When I was still commuting, I'd use to turn on the Moovit app when I'm inside the LRT and seated. Once I'm near my stop, the phone will vibrate and alert me, and that's my cue to wake up. Mga 30mins din na nap yun. I'm not worried about thieves since I secured my zippers with S biners.

Hi guys. Last week tinry ko pumara ng taxi.

If may gusto kayong idagdag(which i really recommend), pm nyo po ako or email nyo po ako or comment po kayo dito at idadagdag natin yan sa next update. Uulitin ko po, libre po to at wala akong kikitain dito.
Kupal ba ng taxi? ireklamo. Mabagal ba ang internet? ireklamo. Ginago ka ba ng mga telcos? ireklamo.
No, GMA did not took down the video. They just blocked us (Philippines) from viewing it.
I guess other countries can view the video?
UPDATE 1: I tested on a VPN on US, Germany, UK London... video is still blocked :/ (I used hidemyass free VPN web proxy)
UPDATE 2: Tested another VPN... Installed Hotspot Shield chrome ext, set my VPN to Germany... and video is showing.
The very layout of the jeep is a danger to passengers and no amount of exterior repainting is going to change that.
There is also no case in the world where loosely-regulated independent for-profit private contractors operating a public utility ever came out to be beneficial to public welfare. It just leads to dangerous behavior on the roads and inefficient competition in pursuit of profit.
Kalesas were an indelible part of our culture too once upon a time but we moved on from it.
We shouldn't let our public transportation system be crippled by an existing system out of nostalgia.
(also if you're going to say that jeeps need to be more fuel efficient then that would mean replacing the body with a lighter material, removing superfluous accents, and replacing the surplus diesel engines that almost all jeeps use. So basically, removing everything that makes it cheap and look like a jeepney in the first place)
Android redditors,
I'd like to introduce you to THE GAME my younger brother, a 15-year-old, developed ALL ON HIS OWN.
This is his entry to the 2016 Android Masters Competition
I'm so proud of him!! I hope y'all try this out!!
Never mind the whataboutism, di ba niya alam that the New York Times wrote pieces that weren't exactly endorsing the war in Iraq and intervention in Syria? Y'know, stuff like Iraq War Lies, 13 Years Later and Syria’s Paradox: Why the War Only Ever Seems to Get Worse.

I believe i am one of their descendants from the Dreyfus family, whose a family of farmers from France. My cousin who is currently in SF now met and interviewed them in USA and in PH, most of them went back to America, some in France after the war, but some very few stayed somewhere in Nueva Ecijia; these are the Honrado's which are obviously not pure blooded anymore.
EDIT: (i got so many things wrong, forgive me) So they're actually Diamond Merchants, who happens to be related to this man accused of being a german spy, after that the family vanished. We have no Idea how they ended up in our shores but maybe this explains how they were able to afford a boat trip to the other side of the world.

Viktor Frankl was a Jew psychiatrist and a holocaust survivor.
In his book, Man's Search for Meaning, he observed that there were prisoners who gave their daily ration of bread to sick prisoners and some prisoners who preyed on the weak. On the Nazi side, there were guards who brutally treated them like animals, but there were also guards who risked their positions by smuggling medicine for the sick Jew prisoners.
> There are two races of men in this world, but only these two — the “race” of the decent man and the “race” of the indecent man. Both are found everywhere; they penetrate into all groups of society. No group consists entirely of decent or indecent people. In this sense, no group is of “pure race” — and therefore one occasionally found a decent fellow among the camp guards. — Viktor Frankl
Check out a great article about the book.

For quite a while before the Japanese brought the war to our shores, the Philippines had been accepting Jewish refugees.
I am not sure if this is the same article I've read before on this topic, but here it is anyways:

Isn't talk of Philippine politics about the Philippines? And wouldnt' that be valid on this sub, as per Rule #2 on the sidebar?
If you're so pissed off about politics, why not use something like RES to filter posts that come up?

Learn how to count calories. This app is the first step: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myfitnesspal.android&hl=fil
Don't do crash diets (no rice diet, no dinner, no sweets etc.). Fitness is a lifestyle not a fad. You want to build a habit. Don't punish yourself, make a slow, gradual change.
Eat healthy. Very basic. You can still eat your favorite sweets but in small portions. You can still eat burgers. Again, see #1. When you know how much calories you need each day, you can eat everything as long as your daily caloric needs allow it.
Whey protein or any fucking supplements is not required. They are called supplements for a reason. If you're eating clean, you get a lot of the nutrients from natural food.
Work out at least 3x a week. Work your whole body. Muscle imbalances can cause injuries.
Cardio is a great supplement to lifting

Thinking, Fast and Slow by D Kahneman. Good read but feels like a textbook, I've just been picking it up every now and then now.
Edit: I forgot to add description. It's a nonfiction book by one of a two psychologists whose body of work is around our thinking processes (fast - intuitive, quick, snap; slow - more conscious, purposeful, tedious). The book discusses the experiments they've performed to understand how humans think, discover weaknesses / benefits of either type of thinking process, etc. It's a really really good collection of work that they had over the years, and recently I've been thinking about the book in relation to fake news.

Just checked the Maugnaying Talasalitaang Pang-Agham book (which I've linked), and 'dinosaur' is not in there. In cases such as this, the book encourages people to coin new words, so:
Dambutiki (Dambuhala+Butiki)
But it sounds contradictory, since in Tagalog we often think of butiki as something small. So on to a bigger reptile:
Dambuyawak (Dambuhala + Bayawak). I've seen passages where lizard is translated as 'bayawak.' https://glosbe.com/en/tl/lizard

Nasa Spotify na ang Beatles discography. Boy oh boy what a wonderful Christmas eve!
What is your favorite Beatles song? What is your favorite Beatles album/compilation? Who is your favorite Beatle?
Also, sharing the Coursera course that made me appreciate them even more: https://www.coursera.org/learn/the-beatles
To answer my own question: Favorite Beatles song: Here, There and Everywhere Favorite Beatles album: A Hard Day's Night Compilation: The Beatles 1962-1966 mainly because mas type ko yung era nila na pre-Revolver, and napapansin ng madami na nadala pa din nila yung pop craftsmanship nila ng mga kanta sa mas experimental albums nila. Favorite Beatle: Lennon.
P.S. Mas gusto ko talaga yung Mono masters nila over the Stereo remasters. Mas buo yung tunog and ok pakinggan kahit sa small phone speakers.

1.) on filipinos choosing him --> http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/120015/rizal-%E2%80%98amboy%E2%80%99-or-home-made-hero
quote: "The rationale for naming Rizal as the Filipinos’ national hero by the American administration was articulated by US Governor General W. Cameron Forbes in his book, “The Philippine Islands,” also cited by Constantino. Forbes wrote:
“It is eminently proper that Rizal should have become the acknowledged national hero of the Philippine people. Rizal never advocated independence, nor did he advocate armed resistance to the government. He urged reform from within by publicity, by public education, and appeal to the public conscience.”
But in truth it was the Filipinos and not the Americans who first chose Rizal as their national hero. It was revolutionary President Emilio Aguinaldo of the First Philippine Republic—not Taft and the Second Philippine Commission—who first designated Rizal as a national hero."
2.) on rizal as a pioneer asian nationalist leader --> https://prezi.com/ma5ftldf-kjb/rizal-pioneer-asian-nationalist-leader/
quote: "Fisher (1962) even called Rizal the Pioneer Exponent of Liberal Democracy in Asia, According to her, eveb before Gandhi and Sun Yat-Sen began their career in poloitical agitation, Rizal through his essays, letters, and novels had already spoken out with firmness and courage ideas on liberal democracy.
Rizal was born in the decade when other nationalist leaders of Asia were born; Mohandas Gandhi, Rabindaranath Tagore and Sun Yat-Sen. According to Coates (1968), all the four challenged the West. Of the four, Rizal was the most remarkable because his ideas matured at an early age. At the time that Gandhi was a schoolboy, Rizal was already articulating lucidly in his speeches articles and letters his views of a completely different relationship between Asia and Europe-that the Asians must be regarded by Europe as equals. "
As I mentioned since Wednesday, I decided to give away this Buddhist book I have. This is the last chance, so here it is.
The book is <strong>Open Heart, Clear Mind</strong> by Thubten Chodron. This is an introduction to Buddhism and its teachings, and it contains practical advice that even a non-Buddhist would find useful. I bought 2 copies of this book, so I will give you the extra copy.
So, how to get this book? I would like to give this book to someone who is genuinely interested in Buddhism (and thus more inclined to try practicing it), so I would like those interested to send me a message on this question:
Why would you want to introduce Buddhism into your life?
As for the rules, I made a post on r/PHBookClub, which you can read on this link right here (para di masyadong wall-of-texty.)
The winner will be announced tomorrow sa DRD. :)

Even in a sport of boxing where you get to hit your opponent, there are set of RULES.
Yong halimbawa mo, kapag sinapak ang kapatid ko, depende, naglalaro ba ng sports yong kapatid ko. Sports or not, either aawat ako o kung nasaksihan ko ang ginawa sa kapatid ko, I will defend him, but I will not go chasing people with a full fist.

There's this pdf/epub/djvu (.etc) reader called STDU viewer which I'm really liking right now. Its winning feature for me is that you can export the portions of the pdf/epub/djvu which you have highlighted into one text file. The text file has the highlighted portions complete with the page number where they appear in the document
I use the highlight tool a lot when reading pdf's etc., and this just makes collecting quotes from a novel or an academic work way easier.
A negative point however with STDU viewer is the lack of a note/comment function like in Okular. Also, it's only available in Windows OS.
Overall, it's one of the best multi-format document viewer I've ever used.

Buy yourself "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham either paperback or an electronic copy via Kindle. READ IT! Learn what investing is rather than speculating PLEASE!!! After that google on how to understand company 10-Ks. Most people who buy stocks/bonds have fallen under same mistake of disconnecting their shares/bonds with the actual company who issued them. You are going to invest on actual entities whose performance would make or break you. Do not believe that earning money via stocks and bonds simply require you to stare at those up and down candles and line graphs. Hopefully after reading the book you get to pick your companies and stocks with the proper mind frame and awareness. But please again! Learn the difference between real investing and speculating from the book above. Edit. Here is a FREE VERSION you cheapo!. Now Read! Source. Personal experience with top European Fund Managers, Mutual and Hedge fund analysts in their right mind.
I just finished reading When Breath Becomes Air last night. No words can describe just how eloquent and beautiful the book was.
The book is a memoir by Paul Kalanithi, a neurosurgeon/writer who, just in the brink of finishing his residency, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He wrote the book during the final months in his life in which he tackles his view on life, death, happiness, suffering, God, and so on.
After reading the book, it didn't left me melancholic (which most people would think after reading a book about someone with cancer). No, quite far from it. It's moving, thought-provoking and hopeful in every sense of the word.
Read it and meet one of the most amazing man the world never knew.
I invest in stocks and UITF bonds as part of my long-term financial plan. COL Financial offers the lowest barrier to entry at P5,000. For UITFs, you can start with Security Bank at P10,000. Do check both of these and other alternatives before committing to anything.
I don't know at which stage you are financially but it helps to cover all these before investing. A friend who's a financial adviser and other pros recommend the same:
Point #1 is important since any debt (like overdue credit card charges) is an offset against any profit you'll earn from your investments.
And point #3 is important if you have dependents or if you're self-employed and don't have health insurance yet. I didn't have any of these (life or health insurance) when I started investing. I thought I didn't need one since I'm not married and don't have dependents.
Once you've covered these three, shop around for investment options and educate yourself financially. If you have time, read Benjamin Graham's The Intelligent Investor. I think this is a must-read if you're really serious about getting actual returns.
You can also attend stock investment seminars for free. The fundamentals are extremely important. There are too many advice out there. If your knowledge of the fundamentals is strong, you'll relatively be safe from hype and misinformation.
Because I'm an emotional wreck, I tried using this app Daylio...so far so good, this is way better than a physical diary since I could just log in my emotions anytime.
My game studio's first game was just released last week, and now I'll spread the word about it here. The title of the game is Change Heroes, and it is a vertical artillery shooting game.
Up na yung app ko! Please everyone. Try and rate na din sa play store! Quick question. Anong version lumalabas sa inyo? It should be 1.0.1.
What you said is spot on. This is actually my inspiration into making my android app (ad-free, forever free). Im hoping it'll make people more active in reporting to relevant authorities.

Hello, I'm a bot! The movie you linked is called On the Job, here are some Trailers
I think that it really is more about giving people options about their reproductive health, rather than controlling population (although that's a great perk). We want people to be able to decide when they want to have children, or not at all.
Also, the median age in Philippines is 23.4 years, compared to Japan's 46.7 years. We have a fairly young population so I don't think we should worry about population decline. Also note that developed countries, like Japan, naturally experience a population decline. I think that if we are to worry about population decline, it might be because of our relatively poor health system or poverty.
Just my two cents though.
> Unlike Spain, the Americans instituted mandatory, free public education across the island
Contrary to popular belief, Spain implemented modern public education in the Philippines. In 1863, Queen Isabella of Spain ordered the Education Decree, which provided free access to primary education for boys and girls in each town. The Philippines became the first country in Asia which had a compulsory form of modern education thanks to the implementation of the Royal Decree.
Former President Quezon corroborated the implementation of such schools during the Spanish colonial period on his speech for the Philippine Assembly at the US Congress on October 1914:
> ...there were public schools in the Philippines long before the American occupation, and, in fact, I have been educated in one of these schools, even though my hometown is such a small town, isolated in the mountains of the Northeastern part of the island of Luzon.
> ...as long ago as 1866 when the total population of the Philippine Islands was only 4,411,261 souls, and when the total number of municipalities in the archipelago was 900, the total public schools was 841 for boys and 833 for girls and the total number of children attending these schools was 135,098 for boys and 95,260 for girls. And these schools were really edifices and the students were lively, intelligent, alert. In 1892, the number of schools had increased to 2,137, 1,087 of which were for boys and 1,050 for girls. I have seen with my own eyes many of these schools and thousands of those students. They were not religious schools, but schools established, supported and maintained by the Government (Spanish).
You can use Reddit Enhancement Suite (RES) and set the classic style as suggested by u/hellotheremiss in this thread.. In the meantime, keep your suggestions coming and we'll try to sort it out for you guys.
Epic bad, but Kingdom Come Deliverance is very good. Probably one of the best games released in the past 5 years.

So give it a go if you haven't yet.

You're better off buying it in the Blizzard site this week because there's a Black Friday sale going on with the version that's the same as what Datablitz is selling. It's $35.

So, there's this interesting article about astroturfing happening on reddit. Here's the link if you wanna read it too. Pretty interesting stuff, given the fact that different sides are trying their best to make some noise here.
For those who don't know Shitpostbot 5000
>It’s not just our jobs that are at risk of being stolen by robots; in the year 2016 even our creative pursuits are being automated.
>If you pride yourself on creating the dankest memes around, watch out — ShitpostBot 5000 is here to show you up. The combination of a website and Facebook page is an experiment in automated meme making that’s trying to push the boundaries of internet culture creation.
>Here’s how it works: Users upload pictures and meme templates to the accompanying website for the posts to be created. These are then randomly matched and uploaded every 30 minutes to the Facebook page.
>The images are put together at random, but our minds tend to see connections even when they’re not intended to be there. So somehow, the results are still funny to us:

Depends on your skillset. You should apply on legit sites such as onlinejobs.ph, upwork.com, etc. There are also some subreddits that hire people for menial tasks.
Palawan is awesome, make it a point to go
I stayed at the Hibiscus Garden Hotel For around $30 usd a night, but it was nice, had wifi and its within walking distance of a white beach and not far from the airport in puerto princessa.
You have to see the underground river, take an aircon van (might cost $20) but worth it, otherwise its going to be a very hot ride!
Even better if you can stay the night in sabang in palawan , its beautiful
oh sweet lord. Stay away from that game if you are susceptible to addiction. There was a time that I couldn't stop playing this. It must be something about tapping into our primitive memories and reward mechanisms.
EDIT: If you have time to spare, try A dark room too.
+1 Cherry Mobile One & Myphone Uno.
These are Android One phones ( https://www.android.com/one/ ) - which means they run the latest version of Android (that even fancy phones like that sony z3 or many samsung galaxy phones don't have) They come without all the bloatware (pre-installed apps that slow your phone down) and run real smooth with pretty good battery life too!
Although Windows 10 Pro can be acquired, an individual subscription license for AutoCAD alone is staggering, nearly costs as much as the workstations above. Hence programs like FreeCAD.
Pansin ko last week, marami palang nanunuod ng series dito pero hirap mag keep up sa schedule. I suggest gamit kayo neto.
Basically, you create an account, then make a list of your shows, then it will add on the calender, when and what episodes will air on a given date.
Obligatory Khan Academy comment. Nadiscover ko din dito dati yung radiooooo. Ang cool lang nung website kasi pwede mo masilip yung music per decade ng ibat ibang countries.
People probably already know this but I just discovered Akinator and it's amazing. It basically asks 20 or less questions and guesses who you're thinking of.
I tried it 5 times and it correctly guessed I was thinking (in the order I tried it) of Rand al'Thor, Pnoy, Jose Rizal, Min Farshaw, and I really wanted to trip it to prove it doesn't know everything so I tried myself and... it guessed it correctly. That part was creepy. @_@
Edit: Tried one last time and it doesn't know Juan Tamad. I guess it doesn't know a lot about the (relatively) obscure Philippine personalities and characters.
As I mentioned yesterday, I decided to give away this Buddhist book I have.
Looking forward for more entries!
Hmm, you can try changing your ISP but there's a good chance they'll be throttling you as well. I think investing in a good VPN is better, you can try smth like NordVPN. If I remember correctly, it has the biggest server number, so the speeds should be okay, just try to look for the least loaded servers.
Thanks for the reply. Unang una hindi ka nanonood ng porn bwahaha to the nth power! Anyway, try mo change yung location mo sa VPN to access diff content on Netflix. Kung US na show e di US kung asian na show usually Hong Kong available na lahat. So far sa na try ko na Kaspersky, BitDefender and ExpressVPN effective naman.
I recently signed up for NordVPN. I paid like $79 for two years, which amounts to a little more than around $3 a month. It's been working great for me so far. No speed drops, easy set up, and I can watch US Netflix content.
VPN does not help with speed, as it can only bypass throttling. If you feel like your torrents/streams are being throttled, your VPN will be able to help you with that. It's pretty much only for security and privacy otherwise.
Oh, I have Private Internet Access (PIA) vpn, and I can run my own server on Azure/Digital Ocean for VPN through Windows server/Ubuntu+OpenVPN.
This this really bypass the throttling or the data quota by just routing all traffic over SSH , port 22?
Hindi pa na-approve ang updated version ng first game ko sa App Store but it's on Google Play now, I call it Pinoy Poll. Here's the trailer video.

If you have the time and money get an internship. I recently finished an internship at UXMNL, a UX design agency in Makati, it's a great UX company and I highly recommend that you try out for their internship program. I learned a lot. Things like UX is not just UI, rather UI is a part of UX as it is the overall experience of a person using the product and it actually focuses more on user-centric design as opposed to opinion-based. There's a huge emphasis on the products users when talking about User Experience Design. It's the sweet spot where business goals and user needs intersect. So if you want UX as a career, you'll mostly do stakeholder interviews, user-research, usability tests, heuristic evaluations, empathy mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and more. All those tasks come before the visual design (UI). In UX it all boils down to emotions, whether your users are happy, sad, delighted or annoyed when using a product. Invest on UX, man. I'm currently employed doing dev work now but I plan to pivot to UX Design sooner or later.
Pros: There's more research, group work and communicating with clients and users done in UX Design than actual visual design work. So it doesn't really matter if you're good at Photoshop or Illustrator. You don't even have to know how to code. Cons: Sadly, most companies and people here in the Philippines think UX is UI so if you look for a UX job you'll mostly see "UX/UI" coz they expect you to do graphic design.
To get you started with how UX really work try reading this books:
The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman
Don't Make Me Think by Steve Krug
Emotional Design - Why We Love (or Hate) Everyday Things by Don Norman
Elements of User Experience by Jesse James Garrett
EDIT: Formatting
We're free to find meaning in our circumstance, even if our circumstances are terrible - of course. Victor Frankl's book Man's Search for Meaning shows this extends even to horrific situations such as Nazi death camps.
That still doesn't change the fact that some have more options to choose between, and others fewer.
Here is a good illustration, in a different nation's context: http://thewireless.co.nz/articles/the-pencilsword-on-a-plate
This is why it is important that those of us with privilege work to expand the options and choices available to those who have fewer options.
Of course choice plays a part: you also have rich kids who chose to do nothing but waste their lives, despite the plethora of options available to them.
