For your lock screen issue here is the answer: >Settings > Quick Settings > Lock screen and security > Secure lock settings > Secure lock time > Instantly with the power key or when the screen times out
And it comes to notifications, Android handles them with the help of led above the screen. It blinks in different colors for different apps. But if you don't like it you can download an app called glimpse notifications which does what you are looking for. Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Hey just thought I'd let you know, AOD is fixed in nougat, and displays 3rd party notifications. once that final release is pushed you will get it!
I got irked with the lack of screen light up with lots of notifications too, so I've been using an app called Glimpse Notifications which fixes this issue perfectly!!
Welcome to the galaxy family, friend.
Also, nougat brings a LOT of improvements and new features which you will get in the next month or so (I'm on the beta) rejoice for incoming awesomeness!
I recommend this app a lot, love it on my S8+. Built into some skins of Android already, this app has a few features like waking the screen when you get a notification, raise to wake, pocket mode.
USE GLIMPSE

its minimal and triggers for about any apps assigned color.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
Both of these should get you more of a stock Android/iPhone notification experience. What I've found is that the stock apps will wake the screen and most 3rd party apps (even Gmail) won't. Out of the apps that send me notifications the following wake and go to the lock screen
The only other app I have that sends me notifications is Gmail and it won't wake the lock screen.
You can also control in the notification settings how much detail each notification shows (I.e. just tells you about a new message or shows the detail of the message)
There's no notification light or led on the s10.
you can make screen flash or camera flash when a notification, but will for all notifications. In accessibility setting , go to advanced you'll see notifications to flash camera or Screen when receiving a notification.

I think you are talking edge lighting.

if so, try glimpse <strong>https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US</strong>
I use the app Glimpse Notifications for this. Has been working pretty well for me and there's a lot of deep customisation of behaviour you can do.
Only I can suggest one app that will work for any app only if you set it right and take 9 minutes choosing apps or less
I can do it in 2 minutes or less.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US follow instructions then look on menu for whitelisted apps and choose what you want.
That woke up the screen for me when I got a message. I have never been able to get icon badges to show up with or without a number.
There were some things about Glimpse that I didn't like so I quit using it. I just made my notification sound very loud and obnoxious and turned on vibrate.
I was also able to get Edge lighting to light up when I get a signal notification by using this app. Edge lighting
I recently factory reset and haven't gone through the hassle of getting all the stuff working again.
Glimpse Notifications works well for waking your screen as soon as you get a new notification, and it lets you keep your stock lock screen.
I think I can help you out, my friend. Try this application out: Glimpse Notifications.
Should do exactly what you're requesting.
Fixed that bad design problem with this app... works like a charm (found it based on a recommendation here):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US&gl=US
I gave up and used glimpse notifications app that assists edge lighting. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
my issue solved.
Use an app called glimpse notifications to have it light up off or on screen. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Any apps works on it. Adaptive power savings setting and all turned on in device care battery options. Best I can do. Have a good day.
Use this app and choose instagram in the white-list app and it will light up.
And for ANY app you have glimpse notifications https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
all i can offer.
That is correct, AFAIK, only official samsung apps are supported in Edge Lighting on the lock screen not just Whatsapp.

I recommend using this if you want notifications to wake the screen: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
glimpse https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
you can now in 4 minutes any apps
apply it. judge it later.
wdhe lighting works all the time with the help of an app called glimpse.
Any app.
default only messaging and phone works without another app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US thats the solution
I believe somebody mentioned this app in a similar post.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
How are you liking the phone compared to your Pixel? I'm considering making a switch from the Pixel 3. Anything other than the camera make you miss your Pixel right away?
I and hundreds are not getting waking screens, and the other half wishes it would not wake screen.
As far as edge lighting you have setup and have selected ALL apps and set a type of lighting, 2 will light edges that are phone and messages.
I suggest one app called GLIMPSE to make all apps edges light up. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse

Take a look at the Glimpse app. I installed it today and it does exactly this. Notifications now light up the screen when it's turned off.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
To show the details instead of just icons, then go into your phone settings - lock screen - notifications, and choose detailed.
Use edge lighting and get this app to have most ANY app show notification on the SCREEN.
GLIMPSE https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US

This only flashes the screen when your phone is on. Tried with AOD on and off, it does not wake the screen like OP (and me as well) wants.
edit: Found an app that does exactly what OP wants: Glimpse Notifications https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US it even has a mode to auto lock your phone when you put it in your pocket, very cool.
I used this one with my S7 but it charged too slowly. It was ok for most stuff, but when I used nav the phone would drain the battery faster than the charger could charge it. Obviously, I wouldn't recommend it.
For the notification thing, you can set notification preferences for each app. Slide a notification slightly left or right and press the settings icon. Go to more options. From there there is an option to hide sensitive info on the lock screen. Have to do this for each app separately I think though.
As for the lock screen thing, you want the screen to turn on and show the actual lock screen rather than the white on black? I know you can do this in Tasker, but I feel like there is a setting or app for this. I'll check.
Edit: try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse for the wake on notification thing.
Be sure to disable edge lighting notifications, as it won't wake the screen,. It instead give you a short bubble popup with the screen off, and it makes glimpse and other screen wake apps very wonky.
Afaik your phone needs to be rooted for Secure Settings to do what you want (somebody correct me if I am wrong).
Alternatively, you could install Glimpse and set it to activate your phone as soon as you unpocket the phone.
Does the Easy Cap viewer create any kind of notification? I use an app called Glimpse Notifications to wake the screen whenever there's a notification. You could try and see if Easy Cap would set it off automatically or if that didn't work you could create a notification with your tasker task and set it to disappear after a second or so, by which time the screen should be on. Hope you figure it out!
Hey OP, I've literally been scouring the web for days concerning this issue and it was annoying as fuck, especially since iOS/WP do this feature as standard and I've moved from there.
Thankfully I've found a free app that will actually wake your screen when you get an notifications for apps you select. It's called Glimpse Notifications.
It doesn't require root access or anything, you just allow it to read your notifications, then select Whatsapp on the app whitelist...then voila!
At least this is a temporary measure until Google/Samsung/Whatsapp get their finger out of their ass.
If you're used to notifications turning on the screen, like an iPhone, use this It doesn't have any significant, or even noticeable battery drain and will boost your effective SoT.
Glimpse Notifications is specifically for turning on the screen for notifications. You can whitelist (or blacklist) the apps you want to appear. I've been using it on my LG G4 since I've had the phone.
My mistake, I read your original post incorrectly. The purpose of Ambient Display apps is to turn the screen on for x seconds every y seconds. After a quick google search I found this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
I havent tried it but it seems to be what you are looking for. If that doesnt work just google "wake screen notification android" and it gives a bunch of apps. Good luck.
u/machine2Strong I found a great app that allows the notification screen to wake up when you get a new notification.
Disable Peek Display and enable this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
I get what you mean exactly, the only thing glimpse does is it forces the lockscreen to wake up when you get a new notification.
So what you need to do is as follows:
This app needs permission to check notifications and perform some accessibility stuff. This might seem scary at first but this app has no internet functionality and only performs the advertised function. You might need to enable some other settings that I forgot about here but the app will tell you. If everything is set up you can run a test notification. Make sure to quickly lock your phone to check if it works.
This works best in combination with the quick star good lock module to "show notifications by last update."
This ensures your most recent notification will always be given a preview on the lock screen.
Good Lock can be downloaded here: https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.goodlock
I have used it for 8 weeks or so now. I've seen no notable effect on battery usage.
Let me know if this works for you and if you need any other help.
Yeah on going issue with Samsung One UI OS Was hoping there was a work around already. I was using this below app Glimpse Notifications on my previous Samsung. The app gets really good support on XDA below link also. Guess I'll have to install it again of just live with it
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-glimpse-notifications.3090575/
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en\_US&gl=US
Samsung just does not support that kind of "display wake" function like iPhone r Pixel Phones. But i can recommend u "Glimpse Notifications" its free and does what u need and want.

If the heads up notifications aren't showing, try this app
Hi there!
The realme 6 doesn't got an amoled display, but an ips one, so it doesn't support it.
But you can use third party apps like Glimpse to add several interesting functions to the phone.
Hi there!
That's because realme 6 don't have an amoled display, but an ips one.
I suggest you to try Glimpse notification in order to have some of the functionalities of the Ambient Display mode.
There is
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
This app does this without any issues. Coming from iOS i was very annoyed with androids lack of screen wake up for notifications functionality, so this was probably the first thing I researched and this app is the best solution
Glimpse Notifications - my phone will wake the lock screen on new notifications, but at minimum brightness. Glimpse does it properly.
Android 10 has issues with all launchers including my nova prime, but I might suggest glimpse notifications until Google sends a fix or led me know app that I use. You're choice. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anker.ledmeknow

You could try the Glimpse Notifications app on the Google play store. It's made to have your notifications pop up like you are looking for. Might be worth a shot.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Utilise glimpse notification https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US and after setup look for whitelist apps the select any apps you have. This enforces edge lighting. Have any edge lighting theme set first if you like. Its an automated setup and a small app
Use this app glimpse notifications https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US as it makes edge lighting cooperate. And any app on device can be set in the app. Uninstall if you dont want it.
Theres a cure for that

glimpse notification <strong>https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US</strong> and it will make any and all app in device to light it up. VERY minimal in size and works along with standard edge lighting or plus.
Free. Uninstall if you dont like it. Not complicated. It completes where edge misses. Using for a year. just use app selection in app and add messages and any other.

minimal app to have any existing apps on device to light up all the time. ANY apps.
The first issue I don't have, the second issue I can't help with because I don't use the default EMUI launcher and theming apps/services. I could help you if you used a custom launcher like Lawnchair or Nova launcher which both have options to change icon shapes to circle, teardrop, square, etc, and are both the best launchers on Android IMO, I prefer Lawnchair a bit over Nova. Also don't blame theming issues or launchers being hard to use on Android, this is designed by Huawei.
Yes, most music continues when you close the app on Android, and this is how it's supposed to be, Except YouTube stops when you close it.
This also isn't really a feature by default on Android, you can use Glimpse Notifications for this.
You can disable PiP in app settings for Google Maps.
Have a look at this app. It gives a clear notification for any apps you choose by turning the screen on.
Used it for years without any problems.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
As already mentioned. Download Glimpse Notification from here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Your notifications will turn on the screen and show you the full notification if you've got the option selected already.
Glimpse notifications allow any app to light up where other apps fall short and isn't complicated. It aids edge lighting. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
Screen off or on, and aod too.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse

install, pick any apps, no extra steps, and minimal effort.
Works with edge lighting and no extra screens added to work.
i use this, the best solution to fix this problem.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en
Try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Works perfectly for me as long as you can live with the fact that you won't get app specific color notifications as the phone will base the notifications on the fact that glimpse is turning on the screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
give it a shot abd choose messenger too in whitelisted app in glimpse

that's about it.
To get iPhone/Stock Android like notifications (full width banner with details), I had to do this:
Those are the only apps that I have notifications from. There is an app called Glimpse that will overcome the issue you are seeing and give you a lot more customization.
USE GLIMPSE
its minimal and triggers for about any apps assigned color.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
I installed the Glimpse app today, and it accomplishes exactly what I've been looking for. When the screen is off, notifications will now light up the screen. Give it a shot.

Give it a shot and see if it works for you. Good luck. Here is a link to the app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
PS : I hold no association to the app or the developer. Just trying to help a fellow Redditor.
Good luck.
I just use edge lighting
I can't get screen to wake.
I use glimpse to at least show lighting. <strong>https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en</strong>
IT will show most all apps lighting.
I feel you, ... Samsung does not have a Display Wake up Function like, iPhone r others. The AOD is a replacement for that. There is no way other than this App "Glimpse Notifications" to a solution ...

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=de_AT

I use Glimpse. Works well and doesn't use much battery/CPU.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
You can get that functionality using Glimpse Notifications. It will show a brief notification, similar to what you'd see if the phone were unlocked, and then it goes back to AOD.
Not exactly the same but Glimpse Notifications or Notific might somewhat be what you're looking for.
If you want to use the Edge Lighting feature on apps that do not work with the screen off, like when you are on the AOD screen, get the "Glimpse" app from the play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en It is a free app (I have no connection to this app or developer). The app is free, install it, go to "App Selection", check whitelist, and select the apps that do not work currently with the edge lighting, back out and you are done. This allows these apps to "wake up the screen" (no the screen does not light up). I added Bluemail, and CNN alerts which prior to selecting them in Glimpse, they only worked with the screen on, now they work as expected, with the screen off. This does work in Android 7, I have no idea if it works in 8. I had seen a few posts that mentioned this app doing this, but I didn't think it would be this easy...
I used This App when I had my Nexus 6, no idea if it works on Oreo and stuff, but it activated the screen, when a notification came in.
Re: raise to wake. I just switched to an S8+ from iOS also, was really missing that feature and I found this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
It's not perfect but works pretty well and from what I can tell doesn't really use much battery.
If you mean to have AoD turn on only when a new notification comes in, that is unfortunately not available. It doesn't even work properly when attempted via Tasker.
I use Glimpse Notifications to have the lock screen activate for a few seconds: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en
I missed this feature as well. (AT&T Note 8). As far as I am aware, there are no settings regarding this.
I installed Glimpse Notifications to enable this, and I've been pleased with it.
I'm trying to get used to the Always on Display for this phone after moving away from the normal notification light. However on my work phone, I don't want to use battery for the AOD so I found this app that will force wakeup the screen for notifications.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Hopefully this helps.
i just got this phone a few days ago and coming from the V10 with its always on second screen for notifications, not having any screen on drove me nuts
i ended up installing Glimpse https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse which has lots of options for how to handle this, and it works great. you can specify which apps to screenon for, how long to screenon, how often to re-screenon if you want, and also set up pocket/dnd detection so it doesnt turn on when you dont want it to
Ambient Display was too sensitive for me. I'm using Glimpse Notifications to basically just wake the screen when I get a message. iOS style.
I'm so glad they did that, I liked the idea of a B/W notification display, but the darn thing always woke up whenever I touched the phone and then activated the screen and yada-yada. I had it disabled and used Glimpse Notifications to just basically wake the screen (color) for notifications.
Old post, but did you experiment with any of the suggested apps? Ambient Display is buggy for me, but I would like the display to just temporarily brighten up for notifications.
I'm thinking of trying Glimpse Notifications.
Ah, I forgot that Lollipop removed the wake on notification. I hadn't tried disabling ambient display personally and though it just removed the nudge to wake up (and the triple wake up).
I found this app, which I haven't used, but has been recommended to bring back this feature: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
I use the stock lock screen but added Glimpse Notifications and have been pleased with the results. I did similar and tried others but none really work as well as the stock.
Edit: add link
Try an app called Glimpse Notifications, it does exactly what you want by briefly turning on the screen when you get a notification

The most important app when you have a Samsung. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
I don't know how Samsung doesn't have this built-in.
I think glimpse may allow you to achieve this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
You need a 3rd party app like Glimpse Notifications.
What about "Ambient display" (you can enable it in Settings) or Glimpse Notifications (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse)?
I disable AOD and use Glimpse Notifications for this exact purpose
You can do it using this app, please turn off edge lighting

or edge lighting app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flysoft.panel.edgelighting
Glimpse Notifications will do the job, but i'm not sure about battery draining.
If I'm correctly understanding what you are talking about, Glimpse Notifications does the job.
Take a look at "Glimpse Notifications" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Something like this maybe? Not sure if it works.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
This unfortunately isn't possible natively in the phone. You'd have to get an app like Glimpse Notifications to do it.
Notifications don't light up the screen on the S9.
You need to install this app, and give it the permissions it needs.
Use Glimpse for notifications. You can set how long it stays on screen. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Sounds like you need Glimpse Notifications
I'm using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse Free, no ads, no issues so far.
Checkout Glimpse Notifications
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
perhaps something like this?
There are a bunch of apps that allow you to have that.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lukekorth.screennotifications
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.silverfinger.wake
Glimpse Notifications is a far simpler app (for waking screen) and also requires far fewer permissions to use.
Give this a try. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
> Because I can't always hear the vibration alert in my office, is there a way to have notifications turn the screen on. Would I need do download a program to do so?
Certainly. Glimpse Notifications does exactly that. Some versions of Android (mostly stock/near-stock) can do this with Ambient Display (also called Active Display on Moto devices), which utilizes AMOLED screens to display notifications without sucking so much battery.
Glimpse Notifications does exactly this. Turns n the screen for a moment when a notification comes in.

Some other options that might help in certain circumstances:
Flash the camera light or screen when you receive notifications or alarms: Settings > Accessibility > Advanced settings > Flash notification
Settings > Notifications > Button pop-up style > select [Brief] > Brief pop-up settings > Edge lighting
If you have a certain app that you want to be able to interact with as soon as you get notifications from it: Settings > Notifications > Advanced > Floating notifications > select Smart pop-up view
I use glimpse notifications. I don't think there's an option built into the phone. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse

This is a better option than Edge Lighting in many peoples opinion.
Glimpse Notifications. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Install this then.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
You're welcome
problem solved. No promises on accurate drain levels. both fine with me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse is perfect for any app to light aod on or off. using it 3 months.
if you feel bold do camera ring notify. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.holeylight
Have you tried Glimpse Notifications?
Full disclosure: I'm the dev of this app and I'm kinda biased :-)
There no feature like it as no LED.
TRY ONE OF THESE that works.
first one lights screen edges screen off on ANY APP you pick.
second uses camera ring to light up and stay lit.
Yes. I've used it on both my S8 and S10. It's free so have a look.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
yes. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US glimpse
or camera rim notification https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.holeylight
both works for ANY apps.
I think it was this one.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Edit: My bad, I think it stopped working with Pie. Or at least not as well as it used to
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US that will get all apps to work. no two lockscreens give it a try. makes edge light work all apps.
Install Glimpse and see if that's a good workaround for you.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
other than edge lighting which only works on certain notifications, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
select what apps to show for edge lighting that arent showing or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.holeylight seems complicated but lights colors around the front camera.
I cant give support on either
takes some time to understand these and setting up each
good luck.
Try a free Play store app called "Glimpse Notifications" and white-list all the apps you would like to wake up the screen. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Try a free Play store app called "Glimpse Notifications" and white-list all the apps you would like to wake up the screen. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
I don't think you can do this with the stock software but others have mentioned using Glimpse Notifications
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
You can use glimpse notifications. Been using it since Oreo and works like a charm.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse

Coming from an iPhone, I was going crazy until I found this
Quick and easy solution is to just use Glimpse. Does exactly what you want and more.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Someone else suggested this app and its working for me so far

Glimpse Notifications: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
I always used on app like 'glimpse notification' https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
I just wish now on xz1 it would be available.
Try this app out. Wakes your screen for any notification you like
I used Glimpse Notifications on my LG G4 to do this, it worked flawlessly.
FYI found a way to get a similar kind of screen on my Moto Z. Glimpse Notification https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse Always on Screen https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pt.me.fayax.alwaysondisplay *You have to set Always on Screen to stop the app when you get a notification (it resumes eventually). If you're having problems try fiddling with Moto Display. Depending on Marshmallow/Nougat you have to set it to either on or off. and if you have a problem with wireless turning off I use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ratcash.wifiperf (I don't know if this actually does anything yet, but seems I don't have as many Wi-Fi drops).
This is VERY close to WP Glance & Notification.
Glimpse Notification works pretty good for me, but I'm not sure if it works with a non-stock lockscreen. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
You can try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Haven't tried it myself though, so can't give my opinion on it :-)
Apps like this turn on the screen when there's a notification. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
Try glimpse notifications ,https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
See if this helps, its on my wish list but as I'm a flashaholic nothing gets installed long enough to see decent usage from it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
This gives a better user experience with lock screen notifications on Galaxy phones.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
yes
called glimpse.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_US
works to get edge running on most any app.
One app will fix all that fast. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en
Its a minimal footprint on resources too.
View notifications without interacting with the phone. essentially the same functionality iOS has when receiving a notification. Android is unusable for me without this tweak: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse
