> Some claim that puts materially more stress on the battery than leaving it on the charger at 85%.
That may be but I mostly go by what I read here How to charge when to charge and I don't dig that deep into the "chemistry" so I can't really comment on the above. (there are other helpful pages about LiIon care on that site and some deep dives for those that care to dig down)
I think the main takeaway should be don't leave it on the charger at any voltage. I don't know enough about the charging circuit in chargers and the charging circuit in phones to weigh in on that with any authority. I don't get all hung up on it since I only charge to 85% but I take it off the charger sooner rather than later.
Your battery works the hardest to charge that last X% (think blowing up a balloon) so I avoid that range. I rarely need to go all day so my phone gets lots of partial charges and I don't charge above 85% unless I know I'm going to need it.
When I travel I carry a little battery bank that will charge my phone twice. It costs like $20. If my phone is getting a bit low, say 15 or 10 percent I plug that in.
If you login to the Spotify website and go to your account page, there's a Redeem option on the left pane (or dropdown menu on mobile). Or direct link: https://www.spotify.com/us/redeem/.
Hope it works for you.
This was happening to me and driving me absolutely crazy! I even factory reset my phone to try to fix it. I finally realized that it only happened when my VPN was active (I was using Mullvad). Never did figure out why.
Thank you for this kind of thread. These are always helpful. I relied heavily on these kinds of threads when I switched from iPhone to the S21+ last year.
I have the S22+ now. Having a kickstand on my phone case is an absolute must for me. I found a great case for the S21+. The case was made by Torras and I had the clear case. Now I have the Torras MarsClimber. I bought the translucent black color and I love it. It's a slim case but feels very high quality. It has bumpers on the corners for shock protection. The kickstand is solid metal with a very stiff hinge so that it stays in place and so that you can put the kickstand at an angle. The case felt somewhat slippery for the first hour or so but the case feels very grippy now that I've used it for about five days. Overall, I think the case in this translucent black looks much better than the clear. In addition, I have add glass protection to the screen and to the lens and this case does not interfere with that glass layer. If you need a slim case with kickstand, I highly recommend the one I am using. Link below.
https://www.amazon.com/TORRAS-MarsClimber-Shockproof-Protection-Translucent/dp/B09KH3JY77?th=1
I use this one from Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-S22-Samsung-Gritup-Shockproof/dp/B09VC3GXM8/
It's smooth but it's not slick - it doesn't slide out of my hand like the phone itself (without a case) does. I have a magnetic mount in my car so this has been perfect for me. The magnet panel on the back is strong. Much stronger than the sticker magnet that came with the car mount. I also love how this case separates the volume into 2 buttons on the side. Plus it was very inexpensive for a good case.
>735 nano I
Any thoughts on wireless ones, like this one?
The battery indicator is basicly lying when below 15%. The phone will want to shut off early to save the battery from draining completely (which harms the battery) Also it's not recommended charging above 85% if there's no need for a completely full charge (which also harms the battery).
Shame on you for gaming on 8% charge in the first place.
there's no automatic shutting on and off, but you can use Modes and Routines to automate battery saving
I use an app called aodNotify - Notification light for Samsung. Despite the name, it's more than just the notification light. I have mine set so AOD is off... unless there's a notification.
These do 25w fast charging perfectly for my Samsung phones and tablets. And it charges Rapidly for Pixel 7 Pro too.
Ailun USB C to USB C Cable 10ft... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N3ZNFJL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yep, quick uninstall. I removed the permission and it stopped working. Can do all of that with FNG by swiping on the right side of the screen, probably with One Handed Operation + too.
I dont know if its the same one as his but I use Internet Speed Meter Lite. I use these settings: enable notificatin, seperate notifications, seperate usage. Note you do need to allow notification access for it to work. Otherwise you can use the floating widget. Hope this helps.
if you install this then you can select open app action inside the bixby routine to assistant app and it open the google assistant it is not seperate assistan app i think it just a app for accessing the assistan cause there is no other way to open assistan without voice command
Apparently the fast charging charges the battery in almost the same time as super fast charging which I don't understand since 45 watt vs 15 watt is a huge difference but according to tests it's only like a 10 min difference. I would suggest buying a USB C cord that has a watt reader built in similar to this. It's actually really cool being able to tell exactly what wattage it's charging at.
Yeh apparently all the shit goes straight to DCIM folder and google photos app doesn't differenciate subfolders Camera and Screenshot. So everything uploads.
However you don't have to do it manually. There is an app for that:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kidscrape.prince
It runs in background and it can moves screenshot automatically to a desired folder outside DCIM.
Then go to Settings, Display, scroll down and enable 'Touch Sensitivy'

This one has been working great for me. As instructions said, I did re-register my fingerprints after installing.

If that's not what you're referring to, try out Buzzkill: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samruston.buzzkill
I think so. It's been stable for about a week now.
What I think did the trick was setting the phone to prefer 4G. I'm on Verizon which locks out that setting but there's an app, Samsung Band Selection that can get you there.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.samsungbandselection
The app is half broken after a recent update, but the "more network settings" option still works and from there you can access preferred network and switch it to 4G.
But I preferer closed source ones - check Utopia p2p decentralized ecosystem. I consider this application a full-fledged alternative to the Signal. Moreover, the developers have finally released a mobile beta version. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=is.u.utopia This is a new page in the development of this application. And for all users interested in data security, this update will be useful.
It's on the Play Store for me, but not in the Galaxy Store. Weird.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.android.app.music
But for alternatives, I'd recommend VLC as another poster mentioned.
I've used the Torras case for a couple of days but ended up replacing it with Caseology Nano Pop because of the smaller camera lens cutout on the latter.
I've always been partial to the kickstand cases. Easy to pop open on a long train or plane trip. I got this case - it's clear so you can see my phones color (white), plus it's got the kickstand which I like
ESR Metal Kickstand Case... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09LCR7NRF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Those are nice cases, but it's such a large phone that I decided to get a Pop Socket Slide Stretch.
It's admittedly pricy, but it has made a world of difference in terms of my comfort holding my s22 ultra and being able to use it with one hand easily. Since it slides I can have it centered or I can slide it to the bottom and I slide it to new positions frequently depending upon the app I'm using and how my hand is feeling.

I've had this since February and have never had any issues.
I've used this one since I got the phone in February. I still actually have the original one I installed. No glue, easy to line up and apply. First time I've ever done it without having bubbles! I've never had any issues with the fingerprint reader other than when fingers are wet or something else.

I'm also on US mobile. Just switched from a pixel and really miss having voicemail integrated into the stock dialer. Pre installed Samsung VVM app doesn't show up in the apps list so I downloaded this and it's working in that app.
I think I remember Smart Switch does the thing with backing up whatsapp chats and medias, but not 100% sure. There are some softwares you can run through trial time to backup your whatsapp datas from your iPhone and put them in your brand new S22 Ultra. You can also try Wutsapper (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wondershare.wutsapper.android), the app should also exist in iPhone in my mind, they say the transfer can be in both direction, Android to iPhone and iPhone to Android.
You could give Sideactions a try.
You'll need to plug your phone into your computer and run a pc program to enable full access, but it should allow you to do what you want to do.
Also I found that this wallpaper makes it more fun to switch over to android. On my usage log It states the wallpaper only take up like .8 of a percent of my battery. Since it's a black background it's not to power hungry... totally worth it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=games.paveldogreat.fluidsimfree
Also download Goodluck and mess with customizing the device.
Try this. It helped me out a whole lot. A lot of equalizer apps sound like garbage, but this one works great. I'm just using the R&B preset.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jazibkhan.equalizer
You can use Activity Launcher (free and open source software) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher search for telephony.mobilenetwork and launch it.
You should get to this, which I think is a native Android page: https://i.imgur.com/AFiYD7P.png
Try opening Gmail on browser, then in the search field, type unread. You will be directed to your unread emails. In the options, save the page / add the page to home screen as a shortcut.
You should have a link like this
https : // mail.google.com/mail/xx/xx/xxx/#tl/search/Unread
S22 base use Spigen Neo Hybrid: https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Hybrid-Designed-Galaxy-Case/dp/B09JFPJ3FX/
The case looks curved but it's actually flat.
This comes with regular screen protectors and for the camera. I have used it since early March and like it. I have replaced the regular screen protector one time but it comes with 3. It was easy to install both.
try the following:
disable 5g
block anything you dont need to run in the background from running in the background. go to battery settings and view what apps are using the most battery... if any of them can be restricted... do it.
clear your cache. https://www.tomsguide.com/how-to/clear-cache-galaxy-s22
if that doesnt work, then yeah... try to start fresh and dont use smartswitch. idk why samsung fucked that up so bad.
instead of a battery case, get a small battery bank like this one: https://smile.amazon.com/Anker-Ultra-Compact-High-Speed-VoltageBoost-Technology/dp/B07QXV6N1B/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=portable+charger&qid=1656357468&sprefix=portable+char%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-4
they are more versitile than a case cause you can leave it behind when you dont need it...
I have this one by LecLooc which works with my S22 Ultra in my car.
Caveat: you mentioned "headset"; I haven't tested a microphone with this adapter, but I found 1 review that said the mic worked with an S21.
I bought these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PF8Z6LB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for $5 back in 2020. They work with s22 ultra. I also have no issues with Bluetooth connection with galaxy buds + and live.
I've been using this guy with whatever 3.5mm cable I have available for a couple of years. Works great if you're not opposed to dat dongle life.
Dunno what you budget is but I bought this and have been happy with it. Fast charges, small, pouch to carry it plus wrist strap, reliable brand.
I got a three-in-one wireless charger for the desk I spend most of my time at. I set the phone on it anytime I'm sitting there and charge my Samsung watch end-of-night as I'm winding down. I can even lay it on its side and continue watching video and have it keep charging. I've found it to be really convenient for my setup.
Something like:
https://smile.amazon.com/Wireless-Charging-Station-Foldable-Qi-Certified/dp/B09TW8WT9F/ref=sr\_1\_3
https://superdisplay.app/ seems like what you're looking for.
Alternatively I found this as well but it looks a lot worse https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sunnysidesoft.VirtualTablet.lite&hl=en_US&gl=US
Or you can use any remote access software like Chrome Remote Desktop/UltraVNC/AnyDesk to control a PC that has photoshop running from the phone itself and do it that way.
I have the only option for the base S22. It's expensive at $39 for a two pack but it comes with a lifetime warranty. If you want true Tempered Glass for the base22 the only option is the Whitestone Dome if you want your fingerprint to work flawlessly. A lot of people will have a lot of opinions but I have tried a ton and nothing comes close. It works 99% of the time with the fingerprint scanner. See the link below. The only ones that really work great are the UV liquid glue on type and Whitestone is the only one that makes it for the Base 22 and 22+. That's just the way it is right now. This vid will show you what I mean.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Q8RBZBS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_GJF2TB8JKT4JP49Q92X7
Good luck.
>ibywind
This one?
https://www.amazon.com/Ibywind-Protector-Samsung-Including-Install/dp/B09P81SJ37?ref_=ast_sto_dp
No fingerprint issues?
I got this one, it works well and has £5 off at the moment making it quite cheap. don't know if you can get it in India though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/INIU-Portable-Flashlight-High-Speed-Compatible/dp/B07PPS1RN9
You'd create a profile to activate the flashlight when "shaking" the phone. It's not exactly like the chop, but it's similar.
If you want to try it out before buying the app, they offer a 7-day trial version on their website. Here's one example of how you could set it up. I tried it out a couple weeks ago and it worked well, but didn't keep it on long enough to see it was prone to accidental activations.
Yes, that is the OneTouch model not the AmFilm Ultra Glass model. The AmFilm Ultra Glass works great. It's a UV glue applied true Tempered Glass. Just like Whitestone. Unfortunately they only make it for the S22 Ultra not the Base or S22+. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Q8RBZBS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_GJF2TB8JKT4JP49Q92X7
I think that the fingerprint detector is a little sensitive because I did have to reprogram the fingerprints once the screen protector was on. Works fine now though. I bought these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SYMWL6F/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_dl_1F7CCY5AHY4EZ4MR210S
Just got this and I really like it! The kickstand doubles as a way to easily hold your phone one handed

These ones. Can't even tell it's on. Doesn't affect fingerprint scanner at all.
This is what I use since I added mag rings to my phone. Works pretty good as a wallet, phone holder and phone stand too
MOFT The First Snap-On Magnetic Stand & MagSafe Wallet for iPhone 12 Series and iPhone 13/iPhone 13 Mini/iPhone 13 Pro Max (Night Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08P6SVDQB/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_MNWK8NPJCVPCT91TVSV4
Not the same as a popsocket, but take a look at the sinjimoru magsafe wallet. It holds 3-4 cards and includes a finger loop which gives good grip for one handed use.
The downside is the stand is only functional in landscape.
Works for me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B099JZD87B/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_FVBHGDF0C5M49TQ34JF1
so I did find on amazon that they both sell the case without and with built in screen protector.
You are right about the fingerprint scanner. I read the reviews on the built in screen protector version and a few people mentioned that the fingerprint is bad with it
I wish I would have known that the Mous cases use a proprietary system that is not MagSafe compatible. I bought their 3.0 case only to find out it doesn't stick to my MagSafe accessories. I also had also bought GALAPPLE Magnetic Clear Case on amazon and it was the worst case I have ever owned. Really really strong magnet though. But the case was so rough on the edges and it was really slippery.
I have been searching for MagSafe compatible cases on Amazon for quite a while now and cant seems to find a good looking one. I think HikerClub just added this case not too long ago and it doesn't look too bad. I just ordered it so if anyone wants to know how it is, ill update when it arrives.
Been using this one since I got my Ultra
I have this one and like it. If you're tapping the screen a lot while it's sitting on the kickstand, it can wobble a little because the edge is circular, but otherwise works better than the others I tried. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B3DHB87
adding to the list... the mic might be an issue.
possible damage to the mic?
Like debris? glue from a screen protector? case overhang?
try recording on your phone and listening back to the result.
there are also some mic test apps than can help test. Like this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=lauresprojects.com.mictest
If you have S22U or S22+, why not try Deco XE75? It is obviously more money but potentially more future-proof, I think. I will replace my AC68U to a WiFi 6E router when I can get a good deal on Asus 6E router and ditch my cable internet provider to T-Mobile Home Internet.
Good luck with your testing new setups.
The one that came the closest feeling to glass and worked with the FP sensor well that I found was the Amfilm Hybrid. It feels close to glass and is cheap and easy to install. It attracts dust and fingerprints pretty easily but so do alot of non glass protectors. But it worked great.
I wanted a clear case too but wanted to avoid the yellowing. No matter the brand, yellowing always happens on TPU material so if you get a clear case that has TPU-like material on the bumpers, those will yellow for sure over time. That's why I got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid that has a clear, hard back but a black matte TPU bumper (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09JFSCLDZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). That way you can still show off the color but not have to worry about yellowing.
I have an Otterbox Prefix (it's an Amazon exclusive style) and I absolutely adore it. The case has a clear back and colored edges with one of the color options being the same green as the one on the phone. It also comes in a pure clear with frosted edges as well. My favorite thing about the case is the raised edges that really offer great screen protection and it's compatible with most screen protectors as well.

Something like this can get the job done nicely.

Gonna name a more obscure name, TORRAS, they're the only ones with a nice, frosted case with a kickstand, aswell as one without. Also, very good customer support, got a replacement next day when my kickstand broke.
i just bought this - https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B09X57V6PH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
it is very good. fairly accurate. however i have a case which has a front frame so it squeezes the protector a bit. but if u had a normal case..it would work perfectly.
fingerprint scanner works...but it is a bit less sensitive
I had initially thought of getting the Silicon Cover w/ Strap, but now that I have this Torras MarsClimber for my green Ultra, that will be some time. It's gorgeous actually, even has a nice stand that's sturdy enough for standing on both portrait and landscape modes as well as stands on the flat bottom part without the stand! I have taken some crisp night time photos just with this stand. It has decent protection as well, though I don't intend on doing any drop tests, intentional or unintentional. The back is translucent and the color shows through, looks nice!
Love the case i bought for the wife and myself.. Poetic case. Definitely robust enough to make me feel comfortable carrying such an expensive phone. Also using an amfilm screen protector and although it's expensive and a pain to install it is very nice an lives uo.to the hype.
Torras MarsClimber

I don't think I'll ever use one that doesn't have a kickstand again. It has been so convenient, It keeps the screen and lens off surfaces, it allows me to watch things more easily, and when I hold my phone I tend to stick it out to cradle it in my fingers better.
No worries, without kickstand. More specifically the Tough Armor without Kickstand. Like this:

i posted this last time and i just got downvoted. the output I can charge my laptop that requires 65W. Anything that can give out 45W should be able to charge at super fast charging 2.0 speeds
Amfilm Tempered Glass Protector. This and Whitestone Dome.
It's really a brand by brand thing with the tempered glass ones that impede the fingerprint sensor. These have absolutely no issues with the sensor and are what I use, with and without touch sensitivity on.
For the charger I bought this to use it with my phone and my MacBook Pro, and it works great.
USB C Charger, EHO 65W GaN II PPS Fast Charger Adapter, 3-Port Foldable Compact Wall Charger Compatible with MacBook Pro/Air, Galaxy S22/S21, Note 20/10+, iPhone 13/12, iPad Pro, and More, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0983M3616/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_HGBYR5GSXXWK9ZVX55KY
Yeah I upgraded to the iottie iON Wireless Duo CERTIFIED BY GOOGLE (the dark grey one only, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08M47CM2L/) and I got the 15W just fine. I gifted my old ones to friends with iPhones. Wired charging is definitely much faster but the convenience of the wireless charging is too good, especially with the stands so you can look at the phone while it's charging to see incoming notifications and such.
I'd recommend installing GSAM Battery Monitor for monitoring your battery drain. I checked the battery graph for observing my screen on to active comparison, and then both View Time Held Awake and View Num Times Waking Device for narrowing down potential wakelocks.
Adaptive brightness is supposed to learn if you manually adjust the slider when it's too bright or too dark. I can't find documentation stating that, but it's an Android feature, or at least is was. Leave adaptive brightness enabled and adjust the slider as needed when the display is too bright or too dim. It will learn your preferences.
Here's the Lux app, but it looks like it hasn't been maintained by the developer for a while now.
I found it annoying starting on note 20 that you couldn't tap an app on the AOD screen to go directly to the app, you had to tap, then go to another screen to swipe.
I found you can circumvent and correct this mistake Samsung decided by using a 3rd party lockscreen. it doesnt seem to work with all, just some.
I've only tested a few so far, but the one in the video is:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wafour.widgetweather
as a lockscreen it sucks, but as a fix to quickly get to your important notifications, it's do-able. hope to find a better one soon
Would these work? I've seen people link them, but haven't tried it myself b/c people say the magnet can cause a deadzone for the Spen.
I have a 256gb model but I have numerous ram issues with 128gb model because the 128 version has 8gb ram and 256 has 12gb ram.
Also the system files alone in my phone storage says 33gb plus apps based on number of apps you have.
My suggestion would be going for 256gb, hopefully Verizon could waive restocking fee for you sometimes asking for it nicely could work.
In case you decide to keep the 128,gb, then have the dual usb stick like this one one handy so in case if memory is full you move it quickly also these usb stick go on sale during Thanksgiving mostly around $10-$12 for 128gb version I have multiple of these as I have been using it since 2015.

How well does the Peel case do in regards to fingerprints? I know they're pretty much inevitable, but I just returned my OtterBox Prefix because it soaked in fingerprints and held onto them as if it were designed to.
I use this case. It has a sliding door that protects the camera lenses. Another benefit is phone doesn't wobble when lying flat.
I got this since day 1 I didn't want to take the risk again
Coming from a Note 10+ I realized how easily these curved screens break and it was hella frustrating because my previous flat screen phones took the hit a lot better.
For my Note 10+ I also didn't get a screen protector because I believed it would not be necessary Insert clown makeup my decision though because the shop employee insisted.
Thank you. I got a usb-c flash drive and took all of my files and pics off my phone already. I have 0 issues with downloading and setting up apps fresh. Gives me time to mess with the phone. This thing works great. Not a fan of the burgundy color I got but it was the only 1tb available, so I got a skin too.

This one worked really well for me. I found installation to be fairly easy and the fingerprint reader works pretty well also. You just have to be sure to follow the instructions. I got it right on my first try, but I've installed a lot of these types of screen covers though.
Use these, it will hide that mark and protector the lens.

I haven't found anything like the Rhinoshield. You can use Samsung's frame cover as a bumper without the back but it doesn't provide much protection for the screen and camera.
I eventually landed on the Spigen Ultra-Hybrid, which has bumpers and a clear back.

This one from u/Spigen is amazing. GaN 45w Super Fast charger for less than the Samsung one, plus it charges my laptops. My S22 Ultra is plugged in to it as I type this.

No, as I wrote that is still the OneUI stock launcher. Theme Park (Good Lock module) lets you change the icon pack, the one I'm using is the OneUI Circle from the Play Store.
Two questions...
Did you use Samsungs SmartSwitch app to transfer everything over to your new phone?
Did your previous phone have an SD card?
If so, the "other" portion that's now occupied on your phone might be all the data that was transferred from your SD card that was on your previous phone.
You can install the app named "DiskUsage" by Ivan Volosyuk to show a map of all your occupied storage space to help identify what is using up storage on your device.
Apple, Samsung, and Google official adapters are all white. I wanted a black one and ended up with this which is surprisingly high-quality.
There were lots of other opinions when I posted this same question if you want to check those out too.

Came with a usb c to usb a adapter so you can run your heaphones with mic through your PC. Works decently with high res tracks from Amazon, Apple, Tidal, etc.
