I learned everything on r/androidthemes
First i use Nova launcher. You don't have to, but it helps you make it look more "clean". You're able to disable the notification bar and bottom buttons so you're literally left with nothing but the wallpaper. Youre also able to overlap widgets with Nova
For the wallpapers i like to use amoled wallpapers but you can use anything that has room for widgets. The wallpaper i used here is from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Hastamev.AmoledWallsFree
For the widgets, i use KWGT. They offer a free version and you download designers with more widgets. But i use the paid version. The widget I'm using here is by Wolfie #063 it takes time to figure out how to change colors, fonts, add things and remove things etc but it gets easy.
For the icons i used phosphor
All of that is from the playstore
It didn't appear for me in the Samsung+ app initially. I had to delete the app and sideload the latest Samsung+ beta APK from APKmirror here
EDIT: OTA download available in the Settings after registering:
You can use bxaction to remap your bixby button to "Screen on/off". You can also map a long press of the bixby button to pop up the power options menu as well if you so desire.
Works with non-root but you'll need to run a few adb commands from a computer. The app will provide a tutorial if it detects the phone as unrooted.
Download Samsung SoundAssistant. This app allows you to set arbitrary app to always output sound to specified audio sink (BT, headphones, etc) I'm not sure about BT/wired but it works for BT/speaker combination.
I purchased one of these instead. Dex Station for Samsung, USB C to HDMI 4K Adapter Desktop Experience for Galaxy Note8/S8/S8 Plus,Nintendo Switch, MacBook Pro 2016 2017 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078X9N26D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_6c.nBbN070FG8
Works really well and a fraction of the cost. Plus, I can also use it with my Switch when I travel. I was even using it today with a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.
I uninstalled my Samsung+ and installed this one manually and it let me register,
Just had the same issue, and seem to have found a working fix without factory reset. I was able to double tap the camera shortcut and get to home screen through gallery mode, so no device manager needed. Disabled lockscreen, removed all goodlock related apps and reinstalled the base app. The magic fix was installing this version of lockstar:
Hope this helps out some of you!
This was recorded by the auto mode of super slow-mo with the motion sensing box situated on the golf ball. The phone was on this tripod.
I've never used another phone tripod before so I can't make comparisons, but that thing is super nifty and easy to use. It's especially useful if you enjoy messing with slow-mo as much as I do.
Fake:
Pic 1: The camera base and fingerprint scanner should be same color as the phone body. Plus that blue looks too dark. The CE certification is too high up the body and is too visible. It shouldn't show up that clear on it. I think the S9+ branding is also too close to the CE certification.
Pic 2: Flash looks too small. Again with the too visible CE certification. Here it looks printed on top of the material. Plus all that scratching makes it look like a plastic back, not the Gorilla Glass back of an S9.
Pic 3: Grill is wrong design. S9/S9+ grill is thinner and the mesh is recessed, not bulging up like that. Screen also looks flat all the way up to top border. S9/S9+ bas a beveled screen all around, with a slight slope down to meet the top metal frame.
Pic 4: Bezels too big. Particularly the bottom bezel. The S9/S9+ has an asymmetrical front where the bottom bezel is thinner than the top bezel. On this it looks equal. Plus the fact that the top bezel is already too big to begin with, this makes the bottom bezel ginormous. Plus at the bottom, you'll see what looks to be a significant gap between the illuminated part of the screen and the edge of the bezel, making me believe this might be an LCD screen. Samsung uses AMOLED.
Pic 5: Apart from the bezels already mentioned, font of the big clock is wrong. The clock fonts do not change even with system font changes (I think because they're considered widgets, not text), so it should not be that way.

Better yet install bxActions are remap it to whatever you want.
You can remap single tap, double tap, long hold etc

Uh... Yeah? There are plenty of tutorials right here on this subreddit.
Simply put - make the phone think it's in the US for the installation of Good lock. That means:
1) remove the SIM card/s
2) get a vpn (I use ProtonVPN, it has free servers in the USA)
3) delete all cache and data from the Galaxy Store
4) reboot phone
5) tunnel into USA using vpn of your choice
6) start Galaxy store
7) Download good lock and all of the modules you want
8) reinsert SIM, get rid of vpn if you want to
9) ????
10) PROFIT

That's how I did it, I'm in Europe, Good lock works fine, Google works fine, everything is fine.
Here is how to get digital wellbeing:
Step 1: Download the digital wellbeing app from apkmirror and install it.
Step 2: Download QuickShortcutMaker from playstore and install it
Step 3: In QuickShortcutMaker, find the digital wellbeing and tap open it.
Step 4: Look for com.google.android.apps.wellening.home.TopLevelSettingsActivity. and press it
Step 5: Once into the menu, hit the try button and digital wellbeing app will open. In the app press the 3 dots in the corner and turn on usage data access to on. Now you will see some time and usages.
Step 6: Scroll to the bottom and swipe right on the "Show icon in the app list" and go back to quickshortcutmaker and hit the create button.
Viola you have just used the digital wellbeing app.
I use this: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00LKYW6M0/
It works... OK. If you apply it for 3 nights in a row, the oleophobic layer can last for ~3 months - then you have to reapply it.
One thing I noticed, is that sweat absolutely destroys the coating (maybe from salt?). I stopped carrying my phone with display facing my leg, and the coating is lasting for much longer.
This is kind of like the shoes that have integrated bottle openers. I just don't see why we need one thing when having two different things worked fine. But if you really want this, it's cheaper on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Beta-Wireless-Brightness-Adjustable-Temperature/dp/B0786FBRY3
Bixby Button Remapper so you can use the Bixby button for anything.
I currently have a single press mapped to Google Assistant, a double press mapped to open the camera, and a long press mapped to turn on the flashlight.
Install SoundAssistant (I don't know why they don't include it out of the box. It's one of the best apps by Samsung. ) Advanced Settings > Change step volume (lower = more granular)
Single press - ILoveYouBuzz
Double Press - Screenshot
Long Press - Toggle vibrate mode
Set up using Button Mapper.
ILoveYouBuzz is discontinued I believe since its no longer available on the play store. It allows me to pair with my SO's phone and vibrate it 3 times with the underlying meaning I love you. Easier than typing on a messaging app. We use it easily 50+ times a day. 4 years of using it (by sideloading now), (Also just wanted to show my appreciation of the app.)
They did that to make it easier to use with one hand. If you want you can check out Google messages to see if it's any better for you. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging or you can scroll down in the Samsung messages app to see more messages
Don't use that
I'd say go with the OEM (Samsung ones) or Anker fast charge ones
USB C Charger, Anker PowerLine USB C to USB 3.0 Cable (6ft) with 56k Ohm Pull-up Resistor for Samsung Galaxy Note 8, S8, S8+, S9, MacBook, Sony XZ, LG V20 G5 G6, HTC 10 and More https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01E9W8KYC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Z-wJBb4B3SRQ3

Try out swift installer. You can black out the entire OS including notifications and a bunch of 3rd party apps. No root or anything needed.
For those that are mad about this too, apkmirror, here's the latest version that doesn't do that.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/gboard/gboard-7-9-7-230658658-release/
Get the 5th or 6th link (depends on if you have a 64 bit cpu), then uninstall gboard, install this apk, then go to play store and disable auto update.
Should be good to go after that.
While I've got attention, anyone know how to disable the stickers/emoji/gif nonsense? I just want a fuckin keyboard not all this other shit.
I thought the ad was also a nice touch.
At least we know it's out, thanks OP. Here you go slackers 😋 https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/samsung-messages/samsung-messages-10-0-00-23-release/
The S9+ has
Screen resolution is the same.
Personally I much prefer the larger screen, so worth it on that alone.
Create an empty file called .nomedia and put it in the folder where the "video files" are. After a few minutes, Android's internal media scanner should see the file and remove any reference to the folder but if you want to speed up that process you can restart the phone. After that, you'll only be able to open up the files by going directly to the folder or by using an app like this that has an option to show hidden media.
To create the file on windows, enable the option to see file extensions then use notepad or something to make an empty file, then after you save it just rename the file and delete the extension (so if you create .nomedia.txt just remove .txt)
Using a different launcher is not even required. An application like "QuickShortcutMaker" can also be used to create activity widgets. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut
Hmm, I have it installed. Had it prior to the beta. Also have done a factory reset since and it redownload it. I can find it in the play store as well. T-Mobile S9+ in the US. I am aslo a beta tester for the Netflix app if that makes a difference.
You see this is the advantage with Android. You can essentially have any font you want that is available as Truetype font file (.ttf). I wrote a tutorial on how to do it before so I'll just copy and paste it here:
Process seems kinda long in writing but genuinely only takes 2 minutes if you know what your doing. Hope that helps.
I use Pulse Messenger as my text client. It has a web client.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.klinker.messenger
Here is how I got a font from the Internet downloaded on my GS9+:
Process seems kinda long in writing but genuinely only takes 2 minutes if you know what your doing. Hope that helps.
I'm going to give you a funny backstory for this image.
My coworker was looking for this image when the S9 came out. Turns out, this image (the phone and wallpaper) originated with the BGR review of the S9. Their review gives credit to Tapet for creating the wallpaper and hosted the original wallpaper as well. It seems that the image (phone and wallpaper) was post edited to increase contrast seeing as the wallpaper is more dull in color.
Your can download manually from APK mirror (verified APK's) here .
Apparently I'm incorrect - the resources I was looking at didn't seem to list it. I was primarily looking at GSM arena for the S9+, which doesn't seem to list it (https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s9+-8967.php). I'm not aware of a better resource to compare phone specs so concisely.
If you don't use Bixby, you can remap the button to whatever action you prefer using BxActions. I've mapped single press to Google Assistant, Double to Camera, Long Press to Vibrate, Double Press on lock to Torch. Best use of the button.
Can you fucking stop advertising that app? Its only working for the time being, when a new update comes out it will stop functioning and the dev is going to ask for more money and reuplaofing the same app under different name. It has shit reviews on play store for a reason
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elmklmsamsung.batteryaddon
>OLEDBuddy allows you to easily open an image, view which pixels are true black, what percentage of pixels are true black, and convert lower-valued pixels to true black with three tunable sliders or by tapping anywhere on the image to set a brightness threshold. Once converted, a notification allows easy viewing and sharing of your image, and even a shortcut to set it as your wallpaper (provided >= Android 4.4)! The only permissions required are reading storage, and writing storage, with no ads or IAPs to be found!
Probably the best customization I've added to this phone. The best part is that is the up to 10 remappable gestures, not just the limited ones that originally came with the OnePlus.
The only thing I'm unsure of is their hide Nav Bar feature, but I just use that function from the Navigation Gestures app by XDA.
Coming form the iPhone 6, I was finding difficult to use the in display buttons and the layout. I found myself naturally swiping the buttons up for some reason, and that's when I realized maybe I should moved to a gesture based Nav Bar. Best realization I've had about the phone so far. Chose this over the Nav Bar Pill as well as I preferred swiping up on the different sections rather than using a 'pill', even when full covering the bottom, I couldn't get used to swiping left and right. I still don't use that feature with OnePlus Gestures.
Just bought it a few days ago, and seriously its like night in day even for being in development still. Here's the link for anyone who wants to check it out
I switched to an S9 after almost 10 years on iOS, but still use my Macbook, so keeping things in sync was pretty important to me. Turns out, yeah, you keep things synced well for the most part. In some ways even better than iPhone. Here's the setup I settled on:
AirDroid for Texting from Mac / Notifications / File Transfers / etc. There's a few options for receiving & sending texts on your Mac, but I find AirDroid is the most powerful one. It's a standalone app on Mac that handles texting, can receive any notification you'd get on your phone including phone calls (though you can't answer calls on your computer), handles wireless File Transfers (so you can leave the crappy Android File Transfer app alone), among other useful stuff. You only really have to upgrade to a paid membership if you do a lot file transfers, or want to use the app to find your phone, but both Samsung & Google already offer that. The one thing that really sucks about AirDroid is it doesn't support MMS. So if you get a picture or a group text, you're not getting it on your Mac. No notification, no anything. I tried Pushbullet, Join, Mightytext, and others, but I still prefer AirDroid out of all of them.
iSyncr to Sync my iTunes Library I'm pretty insane with keeping my music organized in iTunes, and didn't really feel like looking into other ways handle my music, so I settled on this app to sync my existing library to Android. It's $10 to sync everything, but for me it was worth it. I had issues syncing via USB, so I recommend going via Wi-Fi if this applies at all to you.
I also use Firefox for browsing, Evernote for Notes, Wunderlist for Reminders among other alternatives. But that's the major stuff. Overall it's a sweet setup for me. It's not perfect, but then again neither was iOS. Hopefully that helps!
Dracos system mods for substratum has an opton to remove the am/pm plus heaps more System mods for substratum
Also this app System UI tuner removes any other status bar icon
Oh, I misread that! You can do that whenever you want to check it out by launching your youtube video and then simply pressing the home button after it begins. There are some limitations check it out here: https://lifehacker.com/how-to-use-youtubes-picture-in-picture-feature-on-andro-1827214381
As /u/murdermonkey said, this doesn't include spam protection or nearby places. This is why I don't use the patched version. Instead, there is actually an older version of the official apk that works on non-Pixel phones including the S9. You can get it here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-phone/google-phone-7-0-140861421-nonnexus-release/google-phone-7-0-140861421-nonnexus-android-apk-download/
(Keep in mind that it is an older version of the official Google app, so it has nearby places and spam detection, but it doesn't have newer features like adaptive icon, the popup in-call buttons, etc. I've been using it for a really long time, even before the S9, and it has been really stable; for some reason, the "nearby places" option in settings causes the app to crash, but the only thing in that page is a toggle to enable the feature which is enabled by default the first time you click the search box and allow the location permission anyways). /u/dieterdengler you might be interested in this version.
Edit: I looked, right after posting this comment, and found this: https://www.android.com/phones/tips/#featured
+1 to the reply about learning new UI stuff. So many useful functions are hidden to an extent, although I've only been using android since May.
I've always been kind of perplexed that there isn't a comprehensive guide for those sorts of features (or I'm just unaware of it). iOS was always pretty bad with that, although they did have a Tips app way back in the days of the iPhone 4 at least. Not sure if they still have it but, regardless, they seemed to lack announcements for the more subtle features included in their updates as the years went by.
I got the impression that, by keeping some simple tricks hidden away, they were trying to make people feel awestruck by how intuitive their software was because they'd figured it out on their own.
I've got an old set of clip on lenses I bought for my S6 back in the day from Amazon. Similar to these, but not exactly. One of them is a macro lens. You inspired me to give it a try. Pretty impressed with the results of the macro lens plus zoom (clip isn't long enough to fit onto the actual telephoto lens, so it's using digital). Couldn't find a quarter but a NIC card made a good stand-in! Check it out!
Try this, if you have room to install it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.diskusage
Maybe because that's the old name
It's now just called Good Lock. (Direct link)
It's not available in certain countries so a separate developer made an alternative called Nice Lock
I recommend switching to Boost for reddit. It has an AMOLED black theme, is extremely customizable, and can be configured so that no element stays in one spot permanently. For the amount of time you spend on Reddit, it's well worth the $2 to remove ads for the superior Reddit app.

Do you use Cricket? That icon looks like the Cricket Wi-Fi Manager app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mizmowireless.wifi
It may be pre-installed. Settings --> Apps --≥ (3 dot menu) Show System Apps.
See if you can find Cricket Wi-Fi Manager and disable or uninstall it.

This is the only app that uses the blood pressure sensor. Just an FYI, it needs to be calibrated to a real BP cuff in order to give real numbers. Otherwise it just gives percentage difference from a baseline measurement.
Check out Package Disabler Pro+ (Samsung)

I have disabled the Samsung browser with it.
*edited to link to new version of app.
Unfortunately no. I just downloaded Dark Sky and it's honestly one of the best weather apps on either iOS or Android.
Unless you really like Bixby. bxActions lets you change what the Bixby button does. I keep mine set to press once for Google Assistant, but I can hold the button down for Bixby. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.bxactions
A little offtopic, but you can try Fluid gestures from the Play Store, customizable swipe gestures :)
Using Swift Installer from play store -

And yes the Red/Black is inspired by MKBHD but I like that combo before I knew about him.

Where are these coming from? The ones I find on apkmirror are listed as https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/deletescape/lawnchair/lawnchair-2-0-698-ci-alpha-release/lawnchair-2-2-0-698-ci-alpha-android-apk-download/

THIS is what finally let me in! Here's my guide for everyone in my situation (G965U1 with a Verizon SIM). No Odin involved!
Take a look at this: https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s9-8966.php
There's a part along the top of the specifications where it reads
> ALL VERSIONS | G960F | G960F/DS | G960U | G960W | G9600
You can click on one of those and see the specs for that specific version. The one you linked (the G960U) is the US Snapdragon version.
For what it's worth, I just put on a screen protector I'm very happy with. I didn't want to spend the $40 for the Whitestone Dome since I'll get the Note 9 in a few months.
I found this tempered glass one on Amazon. It installed really simple, no bubbles and looks great. Only knock on it is it's pretty reflective but other than that, it stuck really well.

Sorry you got shafted though mate.
Just sharing an app I discovered here last week in the customisation thread, Hex Installer.
It's a new way of theming for the S9, and from the little play I've had I've really liked it. I haven't changed much, just made a lot of the UI elements flat, which to me, looks awesome...
Try this app if you want the squeeze feature back: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pocketdevelopers.sidesqueeze
Also try this app if you want to get rid of Bixby: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.bxactions
Oh sorry. I thought I was on r/androidapps.
It's this one.
It isn't exactly a slide up and down action to adjust the brightness. It's more or a slide left and slide up or down, but it works really well once you've set it up. You can also have multiple commands for different swipes.
Yes you can restore them. Search for DiskDigger on play store. I used to retrieve my deleted photos with it. I suggest that you use some kind of cloud backup from now on, so you don't get in this situation again.

I downloaded this app a while back and it seems to work fine for me.
It detects differences in signal strength and switches over. It gets a little finicky if the two access points are similiar in signal strength but with a little tweaking it works fine.
I'm not sure if there are better ones, I just downloaded the first one I saw but it's been working for me.
Can vouch for SwiftKey. Mainly use it because it learns the way you structure your sentences as you give it more permissions to view content on other accounts (optional) and the more you use it, the better it gets at predicting.
I personally really enjoy it because I like the ability to change the theme of my keyboard to match that of my launcher.
> Will the Bixby button become able to remap later?
No not through the settings, there are apps that allow you to re-map the button to other functions though. This one seems popular around here.
> How is the mic quality?
Seems fine to me and the people I've called haven't had any complaints. >Is the network connection better?
I can't really answer that, I'm on WiFi nearly all the time. When I'm not it seems perfectly fine.
Samsung Cloud - Open Gallery > 3 dots > Settings > Cloud Recycle bin. It should be automatically backing up all of your photos, if you delete any they are stored here for 15 days before being automatically deleted. You can select any photos you want and hit restore.
Google - Log in here https://photos.google.com/ , if you have your Google account syncing your photos everything should be there.
I can't help with Amazon as I don't use it.
Hope this helps.

Hi, i might be a bit late here but i had the same problem with netflix maxing out at 720p only. Until i tried several old versions of netflix where i found out that all versions up to 5.3.1 operate at 1080p and a bitrate of 5800kbps which is the highest quality possible on smartphones. But more importantly also HDR seems to work on version 5.3.1 only which is missing on older versions. I've tested this on the Galaxy S9+ (SM-G965F) and a Premium subscription plan. Hope it works on your phones as well.

Sooo looking at these comments it seems everyone has a view that it hurts your phone battery but don't have anything to actually back that up. Everything I looked into showed that it doesn't make a difference to leave fast charging on. I feel like most people that say it's an issue have ancedontal evidence to back this up, and nothing concrete that shows significant issues with the battery solely because of using fast charging
Male to male type C cables work just fine. Samsung includes the type A to C because the phone uses Qualcomm QC for fast charging.
The S9 has USB 3.1. It's not specified if it's Gen 1 or 2, but does 10 Gbit really make that much of a difference over 5 Gbit on a phone?
Edit: fixed link
Edit2: removed bad info
No, it's not as wide. 22mm on S7 vs 25mm on S9 (rear cameras are both 26mm).
It is a little disappointing, but it does mean photos don't have that slightly "warped" look, so faces can definitely look a bit better on the S9.
You could try Tasker or an automation app. These usually can control display time-out. I just don't know if it'll override your apps' set display timeout.
For example, in Tasker:
Create Profile, choose Application, then the apps you want this to affect.
Create task, choose Display Timeout, and set it to 15 seconds.
You can find a trial for Tasker on their website.
EDIT: Sadly it didn't work on the apps I tried it on that disabled the screen timeout. I think it's still worth a try on the apps you have if you have a few minutes.
This gets a little complicated, unfortunately. ☹
The AOD shows you 3–4 notification icons (plus an indicator if there are more than it has space to show). If WhatsApp could generate separate notifications with either different icons or different icon colors for different senders, you could tell at a glance who was messaging you. That's not a feature I've seen in many apps, so I'd be surprised if WhatsApp could do that, though. Absent that, you'd have to double-tap on the screen to wake the phone up and then tap on the notification icons to expand them to see who they were from.
I deal with this (in Signal) by giving important people their own notification sounds and vibration patterns. That doesn't have the same benefits and tradeoffs as a colored LED, though.
The Galaxy S10 actually had a feature available through Good Lock to put a colored ring around the camera cutout in AOD to replicate the old status LED. Unfortunately, they appear to have discontinued that in the S20 and S21. There are a few third-party programs that claim to do the same thing, but they require several sensitive permissions: they need to be able to read all of your notifications, and they need to be able to draw on top of the screen. Those can be risky to grant to untrusted programs. If I were setting this up, I'd probably go with aodNotify. I don't have any specific, personal trust in that author, but I've used some of their other apps over time to improve the functionality of my Samsung phones. (Plus they have what I consider to be a reasonable monetization method: basic functionality is available for free, all functionality is unlocked by a one-time payment, and there are no ads in either case.)
You can download this app and use the refurbishment check to know if the phone is original or not and also check how many times the phone has been connected/disconnected from a charger. You can also check the connection info in the Personal tab of the app.
One more thing, if you having difficulty finding the folder with the . in front of the name, you can use Total Commander which by default shows folders that are named like that.

If you drop your phone often and want something with grip and protection from drops I love the Speck Presidio grip case. I've had it since my GS7 and its been my goto forever. Only $20 on Amazon right now https://www.amazon.com/Speck-Presidio-Samsung-Galaxy-Black/dp/B079DD1B4Z/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1542221979&sr=1-4&keywords=speck+galaxy+s9+plus
My BP Lab. I'm pretty sure it was a test run of the new sensor tech. If successful they planned on putting it in the Samsung watches, I believe. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.sagebionetworks.research.bp
There are a handful of options out there but the one I use occasionally is called Snap Mod: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.gavinliu.snapmod
You can set your default phone as the frame and then insert a screenshot of your phone or whatever else.
Im not sure if anyone knows that Samsung has a one-handed gesture app...which is like very customizable..and free Edit:heres the link

Yeah - not having a passcode will definitely make it easier. Basically you can connect the phone to an adapter that allows you to plug the phone into a TV - so you can see the phone screen on the TV since the screen on the phone is broken.
Here is the link to the adapter that I have - I can confirm that this works on the Galaxy S9. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C6NBZG5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ql-cFbGRMM3VZ
Keep in mind that the phone will need to be charged sufficiently and powered on before proceeding.
Now - when you connect the phone to a TV with this adapter you may need to press the power button to wake the screen. It also may show a padlock icon on your television - if that is the case you can plug in a USB keyboard (standard computer keyboard) in the adapter and press the "Enter" key.
After the phone is past the padlock screen - it would normally prompt for user input on the phone screen to setup a feature called Samsung Dex - you'll want to just press the "Escape" (or maybe labelled "Esc") key on the connected keyboard a few times to dismiss the prompt.
Once this is done the phone will be im screen mirroring mode - so you'll basically be able to see what would be on your phone screen on the television screen. At this point if you connect a USB mouse (standard computer mouse) to the adapter you will be able to navigate the phone.
From here you can follow instructions widely available online to backup your data. There is a plethora of data backup solutions available to choose from.
A few data backup/transfer tools to consider: Samsung Smart Switch (if you are going to another Samsung phone) Google Photos Backup to Google Account Carrier backup services (Example: Verizon Cloud, AT&T Mobile Transfer, etc.) 3rd party backup apps (search for backup on Google Play store MovetoiOS (Transfer to iPhone)
I use DiskUsage. It's an older app that'll visualize where the data is being used, like WinDirStat or SpaceSniffer on PC.
Sometimes, for me at least, some apps cache takes up huge space or some downloaded podcasts from whatever apps and this helps me find it real quick.

This is super cute, and I've had the same problem before! What I end up doing is using this app to export my texts with someone (format doesn't matter) and read them outside of the text app entirely! Best of luck!
Ok so here's the resources:
Widget- is from Java for KWGT #J98 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=javaforkwgt.kustom.pack
Icons- kamijara from playstore
Wallpaper is from Google Wallpapers, look under 'life' it's the 2nd one- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.wallpaper
Edit: guys I'm sorry. Im so used to posting on r/androidthemes lol
So to achieve this or any homescreen you like you have to use Nova launcher or a different one, along with KWGT. There's free versions of both.
If you have any questions, r/androidthemes or r/kustom is where i learned everything

I've been using this since yesterday and so far so good. Definitely use a PC to get the full potential of this app (you'll see what I mean when you open the app). Also I ignored all the comments about the .exe being a trojan in the Play Store reviews
I use Samsung player (The old app version, with colours) and this app, as you said that you use offline music:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
It adds a photo cover to the downloaded song (if it doesn't have) and it's free. Also it adds some description to it. It's really beautiful seeing your music list with covers :)
Take a look at Autonotification, that will do what you want and the feature you need is free and stand alone. You will know its good as it is made by the Dev behind Tasker.

You can try this app that I use: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=netroken.android.persistalternate
It allows you to automatically set different volume profiles for different devices, locations, etc. I'm not sure it would differentiate between different pairs of headphones, but you can create a profile that will set the volumes to certain levels when something is plugged into the headphone jack.
Just tap the home button while on the home screen and it starts the search immediately.
This can be installed from the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dynalogix.voicesearchdirect
That's one of the advantages not needing to sideload anything or fumble with ADB commands giving special permissions.
I saw this:
Hello. We are very sorry for causing you such inconvenience. This will be fixed in next 7.4 beta version which will be released at the beginning of July. Samsung internet will provide an option regarding this. Again, we are very sorry, and will do our best to provide you with a better browser. Thank you for your interest in Samsung Internet.
