I already talked to TaiG about this awkward kernel patch days ago, and have this on my schedule of things to fix "next" (after the thing I'm working on fixing right now). FWIW, I did not realize their patch was this bad (I mean, dude: that's pretty bad...), but I'm still not terribly concerned (as an example: i0n1c says "don't install tweaks from random people in the next few days", but those already by definition have privileged access, so you should already be careful installing them). (This setuid bug is the "proactive fix" that I talked about in the Cydia 1.1.18 changelog.)
You can use Anywhere!--虚拟定位 by onTheRoadStudio to trick your iPhone into thinking it's an iPad. This enables the unrestricted playback that's usually exclusive to tablets and PCs.
I'm not sure if it is touched on Freakonomics, I haven't read that book. But I believe it is actually told in The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. It's about how they tracked the spending habit of the said person and found a change in spending habits that they believe is a spending habit of a pregnant lady.
I have just pushed Cydia 1.1.26, which modifies this logic slightly in an attempt to reduce issues people might have with the update, as some people here are saying they are having issues with icons disappearing :/.
So now instead of downloading it directly from the developer, people will be downloading it from third party rehosts or torrent sites.

iExplorer Release Notes
Version 3.7.1.0 Released April 13, 2015 Fixes an issue that prevented photo albums from loading on devices with iOS 8.3
Version 3.7.0.0 Released April 9, 2015 iOS 8.3 Compatibility Fixes an issue that could cause iExplorer to become unresponsive when loading previews for very large files
iExplorer seems to already be updated to work with 8.3. That was fast.
EDIT: Just noticed that /u/lap86 beat me to it, go give your sweet delicious karma to him instead!
The Cydia package page (in Cydia) gives a more detailed explanation. You can look at it in Cydia or check it out here, and I'll quote it too:
> Changes in Cydia 1.1.19: Cydia Substrate Compatibility
> Cydia now runs as "mobile" instead of "root". This means that Cydia Substrate extensions (tweaks) can now modify Cydia, just like those tweaks modify other apps and iOS.
> How this will affect you: After you install this upgrade, you may be surprised to see that your installed tweaks are modifying Cydia. For example, if you have a tweak installed that improves how the keyboard works in all apps, it will now improve keyboards in Cydia as well.
> Tweaks may have problems: Some tweaks may have bugs in how they affect Cydia, such as applying an odd color to a piece of text, because their developers have not been able to test this before. Please be patient and give developers time to update their tweaks — you can often follow them on Twitter for news and updates. You can temporarily uninstall a tweak if it is causing problems for you.
> What if something goes wrong? If you install a tweak that causes Cydia to be unusable, you can fix it by booting your device with Cydia Substrate disabled (which also disables all tweaks). To do this: turn off your device, and turn it on while pressing the volume up button until it finishes booting. Then open Cydia, uninstall the buggy tweak, and reboot again to go back into normal mode.

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the brand new 'iOS 7 LockScreen Weather' designed to work seamlessly with your iOS 7 LockScreen.
This lockscreen utilises /u/saurik 's Cydget tweak.
Simply add your location ID and the weather is displayed on your lockscreen. You'll also be able to view your lockscreen wallpaper without making any modifications.
We have worked hard to bring you this tweak and have already received numerous compliments, screenshots and praise.
Why not head over to Cydia (hosted on the ZodTTD & MacCiti Repo) right now to download our 'iOS 7 LockScreen Weather' tweak: http://cydia.saurik.com/package/com.macciti.ios7lockscreenweather/
Update: from /u/yourofl10 - 'iOS 7 LockScreen Weather' on iOS 6 - How To Guide.
I appreciate your enthusiasm and thought that went into this presentation. ;)
Fun fact is this was part of the original concept (before it became a tweak) as I'm a big fan of single-input interactions (as you may've guessed by auxo 2's quick switcher). We never really spent time on implementing such a thing as it proved to provide a minimal speed advantage once we got the flicking of stacks to be as responsive and quick as they are (you lose the awesome feeling of opening a stack dynamically, and replace it with a pre-canned stack opening animation instead). It's certainly something we can pursue in the future, post-iOS 8 jailbreak (as well as more app-slot options).
For more information on the background of this subject, as well as stories told of the hearings, I recommend this talk I gave at AltConf.
https://realm.io/news/altconf-jay-freeman-dmca-digital-millennium-copyright-act/
He posted the release post for his tweak Griddy, which was functional on its own but plagued with severe incompatibility issues with a startling number of very common tweaks (Auxo, Tage, Seng, No SlowAnimations, etc) which he had previously stated would be compatible. Becuase of this, everybody got very, very angry, becuase they paid for a highly-compatible tweak and did not receive a highly-compatible tweak.
There were a few nice comments in the thread, like "no issues here gg" or "yeah it sucks but the initial release always sucks he'll fix it eventually and the world will be good again" (not direct quotes but you get the idea) but the vast majority of the comments were saying "this tweak doesn't WORK" "I'LL NEVER BUY A TWEAKWIZ TWEAK AGAIN" "@Dev you're LITERALLY HITLER" (also not direct quotes, I'm going for gist here).
A little after the initial chaos, a few more well-known devs also gave their two cents, posting screen recordings of the tweak bugging out. They were more constructive than the first wave of commenters, but I think at this point, TweakWiz was just 101% fed up with everybody being so critical of a tweak release he had anticipated going smoothly, and he reacted poorly.
I don't remember exactly, since the actual thread's been deleted, but I believe he accused some of them/everyone of lying about the bugs or something (now that I type this it sounds really sketch so if somebody could please correct me so I can edit my post, that would be fantastic) and overall just reacted very poorly to the situation.
At this point, he's cooled down enough to issue a public apology (parent post) and from this point on, I believe that he'll be more receptive to criticism, and will try and remedy the issues that Griddy has.
From OpenJailbreak 23-24 SEP 2013 Class 1:
>[12:17 AM] <posixninja> ok, but first people need to learn more about how to find vulnerabilities and how to tell if they're exploitable
>[12:18 AM] <posixninja> so step 1 is, how do we find new vulnerabilities...
>[12:19 AM] <posixninja> typically we use fuzzers to find new vulnerabilities
>[12:19 AM] <posixninja> what is a fuzzer you ask? well it's just a program that sends random data to whatever program you're trying to exploit
>[12:25 AM] <posixninja> ok, fussers are very simple to create, it's just feeding a program in random data to see if it crashes or not
>[12:25 AM] <posixninja> typically programs expect a very simple and already expected form of data, and if you change that data it can lead some weird crashes and bugs in a program
>[12:26 AM] <posixninja> by crashing a program you know that it received some kind of data that it didn't expect and did something with that data that it should not have
>[12:27 AM] <posixninja> so vulnerabilities are just something that is told to the program to make that program do something that wasn't expected
Raise to wake! Finally. We had too many people complaining that Touch ID v2 was too fast and people couldn't read their notifications on the lock screen.

Did they just announce OneTapClear?

Copyright law is a complicated and messy thing that even lawyers and courts struggle with (I suggest reading the archives of this copyright newsletter if you're curious to get a taste!), and /r/jailbreak's rule #1 tries to draw a reasonable line out of that mess - interestingly, there's actually no simple binary here. I'm pretty busy today with moderating Snapchat discussions, but I'll try to explain...partly because I really enjoy thinking about the complications of copyright and trying to help explain them.
To address torrent clients: the torrent clients on the default repositories are neutral tools that have the exact same support for any kind of content, legitimate or illegitimate, and their marketing and features do not encourage use for piracy. It's legal for that kind of tool to exist. The default repositories allow them.
That's different from a standard app piracy tool, which is marketed for piracy and specifically supports pirated material. Sometimes people consider use for free apps to not be piracy, but that's still copyright infringement (since those apps are being redistributed without permission from the developers) and involves cracking DRM (since even free App Store apps have DRM), which is additionally prohibited by the DMCA.
Adblockers don't involve copyright infringement, and they seem to be probably legal and not considered fraud, which is why the default repositories allow them.
It's good to note that rule #1 isn't about revenue loss. There are tons of forms of revenue loss that nearly everyone considers legal, such as publishing a competing product, and copyright infringement of a free app often doesn't involve revenue loss. Rule #1 is about copyright and to some degree about related forms of fraud.
Edit: I updated the [long-form explanation of the rule](/r/jailbreak/wiki/faq) to include some of these details for clarity.
There are two questions here: a link flair system and CSS/styling. Yes, we'd like to implement a link flair system for /r/jailbreak, much like /r/iOSthemes, and we intend to do this when we have a chance to figure out the right system and how best to set up enforcement so flair gets assigned without moderators doing lots of manual work. (There are lots of options for this, we just have to weigh them and figure out the combination that will work best.)
For styling: when we've talked with lots of readers about various user-suggested CSS ideas, people disagreed really heavily on the kind of style that they wanted, and eventually we figured that this is inevitable with a community so interested in customizing things to their own preferences. We've been encouraging people to instead make stylesheets that people can list at /r/jailbreak/wiki/stylish and choose to apply using a browser extension.
Edit: here are pastes of the current CSS and current sidebar in case that helps anyone in experimenting with new theme styles.
Looks like this little box intercepts outbound communications and logs them against your device IP/UDID/it's own identifier.
This would explain how it can track what apps you use - if an app makes an outbound request, it will count to the log.
The only other way to do this would be to install software on your phone, which can be an app or profile. If there's any apps or profiles that belong to this Circle, delete them. If there's a password protected profile, comment back and I'll tell you how do delete it, as it's a bit involved.
TL:DR are there any apps or profiles that your parents have installed on your phone? And as far as bypassing the internet side tracking you can use a VPN. I recommend Betternet. And as far as destroying your JB, he'd need to restore the phone or bootloop it from the device itself. The Circle would have no way of unjailbreaking or bootlooping it, however if there was an app or profile installed it could detect if you were jailbroken. As I said, delete such apps/profiles belonging to the Circle if any are installed.
It was StatusTab actually. It's a fantastic tweak, I really hope it gets updated.
Edit: Sorry /u/SUNBUR57 didn't see your edit, didn't mean to correct you. Your tweak is exactly what OP is looking for. StatusTab instead replaces the tab with the entire status bar, particularly handy if you use OpenNotifier.
https://ghostbin.com/paste/wfgdt dyld bug
installd toctou: if in an ipa file Info.plist is a symlink pointing to /var/mobile/Media/something, you can bypass checks on CFBundleExecutables (akin to evasi0n). This allows you to run a binary anywhere in the FS. Combined with the bug above, this allows for sandbox escape.
edtoc = enabledylibstooverridecache.
For reference, this is a concept from /u/tmnlsthrn’s Dribbble page: https://dribbble.com/shots/1845749-TypeStatus-for-Apple-Watch
The notifications can show up on your watch if we send them from the phone just like any other notification, but the custom UI is tricky to pull off since it would require the watch to be jailbroken. I’m not sure that more than a few people have jailbroken their watch… it seems too risky since you can’t restore a watch yourself (not without buying an adapter for the watch’s hidden diagnostic port anyway).
This was a nice concept we really wanted to do, but couldn’t really see any way to pull off. I’d love to try it if this ever changes though! I left my old Series 1 on watchOS 4.1 always intending to jailbreak it, so I could play around with this idea someday.
Surprised no one mentioned anything about DONATE yet. Support support support!
Too be fair, you are comparing two year old device / technology to a new device. Also the Iphone 5 has a Battery Replacement Program that she could use/Need to improve the Battery Life. https://www.apple.com/support/iphone5-battery/
No disrespect, but I would recommend anyone interested in using Kodi on iOS install it from the stock repo, and then install the latest build directly from Kodi https://kodi.tv/download and install via Filza if jailbroken. If you're running stock, you can always side load Kodi using impactor. I used these methods with no issues but now I've sideloaded with Xcode using my dev account. Those with iX will want to use a nightly as the current public build doesn't have correct resolution support.
To use this, download Veency and Apple File Conduit "2" from BigBoss. Then go to the settings pane of Veency and set a password (optional, if you don't set one it will always ask you via a popup if you trust the connecting pc).
On your pc, install iFunBox and a vnc viewer (I use TightVNC) and connect your device via usb.
In iFunBox, go to the toolbox tab and choose USB Tunnel. It will show you an internal ip of your iDevice and a port for vnc.
Open up your vnc viewer and connect to said ip with the given port. If everything worked it will ask you for your password you set after installing Veency or show an alert on your iDevice. Type in your password or give permission and you shoud be able to see and interact with everything on your iDevice.
I hope I could help!
Why does the post have "Solved" flair? Really left me disappointed here.
This reminds me of the Samsung S View phone covers. That'd be pretty nifty on the iPhone.
Look into a HUD sticker.

For those who are having trouble getting a link to the profile, there is a very easy solution: Download and install iFunbox to your computer, plug in your device and make sure that it is unlocked, go to the "My Device" Tab and click on Stop OTA, your phone should automatically go to the install profile page. Hit install, done. Hope this helps.
I think this is the first time I’m posting something in r/jailbreak, but I thought I’d share my idea not only via Twitter to get some feedback. Idea is basically a smarter Priority Hub for iOS 10. Inspiration came from Eike Drescher. Let me know what you think, even if its maybe undoable.
EDIT: This is a Concept!
Don't use Tor on iOS, it is not even close to being equivalent to its desktop counterparts.
I also don't recommend using Windows or OS X if you're gonna be browsing marketplaces (what most people use Tor for), or anything else for that matter. TAILS is the way to go if you really care about your security and privacy.
Are you trying to jailbreak an IOS 7.x device?
If you are here's a guide I made.
You will need to use this modded version of evasi0n7.

You don't need to downgrade iTunes but if your on Windows you need to install this driver.

On a different discussion forum, Metafilter, there's the concept of "threadshitting" - the idea that posting dismissive, not-terribly-thoughtful comments early in a thread (especially comments that don't really respond to the article, such as if the person is responding to the general topic and hasn't fully read the specific article) can be really distracting and unhelpful, encouraging the rest of the thread to be similarly unconstructive.
We can do better than this - we can have a substantial and interesting discussion with thoughtful comments responding to the article. We do it on lots of other threads; we can do it here too. If you have a bone to pick with a specific part of the article, or if you want to support a specific part of the article, pull out a quote and write a thoughtful response with reasons - that will be much more interesting.
Hello!
It's now official, I'm now an Android developer :D
I developed a tweak some weeks ago to play to an instrument while typing on the iOS keyboard. This tweak is called MusicalKeyboard
I ported MusicalKeyboard to Android!
As the iOS version, you can play to 5 instruments (Bass, Drums, Guitar, Piano and Violin). Only the QWERTY and AZERTY keyboard are included for the moment.
Note: Yes, I'm now an Android developer. But as I said in my previous post, I'll still work on my tweaks :) (I'll not do new big tweaks anymore though)
You will need to download and install both Animate iOS 8 and iFile from Cydia. Once you do this, find a bootlogo or make your own. Making your own is a bit mroe complicated and time consuming, but it's worth it. Let me know if you want to know how to do that. Now that you have your custom bootlogo there are two things that you can do.
1. Download the bootlogo onto your phone and open it up with iFile. It will probably be in .zip format, so click on it and then choose Unarchiver. Now it will be in a folder. Tap Edit in the top right of iFile, select the folder that you just unzipped, and then click on the clipboard in the bottom right and choose either cut or copy, it doesn't really matter. Now, we're going to navigate to /Library/BootLogos/ and paste your folder there. Go to your settings and navigate to Animate iOS 8. From here you can select your bootlogo or preview it. Now you have a new bootlogo.
This next way will only work if you have a Mac or a virtal machine running OS X.
2. Download BootGif, iFunBox, and your bootlogo to your computer. Open up BootGif and click on Select Gif. Select the gif that you want to use and configure the settings to your liking. Convert it. Now open up iFunBox, copy/move/cut your folder that you just converted to a bootlogo and place it in /Library/BootLogos/. Go to your settings, open up Animate iOS8, and select your bootlogo.
There we go, I hope that this helped!
EDIT: Because so many people are asking for these gifs to be pre-made, I'll go ahead and do that and update with a zipped folder uploaded to dropbox.
EDIT 2: I only have a few of them. Computer has been acting funky and so I've been trying to fix it. You can download the first three on the page here.
Incorrect, the application sandbox stays active even with a jailbreak. Since some people are on a downvoting spree today, here is a link of saurik saying just that instead:
> It means that you have changed your ssh password since the last time you used ssh on that computer.
... no it doesn't. SSH is an encrypted channel (you might even call it a Secure Shell). As in all SSL/TLS connections there is a handshake to exchange the keys for the communication and establish some small level of trust. This message is telling OP that the public key presented by the SSH server running on the device he is trying to connect to is different from the last public key that was presented from that same IP.
also, this is a really bad solution. You don't want to delete the entire file of known devices. It's better to just remove a single line for the IP of your device. Open the file with vim
> vim ~/.ssh/known_hosts
search for the IP by typing /<IP Address>
e.g. /10.0.1.2
(you may need to specify a port here if you use a port other than the default of 22. e.g. /10.0.1.2:2222
delete the entire line by hitting d key twice
exit vim by typing :x
.
or you can use another text editor if you don't like vim. edit
will open the default editor on your computer. Find the line, delete it, save, and close the file
> edit ~/.ssh/known_hosts
if you do not know this, you'd better be careful SSHing to your device, especially as root. It is very easy to mess stuff up if you don't know what you're doing
To anyone having the "Run as administrator" problem, I was able to resolve it on a domain joined computer by running the app as system. To do this, start a cmd.exe as system:
Run:
PSEXEC -i -s -d CMD
In the new command prompt, right click and paste the path to the evasi0n.exe and press enter, it should open up.
Almpoum is pretty popular.
Snapper 2 is an upcoming update to Snapper that can also achieve the same. You can draw a selection on the screen to only take a cropped screenshot and then either let it float around on the screen (it's movable and resizable) or copy, save, close, or share it (the resizing and sharing may be version 2.0 only). The options also work for a native screenshot without cropping (this is in 2.0).
Direct link to the package in Cydia for those who don't want to watch the trailer- http://cydia.saurik.com/package/com.brokenphysics.issb This tweak was made by the guys over at Broken Physics Studios, check them out here!
The most helpful thing to do regarding fake apps is to make sure the developers of the real packages know about the fakes (by emailing them, etc.), since the real developers can file copyright/trademark complaints with Apple.
Then just ignore the fakes and let the developer and Apple handle it.
Edit: It can be helpful to include that link to Apple's website in your email, since not all developers know they can report things like this. Also, Apple probably doesn't care if the real copyrighted/trademarked work runs on jailbroken devices - their job in this case is to take care of copyright/trademark complaints, unrelated to whatever platform the real thing runs on.
I made one. I've used it for this exact purpose probably a hundred times already.
I keep the activator action as a short hold on one of the volume buttons. That way it is always available and it is subtle enough that no one will ever notice what you did.
Thank you.
The instructions are shown on the Cydia page:
Simply connect your device and navigate to the following folder: System -> Library -> LockCydgets -> iOS 7 LockScreen Weather.cydget -> script
Within this folder there is a file called 'config.js'. Open this file with your favourite text editor and follow the very simple instructions within. This is how you set your location to display the correct weather.
> ##Message Deletion and Retention > > Snapchat captures what it’s like to live in the moment. So in many cases the messages sent through our services are automatically deleted from our servers once we detect that they have been viewed or have expired. And again in most cases, the services are programmed to delete a message from the recipient’s device once it’s been viewed or expired as well. > > > There are some exceptions though to this rule. Some of our services, such as My Story, Replay, and Live, allow users to interact with the messages and content you provide through the services for a longer period of time. That means those messages and content may be available on our servers and a recipient’s device after they’ve been viewed or expired. For example, if you add a Snap to My Story, other users will be able to view it for roughly 24 hours. And because Snaps submitted to Live and other crowd-sourced Stories are inherently public and chronicle matters of public interest, we may save them indefinitely and allow them to be viewed again through any of our services or third-party sources.

If they repair the glass they will update the phone so they can test all its functions they ask you to wipe the device first or at the store with iCloud which you can't do with a jailbreak.
You will have to restore and update the phone you have no choice.
https://www.apple.com/support/iphone/repair/screen-damage/
The last line says to backup first the reason for this is the device will be wiped by them if you don't.
*congrats op that is awesome to hear the tech you got was a good person cuz they would know it was jb'd but they were cool about it.
You can use Activator to do this :)
To enable Low Power when your device locks:
• Anywhere --> Device: Locked --> Switches (Activate): Low Power
To disable Low Power when your device locks:
• Anywhere --> Device: Unlocked --> Switches (Deactivate): Low Power
Slices is a tweak that lets people have multiple accounts on apps that don't allow it.
This is useful for when you want to restart a game or play the game again but with hacks/cheats but don't wan to get rid of your first save.
There's a great post by saurik on the changes to security that jailbreaks make. One of the lesser know but most serious threats to security is a kernel patch which allows memory pages to be marked as writable and executable. Saurik talks about it in that link. The patch is necessary for the proper functioning of Substrate though (you can't modify C functions without it), so it's something we have to live with.
The article is wrong. The quote used in the article does not back up their statement in any way.
This official PDF explains how iOS security concept actually works. To sum it up briefly:
The PIN code is therefore needed after booting so that the initial decrypted version of the user-data key can be calculated, else there would be nothing to send to Secure Enclave.
Source: The linked PDF, page 7, "Touch ID and passcodes" and page 8, "How Touch ID unlocks an iOS device".
I've used Phantom forever and haven't seen anything like this. Judging by this stackoverflow it looks like applewebdata:// is used by UIWebViews.
If it's Snapchat exclusive I can only presume either Snapchat or Phantom is trying to display something via the web view. Ads, perhaps? I'd presume we'd have more widespread reports if ads were causing this though, especially if they were tapping location data.
Is this popup appearing anywhere else in your iOS?
Very odd.
TcpDump
It's a commandline/console package, login as root via SSH and use it
http://www.tcpdump.org/tcpdump_man.html
Or you can try using BurpSuite proxy, you'll need to start the proxy on your computer, then point your phone to it in the wifi settings.
Each has their pros/cons.
tcpdump is low-level and captures EVERYTHING.
Burp sits in the middle and can sniff out HTTPS, but apps/sites that double check certificates will be able to detect this.
Burp will let you set up rules to intercept certain packets; but it's all done live. Where tcpdump will let you capture/save the packets so you can go back and look through them all.
I usually use tcpdump first, then I'll turn on burp and setup rules to intercept only the packets I want.
I think that the doom and gloom is has been common after the iPhone 4. I think there is always a period where it seems hopeless, but at least to me the devs have seemed pretty straight forward.
Just FYI, CarPlay has 2 gen versions. The first gen is USB only and the second gen is the wireless one (via wifi). My car has a CarPlay first gen unit, but I bought this on Amazon to convert it to wireless only. Best hardware purchase I’ve made for my car or phone. Just make sure you visit their website to check if it’ll work with your vehicle

Just get one of these for $45.
It supports most ios games and all emulators i've tried so far: GBA4IOS, PPSSPP, NDS4IOS, Happy chick.
Got mine for $30 on prime day. Its real easy to use with no hassles. Just turn it on and play after connecting to blue tooth. No jailbreak needed
Opening PDFs in other apps is stock. You have to access it from the "Open in…" button, but it's pretty straightforward these days.
Not sure about the App Drawer, but I'm sure plenty of folks on here have some good solutions.
Browser Changer can be used both for defaulting to Google Chrome and to default to Google Maps.
Gestures can be set up using Activator.
The main feature of the 6s is Force Touch. If you find that worthwhile, go ahead with it. Keep in mind though that there are jailbreak tweaks that attempt (with decent success) to simulate these actions on older devices.
Looks an awful lot like the nintype font.
EDIT: Confirmed. /u/almostdeadmau5 posted the page. Font is named Quicksand.
It is also on Cydia http://cydia.saurik.com/package/com.bytafont2.quicksand/
Open in App for Photos [FREE] will add apps to the share menu in Photos, but YMMV with this tweak. There are no options to configure so you can choose which apps appear in the sharing menu. In another thread I talked about this tweak with another user, we both had the same tweak and both had Instagram installed, Instagram was showing up in his shared menu with this tweak, but out of the 20+ apps in my share menu Instagram was not one of them. I had a similar situation with another user and a different app as well. So it seems to randomly pick which ones to show on the list, as far as I can tell.
Readr [$2] which was mentioned in this thread, will add services (e.g. Pocket, Instapaper, Evernote, etc.) to the share menu in certain apps. Considering you want to have Imgur then I don't think this is what you're looking for, great tweak nonetheless though.
I have fixed the lockscreen issue and a couple of other issues reported and also mentioned here ( https://ghostbin.com/paste/x88mu ) . I have submitted the update to BigBoss and it should be live soon. Thank you all for your feedback.

Here's the source for the 42% part:
> Umeng, the biggest Chinese mobile app analytics company, says it is detecting that only 42.4 percent of mainland iOS devices are jailbroken, down from 51 percent in the second quarter of 2011. Yes, that figure still sounds like an unbelievable share, but this is China. Umeng says jailbreaking is down because Apple started allowing consumers to use local bank cards over the last year in the app store.
But that article also says there are 60 million iOS devices total in China, not 60 million jailbroken devices. That would make 25 million jailbroken devices.
In May last year, saurik said "in the last year alone, 54 million unique Apple devices have downloaded his store." So, the question would be whether China has half of the world's jailbroken devices. Could be!

I have had this tweak since it was released. It is great! Must have. Runs smoothly, NEVER had a problem. I never see any lag from it.
I use it before a movie starts, so that in emergency, if I need to take my phone out, it is super dark.
Great for late night. Works FINE by F.lux (please install if you have not, newbie). Great tweak, great experience, great programmer, great update
> Have you ever switched between two apps, maybe you took a picture of a WIFI password that you need to enter. With Snapper this is made super easy! All you do is: open snapper (with an activator action) and select the area you want to keep on-screen, that’s it! The area will stay on you screen until you decide to take it away.
>> You can also save and/or copy the “snaps”.
For the uninitiated:
>SpotLock allows you to lock your iDevice by swiping to the Spotlight search page. Unfortunately, this will remove the ability to use Spotlight search. That isn’t a major loss for me, but if you use it often, this tweak isn’t for you.
Happened to me a few weeks ago after installing some kind of Wallpaper Pack from some shitty source, and it made WhatsApp crash over and over.
Anyway, I deleted this "unflod" manually, with iFunbox (for PC).
Download the software, connect your iPhone and go to this folder:
From there, delete the "unflod" file.
And that's it.
Tell me if it helped. Goodluck.
>A charge cycle means using all of the battery’s power, but that doesn't necessarily mean a single charge. For instance, you could listen to your iPod for a few hours one day, using half its power, and then recharge it fully. If you did the same thing the next day, it would count as one charge cycle, not two, so you may take several days to complete a cycle.
It would be great to have it, but the secure connection won't make a difference in your ISP being able to monitor your browsing history. The ISP is not looking at the content of what is being transferred, which is what https protects against.
Instead, your ISP generally will collect your browsing history by DNS requests as well as GET requests. If you want to protect yourself, change your DNS servers on your modem, router (if applicable) as well as each of your devices directly from your ISP's DNS servers to either Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or any other open DNS server of your choice.
Aside from DNS servers, you still should protect yourself with a VPN. Using free VPNs are okay, but not ideal. They may be laggy, unreliable, and may even spy on your web traffic. I would personally recommend purchasing a yearly subscription from Private Internet Access; it's inexpensive for the quality of service they provide, and all-around a fantastic service if you truly want to protect yourself from your ISP, your government, or any other person on your network from spying on your web content and habits.
If he won't crawl into your phone, you can use VPN to hide your whole internet usage. It makes an encrypted tunnel so nobody can see what are you doing, I'm using TunnelBear, you've got 1,5 GB for free per month.
Managed to grab it before I hit the hay.
Good luck fellow jail breakers. Only and final transmission.
Peace

Edit: @below thank you for verifying it @rest Glad I could help
I know it's not exactly you're looking for, but CCMeters by Sticktron puts this information in the Control Center. It probably saves battery to have this implementation anyway. It's worth considering if you haven't already.
Would you be able to re-implement FullKarma? The redesign to Alien Blue broke it.
If you have 1558 karma, AB rounds up to 1.6 annoyingly.
Hi,
I have just published "Calendar for Lockscreen" tweak, which allows you to see your current and upcoming calendar events on your lockscreen. You can see more screenshots here, and see the details and get the tweak here.
~~First 5 readers who send me their Cydia ID in a private message, and then reply here, will get a free copy :) (you can see your Cydia ID on the bottom of your profile page there when you log in, it should look like "Cydia Account #1234567").~~ EDIT: free copies sent to the fastest 5 readers :)
Here's a link for those who haven't heard of it.
It allows you to require fingerprint reading for access to specific apps (which you choose). Only compatible with the 5S. Dev is Ryan Petrich
This concept makes more sense once you know it is for a mobile site, not a lockscreen (https://dribbble.com/shots/1746065-Floating-burger-2-0).
The inverse works at Apple.com though – it was 9:41 am, now 10:09!
Create your own profile via the Apple configurator, then use the native DNS function in iOS14 - all ads gone everywhere (well, everywhere I've needed them to be gone).
Here are my edits in action. But please be aware that the framerate of the video is half of what is actually shown on your phone.

Replace the devs CSS file with this one. Also if it doesnt work blame me not the dev.
Or for added security, store passwords in a text file...
On an encrypted flash drive. I have literally dozens of 512MB-2GB sticks that are all used as password storage. They just look unformatted until you decrypt them so even if found they won't be suspected as a vault for your ^most ^secret ^secrets. Just remember to update them every now and then with new accounts, changed info, etc. I have 1Password for every day usage and the drives on the off chance my phone is stolen, run over, microwaved for science, or whatever.
Edit: If anyone wants I can probably make a simple tutorial later if/when I'm not busy.
Edit2: Alright, seems like people want a tutorial. I should have time to write it up sometime tomorrow, probably evening/night. I just need a place to post it so send suggestions. Will probably have pictures in addition to the text write up. Worst case I throw it all in a zip and put it on a file host.
Edit3: Here it is https://ghostbin.com/paste/83zfj Let me know if it causes you problems like setting your keyboard on fire or whatever so I can fix it up.
I just typed this up for you, and whoever else wants it:
1) Open Activator, select Anywhere, and tap Edit.
2) Select Recieved Message. In the message field type "NIGHTMODE.ON" Save it.
3) Create another Recieved Message and in the message field type "NIGHTMODE.OFF" Save it.
4) Tap on Done.
5) Scroll down and select to the newly created 'NIGHTMODE.ON in Messages' action. Assign its action to be 'Nightmode Activate' switch (located under the Switches (Activate) category.)
6) Next, select to the newly created 'NIGHTMODE.OFF in Messages' action. Assign its action to be 'Nightmode Deactivate' switch (located under the Switches (Deactivate) category.)
Included in the sunrise/sunset text messages will be the low/high temperatures for the day.
:)

I'm working on it. If anyone on 12.2 has a Mac, please try this guide: http://osxdaily.com/2018/07/12/how-view-ios-logs-on-mac/ and reproduce the crash. Then see if you can find the "terminating" exception by searching the logs for "terminating". If you find it please send it to me.
Just install virtual box and then iTunes for windows. All free, need like edit: 15GB of space but you can uninstall after you are done.
I did it last night and does not take long at all.
Yep... I use Browser Changer : http://cydia.saurik.com/package/jp.tom-go.openopera/
Only thing it doesn't do is change the name.. so an app that says "open in safari" will open in Chrome. There used to be another tweak that would also change that.
What if you try using the newest version of redsn0w, 0.9.15b3? You can get it from the iPhone Dev Team's official blog - scroll to the end of this blog post.
Try booting in no-substrate mode (hold vol+ while booting up) to see if its jailbreak related.. (though prolly' is)
Go to /var/mobile/Library/Caches. Delete 'com.apple.LaunchServices-xxx.csstore' and Reboot.
Also give Respring+ from Cydia a go.
Edit: Also if nothing seems to do it, check if you have AppSync installed and reinstall / reboot device.
Lance Fetter's updated CrashReporter has a much-improved UI, as well as iPad screen support, and numerous other improvements over the old version. Now that it has been updated, this is a must-have tweak in every user's troubleshooting toolbox.
As a reminder, don't forget to install <strong>syslogd to /var/log/syslog</strong> from Cydia in order for CrashReporter to function properly.
Edit: link to syslogd
Yay! Check out this part of the changelog:
> Cydia now will fetch package lists from more repositories in parallel on newer devices capable of handling the load.
:D
He can't make changes to Cydia without an update you install. This change was a change to the website that Cydia loads on startup (the home page that can be seen in the screenshot), http://cydia.saurik.com.
Kodi is a Media Center app that supports add-ons
Kodi itself doesn't provide the add-ons for free movies, those are made by third party developers and not supported by Team Kodi (or even on the official Kodi forum)
You are correct though in that Kodi with those third party add-ons can get free movies...
The simple fact that people keep associating Kodi with "free cable" or the like is really hurting it though...
TL;DR: I ported over the Circle LBI theme to the newest Alkaline version. Did not create the original, just ported it over. Link below.
I will come out and make it clear that I did not create LBI, nor did I create either of the Alkaline themes that mirror LBI. Currently, the options I've found were the default alkaline theme, the LBI Hollowed Battery theme (updated shortly after Alkaline), or to wait for more. I couldn't wait, so I decided to port the Circle LBI theme over to the new Alkaline. It has red for <20% for both charging and non-charging; I didn't do another color as I just wanted to finish it lol. I have not yet seen whether or not the color works (phone is at 42% damn it!) but the theme is working for normal black/white switches above 20%. I uploaded it here: https://www.mediafire.com/?py4u70pin2khu7s and again, I will stress that I did not create this theme, I just ported it over because I wanted to use it. Hopefully I can help a few of you who also like the theme! The file is zipped and includes the folder that you place in /Library/Alkaline (the theme folder). Thanks /u/magn2o for an awesome tweak and thank you to the developer of LBI and the creator of the LBI Alkaline themes!
This no longer works in > iOS 9 due to app slicing. The reason is that different version of each app are saved depending on your device, so no master copy can be saved into iTunes.
The funny thing is there is an android app that does this that just came out last week. I can't remember what it was called but it has "ninja" in the title. I looked to see if it was for ios as well but it wasn't. At least not yet.
Edit: I found it. It's called Ninja Snap
A good (or bad actually) example was this whole mess: https://isios7jailbrokenyet.com/ Great on paper, good for the developers, BAD execution.
They asked for an Open Source IOS 7 jailbreak... and part of why Apple is unable to patch Jailbreak exploits the moment they are released, is that it takes Apple a reasonable amount of time to research how the Jailbreak works, and patch their system/kernel against the attack(s). As you've probably noticed, there is no good way to disassemble jailbreaks and see how they work... the only way I know of requires IDA Pro (Hard to purchase even if you have $5000, they only sell to certain people), and then it would require a LOT of know how/time to interpret what it would output.
The best way to do what you are asking IMHO is to use a personal PayPal Donation Fund (Found here: https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/fundraising). It can be hosted by an Individual (say an r/jailbreak moderator), and then everyone will "donate" to the fund, the good thing about this as opposed to a thread based donation collection, is that the people who pay in, actually put real money in, as opposed to just saying "I'll throw in $5". Another thing that is worth noting, is that because it is a "donation", and considered charitable, you can write it off on your taxes, making it more worth a businesses while to contribute.
I have both used this type of fund to get a collectable bounty going, and have receive a few of these type of bounties (Usually for XDA related work/PoC Code for Vulnerabilities).
tl:dr: If you were to start one, use a PayPal Donation Fund (preferably hosted by someone trustable, i.e. a Moderator on r/jailbreak), and make sure that your requirements actually make sense... define what constitutes a jailbreak, etc.
It’s all one tweak! It’s called “Classic” (theme), BigBoss. Plus MakeRespringsGreatAgain for the original respring logo that comes with the theme. I’ve been trying to find tweaks that give me the original notification banner, but I’m still searching. Running iOS 6.0.1 on an iPhone4.
If you ran "Erase all settings and data" on a jailbroken device, there is little chance of it returning to normal. You would need to restore it. Have you tried putting it into DFU mode?
Since iOS 9.0.2 is no longer signed, you will have to restore to the latest iOS 9.1 which is not jailbreakable. I hope you have your device backed up on iCloud/iTunes.
For the record, do not run the Erase function on a jailbroken device. If you need it to return to stock, use Cydia Impactor if your device is running iOS 8.1 through 8.4. It will remove the jailbreak, restore the stock system files (particularly if you have modified system files), and remove all user data.
Not sure if this is the right place / tag but I saw this on dribble and I'm really interested if this is possible!
edit: sorry for the low quality picture
I performed a test and made sure my settings were set to this (they already were). Then I searched for "test" and Spotlight still shows "Bing Search" for any text entered. In addition, when I say to Siri, "Search the web for XXXX" results returned are from Bing too unless I say, "Google for XXXX" where it opens my default web browser. So, it seems unless I'm missing something, this does not work for OP's request. In fact, the Siri issue is mentioned practically word for word, here
Or download Shairport on your PC and stream audio via AirPlay to your PC.
Or use an old jailbroken device with one of those AirPlay Server tweaks (I know there's at least 3). As long as you have decent speakers its worth it.
Try SwipeShiftCaret or SwipeSelection.
I recently completed this on PC, I'll give some steps for the beginning (this would be steps 1-3)
1.Download putty and go through the setup process, if you are unsure on what version to get: newer, faster computers usually run x64; older, slower, and/or cheap computers would run x32. (Both would work with x32)
Within your iphone's settings (assuming that you are already connected to the internet) press the information icon on your own wifi network: your IP address will be displayed here.
Relaunch putty, click on SSH (It should be there by default) , and enter into the address bar: root@ IPADDRESS
3.5. Look at the other instructions that were originally posted.
If you are having problems with step 3, that means that your device was not successfully jail-broken. The Electra app should tell you that your device was jail-broken.
If you successfully got into the command console but it keeps saying "access denied" be sure that root is the username and alpine is the password.
I made this guide mostly because I was having a hard time understanding what to do.
