A lot of people here are going to tell you to ignore buying physical and just rip ISOs at this point. Running games off the memory card is faster and you can carry more around, no original game dev is going to be making money off a sale at this point since it's all secondhand market, etc.
I'm a nerd who likes having the UMDs for nostalgia/collector's sake, but even I prefer stuff with a nice case/manual or some pack-in bonuses. Here's a few games that you're pretty much guaranteed to enjoy and that have nice physical editions that should also be pretty cheap on amazon:
MGS: Peace Walker
Metal Gear Acid (has a neat cardboard 3d viewer in the case)
Resistance: Retribution
GTA: Vice City Stories and/or GTA: Liberty City Stories
Me & My Katamari
doublepacks from the end of the PSP lifecycle are also nice little shelf decorations and good collection-starters imho:
Mega Man Powered Up & Maverick Hunter X
Loco Roco & Patapon
Secret Agent Clank & Daxter
Killzone: Liberation & Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror
I think that request sounds ludicrous...You are not going to get a massive western rpg on your psp I think.
There is however an amazing amount of jrpg which are amazing. Really a ridicules amount.
First off there is PSPs version of Persona 3 which is incredible. It has great characters to invest yourself in, the music is excellent and the gameplay fun and addictive.
You have access to all of the snes library.
All the PS1 library.
All the GBA library.
These contain pretty much some the best games of all time there...
So FF VI is a must play for me. Not sure if Chrono Trigger is fully playable due to a certain moment where 2 buttons must be pressed at once but a quick google would solve this problem.
I really was enjoying Trails in the Sky a psp game. It might be too japanese and not mature enough but I think its a very fresh jrpg with lovely graphics, music and a surprisingly new game.
Here is what a 2 second google search produced for me
http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/any-decent-western-rpgs-out-there-for-psp.182943277/
Why do you want from your next game? Also if you are seeking a direct Kotor clone its just going to feel inferior and you're going to be disappointed.
PSP does support larger cards. With 2 EVO 128GB MicroSDXC, I got about 239GB space.
https://imgur.com/gallery/6iX3K
If your PSP already has the latest firmware and MicroSD card isn't fake, usually the reason why larger card doesn't work is some adapters don't properly support the latest Memory Stick specs. I bought the UCEC dual-slot adapter on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/UCEC-Micro-Memory-Stick-Adapter/dp/B06XHPS43Q
https://www.dropbox.com/s/a4qnq44u5ji20jn/sotn_fs.exe
It's a Windows exe (virus scanned and clean). You need an ISO of the UMD, and you basically run this in a dos window (start->run->cmd) and point it at the iso.
Enjoy!
Yes, we're not getting much good games anymore, or rather, we're not getting almost any games at all anymore.
Upcoming PSP Game Released: (from here)
As you can see Japan is still getting a lot of games, and I expect this situation to continue for some time, as PSP is a lot more popular over there. Well, most of them are visual novels though, so if you wouldn't include them as games then yes - they're not getting that much new games either.
There are no good, comprehensive tutorials in one place.
>How to hack your PSP guide! Oh, if you have that kind of PSP, you have to go to this post (link to outdated post).
>Then download this thing and put it on the root of the sd card (broken download).
I wish there were a PSP site of the quality of Complete Softmod Guide
I know you've put in a lot of effort on getting your current set up to work. But there's a component cable for the PSP go that was made by sony. That would be a pretty easy solution..
Edit: Amazon link -- https://www.amazon.com/PSPgo-Component-AV-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B002LH4UB0
Okay so I went this channel called MetalJesusRocks, he’s a big time retro gamer/collector. Figured it would be the best place to look. I found this video of a upscaler. Though price tag is pretty steep, it’s probably the most future proofed upscaler could probably get. There’s probably better ones but that’s the first place that came to mind to look.
EDIT: this upscaler is probably the best bang for the buck
They made a remake for the PSP that used the face buttons as the second analog stick. You might have a better time looking into that rather than trying to make the PS1 version work.
The easiest and best method http://wololo.net/2014/12/19/high-quality-video-encoding-for-psp-with-handbrake-by-reprep/
You can even burn in the embedded .ass subtitles if you're converting anime, for example. The preset which you download from the linked page only works with Handbrake version 0.10.0, which you can download from here https://handbrake.fr/old.php :)
0 chance. It is too much to handle and even if it wasn't there is not much new development going on in the PSP scene. (Mostly fan translations and a few homebrews popping up here and there) What kind of phone do you have? For DS emulation on the Go this is about all I have been able to find that works well....
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic&hl=en
As mentioned previously, this IS NOT a micro sd adaptor. Its to adapt the small memory stick duo to a regular memory stick size.
He needs one of these: https://www.amazon.com/MicroSDHC-Memory-Stick-Non-Retail-packaging/dp/B00176F2RC
to amazon? really? this is the one i bought:https://www.amazon.com/eForCity-Wall-Charger-Power-Adapter-Compatible/dp/B0042J9G0U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1482200017&sr=8-2&keywords=psp+go+charger this is just the data cable: https://www.amazon.com/2-in1-Data-Transfer-Power-Charger-Cable/dp/B009E8VYPY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482200049&sr=8-1&keywords=psp+go+charger
Are you talking new? Because, yeah, that's in short supply. Used can be found at pawn shops $30-60, or ebay, or Amazon...
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-PSP-1001K-PlayStation-Portable-PSP-System/dp/B0010ZJFKA
For the guides, Wololo is a great resource. They have tons of information. Or just google it.
For the 2000's you'll want to update to 6.61 and then use Davee's 6.61 Infinity. There are ton's of guides for installing it, and it is pretty straightforward.
For memory, use this and slap in a 64gb or 126gb microSD card
For batteries I bought 2 of these
So far they have been good, and I get about 5-6 hours of use, depending on what I am doing / playing.
One of them messed up the first time I put it in the PSP but I got in contact with the company on Amazon and they shipped me another no questions asked.
And you will only really need a pandoras battery if you want to use TimeMachine ( boot a different firmware than what is installed on your NAND ) or somehow brick one of the PSP's ( pretty hard to do if you are careful )
But do note, that the batteries I listed cannot be used as a pandoras battery ( they have a fake PCB that does not correctly read a serial number / can't be written to ) So you will have to find an original if you want a pandoras, or one of the ones sold specifically as a pandoras.
Edit: Formatting, and more information
i bought this battery to use the controller from it but to my surprise it actually works. charge level 89% 6 hours left right now. i think it's the real deal for under 3 euro.
Check cdromance.com as they have a list of those things. If they're not there, I have a distant memory of another site that has a database with all of the DLCs ever made available for pretty much any PSP game.
> The Faqs I was looking at said to just always leave it in sleep mode just so you never have to relaunch the CFW and that when you do launch it, it doesn't always work
Unfortunately a lot of those tutorials are very old, so I would take every guide written more than a half year ago with a grain of salt if I were you.
> I see what your saying is that now you can have PSN and Emulators together, just when you want to do one thing you boot into OFW and then you can just load up CFW for the other stuff?
Yes. But as I've said, you might not even need a CFW at all to run your emulators.
> So if I understand now it has gotten retard simple from how to used to be done and there are no down sides like bricking and stuff.
If you won't do anything stupid then yes, there is virtually no chance to brick your PSP.
> One odd question, how well does it play PSX games?
Pretty well.
> it's been a long time and if I can play the breath of fire games on it I would be happy.
There is a native Breath of Fire 3 port for PSP by the way.
Smart clip something. http://www.dx.com/p/smart-clip-adjustable-plastic-holder-for-cellphones-ps3-controller-black-299607
It's cheap but you do get what you pay for. Holds nicely but the bottom clip broke on the seam (you can see where it's missing in my picture) This controller is dedicated to emulation and things so I just glued the bottom on.
What can you do? Play the original version of Cave Story on a handheld. A little less impressive now that the DS/3DS has it, but those have changed music/graphics/etc and all.
Emulation for the NES, Genesis, Sega CD, Master System, Gameboy and Gameboy Advance are all quite good. SNES is mostly good with some rough spots. Original Playstation has some gems that people have gotten to work well despite not being on the stores (or only in some regions).
You can find some PSP games undubbed, if that's your jam. Also making your UMDs into Digital Backups and playing those is great if you've got the memory card space.
You can also pirate, but that makes you a terrible person.
First of all, make sure your PSP is rooted/jailbroken. I have 6.60 Pro-C Then, You need files such as WINE BOTTLER (for Mac, (http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/downloads) and Gamepad Companion (available on Mac Appstore to modify the controls of psp on PPSSPP for mac) Note: You don't need Wine Bottler and Gamepad Companion if you're using windows. You need to install FUSA GAMEPAD on your rooted/jailbroken PSP. (https://burnedsap.blogspot.it/2013/01/using-your-psp-as-game-controller-for.html?m=1) Then download PPSSPP on their website depending on your device. Install it on your Mac using Wine Bottler; for Windows, just install the .exe file.
I'm not sure if the PSP 3k is big enough for such a mod. However, it has been done before with a PSP 1k and a Raspberry Pi Zero. They also kept all the original hardware keys working!
https://lifehacker.com/revive-an-old-psp-with-a-raspberry-pi-zero-1785506904
You don't need that. Just get this cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4OMVLI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_1CAB59CQKZ7XZQ93E64K
And use any phone charging brick you have at home. You can even plug it to a powerbank.
It’s nothing special, just some cheap chinese thing I found off Amazon after days of searching https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VJKS1H4/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_DCX87K5CJD1Q14DK08QW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 it DOES squeeze the volume buttons on top of the go but you can get around that by locking it for a few seconds and then unlocking it. Do let me know if you find something better? I’m tempted to see if I can get a car suction mount, butcher and glue it to the controller attachment so I’m not holding buttons down
I don’t think it’s been ported to PSP.
There has been some promising work lately in porting GTA3, VC & GTA4 to the Vita, but they’re still works in progress, and even on the Vita’s faster hardware there are issues and slowdowns.
It would not be possible on the PSP without substantial re-writes. The GTA Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories games for PSP were dumbed-down significantly from their main console brethren, and something like that was never done for the Bully game.
However, there are official ports available for iPhone and Android that will run on a new enough device. One of those may be your best bet for play on-the-go.
Want a longer battery life? Buy these fairly inexpensive items on Amazon:
USB Charge/Data cable: https://www.amazon.com/Data-Power-USB-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B000LEFKXC
Anker portable charger (chosen for form factor, battery size, and sale price): https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Ultra-Compact-Fast-Charging-Technology/dp/B01CU1EC6Y/ref=zg_bs_7073960011_10
My nearly identical setup used to work amazingly before I gifted my PSP.
get the DS version. It's as good as the final fantasy 1 psp remake
i'm not joking, there's not even any debate to this, the DS one is flat out the best version
i feel like the people that say any different just didn't play it, there's even an option to not use the second screen so it plays almost exactly like the snes version
get it on DS
here's the amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/Chrono-Trigger/dp/B001E27DLM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494223980&sr=8-1&keywords=chrono+trigger+ds
new copies are $24 and the shipping is free if you get like another dollar worth of select products, so grab yourself a cheap dvd or something
i'm dead serious, this is the only thing i ever flat out shut people down on when debating
DS port is god tier, get it
seemingly this one has good reviews, some people really enjoy it and some people have a bad experience with it but within all of amazon it's the most highly rated
good luck
Here's the blow-by-blow:
PSP Go is great. The only issue is battery life (3-4 hours). Not sure if you can get more out of it with just music. Carrying a portable battery bank solves that problem though.
The speakers themselves are weak - worse than most phones. If you want a great stocking stuffer, this little headphone amp/speaker sounds awesome and works well with the PSP Go. Otherwise, you should be able to use headphones or anything bluetooth.
There are no PlayStation brand Memory Cards ; there is Sony branded MS Duo Pro by Magic Gate, and the 256Gb is probably the biggest you can get. I remember they were talking about 2Tb at one point.. Dunno whatever happened to that.
If your question is "What's the largest capacity you can put in a PSP", then it would be 64Gb.
People have stated that anything larger will mess with the XMB and it takes literally minutes to scroll through your games, let alone try to launch one...
No it's not compatible you would need a duo memory stick to work
Edit: Amazon link to the item search on Ebay for cheaper https://www.amazon.com/Funturbo-MagicGate-Playstation-Portable-Handycam/dp/B07F68FCHD?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_marketplace
So I just got this, and wanted to give a quick review for anyone checking Amazon for one, since I know we all love our PSP's here.
The cord is sturdy enough. Doesn't feel flimsy but the ends where the jacks are is loose. By loose I mean those silver cylinders around the jacks slide back and forth.
When you plug it in, the picture is blurry. REALLY blurry. And blotchy. It's really hard to see anything even on a big screen tv.
The image gets cropped to a very small aspect ration. Tried changing it on the PSP, and tv. I can't tell if it's the cord or just a PSP thing, but I've seen others with better picture output.
All in all, you get what you pay for. Don't expect something nice looking like the PSP Go output dock.
If you need something cheap, then sure, pick it... Hope you're playing on a small enough tv not to notice.
Also the length is short so get an av extension cord. You'll need it.
Here's the link: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07NC4VXLD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9zqfFb3XWWHBZ
This instructable has a few cool things you can do with your PSP. Worth checking out, if you can stomach the abomination unto the lord that the instructables website has become.
Here is some more information on FAT32 vs FAT16: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc940351
Your memory stick is fine, you just need to use your laptop to format it.
If your laptop somehow cannot get to the memory card, I don't have any experience with this, but I would imagine that could be caused by your PSP's firmware being outdated.
Keep in mind all the custom firmware stuff these days requires your PSP to be fully up-to-date, on firmware 6.60, so there is no problem updating your existing firmware officially, via Sony, to see that rectifies the issue.
If you cannot get your laptop to format the card thru the psp, you might have to go by a USB card reader for your computer and format it like that. Would think that if your laptop cannot do it thru the PSP, and PSP is updated fully, something is wrong somewhere. Or maybe misconfigured. Hope that helps man.
BTW - what do you mean that it doesn't work with FAT32? your PSP cannot use the card, or your laptop cannot format it? edit: I see your comment about this now skipped over it before. My uneducated guess is you need to update your PSP's firmware. Seems reasonable.
You can make one yourself from an official battery, and I also think DX are still selling the Tool batteries: http://www.dx.com/p/psp-unbricker-pandora-battery-for-psp-1000-2000-1800mah-3-6v-12472 "Item is being restocked", might be an idea to email em and see what the ETA (if any) is.
You can use a slim pandora batt (if you convert the original you have) on a phat psp, you just need to hold the contacts in place.
>did you expect them to convert your UMDs for free
Edit: PSOne classics on PS3 don't bother me since the system can already play PS1 games. I can't shove a UMD in a Go or a Vita though so I don't see what your point is (outside of the fact that it's irrelevant to the discussion of UMDs and PSPs)
Why on Amazon?
Anyway, you might find these useful.
http://playstationcollecting.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=81&threadid=73674
I think I heard this emulator is very good. I think I saw dude playing Freedom 2G recently and it had upgraded textures. I am not sure that's true but it did look much better than the PSP.
Update! I got it to work here is how.
The command prompt screen was telling me I needed a 32bit JRE version, using JRE 7 update 55 & from here : https://www.filehorse.com/download-java-runtime-32/16838/ , everything else was smooth sailing afterwards.
The files and folders you're looking at are the contents of the PSP game itself. You'll want to turn them into an ISO in order to play it.
Instructions for Windows users: (this is only what I know since I don't own a Mac)
Here's a page with pics of each part, for reference.
yea and the new one, although a WAY better machine, at a guess come with a 350 / 400$ tag at launch just for the console, let alone the 50 - 60 $ games. yea you can play the downloaded games etc but you can get a PS3 for that kind of scratch read about it here engadget link
did you try formaatting it in the PC or psp , if pc , do it in psp and if psp try doing it in pc . if that don't work try
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/ or other type of software
I haven't done too much encoding recently but in the past when I wanted to get something working on the PSP I always used HandBrake. https://handbrake.fr/
I assume the file you are converting from is an MKV and with handbrake (you can probably google some video settings on what to choose for PSP) you can choose the audio track as well as the subtitle track to be burned into the encoded file.
In 2012 it was around £75 (102USD) but at the end of 2016 it raised to around £140 (192USD) so it wouldnt of been cheap
Not saying that source is accurate but hopefully it helps :)
There are options. The free ones require some computer knowledge or the ability to at least follow direcrions, or there are ones with nice GUIs to help that cost money.
This one looks promising. It can apparently recover corrupt partitions.
From this article: http://www.computerworld.com/article/2501547/data-storage-solutions-6-data-recovery-tools-for-sd-cards-usb-drives-and-more.html
I've not used any of those so I can't help much beyond that
I'd imagine just using one of those cheap aux adapters can add Bluetooth audio to the PSP: Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter and Receiver, 2-in-1 Wireless 3.5mm Adapter (Low Latency, 2 Devices Simultaneously, for TV/Home Sound System/Car/Nintendo Switch) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098S2HDT5/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_QPPE8YT50SFV7ECPFX2J
Insten psp batteries are notorious, most users say that they fail within a week or don’t work at all. I think the PSP requires a reserve battery charge to even boot, so this could be the problem.
This is the battery that I use. It’s been three weeks and all good so far, you could try one of those. Shop around a bit for a better price, I’ve seen it cheaper.
Yeah but certain PSP models won't work with these cables. Like my PSP 1000 won't work with the link below. Think its only for the 2000/3000 series if I remember right.
BTW I found the cable on amazon for ya
https://www.amazon.com/Component-Cable-Output-Sony-PSP-HDTV/dp/B002UQ59BW
I live in canada so neither of the items can ship to me, I've replaced the hardrive in my ps4 and taken a few ps3's apart so I might just bite the bullet and buy this motherboard.
I wish for the nation that it happens. This stuff is so good!
Edit: amazon has some. Lol
Use your phone to transfer the movie into the PSP micro SD (then put the micro sd into the memorystick adapter). You will need an adapter like this or something similar for an iPhone. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGXR8N3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_RS39EGCVGNC7SV1P990C?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Ok now On that count I wouldn’t get a warm fuzzy powering a device that costs way more than the charger. If it’s cheap and sketchy I would spend money on a legit charger. Ever built a computer? Myself and everyone else who have been doing it for a long time always say invest decent money in the power supply. Don’t cheap on it because it can die and potentially take other more expensive components with it
Same concept applies here.
I have one of these in my office at work and I carry one in my EDC bag. It’ll power my MacBook Air, my iPad, my iPhone, my AirPods, my psp/vita, 3DS and pretty much anything else I could possibly bring along and carry in a backpack.
Also most plugs that power a psp don’t go in all the way. Not sure what’s up with that.
I bought this one last week and it's been great! Solid battery life on my 3000 with it... It is a bit expensive though
Bought these for our PSP's while on road trips. Plug directly into a USB car charger and keep the juice flowing!
Yeah! Im assuming you have a 3000. Heres the tutorial on how to do it step by step. If you have a 2000 or even 1000, process is very similar. Then here is the screen
Here is a hdmi cable for psp: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Hyperkin-HDTV-HDMI-Cable-for-PSP-2000-and-3000-models/223711736386?hash=item3416423242:g:feoAAOSwUf9dqmhv
Here is a component to hdmi: https://www.amazon.ca/Portta-Component-Converter-Scaler-support/dp/B00ATNIFPA/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=psp+to+hdmi&qid=1610314517&sr=8-10
I used this battery in mine it fits and I noticed improved battery life also you’ll need a soldering iron to use the old wiring harness. Infant Optics DXR-8 Rechargeable... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EDQ6LZ0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Plus it’s on Amazon so you should be able to get it no problem
Thank you. I just got the stand the other day. I mostly use it to play rhythm games on my 2ds xl, it fits the stand perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MNWGSLT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The worst MS adapter in my experience was this one. Had to settle for the 1gb card that came with my PSP-3000 when I bought it.
Collapsible controller grip for PSP 2000 and 3000. I got this as I have large hands and would very quickly get thumb cramp when playing and this help reduce this because of its large size. Build quality is quite cheap but does the job and PSP is easy to clip in and out. Also has space the open the UMD draw so you can keep the controller attached
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00K5N11VY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_iGMTFb6408KC7
This case is probably my favorite buy in terms of accessories for the PSP. Its not too fancy and a good price, plus its clear and there is a door for both the UMD drive and for the screen (idk I like the screen door just for doing a quick wipe of the screen).
PSP Memory Stick Adapter, Funturbo Micro SD to Memory Stick PRO Duo MagicGate Card for Sony Playstation Portable, Camera, Handycam https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F68FCHD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_R8HMFbG3NVWHJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Those two things are what I got it’s honestly great
If you want to use MicroSD cards on the PSP, you have to purchase a Memory Stick Duo to MicroSD card adapter. It's cheap and costs $6. Plus, it ships directly from an Amazon fulfillment center. Here's a link to the one I bought:
After that, just insert your microSD card into your adapter, put into your PSP and format it. Voila!
As for the MicroSD card I use, I purchased a 16 GB Samsung EVO MicroSD card a few years ago. It still works great. I definitely recommend purchasing a Samsung MicroSD card, BUT ONLY UP TO 32 GB!!!! THE PSP WILL NOT ACCEPT LARGER SIZES.
I found one of these on amazon for around $15, I think I got it from this link. (It actually was an authentic Cameron Sino pack) https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-PSP-S110-Portable-Playstation-PSP-2000-PSP-2001/dp/B0167BDVD8/ref=pd_sbs_63_1?
I have not used my PSP enough to really put my replacement through its paces, but so far it has held up pretty well (I think I get about 2hrs on a charge)
Something like this to allow you to make as big a card as you want (I think the system will eventually cap at 2 tb) (Don't have to get from amazon) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B6DYDZS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A10DOK4YS4HTMF&psc=1
You'll need a specific set of files with a specific set of skills to make it all go down, there is lots of info throughout the sub.
Good Luck!
I'd like to report on this particular mod because I was able to find a lipo for a slim battery on Amazon.
Ofeely 3.7V 1200mah 603450 Lithium Polymer Battery Li-Po Rechargeable Battery For MP4 MP5 GPS PSP DVD mobile video game PAD E-books tablet PC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016ZV8TQO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_qJYVAbGPKSQ5R
This particular lipo is exactly the right length and width, but not as thick although that's not a problem at all. The problem is getting the protection board off for it to fit inside the battery casing. All it takes is for you to desolder the part.
This was my first soldering project and I think I did a somewhat good job on it. It's been almost a week now and nothing bad like overheating or sparks has happened :). As for the end result well... I haven't done any testing, but it's safe to say that I can get a solid 6 to 8 hours of playtime.
Good luck to anybody else who gives it a shot!
I'm not sure about Sweden, but here in the US I can buy them brand new off of Sony from Amazon. Here is one: https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-Wi-Fi-model-PCH-2000ZA23-Japanese/dp/B014QAIBFU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1534107068&sr=8-3&keywords=vita+slim
If you're in Sweden then look at having it imported or try your local game shops or electronics sellers. They should have them some place.
Here is an eBay listing that ships from Japan (where the Vita was the most succesful and a lot of consoles are from there): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Very-Good-Sony-PS-Vita-3-60-or-more-Silver-PCH-2000-PSV-Body-Only-Japan/253752908148?epid=171606663&hash=item3b14da1974%3Ag%3A-IUAAOSw3iBbSrND&_sacat=0&_nkw=ps+vita+japan&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=p23...
I'd try your local shops or local ebay/craigslist first. Then I'd look at having it imported.
I also have a 1000 model and bought this one from Amazon and can confirm it works fine 100%

With a 4 GB sd card anyway
psp batteries are always a risk since the best ones really dont seem to store well, i ordered a pair for my 3k units and while i havent done a full capacity test with it, it arrived with 60% charge so it seems solid so far and the construction is heavy instead of the more common cheap clones, i found them on the list of current highest rated substitutes
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FBM4E5O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used this battery, but it looks like it's sold out.
https://www.amazon.com/AKZYTUE-5000mAh-6548118-Rechargeable-Connector/dp/B07TXJRPVG
But these dimensions are in the little number, 6.5x48x118mm, so if you find another close to that size it'd work.
I also had to cut into the shell. I have some pics here (ignore my destroying of the headphone jack. If you don't use the JST connector like I did you can fit it with the audio jack intact) http://imgur.com/a/zM61zaT
Honestly, I wouldn't really recommend it. There are 4000mAh batteries that should be more than enough and you don't need to cut into that extra side. But I mostly did it to see if I could, so feel free.
If you use a microSD to Memory Stick Pro Duo Adapter, just get a microSD card reader that has USB-C and plug it into any modern Android phone/tablet and download the update onto the card.
I use this one for most things https://www.amazon.ca/UGREEN-Reader-Adapter-Portable-Windows/dp/B07D1J88CF/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=usb-c+card+reader&qid=1597086517&sr=8-7
No these won't work, unless you use an adapter those are micro sd cards..
This is what an official one look like, https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0013AX2JM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_kZxiFbKKN3MJ0
That's why you need an adapter to use micro sd cards with it. It also fools the psp into thinking it has an official memory stick inserted.
I mean I bought one off of amazon but I'm not sure about shipping for you and it ain't great either, probably only holds 80-90% of the original's charge but if you wanna try I can only link to the US amazon page so you may have to do some digging for it, Here's a Link. And this one somehow works with all models you just have to slice This little nub off (Sorry About the janky circle I literally Did it in paint)
I’m really picky about screen quality. I personally can’t stand dead pixels, aged/yellowed screens, unevenly backlit displays, or any scratching. So when I bought a used PSP Go with a yellowed screen, I started looking at my options.
I started with eBay because prices were good and they had US stock for fast shipping. Ordered one, installed it and was disappointed to see tons of interlacing. Much worse even than a PSP 3000. The original PSP Go screen has no interlacing, so I continued looking for another replacement screen.
The second replacement screen I got was from AliExpress. I’ve had luck on there with Vita screens, so I thought I’d try my luck. Ordered, got it in about a month, installed it and... two big dark spots near the top of the display- pressure marks where the backlight was not uniform- and as an added bonus, one dead pixel. Bummed out, I decided to order one last replacement.
This time I tried Amazon. I heard from some users on this sub that they’d had good luck with screens from there. I originally didn’t order from Amazon because the prices were a bit higher, but I tried it as a last resort. I’m glad I did. No interlacing, no backlight problems, no yellowing, no dead pixels. I know these screens are all generic Chinese aftermarket parts, but this one looks identical to the OEM screen.
I just wanted to share my experience here. Maybe it can save someone the money and time it cost me. I know others may not be as picky as I am, but I know at least some of you are.
TL;DR: eBay and Chinese sites seem to have a bit of a lottery for screen quality, but from others’ experience and my own, Amazon appears to have stock of good quality Go screens. And their return policy is a nice plus.

I found this one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/UCEC-Micro-Memory-Stick-Adapter/dp/B06XHPS43Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536787587&sr=8-1&keywords=PSP+sd+adapter
How does this one work?

Some people use baseball/trading card binders, or photo/floppy disk organizers.

Alternatively, those 4/8 disc soft cases are super cheap and easy to find. Organize your collection into genre, alphabetical, most-used, whatever and split it up among multiple cases.
Cool. Good luck. Slightly off topic but I'm also a new PSP Go-er and this was my favorite accessory I've gotten so far: http://www.amazon.com/PSP-Go-Rechargeable-Hand-Grip-Sony/dp/B0036R862S/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1454650279&sr=1-1&keywords=psp+go+grip
You can find them on ebay if amazon is sold out.
The official Traveler case is really nice quality and fits it well http://www.amazon.com/PSPgo-Traveler-Case-Black-Sony-PSP/dp/B002LHGOU0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1455049685&sr=8-2&keywords=psp+go+case I really like the Guard Kit, it was available in silver and red. Also nice quality. They still seem to be pretty cheap. http://www.amazon.com/PSP-Go-Guard-Kit-Silver-Sony/dp/B003EFFTEK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1455049685&sr=8-5&keywords=psp+go+case
Take this for what you will, but I have two of their 128 GB cards, and I've had no complaints thus far. Also their reviews on Amazon (on their older cards) are somewhat comparable to SanDisk cards. Granted I'd still put more faith in SanDisk, but these prices are some of the lowest yet on Amazon.
No, you can't, not in the PSP go.
This is the one you need:
Yes, 16 gb for 40 bucks and there isn't any higher capacity.
Yeah, either of those two adapters should work, although the second one you linked has a different adapter displayed in the last two pictures than the first two, a bit odd. I myself bought the generic one, which works but now has a crack in it (however all the dual adapters seem to be made from fairly thin plastic, generic or otherwise). Yet again another caution about people having varied success among any of the adapters we listed here.
To format a dual adapter, place both msd cards in the adapter, put inside the PSP, go to system settings>format memory stick. Next swap the memory cards around and format again (check the memory size each time). You may have to swap/format one more time. After this it should be fully functional, just don't swap the cards again after putting stuff onto them as you could lose your data.
Not sure if you want to preserve the original buttons, or just like the feel of the controller in your hand, but I use something similar to this to give me the feel of a controller in my hand, without the hassle of trying to grip the psp on it's own. The one I use is slightly different, but is no longer available from amazon, I bought mine in 2013.
Awesome! I thank you for that information, I threw that SD Card and Adapter in my Amazon bin along with a spare. By the dual adapter you mean something like this or this? Man that changes everything! Sorry to pick your brain like this. My last PSP game save is over a year old, I'm so hype to get it back and start playing games again. It'll be that much better if I do it this way so I can actually get all my games on one card instead of switching all the time.
Might be a faulty adapter, do you have a different one? Or do you have an MS reader for your PC to see if the PC can read the SD through the MS adapter?
I've had to replace these adapters many times as they're unreliable and fragile...
I ultimately just gave up on having a large card with all my games on it and just got the official 32GB MemoryStick (https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B07PB58W71), because ultimately I'll only really play two or three games until I'm done...
sadly i couldnt advance any longer due to work, but ill do my best
thats the unfinished version, im stuck at S, once i get time ill go on and then delete japanese standalone expansion packs which include the og game, something that was very common with the psp so i left it last
yes there is a prebuild toolchain but I don't understand how to install that one either (maybe just extracting to / ? that does not seem correct?), since it doesn't come with instructions. also I figured it might not be compatible with my setup.
yes the script was building binutils with psp patches, however it crashed when building the "bfd.info" documentation file.
I will also make a post on StackOverflow, maybe someone over there can help me.
i think you got a program to go with the booster but i never used it, it just worked straight out the box for my psp also works on things that use wifi to control using your phone like lights or fish tank feeders, air purifiers all can only use 2.4hz so the booster comes in handy
this is the one i have
Yes. Although you should note that the memory card that the PSP uses is a proprietary shape. There are many adapters you can use to get around this. These would be a micro SD to memory stick duo. Here's the one I personally use. (Link Below) The PSP can recognize up to 120GB reliably. I have not tested anything larger than this so, there may or may not be issues with larger amounts of memory. Keep in mind however, that the larger the memory the longer loading times will take to load games saved on the memory stick
Get an SD card adapter and a micro SD card to expand internal storage (I recommend a 64 GB micro SD) https://www.amazon.com/Funturbo-MagicGate-Playstation-Portable-Handycam/dp/B07F68FCHD/ref=asc_df_B07F68FCHD/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309807187084&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3193358860117216717&hvpone=&hvptwo=&... I usually just kept a portable battery and played with it plugged in lol.
But a vita is next on my list after I get my ps3 and ps5 sorted out.
this is the grip I referred, it just makes it look so comfortableto
Well, the only thing I need clarified right now at the moment is:
the PSP that I ordered doesn't come with a memory card. So is it recommended that I buy this: https://www.amazon.com/Funturbo-MagicGate-Playstation-Portable-Handycam/dp/B07F68FCHD/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=XJDM7ON5HRYP&keywords=psp+memory+stick+adapter&qid=1668484425&sprefix=psp+m%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
and the actual SD card? And if so, do I need to do anything to make it work or do I just simply plug it in?
wait is this for the psp 1000? Found something similar on amazon...
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09KMY726F/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3A3RBPU7TMIWE&psc=1
You should look after memory stick micro sd adapter (like https://www.amazon.com/Memory-Adapter-Converter-CR-5400-CR5400/dp/B075DDGYVG/ref=sr\_1\_1?crid=133BCP4M3CY96&keywords=cr+5400&qid=1667244498&sprefix=cr+5400%2Caps%2C335&sr=8-1 with dual micro sd capability or https://www.amazon.com/Funturbo-MagicGate-Playstation-Portable-Handycam/dp/B07F68FCHD/ref=pd\_bxgy\_img\_sccl\_1/131-8427508-7635323?pd\_rd\_w=bwwgt&content-id=amzn1.sym.7757a8b5-874e-4a67-9d85-54ed32f01737&pf\_rd\_p=7757a8b5-874e-4a67-9d8...) or if you want be truly psp fan just find memory stick pro duo from Sandisk or maybe even from sony
Yes. Put another battery in it. Yours has probably become a dud.
It may wake up with repeated attempts to use it, but may as well get a new battery.
Hey, I bought this battery an hour or so ago, I just wanted to ask if this is the right one for a PSP 3001
Not sure if it helps you somehow, but here is still one for 33Euros. Not sure if you can somehow order it from different countries...
