The app for the speed display is called: Internet Speed Meter. They got a free version and a paid version. Ive been using this app since it got released, and always the first app to install on my new phones.
Link for the lazy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite
Hopefully we get an answer soon. I didn't need it 5 mins ago but now I don't even want to use my phone again til I get this
Edit: found this
Glasswire has more advanced features(Firewall, Individual app usage, Month/Week/Day data usage).
Think some of these don't need xposed
Network Speed Indicator: there's a plethora of apps that will add network info to the status bar not sure exactly what you need but check the similar apps to this you may find what you want: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite
Statusbar Headset Icon: already included in stock 7.1.1
XCallRecordingSettings: never needed xposed for call recording, only ever root. Using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder at the moment (needs a patch to be flashed and some testing to make sure it works but it does work)
Minimum Brightness: f.lux and cf lumen can reduce brightness with root or of course you could bring a range of sunglasses of various opacities wherever you go? ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪
VolumeSteps+, Not sure about this one
Things I miss about xposed are ability to change the flag thingamagig so you can screenshot stuff like netflix or other apps that don't allow it (prime now for some reason)
Being able to download instagram pics.
Oh and date in the status bar with the time in the middle.
Google photo backup is likely causing your problem, since DSL has slow upload speed and affects your download too when the up link bandwidth is 100% used. You can install this app to monitor the phone's network traffic, or use your router's traffic monitor to monitor it. You can also use the router's QOS feature to limit how much the phone can use.
I've been using Internet Speed Meter Lite. It shows you the current internet speed and of cource the daily data usage.
I use this one. I think it is simple and straight to the point.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite
Do you need the speed data broken up by app, or just your device's overall up/down speeds?
If overall info works for you, what about using a third party app like Internet Speed Meter Lite and grabbing the data from its notification using Tasker?
Otherwise, I am not aware of any Tasker plugins that can do that for you.
I dont know if its the same one as his but I use Internet Speed Meter Lite. I use these settings: enable notificatin, seperate notifications, seperate usage. Note you do need to allow notification access for it to work. Otherwise you can use the floating widget. Hope this helps.
First one: Download >https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite Second one: Download one hand operation plus (from Samsung) and set right handle>long swipe>close app Third one: Go to bixby routines>add routine> If>button action>side key> press and hold>Then>functions>Torch>on Fourth one: Can't help you with that. Fifth one: Go to one hand operation+>right handle>short swipe>diagonal down>open notification panel.
For GPS, icon will only appear when some apps is using GPS. You can re-arrange GPS toggle icon to first page and toggle off if not in use.
Currently i'm using this app for network speed meter

Yes, most modern devices have a setting for WiFi and data usage. Look for 'Data Usage' on Windows and check under Network & Internet settings on an Android phone.
You can also install apps on both that specifically track data usage. This is what I use for my laptop NetSpeedMonitor (64-bit) - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download And this for my phone Internet Speed Meter Lite - Apps on Google Play
It doesn't always replace old assets but adds what seem to be replacement files next to the already present ones. On my main, latest and fastes phone it did this bnut it works fine. On an older one it hung too several times during first startup (not yet assets download) and I had to restart a few times. At one time the app was force closed and yet there was a significant download going on which I could see with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite .
It finally started up and after downloading assets it had the normal 5GB.
The only way to get it back to 5GB is clearing all data, which is functionally equivalent to deleting and re-installing thw app and downloading all assets again. Then you'll have 5GB again.
If you're unlucky you'll have to restart stalled downloads a few times, hopefully not as many times as I had to do on this older phone. It was really frozen each time. I tried leaving it for a few hours and it didn't resume.
Xiaomi phones with MIUI has it built in Settings, most custom ROMs as well. Vanilla ROMs can use GravityBox with EdXposed or an app from the Play Store called Internet Speed Meter Lite.
Hi!
I don't know if there is an app that will completely satisfy you.
This site probably does what you want but it is browser based as far as I can tell:

You say app, so maybe your on android?
This app always displays your current download speed, not exactly what you asked, but could be useful?
you can install speedmeter app on your phone and try downloading the file from rd. this app will show you the dl speed on the status bar. link
I use this Internet Speed Meter to keep track of "how much data I have used", " how much speed do I get" and "which app is using internet". You have to buy the pro version though if you want to keep track of which app is currently using your internet.
Data usage will be shown on the notification panel
Just to follow up from earlier (was on mobile):
If your goal is to get playing right away and you have the ability to share a mobile data connection to your console, that's the one way I was able to get gaming. My home network was suddenly exhibiting the same issues you are describing, but as far as I can tell only with Destiny.
Data usage was surprisingly low, an estimated 100 MB per hour. Single player missions were much less, social spaces more, Crucible the most.
If you don't have tethering service on your phone and just want to get going maybe whatever plan you have is worth to you turning on for a billing cycle until Bungie sorts out whatever has broken. Just be aware of what your costs are versus usage, and use an app like this one for Android to keep track of what you've consumed after each mission or round.
Good luck.
Hmm alright so I found this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite
This would make it appear in the top left.
Also it just popped up in me, if you open recent apps, and you scroll all the way down, there should be 3 icons appearing below the bottom app. The middle one clears them all, it gives you a warning first though. (The thing I was thinking about with the hidden option is just on resurrection remix)
Also if you go to 'settings > sim cards > sim 1 settings > system select > home only' that should put roaming mode to only in your own country. I'm not sure because I've never tried something like that, but the option described itself as working like that.
Hope this answer was a bit more helpful ;-)
Internet Speed Meter shows your data speed at all times. I'm addicted to seeing how fast I'm transferring any type of data as it's happening.
Some custom roms and UIs like miui has inbuilt feature that shows internet speed in real time. Xposed modules for rooted phones can also do this.
If you are not rooted. You can try apps for this feature.
Internet speed meter - doesn't have ads. You can buy pro version for more features.
Internet meter - There are ads though.
Net speed indicator - Free. No ads, doesn't ask internet permission.
Upstream - No ads. Free. Open source.
Will this help OP? This only shows data usage in the notification panel tho. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite
Probably an Android app like this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite
I bought the full version for this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite
What's the screen optimisation?
What does "only mobile data" mean? Obviously it only shows mobile data if you only have mobile data enabled and no wifi connection at the same time. I don't think Android is supposed to use mobile data at all if you then again do have a wifi connection.
Internet Speed Limiter: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite
Throughput from F-Droid: https://f-droid.org/packages/de.mangelow.throughput/ (no KB/s in the bar itself, instead displayed in the notification)
Glasflow (also on Play but older version): https://f-droid.org/packages/com.mridang.speedo/
unrelated: What's the app you use to provide the real time bandwidth usage? is it internet speed meter lite?
I use Internet Speed Meter Lite to monitor my download speed from the notification bar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.internet.speed.meter.lite
Yup. They should do something, so that more users can know about this features.
That download rate thing. There is in-built option in xiaomi devices & also some lenovo devices-Talking about my device - It's Miui feature. There is an option to enable internet speed in status bar.

/u/jmnietert - You might be interested in Internet Speed Meter Lite... I'm not on Fi but I have a 2GB plan that I share with someone else, so my data is very scarce.... This helps LOADS. Being able to 100% know if you're on WiFi or Mobile Data is infinitely useful and helpful, but I also just found out like last week that you can set "budgets" for your data, either monthly or daily, and it'll show you how much out of your "budget" you've used, in real time, whenever you're connected and using your Data. I set mine so that it's daily, 1024 MB / 30 days = 34.4 ish MB.
