercial emulators bought by millions of people.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic&hl=en&gl=US
This is a confusing question for several reasons.
There are dozens of Raspberry Pi OS's. The usual option is based on Debian Linux, there are several built for media playback, and there are several built for Emulation.
You want to install the operating system because the emulator is slow? Why not just install the emulator, like RetroArch? Installing a linux distro on top of android just to run the program/app that already runs on android natively doesn't seem like a good idea.
Titan Quest is excellent. Port of a PC game, high production values, no IAPs. The inventory is a little small, that's pretty much the only issue that I have with this game.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dotemu.titanquest
Unless youre using a potato, Retroarch should work better for you. Free, no ads or funny permissions. Get the base app, then download any GBA core/emu you prefer.
Emulate the Nintendo DS on Android smartphones/tablets with decent accuracy and playable speeds. It's available on the Play Store.
It's a pretty great bit of work, actually- I recommend it, if emulation's your thing.
Drastic is honestly the only DS emulator I would recommend. It is compatible with Android 2.3 or newer. I would recommend paying the couple bucks for it because any free version is illegitimate and will likely cause issues.
DraStic is. And yes, it's worth paying for. If you've got a flagship from the last 3 years or newer then you'll run pretty much anything on this.
No, as best I know there aren't any packages specifically for retroPie available for Android. That said, the Play Store is littered with emulators (free and paid), including RetroArch, which is the same app that also powers the underlying emulation engine in retroPie. Hopefully this helps.
On Android there is a $5.99 Nintendo DS emulator https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic
You can also "buy" additional features off the gameboy advance emulator in the Windows Store (VBA10 I believe).
Generally speaking a number of currently updated emulators these days are open source, and it would be a little funny to sell software that anyone could modify and compile on their own. But back then there was a PSx and Dreamcast emulator being sold IIRC and was closed source.
Note that so long as the application does not render or perform the same "calculations" (can't think of a better word for this) as the product it's emulating there should be no problems whatsoever.
Side note, for anyone reading this, emulation isn't illegal. The software it runs is a different story, but if you can get the Playstation 2 menu to boot up on the xbox one on your own then it's perfectly fine. Emulators CAN work on the Xbox One, and no doubt we'll be seeing one commercially very soon.
Why not just download RetroArch and just used the cores that are available? I don't personally use RetroArch, but from what I've heard the emulators they have are usually the best or one of the best, and should be easy to swap cores out to try different ones out.
No expert on Pokemon here but the best and easiest way to play NDS Pokemons is with the emulator DraStic.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic
DraStic works flawlessly and is worth the $5 x 10 vs shoddy free emulators you might find.
First level is free and the rest unlockable by IAP. Currently the unlock is on sale for ~$1.
Game looks and plays very well.
Oh stuff it. These games are positively ancient. San Andres has been released on god damn tablet for fuck's sake. You can play it on a smart phone. [Do you see these requirements](http://en.wikigta.org/wiki/System_requirements_(GTA_San_Andreas\))? I can't even remember the last time I touched a computer that couldn't run it, including my grandma's.
Is this actually GTA SA, or a rip-off version from another publisher? For the record, this is the only legitimate version on the play store.
Not sure if this is considered "casual", but Downwell is a fantastic game for quick sessions.
It's been my go-to game for the bathroom.
You can enable file sharing on your shield, then transfer roms that way or use USB. The engines can be downloaded from within retroarch.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.ppsspp.ppsspp&hl=en_US
That's the app. But you also need to get the games. You're supposed to have a copy of the game and rip it yourself. I can't really tell you how to obtain it other ways.
Show your thanks to the developer by purchasing the Android version!

Hey everyone! We've been stuck with a pretty bad Nintendo DS Emulator until now! DraStic has been ported over to the Classics systems thanks to the original programmer Exophase. Along with the help of MadMonkey and DanTheMan we now have an excellent working emulator for a TON of DS games. So far it's been discovered that games that heavily utilize the microphone are not compatible as of right now. But that still leaves a huge game library you can use on your system. Hope this was helpful!
How come nobody has mentioned the Warframe Mobile App yet?
Set your alert filter for nitain and the things you need early game (Reactors, Catalysts, etc.). Wait for a notification. If you can play, log in and do the alert. If you are busy, wait for the next alert. Problem solved.
Do yourself a favour and get the superior DraStic Emulator. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic&hl=de
This emulator won't force you to rate it 5-stars just to save your game. Lol.
Besides the obvious ones here, the game Downwell. Vertical shooter with roguelike elements. Unlock different play styles and visual appearances. No IAPs anywhere.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devolver.downwell
Link for emulator, install it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic
Then go to: http://doperoms.com/roms/Nintendo_Ds.html
Download the Roms you want or you can just Google "DS roms".
After downloading, copy these roms to a folder. When you open the emulator it will open as a file browser from where you can browse to the rom directory and click on rom file to open.
If you don't know how to copy or move files in android, download any file explorer or ES file explorer from play store.
Let me know if you face any problems. I play ps1 games, never tried ds but procedure should be same. :)
No need to root btw.

First of all, I'd recommend downloading the 32-bit version of RetroArch, as it will work better with the PCSX ReARMed core.
Inside RetroArch, go to Load Core -> Download a Core -> scroll down and download Sony - PlayStation (PCSX ReARMed). After that, in the main menu go to Load Content -> /storage/emulated/0 and navigate to the directory your ROMs are located in. Then select the ROM to start playing.
DraStic emulator, like you said, is the best way to play the original trilogy. I played the first game on my PC a long time ago, however, I played the entirety of the second game, Justice For All, and it was pretty good.
The DS' touch function works amazingly when translated to mobile, and you can get through the entire game without using clunky touch controls.
It does cost like $5, but it's a good deal for what is hours upon hours of entertainment. Plus, ROMs don't cost money.
>Could you perhaps recommend the best version (of drastic) you might have used to play through the trilogy on your phone?
Not sure what you mean by that. There's only one version of DraStic on the Play Store.
However, if you meant a different emulator, I very briefly tried this one because it was free, but the ads are annoying, and I bought/switched to DraStic 5 minutes in.
You could use a PSP emulator like PPSSPP to play Monster Hunter Portable 3rd or any of the other ones. Although I've never tried them with PPSSPP so I don't know if there're playable or not.
Seriously not one person mentioning Titan Quest? That's as close as Diablo you're going to get on Android.
nvm /u/PredOborG mentioned it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.retroarch&hl=en
There's also ppsspp for PSP and epsxe or fpse for PlayStation, used both and they work good. Reicast is out for Dreamcast. Then these which all appear to need purchase and I kind of already listed http://www.androidauthority.com/best-emulators-for-android-315958/
Really trial and error on which performs best for what setup. You should be able to favorite the Android apps in Kodi and launch from there.
If you are running an Nvidia graphics card in your PC, you're good to stream. Download the GeForce Experience app on your PC, and then log into GFE and the GeForce Hub on your Shield with the same account. Any games that are supported should show up under GameStream.
For unsupported apps, you can add them in the GFE app by going to Settings, then Shield, and clicking the Add button. However, I've found that some games don't work well this way. It's generally more reliable to launch them through Steam. Steam itself is a supported app, and so should automatically be in your GameStream list. You can add anything you have from outside of Steam as a non-Steam game to get them in there.
As for emulators, I heartily recommend RetroArch. That will cover you for most of the major systems PS1 and below. There is a version of Dolphin for the Shield for Gamecube and Wii games, but it's still in the early stages and has some annoying problems; if you've got a PC to stream from, I'd recommend running it from there instead.
As for other awesome stuff you can do, the Shield has a built in Plex Media Server, which is great if you have a lot of local media (or physical media you're willing to rip). You just have to go into the Plex app to activate it, then you can configure it through the web interface like any other Plex server.
Downwell is a great roguelike that has a surprising amount of complexity. You can shoot enemies below you which also slows your descent and can either land or goomba stomp enemies to refill your ammo. On top of that you can pick up augments to your gun throughout each level as well as choosing between powerups between levels.
You can find it here.
Be aware that this is the "advanced" version of the app, they plan on releasing an easy mode version at some point in the future that comes pre-configured.
If you're playing without a remote, I think you have to set up overlays and stuff like that per app because it's not automatically configured. There should be a few faqs on how to do it.
It's worth the pain of setting up because you only have to do it once and you'll have pretty much the best versions of any emulators available on Android for free (aside fron PPSSPP and DraStic - their standalones are better than the ones in Retroarch, at least currently) plus any shader you can imagine.
If you're not interested in putting that work in, I'd suggest you add the subreddit, /r/retroarch, and keep an eye out for when they announce that release. I've got no idea when it's coming.
0 chance. It is too much to handle and even if it wasn't there is not much new development going on in the PSP scene. (Mostly fan translations and a few homebrews popping up here and there) What kind of phone do you have? For DS emulation on the Go this is about all I have been able to find that works well....
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic&hl=en
I use the DraStic DS emulator, and I currently have Pokemon Soul Silver and Pokemon Black loaded onto it. The touchscreen controls can be a little wonky sometimes, but pokemon isn't a very high fidelity game, anyway.
Get a controller tough.
Onscreen is kinda difficult.
Any USB device works (ps3 and ps4 are really nice) with an OTG cable. Or use a Bluetooth one like I did.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.ppsspp.ppsspp&hl=en
DraStic DS Emulator is $5.99 on the Play store. I tried nds4droid, Pretendo, and Smart DS but only DraStic can actually play the games on my phone. In my opinion, $5.99 is an absolute steal.
Two options
DraStic. Is a paid app, but is generally considered the gold standard for DS emulation on Android.
MelonDS. Free and open source. One of the emulators of choice on Windows, recently ported to Android. It isn't yet quite as optimized as drastic, but your phone should be recent enough to run it well. And if it doesn't run well, Drastic is always an option.
Kept seeing a lot of posts looking for "Diablo-like" dungeon crawler style games, and this should fit the bill. Probably not as authentic of an experience as Titan Quest, but probably less hardware intensive and cheaper.
EDIT: Worth noting the PC version on Steam is on sale during their huge Halloween sale for $0.69 with all the DLC/unlockables also discounted pretty heavily. [STEAM LINK]
You could buy the Drastic app and download the roms for Phoenix Wright and Hotel Dusk otherwise the Layton games found in the Play Store have good detective stories but the actual gameplay is just a bunch of random puzzles

>there are no "real" games for Android
Yes there are. There are many, but not as many as there should be. Online f2p garbage is more profitable so that's the majority and all the real games get pushed to the side and forgotten, leading to this perception.
Case in point: We have Titan Quest on mobile. Titan. Quest. Diablo but with mythological creatures, ported straight from PC. There is zero excuse for why Blizzard can't port one of the Diablo games to mobile. But they didn't, they outsourced it to NetEase who are known for making online f2p garbage.
Currently it's Implosion. This is the perfect mobile game for me. Super tight controls, great presentation and levels that last around 5 minutes long. I'm on the last chapter now and i don't want it to end
For the reference of other people: Implosion: Never Lose Hope.
Arguably one of the best games on Android but marred slightly by people rating it 1-star as they cannot read the description and/or expect every game on Android to be free. It honestly deserves much better than 4.4 out of 5.
It'd be nice if there was a discount but I don't expect one to happen, I'm not sure how they would be able to publicise a sale on an IAP that unlocks the full-game. Plus I don't think they ever did price reductions on the song packs for Cytus 1 or their other games before.
> they're the best free ones available
Debatable when RetroArch brings more popular emulators to Android without ads and with a GPL 3 license.
there is an official warframe app. you can login to your account, manage extractors and recieve notifications for the alerts you want: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digitalextremes.warframenexus
Titan Quest is the best diablo style RPG on Android (maybe even on PC). It is a port of the PC version, it has lots of loot, class variety, great graphics. One downside is that the game is heavy and you need a powerful device to run it at good framerate, the other is the lack of controller support.
RetroArch is still up, so .... they must be OK with it. I wouldn't rock the boat though. I mean, sure we could always sideload it, but the convenience and automatic updates is nice.

Spend a few bucks on Drastic, a Nintendo DS emulator. It's definitely worth it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic
This is a public archive of Nintendo DS games and has pretty much every single game, even Japanese titles: https://archive.org/download/NintendoDSRomCollectionByGhostware
There’s a phone app for Android and iOS (I can’t figure out how to directly link this one) that lets you check such things.
In addition to letting you view your mod collection and current mod configurations, it also lets you check a lot (but not all) of the world state stuff usually shown in the navigation screen, deploy and claim resource extractors, and queue and claim builds in your foundry (though it can’t start ones that make you pick items as part of starting the build, like the Sapra or Warframe specters).
If you do use it, just make sure you don’t try to use it while logged in to the game, as this can cause you to lose progress in the game (DE uses a single login in both places, and the stuff they do to prevent multiple logins in the game itself invalidates an existing login sessions when a new one is created).
Soul Knight - mobile healing only if you buy an item - items are randomly generated in shops, which in turn generate infrequently on maps. Coins are hard to get cuz they spawn randomly.
Health as a resource that is hard to get and manage - check out spelunky - collecting items to regain health, bringing something back to a checkpoint,
Rainbow six siege, PUBG, Battlefield - DBNO status where you are injured and have to wait for others to pick you up or bleed out to death.
Healing regen / buff only next to campfires - TERA, Dark Souls. Also temporary maximum HP decrease until you kill a boss in Dark Souls (AKA HP as a first-try bonus :)
pay real money (or in-game gems) to gain lifes you lost by loosing, or wait ~24h to regain health - many mobile apps nowadays...
OSU! - pressure of time - health constantly depletes, you complete combos to regain health.
Many mechanics from Magic The Gathering - for example heal by sacrificing cards, heal by dealing damage to others.
I completely forgot about that part and now I have to go set it up on mine.
I think RetroArch might work on Chromeboxes, I'll find out soon. Recent reviews don't look great though.
RetroArch: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.retroarch&hl=en_US&gl=US
Emulate DS and PSP.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.ppsspp.ppsspp
On DS is obviously the first 3 Etrian Odyssey games and SMT Strange Journey and on PSP there is Class of Heroes 1 & 2, Elminage Original, and Unchained Blades. Since you mentioned Disgaea on PSP there are the ports of 1 & 2 plus Phantom Kingdom, Phantom Brave, and Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman.
Android and ShieldTV is perfect for emulation.
Emulators
You can use an all-in-one solution like Retroarch. Or you can download individual emulators for consoles, like My Boy (for GBA). Some apps can be downloaded directly from the Play Store on the Shield, others need to be side loaded.
Controllers
Most emulators have controller support which is nice. The Shield also allows Bluetooth and USB devices so you can use whatever gamepad you like. I use the one that came with my Shield.
Games
This is on you. You can find sources for games on your favorite search engine. Games are usually called ROMs when used with an emulator.
I personally store my collection on my Shield and sync saves and games with Google Drive. The Shield can play just about anything up to PS2/GameCube/Xbox era. There is a GameCube emulator for Android available but the performance is iffy at best.
You could sideload Retroarch or a similar emulator but you'll need a controller to be able to play. I bought a £8 Bluetooth one off eBay and it works perfectly on Mario etc
And for the ROM of the game, I can't tell you where I got it, both because it's been a while and I can't remember, and because even if I could remember I probably wouldn't be allowed to post the link. Google will help you with that.
Android device is where it's at. Plays great on a tablet or phone. Check out the /r/EmulationOnAndroid wiki page for emulator info, but what you're looking for is Drastic.
Alternately, there's a ROMhack that removes the touchscreen elements.
Retroarch will have cores for just about any system you want to play. Run the online updater built into the app to load some cores, point it to your roms and enjoy.
Here's the getting started guide if you need some help.
For YouTube ad blocking: YouTube Vanced + MicroG. (I'd personally go with the one listed as White/Black).
For Nintendo DS Emulation: DraStic DS Emulator.
Yep, agreed completely. I recommend the English fan-translation of Culdcept DS. It's a game that plays a bit like a cross between Monopoly and Magic: The Gathering (or some other CCG). You go around a board collecting tolls and 'buying' squares like monopoly, but you summon creatures on those squares rather than making buildings, and level them up to make them stronger and increase their tolls. An opponent landing on your square can either pay the toll or fight your creature with one from their hand. Both battlers can also boost their creature's stats during battle using single-use equipment cards.
EDIT: It should be mentioned that DraStic is the best DS emulator available for Android, and is well worth the $5 price tag. I wouldn't settle for anything else, myself (especially since all the other options I've found are super slow unless you have an extremely powerful phone/tablet).
If you get the official Warframe app, you can set up notifications to always tell you if there's any helmet alert (or anything else you choose to get notified about).
Unrelated, but the app also allows you to build stuff in your foundry, interact with/stabilize your pet, check official news, so on and so forth. I hope this helps
Edit: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digitalextremes.warframenexus
A LOT less hand-drawn animations, for one :P I'm not an artist by trade so I prefer animating via code to make it easier and more dynamic.
I've never played Wizard of Legend before but imagine it will be similar, though much less art oriented. The game will be much closer to Soul Knight, however, with a bit of Diablo mixed in (weapon stats, skill tree, character progression). The game world itself will be laid out similar to Hyper Light Drifter (there'll be a main town with a different dungeon to the north/south/east/west).
It was tagged and binaries were released through stable on the buildbot. Where are you seeing nightly?
edit: Even Play Store is already on 1.7.3
It is in the play store for me and shows as compatible with my shield.

There are a few options to satisfy your Diablo-like addiction.
Titan Quest, one of the praised Diablo-clones/successor from 2006 is available on android. And it still looks great considering it's age. (I love the game ;) )
But there are also a lot of android native Diablo-like games. A quick google search results in a lot of results :)
RetroArch using the mGBA core. RetroArch is a super cool emulation "front end" that is backed by "cores". RetroArch takes care of file management, controls, display settings, etc and lets the cores take care of emulating the system. In this way, you can run dozens of different emulators using RetroArch and they all share configs. RetroArch is available on more host platforms than I can count (Android, Windows, macOS, Xbox, Wii, iOS, PSP, Windows 95…)
Besides the advantages of RetroArch in general, mGBA is one of, if not the most accurate GBA emulators available and it's free!
There aren't any email alerts that I'm aware of, but there are several apps for smartphones that have push notifications. I can't personally recommend any third-party ones, just because I haven't used them, but here's a link to the official one
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digitalextremes.warframenexus

You should really try Soul Knight, its like binding of Isaac with guns but a lot less depressing. Infinite replayability, it's my most played mobile game and I enjoyed every second of it. (Also the devs are bringing more content in a month.) Here are some in-game currency codes to get you started, "skgift", "sknight", "100000", "dzbkq"
There's actually a ton of games that can do this, not just by "cable link", but for "split screen" modes too.
I highly recommend RetroArch, as it is incredibly customizable, and is essentially a universal emulator. I've only played GB/C/A, N64, NDS, NES, and SNES games personally, but it works quite well.
The interface leaves a bit to be desired, and setting it up on multiple devices may be a bit of a hassle, but if you and a few friends are just itching for some Mario Party shenanigans or GoldenEye nostalgia, it should totally work.
I'm not sure if you could really get it going on iOS, but it doesn't need root, so basically any Android device should run it just fine.
EDIT: I should mention, not many disc-based games are really feasible, as ISOs are sometimes hard to find, and emulation for systems like PSX/2 or Dreamcast leaves a bit to be desired still, even on PC. Also, you may not be very satisfied with 3DS games, as the 3D effect likely won't work unless you've got certain phones, if even then. I do believe certain PSP games will probably work though ;)
This is not Tiny Wings, but if you liked it, you might enjoy Alto's Adventure (on Android).
Edit: It does have in-app purchases, but I've never felt like I needed to buy any. It's mostly just for boosts that you don't really need unless you're impatient.
Oh come on,dont be like that...try out Altos adventure and monument valley(not free), just this once..."is good for you". altos adventure monument valley
If you need action hack & Slash 3d not p2w game,. then how about Implosion? (the full game is not free though) (no internet connection required either)

And for those of us with a Smart Phone just grab the official Warframe app, which allows you to set your phone to alert you for specific settings of alerts, such as just looking for potatos, helmet skins, etc depending on what you'ld like.
Iphone's Apple Store and Google/Android's Play Store
There is an DS emulator on the play store called Drastic which is arguably the most stable DS emulator out there. That's what I used to play 999.
Also try out DraStic, which in my experience is the most stable DS emulator, ROMs are at the same link as the PSP one in my previous post.
Couldn't find the game, but the screenshot is of the "DraStic DS Emulator" Nintendo DS emulator app for Android. The game should a RPG some of type, but it might just be a demo to show off the emulator.

If I were to guess, and I am blindly guessing, it'd say it's because if I made an android/PC application it'd be a whole lot easier to pirate the PC version than the android version. With the android version you can have the Google Play License Check permission to verify that you actually purchased the app (makes it harder to pirate), whereas on the PC you'd simply need to download a crack folder and overwrite any DRM permissions - which is pretty easy (or so I'm told).
Or in other cases, such as PPSSPP, there's a free and paid version, paid version being to support the dev if you like his work. Here's a link to PPSSPP while I'm at it.
In addition to what other people are saying I would recommend Drastic NDS emulator if you aren't already using it. I know it's not free but out of all the NDS emulators I've tried it is by far the best one as far as performance.
