Not sure it would be much of an upgrade considering how the specs on the axon 7 are better than or equal to the z17.
The lack of 3.5mm jack input is a deal breaker for me.
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8677&idPhone2=8067
It is not. Play the test video and tell me if it ever gets above 480p.
https://www.netflix.com/title/70136810
Now, it still looks good because it's still a tiny screen overall with a good panel.
I use battery usage shortcut for screen on time.
It's just a shortcut to the default android battery manager, so it's tiny and doesn't use extra resources.
I personally noticed a huge clarity improvement and can hear noticeable differences when using the same headphones and listening to the same audio. Hearing certain details I've never picked up before.
Atmos itself sucks and I just leave it off since music sounds way better without it. I use this bass booster to give me the desired bass boost (allows you to just increase bass without fiddling with mids/treble of you want) and combined with the DAC I couldn't be happier from a mobile device.
I haven't had any issues so far with any apps not working with the DAC. Some people have reported some issues but nothing to report on my end.
I also don't get any buzzing when listening while charging (headphones at work). The Bluetooth audio also sounds better than my previous devices on my car stereo.
TL;DR: audio is awesome but Atmos is useless.
The app I use is Background Video Recorder.
I use an sd card with my a7 when recording everytime I go out to drive. All the videos then automatically get uploaded to Google Photos when I'm connected to wifi. The quality is very good and is easy to distinguish the license plate of the car in front of me. Google Photos does some heavy compression for videos that are uploaded, so I only delete old videos from my device (> 1 week). This setup has been working pretty well.
I am also aware this will reduce the life of the battery, and I am perfectly fine with that as I've bought several battery replacements. My hope is that each one lasts 8+ months before having to be replaced.
So I think it was a Google play services bug.
Instead of just doing: apps>Google play> uninstall updates... Do it to the play services app as well.
Then go here and update: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms
That has seemed to fix my issues...
Please confirm.
Do not use ES File Explorer. It went to complete shit in late 2015, like when Cheetah Mobile bought QuickPic.
Use Solid Explorer or FX File Explorer instead, or possibly other options recommended by XDA members like Root Browser. I switched to Solid Explorer when it first happened, gladly paid for pro after the trial, and never looked back.
This is on the stock rom B32 for A2017U.
Stats:
Axon 7: 61% 2:56 am
Axon 7: 58% 9:03 am
This was from using NapTime by Francisco Franco, the god of XDA.
Edit: FYI requires root.
You'll want Magisk, instead of Chainfire's SU. It has a built-in selective hider to bypass SafetyNet without disabling root for apps that actually request it (like AdAway). It also has module support.
Follow the bootloader unlocking process on the Axon 7 XDA forum, but replace the installation of SuperSU with Magisk.
I've bought a couple of sets of the Anker adapters. Never had a problem. They have the Benson Leung seal of approval. He's the Google engineer that fried his Chromebook Pixel with a cheap USB-C cable and has been testing cables on Amazon ever since. I won't buy a cable he hasn't reviewed.
Not worth it. I purchased this one on amazon:
And it didn't work with my Axon 7, so I doubt the one on Aliexpress will work as well. There aren't any compatible Android apps for these things to work with. ZaZa Remote is named quite often for these 3.5mm IR devices, but I've never had any luck. The 3.5mm IR devices don't ever seem to be recognized by the apps. Maybe it depends on which version of Android you run, because people say these work on only a handful of Android devices. Those of which are unknown but the compatibility is mostly for iPhones. Android doesn't play well with these things.
Believe me, I've done my research because I miss the functionality of having an IR blaster when I owned an S4 and have been trying to find ways to get one on my Axon 7 but there's nothing.
Use an app that checks for SafetyNet to test for this as this is most likely what they are using. This can be tripped in many ways, most common way is ofc rooting or unlocking the bootloader.
I use this one here.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vpals.apps.safetynettestapp
I think the best one to show off graphics is Real Racing 3. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ea.games.r3_na
Just beware as you progress it will really press you for microtransactions like most big free games. I personally prefer Asphalt 8 for more interesting gameplay. But Real Racing 3 has better graphics.
The stock battery app is useless for telling you what's draining your battery. I don't even bother opening it any longer.
Download GSam and let it run for a day or two, making sure to enable the extra battery stats via ADB (it explains how to do this step by step in the app), and it will tell you, at least MORE accurately, what is killing the battery.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm&hl=en_US
I can also confirm that Nintendo 64 emulators work decently on it with a little tinkering with the settings. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mupen64plusae.v3.fzurita&hl=en is the best I've found. I was able to use a Xbox 360 controller and a OTG cable to play it.
I'm not trying to insult you sorry if it seemed that way...it's just a fact that its max resolution is 480p. It's not something that is subjective. 480p is objectively worse than 1080p.
See this thread: https://community.zteusa.com/thread/12372#52827
If you still don't believe and wanna test it out yourself here is Netflix's test video which displays the resolution in the corner in text which changes as the resolution changes: https://www.netflix.com/title/70136810
This is what I did:
Install Magisk (flash in recovery, then install from Play Store)
Install the Viper4Android module by going to the "Downloads" section of the Magisk app
Install the Viper4Android app. The apk can be found by tapping on the Viper4Android listing in "Downloads" in the Magisk app (NOT in "Modules"). At this point, apps like Spotify which natively support an equalizer should work with Viper. Other apps however, like YouTube, probably will not.
Install this Magisk module by flashing it in recovery. This should make apps like YouTube route their audio through Viper.
Things to try if things aren't working:
I am definitely not an expert, but this is the way I figured out to get v4a working without changing SELinux to permissive.
I ordered this one: Amazon Link and have been very happy with it. I tend to guard my phones with my life, so I don't know how it does practically, but I like the feel of it and trust it. Also, since I like to watch videos on it, the kickstand is a feature I wanted.
The Axon7 has a curved glass screen so most tempered glass protectors only cover the flat portion of the screen. Even the plastic screen protector that comes with the phone can't curve to the Axon7's screen curvature (leaves a gap on the long edges).
I use the delta shield screen protector. This protector is bigger than other screen protectors and it can stick to the curved screen. It is a wet application protector so be careful when installing (cover all the vents!). A problem I saw on amazon is that it doesn't play nicely with tight cases because the protector reaches from edge to edge. I solved this by cutting the delta shield by 0.5-1mm on each of the long side before applying. Now it fits nicely with the spigen case. When I first wiped it with a cloth, I notice there are scratches but they disappear after an hour. So their claim that the plastic "heals" itself seems to be correct.
Download Geekbench, launch it, tap the 3-dash menu in the upper left corner and it should tell you the memory.
Mine is the A2017G and says Memory: 3.98gb, so it'll be interesting to know what you have.
Yeah it was a strange choice not to have any always on screen features to go along with the amoled screen.
Speaking of things that DO make use of the screen's ability to stay on and use virtually no power, I use a stopwatch that someone posted here that is a good replacement for the built in google clock's stopwatch functionality. I can leave the screen on for an hour and the sreen will use no discernible power with the stopwatch running.
I'm not sure what Extra would be... but this is the app that I use to see the breakdown of what's taking up space on my Android devices:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.diskusage&hl=en
Disabled it along with the majority of the pre-installed apps first thing when I got mine. There are dozens of better keyboards on the play store. Minuum is my personal favorite.
Def worth the minimal trouble.
-Improved battery life.
-With SSD Boost (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.puandr.boost) my phone is wicked fast. Zero lag.
-no bullshit battery manager.
Only negative I can think of is losing stock camera. But camera isn't fantastic anywho.
Hi, I got the same issue since the update Android 7.0. The stock phone dialer can't be used to call directly from apps like Maps or whatever. The only solution that I found is to use an alternate dialer. Some people would go with ZenUI Dialer from Asus (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asus.contacts&hl=fr) Personaly, I have gone with Google Phone with a patched APK from XDA : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-google-dialer-t3557412 Works fine since this morning. No issue detected. Hope that ZTE will fix it later with a patch.
I'm not noticing any lags in Chrome. I'm mainly using Pyrope browser on the Playstore (based on the Lineage Gello browser) which is more optimized for our (Snapdragon processor) and also provides the option for dark mode while browsing.
If you're still experiencing lags, you can also try another profile: XANA balanced, Zhana balanced or one of the other balanced profiles will be less laggy. The XDA link provides tons of helpful comments and user experience for the various profiles. A great thing about the app is that you can apply the profile and test out it out in Chrome immediately :)
For better SOT, try also applying black/dark themes to apps, which draws less power on the OLED screen. I'm using the Swift Black Substratum theme which is compatible with Android 7.1: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brit.swiftblack.layers
Apply it in the Substratum app choosing the v7_1 version. I've not noticed any problems using the theme so far but the app is unfortunately paid though.
EDIT: Changed link to swift black instead of swift dark.
Usually around 5 hours of screen on time. That is however with loads of WiFi/data switching and low signal moments because of the long traveling I do each day.
This is what happens if I stay on a stable couple of networks for 2 days.
Edit: This screen is part of the default Android power manager. ZTE decided to hide it and implement their own instead. You can open the default power manager with this.
It's just a shortcut to open the default manager, nothing else.
I'm not quite sure why they did what they did. You can download a battery monitoring app, or use the stock one. It still exists and shows screen on time, you just need a shortcut to it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jaredharen.batteryusageshortcut
For now, I'm using this to give myself a tiny overlay back button:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appspot.app58us.backkey
There's supposedly some stuff going on behind the scenes for the A7 to get an officially-supported version of CyanogenMod (see jyee's comments), so longer term, that's what I'd be planning to switch to. Once I'm rooted and have a custom ROM, adding Android's offical on-screen buttons should be simple.
You grabbed a really old version. The most recent is from April 23rd. Here's the XDA thread. twilighttony (the maintainer) should be able to update it again as soon as his area recovers from a recent flooding.
There are some options, such as the ASUS Zenfone 4 Pro...
https://www.gsmarena.com/asus_zenfone_4_pro_zs551kl-8783.php
5.5" AMOLED (1080p), dual speakers, Snapdragon 835, great camera, 3600mAh battery.
The rumored Samsung Galaxy C10 is supposed to have an even larger AMOLED screen and stereo speakers...
https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_c10-8718.php
The current and forthcoming Huawei Mate 9 & 10, P9 & P10 also offer stereo speakers and decent screens and specs. The Mate 10 is supposed to offer lots of crazy AI stuff too with a dedicated AI processing component (probably support for running deep learning networks - the things that power Google's self-driving cars - on the device).
I bought a custom printed axon 7 case from aliexpress : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-ZTE-Axon-7-A2017-case-Unique-and-3D-cartoon-custom-made-painted-back-cover-case/32692236977.html (no referral, not my shop).
Total for me was $8.21 shipped. Took 1 month to deliver. It has a very slight texture, and you can vaguely see the printing lines if you look closer than 2 feet away but it isnt bad. The image slightly goes down the sides but not much, see image and where the white part is. I spoke to the seller and sent them my image and they sent a mockup, so this specific case isnt for sale, as it was custom. I just got it today, and am fairly happy for the price, only con is that the side buttons are hard to press, as the free gel case covered them and made plastic buttons, this case doesnt cover them and has no buttons so the buttons are hard to access because they are inward.
It looks like you are using the wrong GAPPS. You need to use GAPPS for ARM64 since the chip in our phone is 64 bit.
Try downloading THIS one instead.
There's hardly any tools required. You can do it with what's around the house.
This project was the gateway drug to small electronics repair, so I bought a kit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q6GF47N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_ASG7P13B5HCBKB960Y49?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
All I used was the guitar pick things, the plastic spudger (the plastic stick with a flat end), a hairdryer (not included), and a screw driver. The battery is glued into the phone so the most stressful part was peeling it out without bending or puncturing it. A silicone flipper/spatula would work excellently, but that's where I used a guitar pick (to start) and finished with it and the spudger
I got The Cameron Sino battery from Amazon, but the reviews are pretty awful. This E-YiiviiL one has better reviews and comes with the tools you need: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SG54LJH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_AT6A5AWJVM8CZ7Q7JXNF
Honestly they're all about the same, and they'll all probably come at like ~90% battery health on AccuBattery, but it'll be better than what you have and it's a lot cheaper than buying a new phone.
This vent mount from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019D29Q32/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Doesn't have a problem with the weight of the phone. Been very happy with it.
I use this screen protector. It only covers the flat part of the screen and leaves a noticeable gap between its edge and case edge. Something I had to get use to. At least you get 2 and its under Amazon Prime. [2-PACK]-Mr Shield For ZTE Axon 7 [Tempered Glass] Screen Protector with Lifetime Replacement Warranty https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GCIO12Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_RAOszbMKYBJ6W
These Ones that I saw on this sub a while ago from amazon do the job well, basically the only sticky parts are the edges and they go from edge to edge with non of that ugliness.
I wonder if it needs more power? You could try using a powered usb hub maybe, but I've never tried that on a phone.
Also if the drive is formatted as ntfs, it won't work on Android without extra software (which may require root). Ntfs isn't natively supported on Android. Apparently Paragon makes something that might help: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paragon.tcplugins_ntfs_ro
Thanks.
Could you also run this from a terminal to get the fingerprint?
getprop ro.build.fingerprint
(or use this app -- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evozi.deviceid)
It should match this:
ZTE/P996A01_O/ailsa_ii:8.0.0/OPR1.170623.032/20180815.171922:user/release-keys
Bit of a longshot but there's an app called system UI tuner
I have 8 now, but on an LG V20
But who knows, it might work on Axon 7. Give it a shot
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I just installed the Kiwi Browser for its night mode, as I hate being blinded at night by regular Chrome. Setting night mode contrast to 101 = black pixels turned off on OLED. This browser feels insanely fast and the night mode looks incredibly slick on the A7's screen. Between Kiwi's ad/script blocking and night mode, my battery life is even better than before. Best phone I've ever owned.
I was able to change the IMEI number back to stock! I used this app along with Xposed. Thank you for suggesting to look on the box for the number!
If you want you can also download an app called Greenify, and you can hibernate all the apps that aren't important to you or aren't messaging apps. You wouldn't want to hibernate any messaging apps such as What's app, FB Messenger. You also wouldn't want to hibernate any apps that you get regular notifications from, for example Twitter, Facebook, Reddit or any news apps. Greenify is easy to use and it has directions that are easy to understand and the developer is awesome. It helped my phone run alot another and I get around 5 1/2 hrs screen on time on average.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
I use this app and I used to have this problem with it. At first I thought it must be the power saving policies. Disabled all of it for this app but it didn't fix it. I found the solution: I have to disable Dolby Atmos. When I do, the app runs flawlessly. It's weird because it's the only audio-related app that I use that doesn't like Dolby Atmos for some reason. I don't mind it since Dolby is one of my quick toggles :)
So yeah try disabling Dolby when you use your music app to see if that fixes your problem!
I've never had a problem, but I use a great 3rd party app (alarm clock xtreme) and I've excluded it from all the power saving.
Do you have developer settings enabled?
If so check "OEM unlocking" that should be disabled. And "USB debugging" that should also be disabled.
Did you have the phone RMAed or second hand? Because if so it could be possible that the previous owner has already done the damage. Try using a safety net detector such as this one to see if that is what the issue is. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scottyab.safetynet.sample&hl=en)
If you haven't done anything and really want to buy gem best bet would be a factory reset to eliminate the error.
there's also an app that replicates the systemui menu, along with some additional functionality
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
ive been using it and havent had any problems, though i'm only using it to hide bluetooth and nfc icons, havent messed with the other stuff
now if i could just find some way to get the damn T-Mobile out of my notification bar id finally be 100% happy without having to root
Check how well your GPS is working with this app. Try resetting and downloading your A-GPS state from the menu.
If your GPS still doesn't seem to be working then you'll have to try Factory Resetting your phone. Check with that app again. If the GPS still isn't working then most likely your unit is faulty and you should contact ZTE about getting it repaired or replaced.
Have you tried using an alternate dialer to the default? I recommend Eyecon. It automatically adds photos to your contacts... and will display numbers even if they aren't in your address book.
Awesome, and just to confirm, I could unlock bootloader and get TWRP installed, then update to 7.1.1, and then finally install SuperSU to root?
Personally I'm not a huge fan of Atmos myself as audio seems almost muddy through my headphones. Atmos is definitely amazing with the phone speakers though.
As for customization I'm probably SOL then, Nova is what I currently use but doesn't support themes. This is what I'm looking to use. I had purchased it previously and used it on multiple devices and I really, really miss the blacked out GMusic and Gmail lol.
Edit: Woo! Just found out that if I'm rooted I can install Substratum and get themes for that which would eliminate the need to go custom ROM!
Netflix HD needs more than Widevine L1. It also needs to be certified by Netflix. It's a double whammy.
Download DRM Info from the Play store to see if they added L1.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidfung.drminfo
I'd personally wait until they have a stable version. But don't give up hope on it in the future as the Snapdragon 820 is fairly powerful.
I am using a n64 emulator myself. It works great https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mupen64plusae.v3.fzurita
Tinkering with the settings I am able to play the original Paper Mario and a bunch of other games.
If you cannot write to the phone or keep getting errors when installing SuperSU,BusyBox etc. then try running these commands inside a terminal emulator. You can also use adb shell to do this or the terminal built into TWRP.
*su *reboot disemmcwp
This will first grant you root access (you have to have installed SuperSU first) and then enable you to write to the systems protected partitions. Thanks to /u/spacemanvt for reminding me to add this. More will be covered in my upcoming guide.
That doesn't really help, you need to show us the screen on time. You can access it by installing this shortcut and clicking Screen. It should show the screen on time.
Alternatively, use GSam Battery Monitor.
It basically would provide other apps the API to manually control the camera, and also yield RAW images for post-processing. While the ZTE Camera app does have manual control over the hardware, it does not provide the system with the same functionality as you can test for yourself using this app.
I REALLY wanted to say that the Axon is as good, or better than the HTC 10.
Fact is, it isn't, especially night shots.
https://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone1=7884&idPhone2=8067&idPhone3=8782
Oh well... I am saving $20, getting slightly better battery life (up to 4 hours apparently based on that website), a better screen (with the risk of higher screen burn-in), a larger display and better speakers.
What'd you move on to?
>How do you use your axon 7? Where did you get a good battery?
Go on Amazon, you're looking for a Cameron Sino battery, type Li3931T44P8h756346.
Here's a link to the one I used recently, went from less than 1hr SoT to 3-5hr upon switching it out.
DO NOT buy any battery that isn't Cameron Sino, others are prone to the 50% battery bug, and horrible misreporting of battery capacity and charge level. The CS batteries seem to be the absolute closest match to OEM batteries available today.
There are no bugs as far as I can tell. I don't use daydream, and for my camera I use the Google camera app. If you don't use daydream, I recommend upgrading. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/
It still works, but it's a little choppy. I'm not sure if it's the app or my phone. My Axon is on it's last legs.
Here is a link to download the apk: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/plex-inc/plex-vr-daydream/plex-vr-daydream-1-4-0-61-release/
https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_6-9109.php
Read. And btw, 1+ phones NEVER had expandable storage (obviously, I'm not the one that hasn't heard about the brand). And yes, I've actually "heard" a OnePlus 6, and it's your typical mediocre audio implementation like any other phone. A friend of mine has one, and he uses an usb DAC with it btw. That should tell you everything. My axon 7 sounds almost as good as the dedicated usb DAC. And you know the best part? I don't have to have another device plugged in my phone just so that I could have good audio. THAT was the Axon 7.
oh i see, well ill wait till black friday. right now im looking to buy from here https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-ZTE-AXON-7-A2017-Qualcomm-Snapdragon-820-Qual-Core-CPU-4G-RAM-128G-ROM-5/32715538523.html?spm=2114.01020208.3.21.GNx6Cb&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10065_10068_10000007_10084_10083_10080_1... they claim that they will cover the tax and shipping costs and there is a 1 year warranty with refunds included
afaik you can't delete gapps. but you can wipe the phone and install lineageos without gapps.
If you need their cloud messaging or location services - there is microg to replace that. (https://microg.org/)
You would want to use magisk for root, and just an FYI when you install magisk it will reset your phone (or you will have to reset it can't remember which) so back up anything you don't want to lose.
What you want to do is use tuliptool to back up your recovery and boot images, then flash the tulip twrp recovery, and then (if you want root) flash magisk using twrp. Supersu I could never get to work so I used Magisk.
I'm not sure. I flashed the non beta zip on xda, and formatted data and reinstalled everything. Is sytemless a module?
I don't think you have to do anything to root when you install magisk, it has its own root built in. It says here in the thread:
Hello, welcome to the official Magisk Release / Announcement thread! Installing Magisk will give you ROOT, a super powerful Systemless Interface, Magisk Modules support, and hide from tons of integrity tests like SafetyNet!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
What I did do was install some module that lets you change the device fingerprint to an 'approved' one, which supposedly would allow you to pass safetynet, but that didn't work. I only tried the axon 7 fingerprint because I figured that'd be the closest to the axon 7 mini, but maybe I should've tried more before I went back to stock.
I had that problem but installing the Magisk Beta (16.4) it was fixed. Idk if it will work for you, but its worth a shot. Keep in mind you may have to downgrade your Magisk Manager to be compatible with 16.4
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589
Sorry, forgot importantly you need Magisk! https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Just flash that and should be good. You may need to enable SU Hide in Magisk Manager. Congrats on getting it working!
To be able to install netflix you may need to clear the cache for Play Store.
You can remove supersu root within the supersu settings. Believe it's labeled "Unroot" or something like that. Then download Magisk here and flash in TWRP.
> https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/xiaomi-safetynet-fix-t3600431 > This is the Magisk Module that does the trick.
Great guide! Managed to pass the SafetyNet test! My only trouble was that the linked fix wasn't in that link anymore.
I couldn't get Magisk 12 to work either, however the Magisk 13 beta works fine:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589
Make sure to uninstall any existing Magisk Manager first, then install the latest build of both Magisk and the Manager.
With magisk, it looks like it can be done. It calls itself a universal systemless interface but lets you modify system props and "Allows you to do any system (vendor) modification" so I think I'm getting confused with terms here.
That's a relief. I wasn't so sure, since it seemed a bit like uncharted territory. Do you know this from statements that Google has made publicly, or from the content of their contracts with certified partners?
I would just use this site as a guide on how to switch everything over from an iPhone to an Android device:
https://www.android.com/switch/
You should be able to move your photos into Google Photos and your contacts into Google Contacts no problem as well. Do make sure to turn off iMessage on your iPhone though because if you don't do that before switching phones, you won't get any text messages from other people that are using an iPhone to message you.
No root required. Make sure to hit the refresh arrow in the top-right corner.
You can also just download the browser from the creator's github directly: https://github.com/anthonycr/Lightning-Browser/releases
It could be the charger or the cable. I think both may be garbage because other people have been experiencing this tio. My axon7 is still in the mail but I already ordereda new charger and backup cables from Amazon. There is a qc 3.0 charger on Slickdeals right now for $8.50 https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/226659 and it's pretty easy to find 5 or 6 dollar braided 6ft USB type c cable on Amazon just be sure to look at the reviews to make sure it's not a bad design .
I bought a replacement from Amazon, and it works for me, hopefully it will work for you if you decide to go with it https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerPort-Compatible-Qualcomm-Certified/dp/B077HFFLMS/ref=sr_1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1545943545&sr=1-4&keywords=quick+charge+3.0
i bought this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IPO3PJK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
along with the plastic screen protector that came with it i never had a problem.
yeah my screen on time was pretty poor.
Android has a notification log by default. It usually has most of the important info , like what app and what time the notification was sent. Depending on each app, it may also display the content. Notification log is hidden by default, you can search the internet for ways to open it. Luckily, it's available in my app AxonApp as well.
Just 2 games that come in mind.
Marvel Strike Force - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foxnextgames.m3&rdid=com.foxnextgames.m3
Age of Magic - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playkot.ageofmagic
I can't see these games on the appstore in my phone.
The home screen is made through the use of klwp and a preset which iirc I got from r/androidthemes. It's a really powerful customisation tool on Android for wallpapers however requires an extremely steep learning curve - you should definitely check it out though if the above spikes your interest.
No, you don't have to install the Daydream app; you need to install any VR app you want to use (obviously), and the Google VR Services should be installed.
Low-persistence mode isn't part of them, though: it's implemented (or, in this case, it isn't) at the system level, and backed by hardware.
Without root or something similar, the only way I've seen is with some sort of persistent notification that doesn't have an icon.
For example, I have a clipboard manager notification that shows what I have copied and a history button. No icon. Somewhat useful. And a clean status bar.
Other apps like Textra offer a persistent quick compose notification that would work, too.
Replace the battery. It's like $50 on Amazon. I did about 7 months ago, so worth it.
I also recently converted to Honor View 10 after I dropped my Axon and couldn't get a screen repair quickly enough; I'll eventually replace the LCD and keep the 7 as a spare.
There's some bloatware to get rid of on the HV10 and the speaker placement is kind of lame but over all the UI and specs are great. 128GB internal plus expandable is legit. I miss the heft of the Axon a bit since I have big hands but the I'm not mad at the HV10 at all. Oh and it's hella cheap, ~$420 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BBQYCNW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_W361CbW4115GY
AFAIK, you can't really do a full backup with the stock rom. You can use apps for backing up certain things (google automatically backs up a lot already (its in settings - make sure to double check), there are apps for backing up SMS).
I have this one and it charges my phone 6 times from 0 to 100. It does qc3.0.
It might be heavier than 8oz though.

I got the spidgen case, it's good and it isn't expensive, good for someone on a budget.

I've used these for about 3 years I'm on my second pair only because I wanted the updated by 4.0 versions. I wouldn't recommend using them for jogging because your sweat will likely gunk up and dissolve the ear cups but hey sound surprisingly good and have a battery that lasts for somewhere between 24-30 hours of playback on a charge. I use them all day long at work and charge them every 3 days, I've never tested to see when they actually run out of juice...
I bought this case off the (German) Amazon when I got my A2017G model Axon 7. It's relatively cheap, but it does provide alright protection. It also has a built in kickstand, but I wouldn't use it for more than watching a video or two, because it feels cheap, like it could snap off any moment if one applies too much pressure.
Still, for $8, little complaints aside from the edges of the plastic being a bit rough. I often use my pinky finger to support my phone, letting it rest on it with the charging port, but as the edges are a bit rough it actually does irritate a little.
Really, on Amazon.ca in Canada the price is $701 (https://www.amazon.ca/ZTE-Axon-unlocked-smartphone-64GB/dp/B01FUF1EL8) and the only other place you can buy it from is at Newegg.ca for $520 currently (https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875705054).
I'm using this case.
I've actually gone through quite a bit:
Stock/Clear - fine but wanted something better.
Spigen Rugged - good case but the buttons can get pushed in too easily. My phone rebooted twice while in my pocket and it was 100% because of the case.
J&D Slim - slippery
Based on a post that I saw on XDA, I ended up ordering the Illumi Aquashield. Cheap, and there's two in the box:
https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Premium-AquaShield-Coverage-Anti-Bubble/dp/B01GQVKCEA
(the Walmart listing ships for free).
It's a near perfect fit for the screen, and seems to be doing well with my Spigen case. When I applied it, I did so while the Spigen case was on the phone (to help with the alignment). This ensured that the protector wouldn't inadvertently snag under any part of the case. Mine looks as good as it did when installed in December.
I bought a matte IQShield from Amazon( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GQWMIZU). Applied wonderfully and it's been on for a week with no bubbles. I also have a MicroP kickstand case from Amazon. ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J9Y5CQO)
This ethernet adapter works and gets an IP address.
However network traffic doesn't seem to be routed through it.
There might be some app out there than can enable the routing policies that seem to be missing.
Take a look at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01969U4I8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There are similar armbands with same design but different branding so take a look around and find the cheapest one.
7.0 didn't help for me. I ordered one of these in the past. Dayton Audio iMM-6 Calibrated Measurement Microphone for iPhone, iPad Tablet and Android https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ADR2B84/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_XoBSyb3WARXM9 it was awesome til my dog chewed it up. I don't know if it would help the mic issue. I've tried with Dolby enabled and not. When the mic finally decides to stop the muffled parts, the sound is fantastic. I just have to play guitar parts like 5 times to get that good recording.
