yes, Sony has used a linear actuator for vibration (like Apple's Taptic and Nintendo's Switch) since the XZ2.

The phone for the US market is great but outside of it i struggle to see how great it is.
Aside from camera the phone pretty meh for its price
In india its 7K more than the Oneplus 7 which is just ridiculous
In the UK its £400-£479 which is around the same price as a Mi 9, Honor view 20, Galaxy A70
The phone uses eMMC storage which for its price is just ridiculous and the design is dated for a mid 2019 phone. I'm not saying a notch is needed but look at a phone like the Meizu 16S
> probably 30
That's cute. GSM Arena lists 79 Android devices that came out this year alone. Considering that most Android devices stay on the market for a year or two, let's look at how many different Android phones were released between 2017 and now: 947
Now, of course not all of these are available in all markets (the US is usually getting the short end of the stick in terms of choice due to their carrier system), many are limited to certain countries like India or China, but still, there's a bewildering number of Android phones available.
No headphone jacks on budget phones ........ Congrats Apple, you truly do lead the industry.
Edit: They also claim to have a better camera than the Iphone X. Which is possible but unlikely. 3000 mah battery should give a days worth of battery quite easily.
Samsung is working on it though. Samsung patent says future selfie cameras may sit behind the screen
If anyone is interested about statistics how small phones are disappearing:
Number of phones released with smaller than 66mm in width (Moto X was - 65.3, Z3 Compact - 64.9, Nexus 4 - 68,7, iPhone 5S - 58.6):
Year | Small phones count |
---|---|
2012 | 269 |
2013 | 209 |
2014 | 219 |
2015 | 116 |
2016 | 41 |
2017 | 14 |
2018 | 4 |
P.S. I've excluded sub 3" screen devices, because most of these are watches or non-smart phones.

> As per the FCC approval documents, the New Nokia 9 carrying the model number TA-1005 will sport a 5.5 inch OLED display made by LG, however the resolution of the display is not yet disclosed. This is the first time Nokia is using an OLED screen on their smartphones, after launching their this year flagship with LCD display called Nokia 8.
It's kind of funny to say these are Nokias first OLED screens. Obviously it's true for HMD Nokia, but the 'real' Nokia had OLED smartphones way back in 2009...
Sharp has actually released three 120Hz phones so far with the most recent having a 5.3" 1440p HDR display and a qualcomm 835.
My guess is less then 100,000 Pixel 2/XL phones are in stock at launch.
LG can only pump out 37,000 OLED panels in a month and they need it for the V30, and Xiaomi is also their customer. So I can't see how much OLED panels LG can make for the Pixel.
> my parents have been using (the same) flip phones for the last 10+ years
My MIL is very attached to her Nokia 7370, so a couple years back I bought some new old stock of those on the cheap. I still have 1 brand new in box, 1 used but in good shape, one used and quite worn (mainly for parts) and some more assorted parts like battery covers, front covers, protective carrier bags, multiple of the particular headset she's used to, chargers, etc. She should be able to continue using that phone for many years to come :D
GSMArena 3.5mm selector: Yup, 144 results
(limited to 2018 phones+available now. Needs more refinement for region-specific bands and all that junk)
Recently got the XZ2 Compact. Beastly device, shame no headphone jack is present, but I realised my old Sony Ericsson didn't have a headphone jack either!
Take that, Apple!
The top of the GSMArena battery list is still pretty boring.
I was hoping we see some actual flagships up there this year, turns out old 2016 midrangers are still a lot better with battery.
GSM Arena kind of said it best "[Google is ready to fully embrace 2017, fitting the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL with 6GB of RAM]"(https://www.gsmarena.com/google_is_ready_to_fully_embrace_2017_fitting_the_pixel_4_and_pixel_4_xl_with_6gb_of_ram_rumor_says-news-38214.php). It is a matter of perception by the market (except in Pixel 3's case where it was definitely a matter of too little RAM causing memory and performance issues). Apple changed to Intel chips for this very reason. Their proprietary chips worked great with their RISC architecture running at a much lower clock speed but they were losing the hearts and minds of consumers. If Google want to be seen as anything other than a bit player, they need to meet (and then exceed in some cases) market norms.
That's just clearly not true. Here's a simple comparison of both the nexus 6 and nexus 6p with the HTC and LG flagship counterparts of their years.
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=6604&idPhone2=6074&idPhone3=6294
and
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7588&idPhone2=6891&idPhone3=6901
Both nexus phones not only kept up with the competition but in a number of ways outshined the competition. The Pixel line is a very natural continuation of the nexus line, and the fact that the QA problems persist is just more indicative of this. In fact, many people by today's standards claim that Google's current Pixels fail to keep up with the title of "flagship" since the competition has so many features while Google's Pixels neglects or cuts them.
Doesn't have to be 2, 1st one already had 120 Hz display. It could also be Sharp Aquos R2 compact, according to GSMArena those are the only phones that have 120 Hz displays.
Really hope they recover; when they weren't gimmicking their phones up in a panic to sell them, they were legitimately amazing. Other than the shoddy battery, my dad's HTC 10 has been an excellent performer in all respects.
And their U19e looks pretty sweet, but still pretty expensive compared to Chinese brands. It certainly won't sell well in India/China, but might have a shot in the US? But I don't know if they have that kinda funding right now.
Amazing hardware for the price but ColorOS destroys any phone.
Realme phones have unlockable bootloader and kernel sources but the rom development is still crap. See the realme 2 pro on XDA that only has a few OREO roms

Sure they're good, not the best though. The iPhone 8/8+ is still more accurate, has higher brightness and better overall contrast ratio.
It won't work because Huawei/Kirin isn't developer friendly and they have no intentions to open up the platform.
Take a look at this all these Kirin phones: https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sChipset=24,25,26 - do you see a pattern there?
Here is a comparison of the two phones.

You can click on the link for a more detailed comparison, I just tried to summarize it above. Hope this helps :)
Its standardized though, so it is 100% comparable (however, not real life "accurate"). GSMArena tests every phone the exact same way to include calls, web viewing, video, and standby (very nice, since just stating SOT is nebulous).
These tests are precise, but not accurate. Which is much better than not precise or accurate
if you compare the phones specs you'll see that the pixel 3 has an extra radio for the 600 mhz band which I beleive is for T-Mobile. It also supports a higher version of LTE advanced.
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9256&idPhone2=8733
see my comment.
Huawei isn't making this a proprietary standard. they are just kick starting it.
Ahmmm not anymore, or for a very long time actually. Huawei is being really innovative last few years, people blames Xiaomi a basically a copycat of apple but they made some cool innovations too eg Mi Mix back in 2016 when "infinity display" wasnt even a thing. They also tried the first whole screen phone (like vivo NEX S) although it was a concept phone back then, then there's the new 90% screen to body ratio by Oppo and Vivo and much more to cover in here
Or how about this?
OP started this thread on /r/AndroidQuestions, which is a sub that I frequent to give people free technical support. I'd like to think I know what I'm doing...
This is apparently OP's phone from 7 months ago. For those of you who are less tech-savvy, this is a budget Android phone. It cost only $100 USD at initial launch in 2015, but it performs like a phone from even longer ago, like in 2012. The technical specs basically prove it. And let's be honest: anyone who's used a budget Android phone in the past few years knows how slow they can be.
Why does this matter? Let's just say if I was someone who's working in a demanding role like trading, I would not be using a phone that would lag just opening emails. There's no reason to put yourself through the headache of using a subpar phone like that. And if my bonus was $100K- like OP claims - I'm pretty sure I could afford to spend more on my phone. The only "true" fact is that the phone is used primarily in India, which does line up with this prorevenge story.
Don't get me wrong, it was an entertaining post - fake or not. But to me, this is what gets OP busted.
Other companies are just more subtle about their lies.
Let's Google what Samsung has been up to this year:
Being sued for misleading advertising
Getting caught using pictures from a professional camera as promotion for a phone camera (again)
Pretending your TV broke as an advertisement for more expensive models
Sure technically none of these are outright lies, but to me knowing spreading heavily misleading information is just as bad as spreading false information.
I have a 5X as well!
I'm switching to a Nokia 6.1. Has headphone jack, no notch, newer/faster processor, better graphics, better storage, Android One, all for $269 USD? Sign me up.
Power Efficiency gains aren't amazing when you compare them to shitty numbers, I've no idea how huawei screwed up the 970 GPU on launch so much, the thing heated up and throttled so much you lost HALF the performance
I had one of those for my Ericsson GA 628 back in 1998 when I work in IT support at a community college. We needed to carry a 3 pack of spare aerials for them because they were easy to snap. I had to wear a suit back then and kept my phone in a ridiculous shoulder holster rig under my jacket. I did totally realise the cringeworthy nature of it but that's mostly why I bought it. I was self aware at least but I also did like it. It raised a few laughs at least.
I'm a plumber nowadays but it was extremely good money at the time and things were simpler with IT in those days, the hardware was anyway. I ran data cables all over that college as when I started there were only computers in two classrooms and the main office. How things have changed. I now work back at the same community (FE) college training plumbing apprentices. I wouldn't want to do the IT support job there now. I am however unofficial desktop support for the tradeschool there because everyone keeps telling people "He knows computers" when in reality I play games on mine and fix it by googling, just like they could.
I've gone off on a nostalgia trip, sorry about that. Your comment just took me back 20 years.
I will probably begrudgingly accept it when my phone breaks, but right now there are still plenty of options for new phones with headphone jacks. https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2018&chk35mm=selected&chkUSBC=selected I also don't think there will be NO phones with headphone jacks in an eventual future.
>We've got an aluminum + glass design, two screens and two rear-facing cameras. The handset also appears to be pretty thick, but given the 3,000 mAh battery and 4.2-inch AMOLED screens, it's understandable. It also seems to be perfectly sized for handling with one hand... The devices should be available only in China so no Exynos for this one - a Snapdragon 845 will likely sit behind the wheel.
You could try something like this.
☑️metal back
☑️good battery life (based on the experiences of people I know that have the phone, it's easily a 2 day phone)
☑️headphone jack
☑️sd card slot
☑️no notch
☑️IR blaster
☑️FM radio
Shame it's a week old repost.

moving from the 6 plus to the 8 will get you IP67 dust/water resistance, 3D touch, wide color gamut and true-tone display, better cameras, huge jump in processing power, more RAM.
here is a side-by-side comparison if it helps. what's most noticeable though is the addition of 3D touch and improvements to the display.
edit: as /u/afterburners_engaged pointed out, you also get the taptic engine and AR.
edit 2: and also the upgraded fingerprint sensor, thanks /u/KojakMoment !
Apparently, there's 1 phone that had a higher dpi than the iPhone 4 before its release (but we can all agree that since it's not a smartphone, and not from that era, it doesn't count): Sharp 904
“And no, those aren’t holes for a 3.5mm jack, the case just gives the top and bottom mics a wide berth.”
I really wanted to like it, but when comparing it to the note 9, it falls flat for me.
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9257&idPhone2=9163
Pixel 3 has a third less RAM, no headphone jack, no SD card slot (I'm too used to my 128GB card) and it's all glass which is really stupid for anything carried everywhere.
I'm sure a lot of people will like it, but it's a no for me, dawg.
The GSMArena article they sourced from has a lot more detail. Looks pretty nice.

nokia 2,3 and 5 I guess, nothing very exciting
> In the past ... nokia smartphones ... were easy to replace with fresh batteries, since almost all nokias used the same battery type.
You're wrong and here's my proof - a link of all Nokia phones with removable batteries is available below. Battery models are vastly different between them for the most part:
https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sMakers=1&idBatRemovable=1
> Is it even worth it to go for a removable battery device when you cant find a replacement a couple of years after you purchase it?
Yes, it is.
My first and only Android smartphone is and has been the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500. I've had it in possession for over 5 years, since June 2013 to this day. Last year, after 4 years of possession, I decided to replace the battery due to degradation. I went to the brick-and-mortar Samsung store near my home (15 minute drive) and bought a new 20$ Samsung-made battery (they had plenty of batteries in-stock compatible with various Galaxy S and Note flagships). The battery works great, as good as the previous one. It saved me hundreds of dollars.
Really looking forward to their midrange XA3 lineup this year. i got an XA2 to replace my GF's broken Iphone SE BNIB unlocked for $150 from best buy being delivered today. Hell of a phone for $150 - SD630, 3300 mah, headphone jack, same size as an LG G2 with a 5.2" screen in a 142x70mm body, curved back, metal frame, SD card, Type C, headphone jack, 4K video, QC 3.0, decent update schedule, + unlockable bootloader. Sony phones lose value hard around the one year mark.
their P23 is power efficient and and the P60 is also a great SoC with great efficiency.
this P22 is a SD450 competition that brings 12nm TSMC and support for NN API's.
example: P23 on the Oppo F5, 3200mAh 6" 18:9 FHD display- endurance by gsmarena-91h here
the redmie 5, with a bigger battery, smaller display 720p, has worse endurance than this.83h (sd450) here
They have improved heavely since they stopped their X line that was garbage in power consumption.
as i like to ciclejerk soc's, but i dont think Mediatek deserve to be shit on when trying to improve from their mistakes. if they improve their driver support they could be a good challenger for Qualcomm.
Unless these rumoured specs are wrong (lol): https://www.gsmarena.com/htc_u11_plus-8908.php
The battery on the U11 might be slightly bigger, but I agree that it may well have been a "what could have been". It also fits the news articles from when it was shelved about them going for a "smaller" device, the 2 XL is slightly bigger, despite the smaller battery
https://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_xz1_compact-8610.php
There is one factor to consider about the SE, although the screen is very small by todays standards the phone it self is deceptively not as small as you might think, due to the chin and forehead.
Shame they went OLED on the G8. Was one of the few flagships with an IPS display, and they started getting REALLY good with the G6. The contrast was insane for an LCD display.
Glad they're finally using a larger primary camera sensor, LG was using way smaller sensors than the competition for years. Hopefully they have been working on their image processing. At least now they're not at a hardware disadvantage.
Glad they're not going to in display FP sensor. These first gen sensors are a regression.
LG always does a lot of things right, but seems to have a deal breaking flaw for most people be it the camera, software, or quality control. Doubt the G8 will buck the trend. Wish they kept refining the design of the G6 instead of the new look.
Maybe, we'll know in 5 days: https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_redmi_6_pro_arrive_officially_june_25-news-31762.php
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it's fugly.
If you're curious about what the 5T looks like underneath the 5 in the photo, take a gander at the Oppo version that just got announced and revealed.
Externally, it should be nearly identical except for the branding. You can read more about the R11s here.
Looks like you forgot to add the link :p
Verizon's moving away from CDMA, too. They even debuted their first LTE-only flip phone a while back.
https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_max_2-8582.php
250 ευρώ ανά συσκευή, 64gb internal memory, hybrid dual sim, 4gb ram, 5300 mAh battery, Octacore Snapdragon CPU

If this is the case alongside these specs, this could very well be /r/Android's phone of the year. I'm genuinely excited and I hope this phone sells enough to get the competition to do a double-take.
Compared to SD660:
About 20% faster CPU (in single threaded loads, multithreaded is about same).
35% faster GPU, and smaller power consumption.
Some benchmarks:
https://www.gsmarena.com/benchmarking_the_snapdragon_710-news-32222.php
(Meizu 15 and Oppo R15 Pro in the graphs have SD660).
I don't see why that is amazing. Essential has a single device running as close to stock android as you can get.
https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2017&sMakers=9
Samsung has a heavily customised version of android and has released 24 devices in 2018, and another 27 in 2017 when the PH1 was released
You don't need to compare it with Note 9, try Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, it costs 200$, has 4kMah battery, 6inch display, hj in that small footprint...
Not sure which version of the tablet you are referring to but:
The Surface Pro's may also have a different generation of RAM, be priced at a premium or be a money grab. Are the $200 phones using the same gen RAM?
Bullshit. This is the smoothest phone I've owned.
Thats because its an A Series phone in a S series brand.
It was supposed to be the A91 and you can clearly see the similarities between it and A71 and A90.

Lol, the LG V35/G7 Thinq, a flagship phone is already $400 on eBay. It has way, way better specs than this phone. In case anyone is in the market for a new one. It's almost 50% of what it cost a few months ago.
Don't buy crappy mid range phones like this, buy older flagships IMO. Complete waste of money to get new mid range devices instead buying a year or two old flagship.
Except in this case, the G7 Thinq is a phone released this year, which is already the same price as this one.

>This looks like those gimmick bezel less phones that Xiaomi used to make before the designing was refined.
No way, the original Xiaomi Mi Mix looks way better than this. https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_mix-pictures-8400.php
If anything is a gimmick, it's the design of this Pixel 3 XL.
Did you know that the Sony Ericsson W850i Walkman™ phone didn't have a 3.5mm jack?
I did, and that's where my love of BlooTooth came about. Screw the haters ####MW600 4 lyf
The Xr has the same ppi as the iPhone 8 (326 ppi), and the x has a ppi of 485. If you compare those phones in the store you can definitely see a big difference IMO.
Edit: I just found out that the 2010(!) iPhone 4 has a higher pixel density than the Xr with 330 ppi.
V34 broke the removable battery trend: https://www.gsmarena.com/japanexclusive_lg_v34_is_a_52_waterproof_version_of_the_v20-news-21143.php
Why is this getting downvoted? It came out before the V30.
Sorry for the poor grammar in this article.. it's still the source website.
Here's the gsmarena article about this.
Edit : Link fixed.
I had a Samsung U600 phone about a decade ago that came with no headphone jack, but did come with an adapter similar to OP's picture. After a while it developed a short. So much as breathing wrong caused the audio to crackle and/or cut out. Given their track record, I wouldn't bet on Apple's cable build quality being substantially better than Samsung's.
Ironically, the Samsung S9 has a headphone jack. Apple is going into territory that Samsung drunkenly wandered into 10 years ago and then promptly noped the hell out of.
curious why the author prefers a G7 over a smaller S9. The only strength the G7 has it audio quality over wired headphone that he doesn't use, and a slightly louder speaker (76.4 dB VS 74.3 dB on the S9.) The S9 is even more compact and bests the G7 in most every other metric.
Everyone keeps saying that but there are fewer and fewer options so how can you? I wanted a smaller phone but no one makes one aside from Sony and guess what Sony has removed the headphone jack.
So if I "vote with my wallet" and only buy small phones I have zero options for a flagship level phone that's as small as I want it, with a headphone jack and a decent camera.
These are the only phones in a size I'd like https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2018&nHeightMax=145&nWidthMax=72&chk35mm=selected&sOSes=2&sOSversions=2800
So there's 6 phones. 2 of them aren't coming to America. The Sony XA has a shit camera, The Nokia 1 is $85 so I assume that camera is a potato. The Samsung Galaxy J3 is a budget phone so I assume that will also suck. That leaves the LG Q7 but considering it is a midrange phone I doubt the camera will be any good but I am eagerly waiting for reviews. If the reviews say the camera sucks there is no viable options for what I want out of a phone.
For those of us looking for translations:
Summary:
SD 835 with 6/64 or 8/128 (UFS 2.1)
6" HD+ 18:9 screen
24mpx f/1.7 on the back, 8mpx f/2.0 wide angle on the front
3800mAh
Hardware switch that will enable a performance mode
OPs argument is that the Active is not a top-tier Flagship, so it doesn't count.
here are a list of phones with higher battery capacities; at least the first 70 anyways... 3600+
It was rumored to be A91.
But if you look at
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9917&idPhone2=9995&idPhone3=9795
The S10 Lite is just a blend of A71 and A90 and probably with a better camera with OIS
Samsung has two models of this kind. One with a single display, entry-level components and an affordable price and one model with two displays and an outrageous asking price (only in China at the moment). I wouldn't be surprised if future versions of the high-end model received a single folding display.
That's weird, his Pixel 3XL scored, around 1200 for singlecore, and around 5500 for Multi-core.
But they have different scores for the Pixel 3XL here: https://www.gsmarena.com/google_pixel_3_xl_scores_well_on_geekbench_flexes_sd845_muscles-news-32575.php
Single core: 2426
Multi core: 8355
Most measurements appear to be in line with the GSM arena scores, HOWEVER, roughly 30% of the results corroborate the scores of the reviewer in OP's link!: https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=pixel+3+XL
That is a huge discrepancy in measurements, and it's not like it's distributed evenly in the results, it's either giving the fast score or the slow score, and not really finding anything between those.
I just checked with the GSMArena compare tool(here), and most of the time I couldn't see a difference between the Note and the Pixel. Maybe you're right and it still happens with certain scenarios/shooting modes, but in the end it's still subjective whether it's a good thing or a bad thing.
Preeeetty sure it's gonna be rocking a SD636 not the 450.
And damn look at that battery size. Depending on the price it could well give the Xiaomi Note 5 a run for it's money.
Interesting that gsmarena had it down for a 3,780mAh battery. If the other specs are true then this could well be the budget-mid tier phone most are looking for:
The only downsides being a notch and varying band support.
It's about what you'd expect. Has the exact same specs as the 6X, so this is likely this year's android one phone from Xiaomi(Mi 6X with stock android)(there might be 2 Android one phones from xiaomi this year).
Reveal should be soon-ish? Given last year's time frame(1 month), it's due to release soon^TM. Mi 6X specs: https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_a2_(mi_6x)-9140.php
Then you're not looking for the ROG phone with three USB Type-C ports.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is only slightly bigger than the iPhone SE while having a much larger display and battery.
lol, the X 2015 got updated to 7.0, not even 7.1.1, but 7.0 a month after Oreo was released. And that'll probably be the final update as its now replaced by the X4 and all the different variants it comes in.
I wouldn't take any of the iPhone production cost analysis seriously. Most of those analysis us based on guesstimate. For example, the most recent analysis by Chinese based insiders put the cost of the 5.8" OLED panel by Samsung at USD$80:
> The most expensive component is the 5.8” OLED panel manufactured by Samsung. It’s price is $80 per unit which is way higher than any other part. The NAND memory, acquired from Toshiba is $45 for 256 GB. The 3 GB RAM is half - only $24.
https://www.gsmarena.com/iphone_x_real_cost_leaks-news-27293.php
Also $150 is exorbitant even for an OLED panel.
Quick google shows a $300 phone beating a 7 in some areas (processing power, battery life). Also camera when compared to iphone 6. If you spend the 3 minutes to do some quick research before making any purchase you can get a solid phone for a good price that does more than an iphone.
Being broke but not wasting money > spending 1k on a status symbol that no one cares about
Yet the 5.1mm Vivo X5 Max was able to cram one into its frame without issue despite being released 4+ years ago. That just screams bullshit on your excuse on Apple’s behalf.
They didn't promise 'fast OS updates', they promised fast security updates.
Anyway, Oreo would be coming in 2017.
Moto Z2 Play is currently on sale for $199 and with the battery MotoMod the total battery capacity is 5220mah. I'd argue it's a better deal than the Moto G7 Power, since you get
Only downside is the Moto Z2 Play is kinda thick at 11mm with the MotoMod installed, but not much thicker than the 9.4mm Moto G7 Power.
I know that the whole moto/lenovo circlejerk is already pretty strong on r/Android but, they really lied about the Lenovo z5 and its bezels. There is a whole lot of bezel that even then offical renders try to hide usually I don't care much about bezel when a company flat out lies and then lies again it pisses me off. I hope that the Moto one power doesn't disappoint but I think that it's going to be a rebranded Lenovo z5
Ye also the nokia 7 plus has similar if not the same sensors as Pixel 2 XL i believe.
What have they done to the iPhone 8+ sensor?
Either this is an error on this site, or it's a clear downgrade in quality from the 7+...
Fake:
Pic 1: The camera base and fingerprint scanner should be same color as the phone body. Plus that blue looks too dark. The CE certification is too high up the body and is too visible. It shouldn't show up that clear on it. I think the S9+ branding is also too close to the CE certification.
Pic 2: Flash looks too small. Again with the too visible CE certification. Here it looks printed on top of the material. Plus all that scratching makes it look like a plastic back, not the Gorilla Glass back of an S9.
Pic 3: Grill is wrong design. S9/S9+ grill is thinner and the mesh is recessed, not bulging up like that. Screen also looks flat all the way up to top border. S9/S9+ bas a beveled screen all around, with a slight slope down to meet the top metal frame.
Pic 4: Bezels too big. Particularly the bottom bezel. The S9/S9+ has an asymmetrical front where the bottom bezel is thinner than the top bezel. On this it looks equal. Plus the fact that the top bezel is already too big to begin with, this makes the bottom bezel ginormous. Plus at the bottom, you'll see what looks to be a significant gap between the illuminated part of the screen and the edge of the bezel, making me believe this might be an LCD screen. Samsung uses AMOLED.
Pic 5: Apart from the bezels already mentioned, font of the big clock is wrong. The clock fonts do not change even with system font changes (I think because they're considered widgets, not text), so it should not be that way.

According to GSMArena the primary 12MP camera is the same IMX363 as the Pixel 3 (most definitely without the Pixel Visual Core).
But it's Android One, has a headphone jack, after converting from Chinese pricing, the three models are at $245, $290, and $360. As for the notch, I have Denotchify I'm working on. Oreo means I could do some Overlay Management Service tricks for more reliability with the NavBar (think Substratum), though unfortunately Android Pie breaks this.
I think... I found my next phone. I'm not reading anything about NFC, but if it doesn't, I'd probably retire my LG Watch Style and get a Skagen Falster 2 for wireless payments.
Edit: Likely to be LCD, not OLED. Hiding the notch isn't going to be so nice with the backlight.
> lately. Anyone want to guess the aspect ratio of the iPhone X? 19.5:9. It's the only phone in existence with the aspect ratio that these pictures have. LOL if Google
nope, LG G7 is 19.5:9 https://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g7_thinq-9115.php

Fortnite beta confirmed.
I swear I get a lot of hate for having an Android by iPhone users. But literally none of them have ever touched a flagship android in the last 3 years, and probably have only experienced it on a crappy low-end Samsung, running jellybean. And I've found, there is always an android that does something better than iphones since 2014. Best camera? Pixel. Best Screen? Samsung. Most Utility? LG. Inexpensive? OnePlus, Huaweii,Xioami, or ZTE.
Apple is literally riding the wave of Android phones at this point. Nothing wrong with it, but damn, give these manufactures credit. Xioami was the first to do the bezel-less design in 2016 and no one knows it.
evleaks showing images of the device
FCC docs shows it coming with a 4,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 210
The Moto X2 was close to this! It had a 5.2inch AMOLED screen in the same form factor as the original Moto X! To this day it was one of my favorite phones. If we could get it back, trimmed down and with 2019 features I would buy it sooo fast.

Im so torn between upgrading to 3a from my 1. This comparison doesnt make it seem like a huge upgrade but the mid processor has to be better than the older processor right??
