Link for emulator, install it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic
Then go to: http://doperoms.com/roms/Nintendo_Ds.html
Download the Roms you want or you can just Google "DS roms".
After downloading, copy these roms to a folder. When you open the emulator it will open as a file browser from where you can browse to the rom directory and click on rom file to open.
If you don't know how to copy or move files in android, download any file explorer or ES file explorer from play store.
Let me know if you face any problems. I play ps1 games, never tried ds but procedure should be same. :)
No need to root btw.
That's a mod for use with Xposed, which someone else mentioned, that hides your root from Apps like Sky Go that won't work if they detect a root.
Some are dupes others have posted, consider those ones "seconded"!
Do you mean something like this? It let's you change the emojis to several different flavours.
The Note 3 went from 4.3 to 4.4. Samsung did the "basic minimalist" update. What that means is they took all of Google's updates and rolled them into Jelly Bean (4.3) with as little change to the UI as possible. When people buy a device most people (not Redditor's according to /r/Android, as anything Samsung does is the work of the Devil) do not want their device to change dramatically as they bought the phone and want to be familiar with using it. Its basic marketing psychology.
The Galaxy series that has the 4.4 update straight from Samsung AFTER the deal that was struck with Google will have a completely redesigned skin across the field, as is required by he deal.
So that is why the Note 3 looks different than the Alpha as well as the S5 and the Note 4. Its all because Samsung released the Note 3 before the deal was struck with Google on how their GUI is to look and what applications are to be pre-installed.
Rooting is fairly straightforward for our device, and there are some hefty benefits. This particular root method is one-click and does not trip knox (i.e. it does not void your warranty). It's not permanent, you can always un-root. If you have other concerns I'd be glad to address them.
Try plex media server. Once I connected to my home server and phone while on the same network I can stream any music or video anywhere as long so I have a data connection. It's super easy and pretty cool that when I travel I just plug my phone or laptop into a TV via hdmi and viola I am streaming media or I can just watch our listen straight from the phone all via the free plex app and free plex server.
Server.
Android app

They actually have a way to integrate it into the rom you are running so if the phone does get wipped it will still be there.
Here you go
I still need to do this.
Northern Lights is good, though old:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lucentvisions.wallpapers.NorthernLightsFree
Flat Waves is simple, but looks nice and doesn't ruin battery life:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iceball.Flat_Waves_Live_Wallpaper
Several camera apps
https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=Camera
Google camera
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/camera-5-2-022-191678196-release/
The thing is.. All these Google camera apks are for arm64 only.. Maybe find an older version?
I found this article on here the other day. I was reading about the program they recommended called Kingo Root. I rooted last night and it was pretty painless. The program says it's a very low chance of tripping Knox counter if that's what your worried about. Not an expert, but I hope you found this somewhat helpful.
Install xposed installer
http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
Then, using the installer, search and install modules. If you're on a note, wanam is the one to start with.
https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxynote3sprint.html
I believe the n9005 is sprint? Not sure, but twrp is what you need. If sprint isnt your carrier, just search out whichever it is.
Read and re-read, Good luck!
https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install
You then set a proxy server for your wifi and cellular connections - it literally runs a proxy web server on your device and filters out the ads on it. No root required.
S Voice is garbage. Home2 shortcut will help with that. Google for "Disable S Voice" Mightytext will use google app engine to let you send/receive texts via your phone from a tablet or pc. It works pretty good.
I use sketch for keep. It allows me to write notes and save them in Google keep.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=lv.piip.sketchforkeep
Because I've been using keep for a while now, I love this because now I can also use my pen
Check in settings about baseband version and install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo&hl=en and check CSC code then look it up on http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/ to see what software versions are available. Mine was also stuck on 4.3 i think because of an early firmware but was on BTU CSC so I updated it via kies to a more recent firmware and then I was able to receive ota updates. Or just take it to local phone service and have them update it for you. But no more than 4.4 if you want to get root with knox 0, then update with mobile odin pro to lollipop.
I'll be up early because I want to get my rigs overclock settings perfected and GTA V optimized before my friend shows up; here's some links to follow, feel free to message me if you need anything. I had to remove this same shit from a friends laptop and it was a bit of a PIA. I remember doing it without going through all of these steps as they're not all entirely necessary to stop the threat and it's return but this should the most clean way. If you can find anything else that shouldn't be there, send me the name as well. Follow the procedures for all installed browsers, including IE Remember to scan afterwards. I ran this installer a while back but saw what it was going to do and noped out of there. Always pay attention to what an installer says it's doing, the application tells you that it will install this stuff; same reason why the elderly end up with 30 search bars and ad ridden search engines.

It's certainly replaceable, but I don't know if there is anywhere that will let you customize one. Give Etsy a look, they usually have cool stuff like that.
NE: I found a case, not a back panel for GoT. Here it is if you care. I found a "The Hobbit" back panel though, it is kinda cool too.
Not sure if it helps but I came across an article (google nexus kitkat camera battery) about a possible update for Nexus devices. That doesn't help, however, the article mentions a bug with the camera causing the battery to drain faster. The article specifically mentioned Skype as a culprit and possible anything background app that has access to camera/video.
I uninstalled Skype to test almost a week ago and have seen a dramatic increase in my battery life. I would get up at 6am and be dead by 6pm. And I only email, occasional reddit and phone calls. Very light user.
After uninstalling Skype, I'm up at 6am and when I go to bed at around 10pm, I'm still in 60% for battery.
It's not ideal but might be worth uninstalling anything in the background that can capture video. See where that takes you.
for the lazy: here's the link to article
edit: I'm on Verizon
double edit: here's a screenshot of my battery usage
surprisingly though, here's a quick search from gsmarena. aside from LG, moto, and sammy, there is not much i can get from where i'm at.
Yeah 70 is a lot to pay. I guess it's okay if OP wants a real leather case but for the price there's much better alternatives. I'm thinking of ordering this one it looks really cool and you can take off the s view cover or leave it on.
yeah.. the developer even said it will only be available in the xposed repository. he even updates it regularly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2383484
I dont understand these people why they are complaining that it's gone, it's NOT gone ffs. just not available in the playstore.
I think I need an older version. I need 1.1.6 or older. 1.1.7 added >2, Added schemes to root by flashing custom recovery, which involves risks of voiding warranty claim and soft-bricking.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2630466&page=14 Has a ver 1.1.0 exe
Running 1.2.1
Wakelock detector is an app that detects what apps are waking the phone up to do things, like sync notifications or send usage stats.
Deep sleep is the state your phone goes into after the screen has been off for a bit - CPU gets turned down as low as it can go and in some cases it shuts a couple of sensors off to save power.
If you are getting a lot of wakelocks, your phone never deep sleeps and you end up with bad battery life.
The easiest way of diagnosing battery problems is to root (towelroot seems the easiest way at the moment), then install Greenify and Wakelock Detector. Greenify will hibernate apps automatically (while still receiving notifications), WLD will show you what's keeping your phone awake and how long for.
Check out Xposed modules. Nifty little apps that let you do various things from customizable status bar colors to saving snapchat pictures and the like. Here's the subreddit /r/Xposed and here you can browse them all.
You don't need root to install a custom ROM, just a custom recovery (TWRP or Philz). From memory you'll need a TWRP version that's below 3.0. I used TWRP version 2.8.7.0 as my custom recovery.
If you want to root, I recommend magisk since it does't trip safety net.
Otherwise, I used CF-auto root, and used this tutorial. This was before Safetynet was a thing though.
I wouldn't consider anything a replacement that doesn't have a desktop app.
It's not as good in some ways as Hangouts (particularly syncing between devices), but I'd consider Telegram the best alternative I've found. The desktop application is unofficial but works pretty well.
I don't use my phone heavily, so it rarely gets hot. I would assume heat issues are from heavy use not from SD cards. note3's have thermal protection, but I've only triggered mine by leaving the phone in sunlight.
I used to think I must have an SD slot, but then I bought one of these OTG Flash Drives for my Note 3 and Tab S, and it's pretty fantastic and fast. Now, I'm not feeling the full need of an SD slot.
Hey, I had a zerolemon 10k battery too. The plastic case cracked from a fall and I emailed them but they said that I was out of warranty so no help from them. Ending up buying a new case.
Unfortunately, It seems like I often try things labeled OEM and it's still a knockoff. Looks like this might be a good bet, though.
Alternatively, he could get a portapow USB power monitor. http://www.amazon.com/PortaPow-Monitor-Version-Multimeter-Chargers/dp/B00NTU18KY
It's a handy tool to see which of your chargers are actually producing to spec.
Can't take very good pics on my note 2 so sorry for shit quality. If you can't tell the glass is raised a little bit over the steel. I can push it down temporarily and everything will be fixed, but just temporarily. Also light comes out of the screen in the first pic :/
I bought it here. I mean the screen off my other phone works fine, could I possibly take this screen off and put the old one on?
Sprint note 3 does work. Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile note 3's do not. I don't know about others.
Use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inoapp.cardinfo
And check under HCE info to check support.
Use WiFi Analyzer and make sure your network isn't set to a channel that a lot of other networks are on. And use 5GHz instead of 2.4GHz if your router supports it.
You can check charge cycles with this app.. I'm at 6000+ too..
I get 4+ hours SOT with recently purchased socalled oem batt. on 5.0 LP stock
> Wow, amazing! How you get those? I do have Xposed (for Greenify and MinMin Guard). I know full charged 100% to 90% rapid drop is due to the battery capacity charge. But 90% to 50% with like 1% every few minutes (like 5 minutes or less?) is not normal isn't?
I don't think it's normal, try calibrating your battery (Drain it completely to 0%, recharge it to 100% and Use this app to delete battery files when you reach 100%..
>How you measure your SOT? Did you just leave WiFi on with strongest signal and open a wallpaper or play youtube constantly?
I measured my SOT at the end of the day when my battery was <10%, then I just take a screenshot, that day consisted of casual use (redditing and youtube in particular but I did some web browsing), I keep it at 50-60% brightness.
I try not to have too many system apps. I believe the 1 thing I did that improved my battery life significantly was I froze google app, I didn't use it much, when it was gone, I didn't miss it much and the end result was great. It didn't mess with normal functionalities like the play store or the like, everything still worked, just no google app and I didn't mind.
I would remove amplified and greenify. Another app I should mention but you might not like is the facebook app, it is known to be a battery hog.
Good luck
It's no problem. Just comment if you come into any problems.
I used an xposed module called "Flat Style Bar Indicators"
Try "Null Keyboard" on Google Play.
I got it going a few months ago and it stopped the keyboard popping up. Good luck!
Install uc browser. Then click on the download link and choose "save to cloud". The file will be downloaded to its server. It will take some time as the download speed given by sammobile is very slow. Then you can download it to your phone without any network restrictions.
Since you're not rooted, I'm going to suggest trying this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nezdroid.lockscreenprotector
You can disable soft reboot by modifying seckey.kl if you're rooted, I usually go this route as I don't like to rely on apps to solve problems.
Just a thought, you could try Lux. It let's you set auto brightness based on light levels. So, as you move from different light settings, it changes the brightness to your pre-determined levels.
Im my experience multitasking menu is just slow as hell no matter what. On all roms I tried, including original. It wasn't great in android 4.4 on the same phone either so I just simply try to avoid using it.
I feel sorry for people who use note4 based software where hardware "menu" key is assigned to that function.
To workaround you could check out if "Switchr" app already has lollipop support.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures&hl=en
This app I believe has remapping built in...
if it doesn't and u are comfortable with changing keys try
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyNote3/comments/2ssh1i/remap_hardware_key_on_lollipoproot_needed/
I don't think you can monitor it, you can try opening this link in Google play and seeing if there's an update, or you could try going to settings>apps>Google play services and uninstalling updates
I wasn't aware that the Verizon phone caused problems for installing ROMs.
I use either;
Trickster
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod
or
Fauxclock
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamkang.fauxclock
You could give this a try:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector&hl=en
It is a wakelock detector and it might indicate an app that is draining your battery.
Is the SOT the only thing that it is bothering you or is the battery life poor meaning that you have bad standby times also?
Flash with Mobile ODIN Pro and then you can have it insert SuperSU for you as part of the flashing process. I took the stock T-Mobile rom for my note 3 and flashed that way and was able to keep root.
I wouldnt expect wireless charging to help with the pc connection issue. If you dont want to change the ports you can use apps such as Airdroid https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid&hl=en to interface with pc for data transfer. But you will still need a usb connection for firmware updates and such.
X-plore seems like a nice manager, I've been using it for a couple of days.
My default is Solid Explorer (paid), it's a nice app but I can't honestly point any particular feature it would stand out of the crowd. I've tried the alpha and it's nice but buggy.
I've used most of the ones listed and I always go back to chompsms. All the other apps always had trouble sending Mms and chompsms convert it down so it'll send.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.p1.chompsms
