Just got banned myself. Use a vpn. They only ban your vpn and not your actual account. I recommend windscribe. https://windscribe.com/
I went on the discord looks like others are also flooding the discord. Was telling people to just use a vpn because it bypasses the ban. Kissanime support asked for my ip. I reply "I'm not dumb" then instantly banned.
> We have received multiple subpoenas and court orders requesting subscriber information. Our response was identical to what we send in case of a DMCA related request. We were never ordered to log users (although there were requests), but since we’re in Canada which has no mandatory data retention directives that apply to VPNs, we wouldn’t need to comply.
https://torrentfreak.com/which-vpn-services-keep-you-anonymous-in-2019/
You see, other VPNs will market themselves as SUPER CHEAP PER MONTH.....as long as you buy it for 3 years in advance making the "super cheap" part a bit deceptive.
We decided to one-up everybody and make the absolute cheapest plan that ANY VPN offers at just 1 cent per month. Just pay $1000 in advance and you'll get it for almost 8000 years! GREAT DEAL!
It's obviously a joke but it IS purchasable and some people have bought it. But if you wanna return to the normal plan then you can just click this link and it will remove the "promo": https://windscribe.com/upgrade?promo=nodeal
Some people don't want to pay for a VPN for one torrent or a one off thing. Windscribe has a great privacy policy as well. Logs are deleted within three minutes of disconnecting and you don't need an email to use the free plan. Just a username and password. IPs aren't stored at all. "We do not store connection logs, IP timestamps, or sites you visit (we are firm believer that one's browsing history should be taken to one's grave)."
Source: https://windscribe.com/privacy
Windscribe is a good Canadian owned one. It has a free service that has a generous amount of data for the free one. You can tweet and get about 15GB per month or you can watch /r/efreebies for when they offer codes you can redeem to up it to 45 or even 50GB per month.
Of you can buy a "lifetime" (10 year) subscription like I did for unlimited badnwidth. The only things they log are that you connected to the VPN at all and how much bandwidth you used (to keep track of the free service) but they don't track what you're doing with that bandwidth.
Someone posted a link a while back on r/efreebies for a VPN service that was $90/year, or $45/year if you used a virtual coupon for new members. I'll see if I can't find it for those interested as it has both a desktop VPN application as well as a browser extension to add redundancy.
Edit: Here's the link to the post, and here's the link to the website.
Providing us with a confirmed email during registration is the reason why you get 10GB instead of 2GB. We want your email so we can send you promotional material related to Windscribe, and get you to upgrade to a Pro account, since you know, that's how we make money so we can keep providing the service.
When you unsubscribe, we remove your email from the database entirely (something almost nobody does), as we try to keep as little personal info as possible. Since we can't send you promotional emails anymore, you get downgraded to a basic 2GB account. You also lose the ability to reset your password via "forgot password" form, since the email is removed.
This is discussed in the Terms of Service, that you agree to when you make an account: https://windscribe.com/terms
My ASUS router has this feature. Although I had to enable port forwarding for a couple of ports to get it to work. Another service I like that answers /u/taylormadein313's question is a program called Windscribe. On/off button. One second you're in Texas, the next you're in France.
They’ve said that lifetime subscriptions are permanently gone.
Once a service has gained enough early users there’s not much upside to offering a lifetime subscription; it’s a permanent ongoing cost that can be detrimental overall despite the one time revenues.
The 1337 deal is still on though!
I've found them to be pretty transparent, according to their Privacy Policy.
They're also pretty responsive and seem to have no issues keeping users in the loop.
I consider them to be trustworthy. Do some research, it's up to you to decide.
Edit: I believe them when they say they don't keep logs. Read that privacy policy I linked. It explains exactly what information they collect and why they collect it.
Windscribe is good and free. The free plan has a small amount of bandwidth, however if you register with an email address you can get up to 10GB monthy bandwidth for free (I used a throwaway email account to register for extra anonymity). There was also a code they circulated a while ago that bumped you up to 50GB monthly bandwidth for free. Code is: 50GBFREE
Not sure if the code is still valid but it is worth a shot.
You can also check out other options at https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/
There are good VPN's that are free so please ignore people saying that there aren't. You get more out of their services when you pay but that does not mean free VPN's are bad
"Your Lifetime account will automatically renew at the end of the 10 year term at no cost if it's still active."

This is from the Support Article in the knowledge base. Initially you had to send support a message before 10 years would pass but it seems they changed it according to this. I still have better part of a decade lol
https://windscribe.com/support/article/17/lifetime-account-expiry
Hi, our privacy policy outlines our logging procedures in plain english: https://windscribe.com/privacy
In short, we only keep a tally of bandwidth used in a calendar month to enforce free tier limitations. We do not store IP timestamps, activity logs, or historical usage. We cannot terminate accounts for p2p/dmca related offenses as we have no way to trace individual user activity to an IP address, which is shared by hundreds of people at any given time.
Im unsure what you mean by encrypt usernames and passwords. Passwords are stored in a hashed format using bcrypt with a unique salt for each account.
All support is done in-house on self hosted open source helpdesk software. We do not use any 3rd party services (except for billing purposes).
We only provide tech support. If you lost your account you must use the provided tools to regain access, if you provided an email which is optional. If you haven't, then you're out of luck.
Hope that answers your questions.
FYI, account sales are forbidden by the Terms of Service:
> Prohibited Uses > > ... > > Rent, lease, loan, sell, resell, sublicense, distribute or otherwise transfer the Service without our prior written authorization.
Your account may be subject to sudden termination if the staff catches wind of it (and yes, they do monitor this subreddit).

Why I use Windscribe: I got a very good price via stacksocial
That's actually what the firewall should reliably prevent from happening, or it wouldn't be a firewall at all. As Windscribe makes a clear distinction between their own firewall mode and the killswitch of other VPNs, it has to work properly.
Having said that, just activating the firewall in the main interface of the application isn't enough to provide total protection for what you were doing. In order to reliably halt all internet traffic you have to go into the preferences and choose "always on" from the firewall mode drop-down field.
Why? The firewall in the "automatic" only protects you if you are connected to the Windscribe VPN and at some point lose the connection. But as soon as you disconnect (which is what happens when you switch locations), I strongly assume the firewall will be disabled with it until it gets re-enabled upon having achieved the connection to a new location. This is what the FAQ says on the topic:
> What are the firewall modes? > > Choose the mode that suits you best. > > - Automatic (Default) - Firewall will be enabled when you connect, and disabled when you disconnect from a location. It will remain on if your connection suddenly drops. You should leave it in this mode unless you know what you're doing. > - Manual - You can toggle the firewall on or off whenever you want. > - Always On - Firewall is always on, and cannot be disabled unless you change this setting. You will not have any Internet access when you're disconnected from Windscribe.
Check the "IP type" on https://ipx.ac/
Your home and cell will say "Residential (ISP/Broadband)" and "Mobile ISP" and the VPN will say "Non-Residential (Data Center)"
All websites can check for this info and ban data center IP addresses.
You can buy a subscription to a Residential Static IP.
Yes, you can use the free version for torrenting, but not on servers that have the "No P2P" flag.
They don't keep logs, except for the one that they need to see how much data did you use (for obv motives). As always, this is an easy thing to say, and we, the user, don't know for sure. Its always up to trust. (And I trust them, so... here I'm)
Here you can see their Transparency Report with how many DMCA request they receive every month, how which "Exactly zero requests were complied with due to lack of relevant data."
Best excuse i could think of is that you're using it because of the encryption of your data so hackers cant steal your data
https://windscribe.com/features/strongest-encryption
Use Brave Browser
Add Windscribe vpn as well for a fast VPN that does a bunch of other badass shit and has an extension with a 1 click proxy as well.
Also unblocks streaming apps, for example wanting the amazon prime library in UK while in the USA
Has a free version as well
Warrant canaries are kind of useless from our company. Canada doesn't have the same national police as the US or other places around the world. We wouldn't get a warrant like an American company would so we have no need to have a warrant canary.
I think the page the other user mentioned (https://windscribe.com/transparency) is even better than a warrant canary as it actually gives you some details as to what happens on our end in terms of Law Enforcement agencies.
Hope that clears up some concerns but let me know if you have any other questions or issues and I'll be happy to answer.
We may joke around and post memes a lot but we are also one of the most private and secure VPNs on the market.
>Why don't you update your ip addresses from each location let's say once per week or so?
Cus it would be hella expensive to lease that many ip addresses.

> Many of the ips are recognised that they are from a vpn provider (e.g wikipedia) or other site
Buy a residential IP then: https://windscribe.com/staticips
Although I saw the deadline was extended from another comment if you are still having connection issues screenshot them and phone the dept and tell them what is happening and request the deadline be extended. Always keep proof of issues.
Also try all browsers, and mobile. Screenshot in each. Maybe also try loading up Windscribe VPN which is free for up to 10 gb, and try connecting through it - the free version allows connections from several Canadian IPs, I think one or two USA based IPs and Switzerland.
It only takes 1 minute to install: https://windscribe.com/
I don't recommend them for anything other then mundane browsing but for this purpose they give you some extra options just in case the issues WW is having are location based.
Honestly, it's pretty amazing. My whole life changed when I got a paid subscription. By having more access to Netflix content, I've lost weight, got a promotion, and started a small local charity helping the underprivileged. Probably the best decision I ever made.
Hey man, that's a really messy situation you guys are into :(
I really wish you the best and hope that you hang on until things calm down.
Although I can't help you with your situation, I can at least recommend a decent VPN service I've been using: Windscribe
Here's the website: https://windscribe.com/
Unlike tunnelbear that started to "mini crash" during regular browsing, Windscribe never let me down.
You get 5GB for free per month (10 GB / month if you verify email) which I think is enough for mining. I think you can also get 15GB a month if you use twitter, but I'm not entirely sure how it works. (I don't use twitter)
I wish you the best of luck!
Note: I would be careful with windows updates in the background though, they eat that data cap very quick. If you're only mining you're in the clear.
Go for r/Windscribe. They're pretty good, decent speeds and are the only VPN that offer a make your own plan, where you can pay just $2 every month for unlimited data plus ten free servers and an extra additional premium location of your choice OR pay $4 x 12 = $48 every year for all the servers which include the ten free one and about 50 countries with premium servers.
The ones marked with the star are the premium servers. The rest are free ones, on which you get unlimited data when you pay $2 every month (or 10 GB every month if you're just trying it out and not paying).
As I have recommended in a previous post, I would suggest the use of a VPN.
This allows you to mask your IP and obtain a new IP every time you connect with the VPN.
Here is an explanation of how to do it:
- download the free application Windscribe and install it
- You connect regularly to internet with your provider. Once connected, open Windscribe and select a country from the drop-down menu. This will mask your IP with an IP from that country
- Once the symbol of Windscribe becomes blue, you are connected with your new IP
- Reload the page in your browser. In this way, the website will receive the new IP
- Do what you need to do on the website. You know what :)
- Switch off Windscribe. Then switch it on again to get a new IP
- Reload the webpage. Do what you need to do
- Repeat as much as you like
Note that this post will be deleted soon for obvious reasons :)
Windscribe has served me well since I got the 50GB promo years ago. Simple to use and straightforward software. It just works. The paid subscription is better with lots more locations and iirc, they have deals often on that.
before that I used hidemyass, protonvpn and random others when the need arose.
SOCKS5 is an unencrypted proxy.
Those two things are not mutually exclusive. It both gives you a new IP address (that's the proxy part) and still sends your traffic completely visible to everyone (that's the unencrypted part).
This is how the SOCKS5 protocol works, it ONLY reroutes your traffic. Nothing else. That's why you see the "SOCKS5 traffic is unencrypted meaning that your ISP can still know that you are torrenting." warning.
SOCKS5 traffic is unencrypted meaning that your ISP can still know that you are torrenting. It's best to use the desktop app in conjunction with torrent client to prevent snooping by your provider
Build A Plan doesn't work on the TV version just yet. Drop them a ticket here and they'll upgrade you to Pro in the meantime: https://windscribe.com/support/ticket
>I presume that there are no free services that allow this.
If your bandwidth needs are modest, Windscribe offers 10GB/month for free.
Its a Windscribe. I was very surprised to find VPN with low CPU/RAM consumption, good speed, simple interface and being basically free for relatively active players.
go to https://windscribe.com/ and download windscribe for free
you should connect to "best location", your internet turns off for a few second so wait a bit and then launch the game "vindictus.exe" when your internet is back.
once you are at the main menu of the game which has 3 options like "start game", "options" and "exit", you can turn off windscribe, wait again for internet to come back and press "start game".
tada, you can play the game.
Here's a TL;DR of their Privacy page
They record your username and password for basic sign-up and log-in purposes. You can provide your email if you wish to recover your password. They also record a transaction ID if you buy their premium service for 30 days for anti-fraud protection.
They don't record browser histories, connection logs, or IP timestamps.
Accounts can be manually deleted from their server, and inactive accounts are occasionally pruned.
Windscribe Status doesn't work either, same with the login:
> Failed to fetch location list. Something must have went horribly wrong.
Possibly a centralized database/backend problem of some kind.
I've been using Windscribe, I picked up a 1 year Pro membership from humblebundle pretty cheap a few month back... They finally released a Linux Clinent, it's terminal based, but very easy to use. Only thing I don't like is the fact that they are located in Canada.
If you're only using the desktop client, it should only affect that computer. However if you changed your settings in the router from the guide here, it would affect the whole network.
There are many advantages to having a VPN on a router as since most VPN companies limit the number of devices, a router counts as one device and then all devices connected get the benefit.
First find a VPN that supports open VPN cfg. I personally use windscribe https://windscribe.com/.
You need a router that supports open VPN as well and I personally like loading the ddrwrt firmware on the router. https://dd-wrt.com/. If you use this please make sure the exact router and version you get matches what's in their router database.
Once the firmware is loaded you can go to the services tab and enable the open VPN. Your VPN provider will provide the proper keys and cfg needed here. If anyone follows these steps and get here, feel free to pm me and I will gladly help you with this step. This can be a little tricky if you've never done it before.
I know this is fairly high level but I can answer any specific questions if they arise.
I'm not sure about the Back to School deal, but you can still get the Pro plan for 39 USD a year here: https://windscribe.com/upgrade?promo=XPRSNOPE

Cheers!
> Refunds
Windscribe strongly encourages to test the free Service before you pay any subscription to commercial plans. The free service differs from the commercial service only with respect to bandwidth limitations and available servers. In case you are not satisfied with the commercial Service, once you have subscribed you have the right to obtain a full reimbursement, provided you purchased the subscription directly from Windscribe, and given that your request is sent within 3 commercial days from the subscription payment. Windscribe accepts only written refund requests sent to our support desk. You have the right to request a reimbursement without giving explanations. The right to be refunded is invalid if You have violated the Terms of Service and/or if you send the request after having used the Service for more than 3 days and/or if you have used the Service for a global traffic volume exceeding 10 GB. Windscribe warrants a reimbursement within 30 days from receipt of reimbursement request.
https://windscribe.com/upgrade build a plan is on the right side.
Oracle Cloud gives 10 TB per month for free but locations is limited, only 50 Mbps (or > 500 Mbps depending if you're lucky to be close to the region with A1 available) speed and you'll have to set up the VPN server yourself (PiVPN and OutlineVPN make it easier, but you still have to be willing to learn a little)
I don't have any news on that subject, sorry.
But I've had problems like that before. I got fed up with it, and just started using the wireguard configs so i didn't have to use the cli app at all. I also have a script that runs every 15 seconds that checks to make sure my connection is active, and sends me an alert if it fails. I've never had my wireguard connection fail in the last year though, which may be because wireguard has been built into the linux kernel. Yes it is a little jank but like I said, I haven't had to worry about it in the last year.
I'd be happy to share my dumb little monitoring script if that sounds of interest to you.
I'm going to say no they probably cannot. You might check some of the IP leak test websites and see if any see your real IP. Not sure which are recommended but just search IP leak test.
I'd encourage you to use the browser extension for better protection and additional features.
Should have been a little more descriptive with my term 'via command line.' if you want to use wireguard, you will need to use the wireguard program to connect to windscribe via wireguard. windscribe has the wireguard config generator here and you'll need to follow this tutorial starting at this step: Amend WireGuard configuration file, create file /etc/wiregurard. Considering you'll need to download the wireguard config from windscribe, you'll have to download multiple configs if you want to connect to different locations
Yes, Windscribe disconnects all those ports so your system isn't accessible from outside while the VPN is on. You need to set up port forwarding for this which you can do from here: https://windscribe.com/myaccount#portforwards
Like the others mentioned, no you can't. But if you want to always have the same IP when connecting to a specific server, you can get that by paying extra for a static ip.
> Is this how Wireguard works out-of-the-box
No. Wireguard is about creating a VPN tunnel. How NAT is implemented is entirely up to the person running the 'server'.
> I'm using Windscribe's Wireguard VPN.
You are using a VPN provider that does NAT, and the NAT is apparently setup with a range of multiple outgoing IP addresses. It is a way NAT can be commonly configured. At least normal for anyone with tons of clients behind a NAT.
> Is there a way to keep the same IP address for every connection?
Run your own wireguard server on a VPS.
Pay for a static IP? It is apparently something Windscribe offers?
Use a different provider?
First off, the title is a bit misleading if you have not contacted and heard back from support yet.
Have you put in a ticket? Did they tell you to go scratch you're ass? No? Then no one has taken you're money. Stop being a drama queen and go through the proper channels to get shit fixed for Christ sake.

Chromebooks allow you to setup an OpenVPN connection in the settings. You'd have to grab your OpenVPN config from here: https://windscribe.com/getconfig/openvpn
Hi,
The main difference between the browser extension and the desktop client is that the browser extension is a proxy only tool while the desktop client is a true VPN.
The browser extension is used to mask browser level activity only while the desktop client will mask all activity through a Windscribe proxy.
You can find more information about the difference between the browser extension and desktop client on your FAQ page accessible via link below:
Let us know if you have any further questions.
https://windscribe.com/?friend=sl7zfgo6 A lot cheaper than a second streaming service and works great to expand the netflix library. I'm in Sweden but I use netflix UK, US & CA more than I use the Swe one probably.
Let's be clear on the feature request so that we don't get confused with all these comments.
For u/frs92:
Windscribe already makes this data available so "hackers or someone that wants to harm the service" can already do whatever you fear they would do. Which doesn't really make sense to me, but whatever.
For u/rpx1234:
Clearly the information is valuable enough for Windscribe to publish it on their site, so OP's request to have it published in the app (where latency is already published by server) is just, as flair-ed, a feature request. Even if it doesn't affect speeds, if it makes a user feel better and it's easy to do-- why not?
Potential Reasons for bandwidth expiring early:
VPN providers usually have binaries for many distros, but when they have no binaries for your distribution you run the VPN connection under OpenVPN

/advance network configuration

OpenVPN is already installed on Solus by default, to connect just open network
at menu and select the VPN you want to connect to
You need to port forward Voobly port: 16000 (UDP) protocol. Don't know how to port forwarding? Google your router name + port forwarding. I also recommend enabling UPNP in your router as well as in Voobly settings.

If you don't have a router or access to router or connected through a mobile network . There is a solution: Windscribe
All you have to do is install it and turn on the switch then connect to voobly and voila never fp again.
It's on the Upgrade Page!
The minimum is $2 so you can get the Windflix option and Unlimited bandwidth + ROBERT. Or you can stay on your limited bandwidth plan and get 2 Windflix servers. Or one Windflix server and one regular server. All for $2...so much customization!
Hello,
latest official version of the game is The Asian Dynasties 1.03, sounds like you're actually on the old vanilla version without expansion content and fixes.
Nevertheless, steps for fixing "Failed to join" are the same:
Furthermore, the official ESO servers are still up and running ever since the game's release, you do not need to play on the inferior Gameranger platform with less people. If you have the game pirated or forgot your ESO account credentials, note that there will be Steam sales happening fairly soon when the game will go for 75% off or so.
Please direct your donation to [email protected] :)
Which VPNs did you try? I use Windscribe and it always works for me. They gives you 2GB/month for free and you can watch the episode on YouTube. Just make sure to choose the UK server when you turn it on. :)
Let me walk you through what might work. You can download windscribe from here. If you are able to download and install it on one of your college computers, you're good to go. Just sign up for an account, open the program, and click the button to turn it on. If not, you'll need to insert a flash drive into your personal computer. Download and install it somewhere on that flash drive. Then take the flash drive to one of the college computers and sign up for an account, open it, and click the button to turn it on. I'm not 100% sure this will work, but it won't take long to try!
Edit: I believe you can sign up for a free account, which should be fine for what you want to do. Otherwise, you can find info about other vpns by searching the web (probably even by searching this sub).
This is the current guide on windscribe.com that describes how to set up uTorrent to work with Windscribe. https://windscribe.com/guides/utorrent
If they have a tough stance against it, posting a how-to guide is a funny way of showing it. It would be kinda like a father telling his children don't do crack but if you do, I'm going to show you how to do it properly.
I've had this issue before on win 10 and it turned out my hosts file was set to read only
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.
Locate the hosts file, right click it and choose Properties from the menu.
Untick Read-only and click apply and OK
If that's not the problem I'd suggest submitting a ticket on the site
Windscribe completely down.
"Oops, that shouldn't happen.
It seems someone tripped over the power cable and broke everything. Please stand by while we fix it.
You can check our Twitter for updates."
I recommend Windscribe. It's basically the only free VPN you can really trust, they haven't built up a bad reputation and they have a support subreddit (/r/Windscribe). I use it and it's pretty damn good.
Yes. To create an account, change your location where Spotify is available using a vpn (like windscribe). Then sign in once from same vpn location and stream music. Once you are signed in, you can disconnect from vpn, meaning vpn is required only for sign-up and sign-in.
Skini Windscribe, ukljuci VPN za drzavu na koju je account registriran, pokreni Spotify aplikaciju, ugasi Windscribe.
Meni tako traje 2-3 tjedna, onda opet moram pokrenuti s Windscribeom.
Anything you do on the internet constitutes data, even if it's just text. These days websites are loaded with images or even videos that consume lots of data, including in the form of adverts. Your operating system and other programs installed on your computer will also use up data. Updates can consume huge amounts, and on Windows 10 you don't even get a warning before it downloads them.
If you need more bandwidth, there are a number of voucher codes you can use, I think REDDIT50 is one. Just go to https://windscribe.com/myaccount and click claim voucher to enter it. If you need more than you can get from vouchers then there's always the Pro subscription, that gives unlimited amounts of bandwidth usage.
You get up to 10GB of data per month on the free plan. However, if you want more data per month, you can either use the new "REDDIT50" voucher on the My Account page to get 50GB p/m or if you want more than that you can upgrade to the PRO version.
Here's the problem: https://windscribe.com/status
Only 1 POP online for thew whole of Australia. There's normally 2.
This is not good enough Windscribe.
Thinking of changing to another VPN, don't really want to since I bought the Lifetime Licence.
I really like the software and support here and feel that overall WS is brilliant, but VASTLY under-servicing the 20M Aussies compared to other countries.
Please Windscribe reply. Is there a roadmap for improvements for Australia?
According to Windscribe's knowledge base: https://windscribe.com/support/article/17/lifetime-account-expiry
"Your Lifetime account will automatically renew at the end of the 10 year term at no cost if it's still active. "
Why don't you give him the proper link? -> https://windscribe.com/download
There is an application for Mac, just install it and turn it on. All your traffic will be routed through the VPN (including jDownlaoder Traffic).
You could try using a VPN. I personally recommend Windscribe. https://windscribe.com/
The free version has a limit of 10GB per month, but if you use the voucher "50GBFREE" when signing up, it'll turn into 50GB per month.
The only PrivacyToolsIO requirement we don't meet is the "X eyes country" criteria, which I frankly think is pretty bullshit. Sure we can move the legal entity to Panama, Seychelles, etc quite easily at minimal cost to get that checkmark, but unless there is an actual reason to do that, it causes more harm than good. Canada has a mature legal system, our lawyer is 10 min drive away, and everything is predictable. We can also move the company to Saudi Arabia, which is not a "X eyes country", and would meet the PrivacyToolsIO criteria, but is that a good idea? Probably not.
We give extra 5GB of data if you Tweet about us. Not sure why that earns us a "red marker" on the comparison chart.
As we're a freemium service, and free accounts are limited by bandwidth/month, we obviously have to store the amount of bytes you transfer in a month period. This is clearly mentioned in our privacy policy: https://windscribe.com/privacy
Paying users already can download OpenVPN configs and use them in whatever application they like: https://windscribe.com/getconfig/openvpn. The Android app will be a native app that simply uses OpenVPN under the hood.
Check out Windscribe. Great free VPN. I get 15gb a month.
EDIT: And it doesn't swap IP addresses. It's fully secured and still free. Pay for it if you like it though.
>i'm just recommending it cuz i love it!
Thats probably why you are posting a referral link? Fuck off.
>Generate Secure Links that can link to absolutely anything. If anyone signs up along the way, you get paid.
> Someone allegedly impersonated a gov employee and stole $10k from a Ukrainian social services agency. A year later the servers were seized by local authorities.
At no point did we ever hand over any customer data, simply because there is nothing to hand over. We have a real time transparency report at the following URL: https://windscribe.com/transparency
A lot of that information is sensationalised to the point it’s not correct at all. It’s also funny you chose that article because it’s the one a lot of people in the community use to show the tactics used by these vpn companies. Hit pieces using their content network to score wins. Even if they’re lying to their users about their network. Most of them don’t even have their own servers but use virtual ones from another provider.
Use Openvpn or Wireguard to set up your own. Of course, this isnt really optimal if you really must handle sensitive data because, assuming its important shit you wanna hide, you would be far pressed to fight off stuff like law agencies and such by yourself.
Windscribe is in my opinion your best bet as far as free vpns are concerned. Remember, if you aint paying, you are the product.
Autistici is worth a look. Its donation driven and run by pretty decent folks.
I can't say I can speak from experience with the plan (I'm a legacy lifetime Pro user and therefore never had a need for it), but at least in the US, it's front and center on their pricing page among other options. I couldn't find anything that implied it's region-specific.
Your post history suggests you're from South Africa. 2 USD is a bit over 30 ZAR. A quick Google search implies that's a cup or two of coffee per month. If you're telling me you can't even afford that, in my opinion, you've got much bigger problems to worry about than how you're gonna get GTA Online working.
This is a known issue, will be fixed shortly. However the REAL fix is not using an app from 4 years ago, please upgrade to at least 1.83 or better yet - 2.0, which has all these features.
How are you using windscribe? through your router or through the app? You can use split tunneling through the app, make the sites that block VPN go through your regular ISP, not sure if its available, as I use windscribe on my router. https://windscribe.com/features/split-tunneling
You might find Windscribe's firewall interesting. Also, anyone worried about killswitches and torrenting can just bind the network interface to the VPN in qbittorrent. That way it doesn't function at all outside of that interface.
ControldD is coming out of beta in June and ROBERT getting CD features hasn’t been confirmed. The updated site is slowly progressing as you can see the new site on some portions of the site now. Here’s one - https://windscribe.com/features/windows
WhiteBit banned the US (due to stricter SEC regulations). If you do KYC or use network traffic from the US, they could ban your account/IP address.
So a VPN like Windscribe helps you get around that. Plus, it’s free and easy to use.
the need for a VPN is to not be tracked.
you want a VPN that has no logs.

from the website https://windscribe.com/features/no-logs
" We do not store any logs that can identify you. You can see more details on what we do store by checking out our human-friendly Privacy Policy.
TLDR; We don't keep connection logs, IP timestamps, session logs, or monitor your activity. "
>So if I edit the /etc/resolv.conf of a template it'll work with the VPN on DispVMs?
It should.
>What DNS server do I add? A specific one for the VPN provider or just a standard DNS?
I never used Windscribe, but after a quick search I came across this page that shows "10.255.255.3", try to set that.
Did you try to use a vpn on your phone? I recommend Windscribe free version (gives you 10 gb, sign up using this link to get an extra gig: https://windscribe.com/yo/ur93dhbq).
Go into preferences->connection->connection mode (switch from auto to manual) and set the protocol to stealth. The school won't know anything on your phone and you have full access to the internet. Don't use any other free vpn, this is probably one of the better ones. If this VPN can get past China's firewall, your school's firewall can't do shit!
I highly suggest WS

yes its a referral link, just being forthcoming - you can make a custom plan, which i did - unlim data, 3 devices same time, all US servers $2/mo - and they have an app for every platform you can think of
Been using this to watch Netflix Japan for titles that aren't released here (Jujutsu Kaisen, Tensei Slime Season 2, etc). Only works on premium though, not the free version.
It can be delayed occasionally. Log into your Windscribe account and confirm your current Bandwidth Usage. If it shows as being reset 0 GB, press Delete Sessions to log you out of all Windscribe apps. Log back in and the app(s) should now show your full allowance. If the account page shows as not yet reset then you could submit a support ticket and ask. https://windscribe.com/support/ticket
This little guy here.
Basically a DNS level adblock (which as you can see, its similar, if not the same thing, to what ControldID is). But to use it, you need to be connected to the VPN (and also, it doesn't work if you're connected via the browse addon).
Every website has to know your ip address so they can send you packets(data). Most don't log the ip addresses that connect but many do. The only way to avoid this is to use a vpn, which connects for you so they can only see the ip of the vpns server. I recommend windscribe myself it's free with a pretty high data cap which is easy to raise. https://windscribe.com/yo/4hqea58b That's a friend referral link so I (and you) can get free extra bandwidth if any of you end up signing up. Fun fact, your ip is geo specific, so if I have your ip address I can tell roughly where you live, maybe a few houses off but with a few streets definitely. This is a fun website with which looks at the same data every single website has access to and shows it to you: https://webkay.robinlinus.com(webkay stands for what every browser knows about you) It also has suggestions on how you can stop it from collecting said data. : )
May I suggest an alternative?
Use <strong>Windscribe</strong> instead. They are actually a really solid VPN provider that offers a free plan with more bandwidth than that. Not only that, you don't need to do what you're doing here. Instead, they offer <strong>a browser extension</strong>. So the VPN would only apply to your browser traffic to begin with!
R.O.B.E.R.T only blocks dns requests, meaning that if the ad comes from the same domain it won't be blocked. The Windscribe extension for browsers uses ublock origin iirc and will block those ads too.
Tldr: if you use the browser extension and desktop app with R.O.B.E.R.T together you'll block most if not all ads. Also, check if you've enabled it https://windscribe.com/myaccount#robert
I don't use the extension, but a useful explanation of its role can be found here. https://windscribe.com/support/article/27/difference-between-desktop-app-and-browser-extension Essentially on its own (I.e. no desktop or mobile VPN app) it would operate as a proxy. When combined with the desktop app it offers additional features not available to the desktop on its own. The extension's self-contained operation as a proxy is unrelated to free or paid sever use.
from the USA:
Wireguard protocol:
Chennai - 118Mbit down/13Mbit up
New Delhi - 0.85Mbit down/5.37Mbit up
IKEv2 protocol:
Chennai - 46Mbit down/1Mbit up
New Delhi - 11Mbit down/3Mbit up
It seems like the New Delhi server is pretty unusable from here, but the Chennai one is doing fine.
The location status currently has Chennai at 2% use and New Delhi at 43%. If you're using the pro version, try the Chennai server.
All you need to do is login to your account via https://windscribe.com/login. After doing so, please click on the Pricing button on the top of the web page and purchase the applicable Pro plan.
Keep in mind, all these accounts are stolen from rightful owners who set poor passwords on them. Here is a freemium VPN you can use, with your own account: windscribe.com / r/Windscribe
10GB of free data, no payment required. Really cheap plans available ($2/month).
