I just edited it and have comments on every line so you can understand what's going on.
I use Nox App for this.
Full screen is recommended, so your game stays where it is and your coordinates hold true.
Raw Power RM, moderate chance to start battle with full ATB. It's Zell's RM2, it's good so go get it.
He has a "Haste+InstantCast*3" LM. You can replace him with any character with the same LM or Ramza with LMR. I guess I chose Zack for flair.
You can force it to display by intercepting and editing battle.json.
On Android this can be easily achieved by using FFRKompanion
Don't look at me, look at the game designers' decisions. Let me ask you a question instead: do you get sub-30 rewards when you clear a magicite fight in 00:30.00? Yes you do.
That's not a question, so I won't answer.
What does the Vol. 1 soundtrack only being available digitally on iTunes have to do with being an Android user? iTunes can be downloaded onto your PC, regardless of what type of phone you use. I do, however, agree that it's silly to limit to iTunes alone.
The Vol. 2 soundtrack is available digitally from Amazon.
That's a really weird pronounciation guide they have, but tahy-row is not far off from people saying tie-row.
OED says: ˈtʌɪrəʊ which uses the standardized International Pronunciation Guide
This indicates as you're pronouncing the word, your tongue should be in the middle of your mouth for a, moving forward from the a to the i noise (this is what they're trying to force you to do by saying "tahy"), then back to the middle for the e, and to the back of your mouth for u. So your tongue starts middle, goes forward, then goes back to end near the rear of your mouth.
Merriam-Webster says Tye-row
Which are all basically the same thing, and how I expect people have mostly been pronouncing Tyro all along.
https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/tyro
https://www.merriam-webster.com/word-of-the-day/tyro-2015-04-24
I only learned what Tyro meant like a month ago when somebody posted it. Fun to see it's not only a real word, but one that is actually used.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and fun fact, it's pronounced "tee-row" not "tie-row" like I imagine a lot of us pronounce (myself included even knowing the right answer). Yet another Final Fantasy protagonist with an easy-to-mispronounce name.
Not exactly familiar with the pronunciation key being used there, but isn't that pronounced the same as tie-row?
Tie-row is how Merriam-Webster seems to pronounce it.
Welcome! You're bound to be confused by a lot of things here, especially today since people are excited about news from Japan.
We've got a Questions Megathread where people can help out with any questions you might have, we also have a Community Discord.
The Guide/Analysis flair isn't appropriate for this post, that would be if you were giving us a guide or analysis.
And finally, !Beginner
It's Google-translated website
For the fire one: (Blazing) 連続魔法剣・豪炎 - "炎" is flame alright, but "豪" means great, but is also an abbreviation of the somewhat old-school "豪太剌利" (Australia). So Google took it as "Aussie-flame"
For the water one: (Engulfing) 連続魔法剣・水燕 - It's "Water-Swallow"... idk how it became swimsuit.
Also on the page
Earth: 連続魔法剣・砂紋 -> is "ripple mark", as in a geology term.
Wind: 連続魔法剣・狂風 -> raging wind
Now that's quite the bummer...
I honestly hope that RES might have something in store to add custom CSS to specific subreddits. Sure it'll be work on the community's part, but we should be able to apply our own CSS to the pages.
I use NordVPN with its Obfuscated servers option when I am in China to make FFRK work. FFRK does not work without it on Airport and Hotel WiFi networks. I have not tried local Cellphone providers or an International travel data package from a US Cell provided so cannot confirm functionality there.
Not only does Facebook/Youtube not work, but neither do other common apps such as Gmail, Google Play Store, WhatsApp, etc. Bing search/Skype used to work as of last year but I am not sure it still does. All of these work fine with NordVPN and its Obfuscated server option.
I think you’re thinking of the “Squall actually died from the ice attack” theory, which was squashed by the producer last year.
https://kotaku.com/is-squall-really-dead-final-fantasy-producer-addresses-1800007113
FFVIII constantly gives hints about Laguna and Squall being related so it would be nuts for it not to be true at this point imo.
Personally, I run Andy as my emulator of choice. Only problem I had with the most recent version was they started grouping icons into folders so they could deliver pre-loaded apps. To get around this, just pull your apps icons out of those folders and delete them. After that, just don't ever update the Andy Home app like it asks, and it won't re-deploy them.
Doesn't come rooted, but can be easily enough. The rootkit is easy to find.
> currently in China
That shouldn't be a problem. I go very often and I've never had a problem, other than perhaps slower speeds depending on the connection.
Just use a VPN (ExpressVPN is free) and route through Japan or maybe Hong Kong and you should be able to play just fine.
I use an app called stamina manager, it works for other games too. You have to manually enter your current/max stamina though.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.gr.java_conf.naktak_app.gamestamina
I think it's possible to make an app that could poll your account via one-time-code but I don't have time to work on it.
I disagree with that completely, As much as I defend 13 as a game, the 13 series are pretty shit ports.
13 and 13-2 framerates are unstable even on top end hardware (Gtx 1070 and a 6600k) frame drops are wildly bad and LR animations are not proper at 60 FPS.

6, 9, and 10 on a technical level were much better.
The best antidote against paralyzing fear is writing everyone you really want to dive, then make a random roll for it (use a multi-sided dice, or a site like random.org). Go with whatever destiny told you to improve.
> And the winner is... DAILY DRAW SG BY RATHIDRACONIS Let salt fly[15]
Thanks for the salt everyone! I'm impressed my oddball luck made a nomination. I feel like that was the games way of telling me I should go back to Tyro and use him more. Ever since then I've been using him and now I realize why a natural Wall is so strong, especially on a jack-of-all-trades. So just to add on the salt, I figured I'd update my luck with Tyro with 2 more screenshots: My Library My Soul Breaks
To those willing to use this on your Android phone:
Install tPacketCapture https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.taosoftware.android.packetcapture
Load it
Open FFRK and do something (change a menu)
Quit the VPN connexion (notification bar)
Open tPacketCapture again to find where the file containing the data is saved
Copy that file to a PC with WireShark installed
Open it with WireShack
Search for "http_session_sid" (ctrl+F) on the packet detail
Profit
Edit:
ThanKYOU keeper!
Kanji-puns, nuances, and deliberate Kanjis will never be translated and can never be translated right. I mean, look at the word they choose for "Pulse" in ff13 - 下界<パルス> - it's pronounced Parusu (Pulse) but the Kanji means The earth.
The devs aren't even native English speakrs so EN puns may elude them as well. Oh well, as long as they don't say "Attack while it's tail is up!" again....
I think a lot of people play on phones, but if you want an emulator on PC then Bluestacks 5 works just fine. I don't think you need to "learn" anything special, you just go to the play store and download FFRK. It will ask you to log into your google account and then you can switch between your phone and the emulator as often as you like without any extra work.
In the very least, I will vouch for the quality. Everything is crisp and hi-res; if anything it's a little too good as summon animations and global spells like Hastega have ultra-fast animations when performed. Not sure if it's just my emulator (Bluestacks-N) or a result of an uncapped CPU/max RAM allocation, but it's always funny to see and at least the game is saved from the supposed PSP slowdown.
Andy has been fantastic for me. The only downside so far is that you have to manually update it if a new version comes out (i.e. you have to uninstall old version --> Install new one).
It plays everything so far. I have 3 games on it, FFRK, Fallout Shelter and Heavenstrike Rivals. All work flawlessly (sometimes I've had very rare instances of freezing in FO:Shelter, but just had to restart).
There's no "official" recommended emulator (many vets will argue the merits of one versus another), but I personally prefer Nox over the few others I've experimented with (BlueStacks, Droid4X, etc.).
You should be able to simply log in to your Google account to automatically retrieve your account data, but you will have to manually search for FFRK in the Play Store. (There may be 2 versions of "Play Store" on your emulator. If you don't find FFRK available to download, look for a different Play Store.)
If you want to go the extra mile, you can also use Nox with the FFRK Drop Tracker, but it's not mandatory if you don't want to mess with proxy settings.
Well... hard to judge. Pokémon RGBY without a doubt is a gigantic tag on the gaming world's history - Once coming up with classic Game Boy titles, Pokémon will easily be the top mentioned game 99% of the time. There's certainly merit in the pick. It's the most sold franchise for sure (whether it is the most sold individual game, I've found conflicting numbers, with some sites showing Red/Blue as the most sales ( http://www.listal.com/list/bestselling-game-boy-games ) while Wikipedia lists Tetris first). It's influence in the media isn't, thus, only hearsay, but based on pretty solid numbers.
Final Fantasy obviously has similar achievements (namely 7's insane impact in Western markets), but Pokémon is the hallmark of handheld gaming in the 90s. That is not something to discredit.
FT Helper is the simplest solution I'm aware of, although at least on my phone I have to redo the proxy settings every time I want to run it.
It's $23 on Amazon:

Not great since it's $16 on iTunes:

I virtually never advertise it, but if you're on Android and have some time to kill waiting for FFRK to work, you can play my puzzle game Dust Bunny Sweep for free.

it's because Android and JavaScript are like napalm and a blowtorch. JavaScript runs like complete and utter shit on android and FFRK is almost exclusively JavaScript.

I will note that the announcement says 5:00PM PST/1:00AM UTC. Those two times do not correspond. 1AM UTC is actually 6PM PST. I should update, while what we in the US call PST is not actually PST: http://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/pst
This is also a bit of a misnomer because no one actually uses PST right now as every area in this time zone follows PDT. Alaska does it's own thing.
TDLR: 6PM PST US version
Thanks. No wonder it seemed like my Regenga wasn't working. Didn't know the Sap was cancelling it out.
Got really close on my last try. But Auron ended up dying before he could use his Sync. I think the boss was only around half health or so when that happened. Just when I thought it was possible for Genesis to finish the rest of the fight on his own, the boss attacked before I could heal everyone. So frustrating.
And here I thought things were going pretty well (imperils actually proc, Tyro was able to Entrust to both Balthier and Elarra, Genesis and Auron were breaking the damage cap after using their SBs) even though I made a few mistakes like I was waiting to cast Elarra's Ultra after the Sap but I forgot there was a second one almost right after the first and how Genesis's trance got activated even before I could use his Awakening.
I hope I can get it right next try. Maybe I should wait for the second Discharge before going all out? I had to stall for a few seconds when the second Discharge happened which seemed like a waste of time because both Auron and Genesis already had their Awakenings active when that happened. And would I be better off replacing Salsa with Curada or should I just go with Valigarmanda for faster SB charge? Also, how long does Regenga last?
Unless you have to install a certificate manually like we do here, it's not much of a problem. Let's Encrypt creates 3 month valid certs and hosters run scripts that automatically request new certificates. End users never even notice that.
There's a Sweden/Philippines "soft launch" right now; basically the Global game but limited to the first island. Confirmed to be no wipes, so that's good!
Easiest place to get it is here :)
I just found out about Gitbook the other day. Probably easier than MS Word to PDF since you can copy/paste the source of the post and then download it in whatever format you want. I just did that with the Legendary Plunder event.
I do it using my PC and LonelyScreen. My PC needs to be on the same WiFi network as my iPhone, then I can AirPlay to the PC. It is free.
If you're talking iOS as in Mac, then I heard QuickTime natively has the ability to record.
EDIT: And I second the request for video. This would be quite entertaining to see!
I'm really sorry to hear that. I'd be pissed and writing emails. If it weren't for the money spent, I would just walk away and never think about FFRK again, lest I get enraged. But with the spending I'd think of it as an investment, and continuously write support. You don't have the game to play, so politely and calmly write them 2-3 times a day, and very friendly-like insist that while one account may be lost, the primary account is worth quite a bit and that they should be able to restore it to some point in it's timeline. Don't give up, be insistent but polite, make it impossible to ignore.
And, to find the humor in it, this is the first thing I thought of when reading your story. (sorry for bad quality, only link I could find)
I used https://www.wanikani.com/ for a while, it's pretty good for learning Kanji (though I only got about halfway through before quitting, I should get back into that at some point). I can't read everything, but things like medal conditions and ability/relic descriptions are usually easy enough to understand.
> Pallete Swap Tyro (Green, Yellow, Red, White, Black)
I actually made that, you can swap the sprites by editing the cache files.
https://www.odrive.com/s/09144e39-fe74-4971-8828-e703a610b2dc-58f411be
Apparently you can use something like Charles, but as far as I'm aware there's no specific tools to manage and interpret it for you. I'm not a mobile developer, but my general understanding is that the App Store (unlike Google Play) doesn't allow for the kind of functionality that such an app requires to work.
It works for me. I just point the settings in the wifi settings to the proxy.

Did you remember to install the certificate on the phone? https://mitmproxy.org/doc/certinstall/webapp.html
I'm trying to use FT helper app to track drops (especially for labyrinth), but it always says "no battle data available". I've followed all the steps on the apps page (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ffrktoolkit.ffrktoolkithelper&hl=en&gl=US), but it won't work. Can anyone give me some guidance? Or another droptracker for android?
I recall reading Android devices can use Game Tuner in order to artificially limit FFRK's FPS and have way more reaction time that way; haven't tested it myself as I got my 41 the hard way and didn't look back, but people on GF were positive about it.
Does everything else but FFRK work flawlessy on data connection? If so, do me a favour and try to play the game on data through a VPN. Most free ones have a data cap. Hotspot Shield is very simple to use, although I don't really like the app cause it's too intrusive. Don't setup notification access or app lock bullshit, just start the app and connect. If it works then I think I might know what the problem is. Also, another quick test: when at home, connect to wifi, open the game and then at the screen with the blue Play button DISCONNECT from wifi (obviously you should still have data connection enabled), wait for the network connection to settle on anything but 2G/edge and then try tapping Play.
Also, Android or iOS? Device? Version? Root, xposed, jailbait?
PIA (Private Internet Access) is high regarded as is considered one of the best VPN available.
They take anonymity very seriously and do not log any activities.
And it only cost $3 bucks a month or something.
I've lived in China for years, and the best advice I can give is if you really really care about being able to play a game, you'll pay for a VPN-- the free ones don't cut it.
I'd recommend Express VPN, Astrill, or Strong VPN (the most expensive one, but the most reliable). You'll want to set the VPN up on your devices before you leave, and make sure you have the VPN company's contact info written down.
I've only recorded a couple (eg), but Google Play Games has a built in recorder which is pretty minimal, but functional and was already on the phone even. Just needed to launch FFRK through the Play Games app.
In the past, I recorded a few emulated (Nox) FFBE things just through a generic PC screen recorder.
To prevent the screen from locking while I'm playing FFRK (since it's annoying not only in MP, but also while clearing dailies and easy dungeons in auto mode) I have installed this free app called Caffeine.
You can set it to start as soon as you run an app of your choice, and it keeps the screen on all the time until you close the selected app.
Possibly. I looked into it some, and it might be possible by adding an APN
that is set up like the Wi-Fi proxy settings. Sadly, my carrier doesn't allow me to change APNs, so I can't test it. If you are feeling frisky, you can go to your Settings
, and click Mobile Networks
(also possibly Cellular Network
or something like that). You might have to click More
or something like that near the top of your settings to get to the Mobile Networks
option. From there, you should be able to add a new APN
and select it. WARNING: This could screw up MMS or mobile data or I don't even know. I can't test it, so you're definitely on your own. Don't blame me if your phone stops working or runs off to Hollywood to be an actress.
A second, possibly less crazy option is to try something like Drony. It's a VPN that runs locally that you can force data to flow through FFRKompanion without screwing around with Wi-Fi proxies. I haven't been recommending it to people because it seems a little flaky to me, but it's probably an option if you're willing to have to reload FFRK from time to time or toggle Drony off and back on.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.mbga.a12016007.lite
You can also play it on any browser if you want. Don't worry, the game is in English, but getting in might be a little tricky. Use this for guidance on how to make an account and such.
To emphasize, this is doable on Android with no external devices and no root access if you use the Packet Capture app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.greyshirts.sslcapture
I can't see any mention of nefariousness about the app; can anyone vouch for this more positively?
No ill effects so far, AFAICT.
I used an app called tpacketcapture.
first open the app and start a capture session, while this is running open ffrk, you have to click the play button (and the OK button if you are in a battle) this will log the session id.
now tap on the notification to end the capture session.
back inside tpacketcapture tap on the file list menu. here it will tell you the name and location of any pcap files that you have made. Copy this new file to your computer, if you long press the file you can actually email it to yourself which is an easy cable free option to get it onto your pc.
now open the file with notepad.
use ctrl+f to search for 'cookie'.
i've done this twice now and for both files you should find what you are looking for at the second instance of 'cookie'
it should look something like this:
Content-Length: 463
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
Host: ffrk.denagames.com
Connection: Keep-Alive
User-Agent: android-async-http/1.4.1 (http: //loopj.com/android-async-http)
Cookie: http_session_sid=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
(64 characters)
now just copy and paste that into codyswann's app.
let me know if that works for you!
one interesting thing to note is that in my two separate files it generated two different session id's and both of them continue to work for previewing my drops.
Final Fantasy Dimensions, a mobile game for iOS and Android, currently half price due to holidays. First time playing, around 20% of the game done, 100% recommended
App I used to record: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hecorat.screenrecorder.free
This to edit (I typed in "video gif converter" and it was the first result): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kayak.studio.videotogif
Check to see if you can update this app. If yes, do so. If not, uninstall updates and see if that fixes it. If it does fix it, check to see if you can use the beta version.
I use Clean Master to help clear some RAM before starting the app. It does slightly improve its performance on my Google Nexus 7 though the ads are a little annoying.
Another option I did was to install Clean Master. It helps a lot in clearing the cache to ensure the game runs smoother
I've been using Retroarch on my phone, but sadly, the DS Emulator Core for it doesn't support touch screen emulation, so that's pretty much useless. It emulates everything else fairly well though. UI is atrocious though, like, 1994 ZSNES bad.
No worries! Even just linking your thread in the mastery surveys ensures that people will always be able to find it!
You can also use the Reddit Enhancement Suite browser add-on if you're not on mobile, it lets you make tables really easily!
Gist of it is.... No. However, there was a tech preview of Windows Phone 10 that would let advanced users install APKs onto their Windows phone. It's a controversial issue, because MS would like to bridge the app gap... But devs fear that no one will bother with native Windows apps... So it may or May not come out for public use.
If you just mean to farm lower level stuff for magia then there is a program called Auto Clicker that might be what you're looking for.

You need an emulator, that means downloading BlueStacks 5. Then you can get all of the files and instructions you need here. I can't tell you it is simple, but it's do-able and still works with 8.0.0
After Slitherpuff cleared Ultimate Adel with SB-less fraking Gau in his team, I can say theres no such thing as "viability" anymore. Of course not to mention those who clear Ultimates using Core only parties.

There's the .JSON for Cloud. The Link sprite sheet needs to have the same file name. Both files need to be copied to the dbbcache foldier in the FFRK cache. As-is, this file name is for Cloud, so it will replace his sprite if copied to the cache.
Change the number 07001 to match the character you want the Link sprite to replace. I.e. Tyro: 00001
For the menu sprites it's another story. The 300% size sprites need to be in separate files (there needs to be a dead one, too), and those files need to match the files for the character they're replacing. For Tyro those file names are:
https%3a%2f%2fffrk.denagames.com%2fdff%2fstatic%2flang%2fww%2fcompile%2fen%2fimage%2fbuddy%2f10000200%2f10000200
^This sprite would be a 300% size idle sprite.
https%3a%2f%2fffrk.denagames.com%2fdff%2fstatic%2flang%2fww%2fcompile%2fen%2fimage%2fbuddy%2f10000200%2fbase_dead
https%3a%2f%2fffrk.denagames.com%2fdff%2fstatic%2flang%2fww%2fcompile%2fen%2fimage%2fbuddy%2f10000200%2fbase_fatal
https%3a%2f%2fffrk.denagames.com%2fdff%2fstatic%2flang%2fww%2fcompile%2fen%2fimage%2fbuddy%2f10000200%2fbase_idle
For some reason the ID numbers on these are different from Tyro's sprite sheet, but this only applies to Tyro's sprites. The other characters' files all match their base sprite sheet ID (i.e. Cloud 07001).
According to this broken-English forum post, Ax86 does indeed have ARM translation since at least version 4.0.
I've only tried the latest Ax86 iso, which is an image of 7.1.2 Nougat, and I know even people on their real phones are having trouble with FFRK on newer Android since the latest update, so I guess the first thing is to try all the Ax86 images and see if any of them will launch FFRK whatsoever.
(Genymotion is paid and I'm a poor man, sadly. I'm actually gonna try MEmu and Nox under Wine. I doubt they'll work, and they'd probably be choppy even if they did, but still. Worth a shot.)
EDIT: Here's a much better Ax86 ARM translator source.
Go into Realm Dungeons and select Final Fantasy IV (you have to view by door icons at the top and not the tree).
Select "Fabul Castle" which is the 5th dungeon.
You will be repeating the 1st battle and 2nd battle as many times as possible, it isn't necessary to complete the entire dungeon. You will randomly fight 1 or 2 enemies per round and always get 1 magia per round.
I use a program called Auto Clicker - Automatic Tap. It's free with ads and I think you can pay $2 to shut off the ads. You need to set up spots to click, I used three spots set to click 300 milliseconds apart. One must be placed below the attack icon in the lower left during battle. The second must be placed on the left side of the "Next" button when combat ends. The third is placed on the far left side of the "Begin Battle" button right before a fight begins. When you run the program it will just automatically tap your screen in all three places forever... in theory. The biggest problem is that either FFRK will crash or the program will crash so you kind of have to babysit it. I think I would have to restart the process anywhere from 2 - 5 times per day, but it beats clicking it yourself.
This method is incredibly fast compared to any other alternative. Depending on stamina potions you can get a team from 0 to 500 in a week. The next best alternative is to take an auto battle team to lower level cardia dungeons, but I never bothered to try it since Fabul doesn't require you to use soul breaks and every enemy dies in one auto attack hit.
You could try emulating the PSP version on your phone or PC, it's really a light game. The emulator is called PPSSPP, and it's available for basically every platform.
I'm partial to the PSP version because it has sharp graphics (at least in comparison to SNES/GBA), and I despise the chibi style of the DS versions of FF3/4/TaY: I understand it was because of the target hardware and budget, but it really doesn't fit with the tone of the game.
pcsx2 is ridiculously easy to set up.
even their quick-start documentation has been greatly improved since 2010.
basically just set it and forget it. there are a few games youll need to tinker with the settings for, but those youll spot quickly. and if you google '<game> pcsx2 config', youll get 5-10 results easily giving the best results on various rigs most likely.
Downloading QooApp would let you get the JP version of the game.
They should unlock (this icon on the home screen) from completing Book of Trials I
if you download the app directly here, you can play it now.
https://apkpure.com/final-fantasy-brave-exvius/com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFBEWW
Ive been playing it for a week now, both on my phone, and on PC. using a linked facebook account
It's funny, I clicked on support link on their web site after trying to submit a request and this is what I get "No help desk at support.denagames.com/ There is no help desk configured at this address. This means that the address is available and that you can claim it at http://www.zendesk.com/signup/". Not sure what it means though.
I remember ages ago I had downloaded this little app called Progress Quest. It's an Idle RPG. I'd kind of like someone to make one of those using the art assets. Just pick your party and then have them auto-battle endless waves of creeps. I know it's a pretty frivolous use, but it'd make a nice screensaver.
Awesome. Next up would just be downloading the latest BlueStacks version. The link that TheKurosawa had is the right one for their download page but not really necessary.
They recently re-worked the primary installer to detect the best version to install and it will just do it all for you. After that I recommend playing around with the settings from one of the threads I linked originally (it will probably help it run a little smoother).
I'll be that guy... you know in windows there's a 'snipping tool' (search for snip in the start menu)to allow you to capture a portion of the screen, and mac has a key combo of command+shift+4 that does the same, and puts a file on the desktop.
Just trying to save you some time.

If you're using windows XP, just hit the print screen button on the keyboard, then open mspaint and paste. You can then highlight using the rectangle selection tool to select the area you want, copy, new file, paste. If your keyboard doesn't have a print screen button.... something something get off my lawn!
If you're streaming just the screen from your iOS device and have a Mac, you can attach the device to the Mac via USB, open Quicktime, and have Quicktime capture the device's screen by doing File > New Movie Recording > then in the playback toolbar thing, change input to the device window.
If you don't have a Mac, or want to capture the game's audio too, Airserver or Reflector is probably the best way to go, short of using a capture card. I personally use Airserver for streaming FFRK and it works fine.
Here was a video of a run posted last night

You can get away with R3 retaliate on everyone if you use a hastega. Retaliate blocks all damage except for the twister when it's in the air. The only tricky part is timing out when to hold Gilgamesh's jump for when the boss is about to go airborne. As long as you don't get too many counters off of your spellblade's attack you won't need to heal.
Actually, many people don't notice. It's an automatic habit. Shellga, protectga, break, break, wall, lifesiphon, SB, repeat... Just going about your business without thinking.
As for the gem buying, a major meditation aspect teaches forgiveness. This is not saying "it's ok to buy gems", but rather "I understand". The idea being to lift the weight off your shoulders, and remove the constant nagging source of stress. That stress being a cause of the gem buying, breaking the cycle.
"clearing your mind" is a common misconception, probably due to movies and stuff. Meditation fails at that because it's not the point. Meditation is to practice focus. Western meditation just takes a different form. Going to church and listening to the pastor, choir singing. Exercise/sports/yoga is a movement based meditation. Some researchers think that the rise in ADHD is due to a decline in these focus practices.

A better (still not perfect) explaination is the Chinese expression, "taming the monkey mind". You got a bunch of monkeys typing monkey shakespeare in your brain. And when you notice that, you have several choices for your meditaition. You can try shooing them away, but they'll come back, they always come back. You can read what they're typing. Ultimately, you'll get them to type your book reports.
This is the book that introduced me to meditation. Funny story, I got it by accident thinking it was something else.

Anyways, that's about all I know. I don't want to lead you down the wrong path.
Far more people know "BM" as something other than "Black Mage" since it's been that way in the English language long before the concept of black mages. http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/bm
Next time you see your doctor tell him how you got bulky BM with green hair. That should make for some interesting comments in your medical record.
For Andy, you can just follow the normal android instructions. Just long-click on the fake WiFi network it uses. I imagine genymotion is much the same.
Bluestacks, meanwhile, is just not setup to play well with proxies and needs a program (Proxycap) that injects proxy code deep in your networking stack.
Have you ever used a proxy ever on any dungeon? Even if it was just a inventory drop tracker? I also wonder if proxy adblockers such as adguard are being detected as cheats.
I was having trouble getting this app to work even though I got it to work in the past. Then I realized that I recently installed Adguard. After I disabled Adguard then FFRKompanion worked again. If anyone else is having problems make sure you disable any adblocking apps you may be running.
Genymotion has free edition, you can get it here. First month you will have full trial and after that generic free version with some features disabled (like, video recording).
The proxy runs on your own computer and generates a new certificate on first install. So as long as you trust your own computer this isn't a real issue. See https://mitmproxy.org/doc/ssl.html for details.
> I found this for Memu: https://www.memuplay.com/blog/how-to-setup-network.html
Yeah I found that too, but it was also written 4 years ago and seems a bit out of date; when I try to do that now it mentions only browsers can use the proxy...
So I downloaded an app they recommended, ProxyDroid, only to realize I'd need to set up my computer as a proxy server(?). When I tried googling that I mostly found either paid services or how to connect my computer to a proxy rather than use it as one.
This is about the point I gave up as I thought it would be something a bit simpler, like putting in my IP address on an app or something.
I don't know about Memu specifically, I had tried it briefly in the past but settled on Bluestacks. Bluestacks actually can't go through a proxy though, so I have RKSquared setup on an older version of KOPlayer (which bugs for an upgrade but I bypass it by starting the instance from the multi-manager instead). So Bluestacks is my main, and I use KOPlayer whenever I want to do a fresh export. Unfortunately I do not think that older version of KOPlayer is on the website for download anymore.
I found this for Memu: https://www.memuplay.com/blog/how-to-setup-network.html
But again, I don't have it installed right now so I can't confirm this works. Once you setup RKSquared as the proxy for an emulator, RKSquared will need to be running to play the game. So that's another advantage of having a secondary emulator to use it with.
It is a bit to go through to find the right emulators for you (either to play, export, or both), before I settled on Bluestacks (w/ KOPlayer as the secondary) I had installed quite a few (Memu, Nox, etc) to find the best one for me. However the ease of access to the info once you do set it up and export the data is worth it to me. Having an easy access to all soul breaks and legend materia, and being able to filter and search it makes planning a lot easier:
Just go download "Nox android emulator" from here.
Then once you have it installed there are two routes you need to go.
(Full disclosure I only use android).
If you are IOS you first need to link your game to your Facebook account, then once you launch Nox create/sign in to your google account (clicking the play store button invokes this) and then go download FFRK. Once there go to manage account and sign in via your FB, this will pull your account info down and then you are good to go.
If you are using android just sign in and you are good to go.
The "record" feature exists within Nox itself, so you can just start recording, and do your clicks/wait for the fight to end and then you can loop it.
Once you get that far if you want to reach out for help I am always around. You can PM me on reddit.
Depends on whether you're emulating Droid or iOS. I'm going to assume Droid as that's the most common (and the OS I'm familiar with; someone feel free to add/correct if iOS needs something different).
There's no true consensus on the "best" emulator (many vets will argue the merits of one versus another), but I personally prefer Nox over the few others I've experimented with (BlueStacks, Droid4X, etc.). I use Nox on PC, but there appears to be a Mac version as well.
You should be able to simply log in to your Google account to automatically retrieve your account data (probably slightly different on iOS), but you will have to manually search for FFRK in the Play Store.
When using FT Helper is it supposed to use up your mobile data? I've been using it for Labyrinths and it requires a proxy for my wifi and won't work when I'm away from home so I really don't understand why it won't work unless my mobile data is turned on.
You need a PC or Mac to run the proxy made by RK^2, and you can connect to the proxy with an Android phone or Emulator. If you want on phone peeking, look up FT Helper https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ffrktoolkit.ffrktoolkithelper
Is the developer for FT Helper in this sub? Since more of us will be using a drop tracker I'm wondering if they would like some help contributing.
One thing I'd like to have under consideration is tracking relic draw results, as we always have a tough time as a community determining actual algorithms due to limited data, selection bias and the like. I'm a developer by day so I might be able to contribute some.
Yes, it works on emulators (assuming you can configured the proxy settings, so pretty sure BlueStacks won't work). Here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ffrktoolkit.ffrktoolkithelper
I had to change the app name and icon awhile back because the app was flagged for copyright infringement >_<.
That's strange. I just tested it in https://www.amazon.ca/Mythology-Fantasy-Miguel-Carvalho-Abrantes-ebook/dp/B08Y7WBL9Y/ , and it's showing up there as available. I made it available everywhere, every country of the world...
Just wanted to put this here for newer Android users....FT Helper runs on your device and is now set to let us preview labyrinth chests.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.autoclicker.clicker
I'm on Android. I believe iphones have their own thing on their phone built in already. Not sure how reliable it is.
This app sometimes crashes itself on me but it's quick to reload and restart for me. But it works and does what I need it to do.
Could be, I think China has it's own non-connected database for instance. If you're region locked you may need to do a vpn (may want to check out ProtonVPN, it's the only free VPN I would trust), also may want to maybe not use the NA website I linked and google whatever website comes up for your own region (that could be a thing, dunno if it is).
