MH World comes out on PC next year. The other two PC ones- MH Frontier and MH Online are Japanese and Chinese and require proxies, translations and more to function.
MH 4 Ultimate is the best one in the series, in my opinion, but I'm also a huge fan of MH3U- if you can get if for the Wii U, especially. MH Generations is good but doesn't have that same "heart" if you get what I mean. These are all on the 3DS, and excellent games.
MH Portable 3rd and a few others on the PSP can be emulated on a PC. The most commonly used emulator is the PPSSPP, which I don't know how to operate. If you don't have a 3DS, wait for World or emulate the older ones. Be warned- games of the first and second generation (Freedom Unite is the most infamous) are infamous for being very difficult... as a result of controls and monsters being somewhat wonky. The infamous Plesioth hipcheck is a great example.
The Monster Hunter series is known for being difficult, but if you're a newcomer I'd highly recommend emulating Portable 3rd or waiting for World. The older games are harder to get into as a newcomer, as they haven't aged too well (in my opinon) compared to modern ones.
I have one, but the battery expanded. You can have it, but I really must insist that before you go through the effort to get a new battery and charge cable, you look up the PSP Emulator: PPSSPP. This runs on potato computers and phones. If you are going to play a psp game then use it. You can't really support the devs anymore so I don't really have an issue with advocating for this approach. If you choose to go down this rabbit hole make sure that you have an adblock - some of the website can have dodgy ads (my suggestion is ublock origin)
You can! Download the PPSSPP emulator, it can be used on PC or even Android. It’s probably the most user friendly emulator out there and offers an even better experience than the PSP. Daxter looks much better in 4K and he plays superbly with a ps4 controller.
There is no way to do that.
MHF2/MHFU and MH:World are separated by 3 generations of MH titles, across several different consoles (from PSP to PS3, Wii, Wii U, 3DS, Switch, and now with World PS4, Xbox One, and PC).
What you can do with the savefiles, since you've had them for a while, is copy them over to your PC and use them to play MHF2/MHFU on the PSP Emulator, PPSSPP:
As for Monster Hunter: World; you can simply make a new character and name it/try to customize it to look like your old character.
I'm not going to go into any of the disallowed stuff for obvious reasons, but as far as Emulators go your best (and only, really) bet would be PPSSPP. Convenient, since it's one of the best emulators out there in terms of usability and interface IMO, alongside Dolphin.
There's a beginners guide for PPSSPP on the official forum here, though I haven't used it to check if it's up to date etc myself, it should work good to go off of.
Sure, It has been pretty easy for the PSP, I used PPSSPP emulator, the link for it is www.ppsspp.org . You just download the one that is free, there is a "gold" version for it but the basic one works great. Then you just install it. this one is very easy to use
1.61 was just released and you can get it from the ppsspp website. Multithreaded for opengl and vulcan has been improved. It will eventually end up in the playstore but right now is only on the site.
The link you provided only works for the PPSSPP Emulator (PC and mobile devices). This is not a functionality available on a PSVita version of the game.
Those texture mods are good enough, but you will need PPSSPP to mod and play the modded game:
Like /u/TragicHero84 said, use PPSSPP to emulate and use the slowdown fix patch. But since you're saying you want to cheat past the difficulty, there are CWCheat codes to buzz past any combat hurdles, or the LionEditor save editor that will let you simply set character stats to 999 HP and MP and give yourself the best items (or more modest enhancements to still preserve some of the fights).
Notes:
1) CWCheat requires saving a file in the PPSSPP folder: \memstick\PSP\Cheats\ and it must be named ULUS10297.ini
2) The cheats file must start with:
> _S ULUS-10297
> _G Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions [US]
3) The cheats themselves will start with either _C0 or _C1. Set to 1, then code is turned on. Set to 0, the code is off. You can't toggle them while playing.
4) If you'd rather use the save editor, you need to make a change to the PPSSPP configuration. In \memstick\PSP\SYSTEM\ppsspp.ini, change "EncryptSave" to False. Then, after you have saved your game (using the in-game menus, not a save state), rename the "FFTA.SYS" file in your save to "lioneditor.bin". Now LionEditor can edit it. Then rename it back when you're done.
5) Your mileage may vary, but I have not found a way to prevent significant stuttering in the audio and frameskipping in PPSSPP 1.5.4. If I revert to 1.2.2, it works perfectly for me. Either way, you will have to experiment some with the settings to get a smooth experience.
I'd recommend using an emulator. I've been using this emulator (https://www.ppsspp.org/ ) to emulate my PSP Protector of the Earth Game and it's great - presumably also works for Alien Force, Vilgax Attacks and Cosmic Destruction as well if you have the ROMs for them, although if you wanted to play Omniverse it would probably be better to use Dolphin Emulator (which emulates Nintendo games including those on the Wii)
I think I heard this emulator is very good. I think I saw dude playing Freedom 2G recently and it had upgraded textures. I am not sure that's true but it did look much better than the PSP.
You really cant go wrong. Most you see on Amazon are perfectly adequate. PPSSPP officially recommend the MOGA line.
https://www.ppsspp.org/guide_hardware.html
Really though any will do and you should fine one you like the feel of. The two main types are the "over the top" and Switch style.
This is from the standalone emulator but it might work for the lr-core too: https://www.ppsspp.org/faq.html
> How do I install game DLC?
> Install it exactly the same way as you would on a PSP, that is, copy the files to PSP/GAME or PSP/SAVEDATA (depending on the DLC) on the memory stick. In the Android version of PPSSPP, the memory stick is simply the SD card or USB storage of your phone, PPSSPP will create a PSP folder in the root of that. On Windows without installer, the memory stick is the "memstick" subdirectory in the PPSSPP folder. On iOS, it's in /User/Documents/PSP/ . On Mac and Linux, it's in ~/.config/PPSSPP.
Try downloading the portable version and testing it out? I used that one to play.
https://www.ppsspp.org/downloads.html - just download the version that has .zip at the end and extract into a folder, tell me if something differente happens. if it doesn't work too, your other option is unnistalling and installing again.
and by official version, I meant if you got the emulator from the official site or dowloaded from another one. Those can have patches or just be an old version that doesn't work properly anymore.
It's not like MMJ It's more like the dolphin dev builds on the dolphin emu website that get updated daily
I also just learned about this recently I noticed that the play store version wasn't updated since July last year so i thought maybe they had nightly builds on their website Like retroarch and dolphin do
I checked this website and if you scroll down you will see they have a list of the latest builds
I don't have a PSTV, so this will all hinge on if you can find a way to access your save game data from that system. If so, you are looking for:
> \SAVEDATA\ULUS10297FFT0000\FFTA.SYS
Move the entire folder containing FFTA.SYS to your PC.
You need to decrypt the save. This is easiest by installing PPSSPP.
Browse into the folders and place the save folder inside the save folder:
> \ppsspp1.9.4\memstick\PSP\SAVEDATA\
Adjust one configuration file:
> \ppsspp1.9.4\memstick\PSP\SYSTEM\ppsspp.ini
> EncryptSave = False
Run PPSSPP, load your save, and save again in-game using the menus. This will overwrite your FFTA.SYS file with the decrypted version.
Rename the FFTA.SYS to lioneditor.bin
Finally you can run LionEditor 0.147 to edit this save. Make whatever changes you like.
Rename the lioneditor.bin back to FFTA.SYS
Edit the PPSSPP configuration again to EncryptSave = True
Run PPSSPP and load, then re-save, your game again.
Copy the folder back onto your PSTV.
For the emulator, I recommend PPSSPP. Obviously, you're going to need a decent computer to emulate, so if you have a gaming PC - even a midrange one - you should be okay.
As for getting the ROM, that's going to be kind of difficult. To many, downloading ISOs is a grey area morally and legally because technically you are illegally downloading a copy of a game. If you already own a physical copy of the game, then you should be fine, but as I said, this is kind of a grey area. Because of that, I can't give specifics on where to find the game due to reddit's and /r/starwars' rules, but if one were to google the game followed by "PSP ISO", you should be able to find it on your own. The second link *hint hint wink wink * works for me.
The instructions for finding how to play the game are easy enough to find on the website and through Google/YouTube.
I advise using a controller as well, so if you have a wired 360 controller, or something to game with, that would be preferable.
Sorry for being vague, but hopefully that's a little helpful.
Here is another link that has some more detail. But it should be noted that EmuParadise - the place where the OP points to to download the game - has been taken down and you can't download anything from there anymore.
PPSSPP is an open source PSP emulator:
It’s 100% free (but you can donate and get a “gold” version too for that extra swag)
It has apps for Android (play store) and iOS (side load with cydia impactor) and Windows and Linux and Mac as well.
PPSSPP can run nearly all PSP games (small list excluded) at near 100% frame rate and minimal graphical glitches. It also supports running lots of PSP home brew as well :)
yeah, use PPSSPP, get the fate/extra iso from "certain places" and load it with the emulator
Just letting you know that CCC does not have an english translation at the moment
Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre, both released for the PlayStation Portable, are regarded as some of the best in the genre. You can emulate these using the PPSSPPP emulator.
If you're asking on where you can get the game(s), there's a couple solutions.
If you're asking where you can get the translation, you'll have to wait until we release a patch. We update the subreddit whenever an important update comes out, so you can either follow this collection, the subreddit, or me if you'd like to see whenever an update comes out.
Let me know if this helps!
PPSSPP. One of the best emulators out there, with great compatibility, excellent performance and an exemplary UI. It's available for almost every platform under the sun (provided it's powerful enough).
Note that some games don't run well enough on weaker Android devices.
Also note that the Gold version for Android does not have any extra features. It's intended as a donation to the developers.
Just opening the amt file in notepad it is in Russian but looks fairly legit, I dn't see how it can leak out of PPSSPP to do anything to your PC and everything seems to be related to the game.
Is it the PPSSPP your AV doesn't like maybe? Make sure it is from https://www.ppsspp.org/

according to official site, PPSSPP is not natively available on mac, and that you're gonna have to compile it from the source code. Thankfully, the PPSSPP folk have provided a detailed instruction of how to do this
If you want an emulator, consult the emulation wiki; they're very useful for figuring out which one to get. In your case, you want PSP, so let's head over to the PSP page and see that the only recommended one is PPSSPP, so we'll follow it's page to this download page that should be safe and easy, though note that it's only available on Windows and Android. You can use the same process for any emulator you want.
I've only just found out about this incredible PSP emulator where you can play old PSP games on PC/Laptop. My PSP broke years ago so I'm having a blast playing my old games via emulator. Particularly the Final Fantasy games.
If anyone wants to check the emulator out it's called PPSSPP and can be downloaded for free here
Download PPSSPP then download the Fate/Unlimited Codes then open PPPSSPP click file then open, find the game then click it. You are done.
This is the official site. PPSSPP is definitely safe and has no viruses whatsoever. Mostly lag and black screen issues but I’ve never experienced that on the phone or computer.
I have actually emulated Tag Force myself.
First download PPSSPP, here’s the link.
https://www.ppsspp.org/downloads.html
Then download GX Tag Force 2. Here’s the link.
https://www.emuparadise.me/PSP_ISOs/Yu-Gi-Oh!_GX_Tag_Force_2_%28USA%29/157657
go to their download page on their website and download the latest version of ppsspp ipa. i saw that the one on their repo barely gets updated
edit: https://www.ppsspp.org/downloads.html download the one for ios
Yeah just download PPSSPP (or any psp emulator) and google "Perona 1 psp ROM" and you're good to go. This is piracy though (or morally gray at best ) so only do it if you're okay with that.
This js what I found. I have a psp emulator downloaded from play store. Downloading the game from link below. And then instructions:
If you want to play on your Android device (or other portable), then follow these steps:
Install PPSSPP on your device
Connect the device to your PC where you are storing the ISO or CSO file. Android devices can be easily connected via USB cable.
The device should show up in Windows Explorer. Now simply copy over the files to somewhere easy to remember - for example, create a folder called "PSP ISO" and copy your ISO and CSO files there.
Now, start PPSSPP, navigate to your new ISOs on the Games tab, then click the game, which now should show up with an icon.
The game should now start.
That's it!
Finishing download now and ill let you know. Game from link is 1.3gig

From the ppsspp faq ( https://www.ppsspp.org/faq.html ):
Do I need a BIOS file to run PPSSPP?
"No. PPSSPP simulates the BIOS and the internal OS. It does not currently emulate enough of the hardware for the actual PSP operating system to run, so even if you have a copy of it, PPSSPP can't run it."
Note: the only info about the store I could find on ppsspp.org was under the "Guides & Help > How to get homebrew apps" section, and the only thing it really said was that the store exists.
“Where can I find them? PPSSPP has a built-in homebrew store which hosts some of them. Other than that, they're all over the internet, use Google.”
PSPP is a GNU project made for Linux, IBM SPSS has a native version for Linux, and the PPSSPP emulator also runs on Linux.
PSP: PPSSPP is by far the most developed and, imo, the best there is. Per its description, it can even run on smartphones. Very easy to use. Also features resolution upscaling to make games look extra crisp.
PSX: You've got a couple of options. Mednafen is the most updated from what I know. You'll probably want to watch a video to get this set up. The other option is ePSXe. It's old as hell and hasn't been updated since 2016 according to the website, but it's functional.
PS2: There's only one option worth considering: PCSX2. This thing's nearly 20 years old, but it's the forerunner of PS2 emulation and still actively being developed. Easy to use, practically plug-and-play. Only problem is getting a BIOS for it, which you can Google for more info.
That's good to hear that you can emulate and also don't forget about Peace Walker, you'll need PPSSPP for that.
>4 is the only one my PC can't handle
It still bugs me that the game was exclusively designed for the PS3's hardware (Cell Architecture comes to mind) and I think you'll need a hacked version of the PS3 emulator to play it from what I've heard. It's still far from stable but hopefully they'll fix it sooner rather than later.

I’m using it through my laptop. It took a while to configure it, but Here is what I did:
Download PPSSPP from their website. I got the rom from [https://cdromance.com/psp/final-fantasy-vii-crisis-core/]
The controller took the longest. I’ll track down the steps I used and update the comment later
PPSSPP is homebrew software https://www.ppsspp.org/downloads.html
The only sketchy thing is the game ISO as its technically piracy if you do not own an OG copy of the Game -->ISO (Disc image)

If you have game saves PPSSPP can use them
Ace combat X at 5K internal resolution https://imgur.com/hGGRiZt
>I'm now hoping to see a port of Crisis Core announced at some point since I never had a PSP.
Have you tried PPSSPP? Because it was fast enough for me to enjoy, after I accidentally spilled Coke/Sprite on my original PSP >_<"
If you are still interested in playing some of the PSP games have you tried PPSSPP?
It's just an emulator that runs PSP games on your PC or Android phone. Hop this helps.

So PPSSPP is out (since a while now - 27.10.2018) and it may fix the issue. But Solus still uses 1.6.3. And Flatpak also has 1.6.3. However on their website the builds for 1.7 are out. Maybe an update would solve the issue/issues? Also maybe we will get the update soon...
EDIT: Arch (Linux) also has 1.6.3 as you can see here.
Oh yeah, I’m playing Persona 3 Portable (as shown in the vid) and it works just fine. Er, though the lagging is user error and not PPSSPP’s fault 😂 That said, you should check the minimum requirements to run it on their website if you need to
Also, if you do get it, I recommend getting one of those controllers you can put in your computer so you can play easier instead of just using your keyboard... but that’s just my preference 😁 No shame in sticking to your keyboard
Do you have a wired xbox controller?
Use the PPSSPP emulator on PC, and you can use an xbox controller. Edit: I actually played through it with an xbox controller and it worked perfectly. But I don't remember if you have to set anything up for it to work, except for the driver of course.
Wireless controllers would require an extra accessory to work with PCs.
Haven't tested it for myself, but I checked out the PPSSPP homepage and it looks like it has Mac listed under compatibility:
With that said, it looks like you can! If you can't get it on a Mac, I know for a fact you can Boot Camp or use a VM to get Windows on Mac
You could try emulating the PSP version on your phone or PC, it's really a light game. The emulator is called PPSSPP, and it's available for basically every platform.
I'm partial to the PSP version because it has sharp graphics (at least in comparison to SNES/GBA), and I despise the chibi style of the DS versions of FF3/4/TaY: I understand it was because of the target hardware and budget, but it really doesn't fit with the tone of the game.
PPSSPP is a great PSP emulator. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite works perfectly on it, and it looks much better in 1080p with upscaled textures, AA, post processing etc. So that is an option.
