The devs wrote about the Mexican flag on their website: https://www.ageofempires.com/news/this-historical-research-behind-the-mexico-civilization/
It seems they were just playing safe due to Mexican trademark laws?
They will let the community know at least a month in advance when the challenge will end.

Having the big button in age2 means your game is properly updated; that's where it's currently supposed to be after the Inca rework. You can read about the Inca changes here.
100.12.47581.0 is indeed the latest stable version.
There's actually an unfinished AoE1:HD mod made on the AoE3 engine with a lot of work put into it. Unfortunately it was discontinued after AoE1:DE announcement. https://www.moddb.com/mods/age-of-empires-hd-edition
It's true. Good news is that the devs have announced they're working on fixes. > This is a prominent issue with several different fixes in the works. We’ve heard you and will be implementing updates as soon as we’re confident in them!
> We live in the middle east, where ESO servers do not exist, and the nearest server is far away from us.
Note that there is only one ESO server worldwide, and it practically doesn't matter how far away from it you are, since matches are not actually handled on the server itself in any case (players are still connected directly to each other).
To fix "Failed to Join", you can connect to a VPN such as Windscribe or NordVPN before launching AoE3, and ESO should work fine. At least assuming you can use one of those VPNs in your country. I get that your solution works for playing with friends, but if you'd like to play with other players from the world, this is something left to try.
Yes, it will run very well. I'm running it on wine with integrated on i5 4th gen , 8gb ram and get a constant 60fps. Wish I had a comp like yours :).

That's how it was, yes. Update 5208 back in November made them a bit worse:
> Added an 0.5x Cavalry and Shock Infantry multiplayer to the Li’l Bombard’s “Cannon Attack.” This should allow the unit to perform similarly to other artillery when upgraded, such as when The Mercenary Contractor (V) politician is selected.
The card got removed due to how defensive it was allowing the civ to be. It allowed the civ to be so defensive to the point of other players just quitting right away when you got dance + Stronghold
Here is the link to those patch notes: https://www.ageofempires.com/news/aoe3de-update-6159/
I thought I had provided an explanation of this video but it did not show up for some reason.
This is the change that has messed up the AI.
"Increased the radius in which Settlers will seek out and collect their respective resources to prevent them from idling when uncollected resources are within view."
https://www.ageofempires.com/news/aoe3de-update-6159/
First, I noticed that my villagers would finish gathering coin and then walk to the next coin mine without regard of distance. So for example, if the villager AI felt like crossing the map to the enemy town to gather coin, it would do so. I lost many villagers when I was engaged in fights, because the villagers would automatically move around the map. Mindlessly. (you know? A mindless AI hahaha). But I digress.
So the enemy AI had the same issue. Their villagers would cross the map to try to gather resources on my side of the map. I noticed many enemy villagers just suiciding to my army.
The weirdest issue that I observed is that the enemy AI did not know how to respond to the new AI change. The villagers would sometimes just move to the middle of the map and then back to their base. In a loop.
Some of the villagers would just stop in the middle of the map and not move at all. If you see at the minimap, the coin mines of the enemy AI had not been mined.
I wanted to make more short videos about this issue but the game crashed a minute after I recorded this one.
I will firmly say that I am against the AIdea :) of making everything automated in game. I understand that the developers are trying to make it easier for new players, however, the changes they make alter the way the game was meant to play by Ensemble Studios. It is also horrible to be constantly returning your villagers back to your base when they walk around the map for no reason.
You're right except for this part: > Aoe3 DE tho might have it, just like the two others DE.
None of the DEs have Steam workshop, and I would be surprised if AoE3DE did have it. Mods for DEs are handled in a different way through ageofempires.com website.
Hello,
latest official version of the game is The Asian Dynasties 1.03, sounds like you're actually on the old vanilla version without expansion content and fixes.
Nevertheless, steps for fixing "Failed to join" are the same:
Furthermore, the official ESO servers are still up and running ever since the game's release, you do not need to play on the inferior Gameranger platform with less people. If you have the game pirated or forgot your ESO account credentials, note that there will be Steam sales happening fairly soon when the game will go for 75% off or so.
Please direct your donation to [email protected] :)
Probably not, but if you whip out a text editor it'd be pretty easy. Copy the line or two that enables outposts in the techtreey.xml from some Euro civ's Age0 tech [e.g., Age0French] into Japan's.
Probably easier with Notepad++ than trying to use regular notepad. https://notepad-plus-plus.org/
If it makes you feel better, I've created a mod with the goal of redoing the Lakota with actual Lakota names and a new voice-over. Probably won't be done for another few months, but here's the link to my mod in its current state if you wanna fuck around with it.
DE has had over 133,000 individual changes and additions over the old legacy game, just on release alone: https://www.ageofempires.com/news/aoe3de-baseline-update/
That means it is absolutely not possible to play these two games together; they are very different.
It would be probably best for you all to get the much cheaper DE remaster. It costs about half as much as the legacy game (or even less for those who own the legacy game already), and it's, well, remastered. DE is what the devs are supporting and where new content is being developed. It also includes two new civs (Inca, Sweden), several new singleplayer missions and other stuff.
Lmao not exactly, but it does have it's own situation for sure. I'll leave the quote and link as to not misrepresent; draw your own conclusions.
>“I think a game can have Crazy Horse in it, but it has to be done right: with great care, thought, and research from the beginning…not just in how he is represented, but also with the kind of context the game creates. In this case, it just didn’t seem very dignifying for someone of his standing. I would also add that if you wanted to depict Crazy Horse, you should reach out to his maternal family to get permission.”

I have published my scenario map. If you are interested, you can take a look at the link below:
Well, how do you plan to buy the game for a Mac?
On the official website, they are talking about using Windows with Parallels Desktops: https://www.ageofempires.com/news/aoe3de-mac-w-parallels/
AoE3 is no longer supported (for multiplayer) on Mac, and there's no telling how much longer the OS will support it either, as the game is no longer being patched.
Alternatively, as some have mentioned in this thread, you could play via either bootcamp (installing the Windows OS on your Mac) or WineSkin (essentially emulating a Windows environment and thereby running the game natively on the Mac OS). I'm sure there are many people here who could help you get bootcamp working and the Windows OS installed, but this method isn't cheap. :P
Personally, myself and many others use WineSkin (http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php) to run the game. With WineSkin you can install Steam, and download the game there. I'm not entirely certain if the game would be buggy at all if you're using the Steam version through WineSkin (though I've heard from others that it works fine), as I use the retail version. In any case, if you're interested in using WineSkin, I could help you set it up, it's not very complicated. Maybe I'll consider just writing a new thread for this somewhere for other Mac users... that might be a good idea. :P
Hi, this issue depends on your specific router and internet service provider, it is therefore impossible to compose a general complete guide, as there are thousands of different routers with their own interfaces.
What needs to be done is called port forwarding on the router, and can be nontrivial or outright impossible for you to set up. If you figure out how to do it on your router, the ports AoE3 needs are:
port 80 TCP
port range 2300-2310 UDP/TCP
Alternatively, it is possible to play AoE3 over a VPN such as Windscribe. This is a bit easier to set up, but will likely increase your in-game lag.
Ah, but the CD I bought did came with a seal and was official. How can this be called a scam?
Bought it off amazon back in 2018, the product is something like this, but am not in UK. It seems to be unavailable.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Age-Empires-III-Complete-Collection/dp/B002MUO6CE
You cannot create any new assets using the scenario editor. What you saw are modders who have physically altered game files to create a different version of the game - and imported/created the 3d models in another way (I'm not familiar with 3d modeling myself). For example, here's someone making a GoT game mod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/age-of-empires-iii-no-middle-ground
There is one specific mod which brings many AoE3 ideas into AoE2, although not specifically those you mentioned; Portuguese Civ Mod.
Perhaps you are looking at this from the wrong side, since it is generally harder to port modern AoE3 features onto the ancient AoE1/2 engine, rather than making an AoE3 mod in a different time setting. There are a couple mods like that on moddb, though ones you'd probably enjoy most (such as AoE1:HD or Ancient Empires) are currently still under development and not in a stable state. I guess check out what's there, if anything you at least have some things to look forward to I'm sure.
Got this, How do I install it, https://www.ageofempires.com/mods/details/42487/
Also there is second picture, If u can see it!
Thanks so much for helping!
You want me to prove a negative?
.....
Here's the article, my friend, you can see the lack of information regarding the "consultation" process and who it involved yourself:
>just for a guide
Lol, it is a nearly 90-page PDF (hardly worthy of being called "just" a guide), and it's a great place to have an account if you're interested in being an active part of the AoE3 community.
Regardless, though, here it is:
Yeah, the files have a checksum so that any kind of change not made through the game client will immediately make them invalid.
However, since the game has official mod support now, you could activate a mod which does something like what you want. For example this one might be it. Note that all level requirements are already removed on DE, so there is no mod for that.
I've been playing using Shadow, where you essentially stream a high end PC. It depends a lot on your location and internet connection but I've had a lot of success with it as a cheaper alternative to buying a PC https://shadow.tech/
You are likely to run into the same issue, since Gameranger essentially works on the same basis as ESO (although it does use different ports, so there's a chance).
> We've tried everything (VPN, port forwarding etc.) but it all failed.
Allow me to double-check. The ports needed are:
80 TCP
2300-2310 UDP/TCP
Free VPN known to work is: https://windscribe.com/ (turn it on before launching game, off when done playing)
> Is there something i did wrong?
Well, not you specifically, but it means your network doesn't allow the game's multiplayer to function properly.
> Can i somehow fix this?
Yes, you can circumvent the issue by connecting to Windscribe VPN before you launch AoE3: https://windscribe.com/
Make sure to switch it off when done playing, to prevent using up your data limit.
Here are scans of the quick reference guides. I can probably edit the images together later, but not until later this week probably.
That sounds very strange about your Product Key.
Here's a .zip of every Vanilla scenario I have. I don't know how many good ones there are, or how many are even real scenarios, but I'd really recommend that if you want to get into scenario playing again that you get TAD working somehow, the best scenarios seem to be designed for it, in my opinion.
https://www.ageofempires.com/news/aoe3de-update-23511/#spotlight_us-unlock-event
" Q: When is the last day I can complete the daily challenges?
TBD! Don’t worry, though: we’ll let you know at least a month in advance before the United States civ unlock event ends."
So I looked it up and technically you're right, it's not a completely new engine. But so many parts of it where overhauled I think my comment remains valid.
Check out this interview:

Event lasts from Dec 8 through Dec 15.
You can only unlock one reward per day, so make sure to not wait until the last day!
Also make sure to sign into Xbox live to keep the rewards.

They have a full section in the Release Day changelog called "Native Warrior Improvements". Look it up.
https://www.ageofempires.com/mods/details/18726/
That mod is the only way to play skirmish against AI. The devs for this game are 8 or 80: Before AI never made a revolution, now it always does, even if it didn't need to. Annoying
It looks like it might be mentioned in the changelog? There is a list of maps that have been adjusted for competitive play. It does seem to include most maps though.
https://www.ageofempires.com/news/aoe3de-baseline-update/ see the Map Changes, Additions, and Adaptations section.
Well, I am a hardcore AOE2 fan, so I think I might be the right person to answer this.
The latest hotfix as far as I remember was in July which was 3 months ago.
https://www.ageofempires.com/news/aoe2de-hotfix-39515/
That hotfix addressed the stutter that you experience now in AOE3 DE. It fixed a lot of issues that the developers made along with each new patch. For example, they released an update in December and they broke a lot of aspects of the game like wall walking units. After some months, they broke another mechanism where you can train units and get resources. Huh? You might ask what are you talking about? That's what happened there. One new cheat code was introduced where you can research a tech 256x times. But little did we know that a lot of issues came up with those. A lot of people could reproduce the issues in a ranked game. The issue was that any tech can be researched 256x number of times even in a ranked game. A lot of people abused it and even went to top 10 of ranked ladder. Apart from that, there were issues like a civ which was supposed to age up earlier was aging up 166% slower after they introduced 256x tech mod from that patch. These issues didn't even get a hotfix and got fixed 1 month later.
TL DR; So, to summarise even if they fix some issues, they might break other working mechanisms and they will fix it a month later. I would assume it will take 10 more months to fix all the issues with AOE3 DE considering that there are some issues still left with AOE2 DE. So, it's still in an alpha state.
I would say the name changes barely even count, as they literally take the least amount of work that could possibly be put into a change. Not one day after release and there is already a mod that reverts the age names and some others back to the original ones.
I probably did set my expectations a bit too high. The promise of fur trading made me imagine some sort of way to harvest coin from huntables (this post contains some wonderful ideas, looking at you modders!) à la Wars of Liberty. But instead, we get a glorified Mining Camp. Great. The market place doesn't even 'preserve' the land as it should, since it still depletes resources from mines anyway!
So, in it's execution, accuracy, and intent, the handling of the first nation civs in DE has been a disaster IMO.
For now, I was able to make a mod which disables the bluriness.
To install it, from the main game menu go Tools -> Mods -> Browse Mods -> "Non-blurry graphics (disable TAA)" -> Subscribe. The mod requires a game restart after installation.
I have figured it out and was even able to make a mod which disables TAA.

>Inca minor natives removed from all maps where they were previously present and replaced with Mapuche natives instead (except on ‘Andes – Upper’, where the Inca play an important role in the ‘Treaty’ game mode)

Have to make a couple microsoft accounts and share your pc specs. Afterwards you should see an insider opportunities list which has a beta listed for october8-14

Has the German flag changed from white to yellow? Then, what does the Russian flag look like now? I don't know if this is a simple mistake or is intended.

As I said.... Natives, Natives, Natives. Ok. But, what about the other improvements of DE???
In a recent interview by the AOE3 DE developers, they specifically mention they have worked with members from ESOC for better balance. ESOC is a fan patch that focuses on better gameplay balance and maps. If you're unfamiliar with ESOC, you should check out their change log, as it's clear a lot of those changes will likely make their way into DE.
From Insider FAQ: «An orange exclamation mark next to the VRAM section of your beta card indicates that your machine uses integrated system memory instead of dedicated VRAM.
We recommend dedicated VRAM for best performance. Integrated system memory will NOT automatically disqualify you from being chosen for a beta, but may still be a factor in determining your ultimate eligibility—even if your system lists enough memory to meet the minimum system requirements.»
No, that's a network issue; your router or ISP is blocking the connection for example.
The easiest way to get around that is using a VPN while playing, although it will increase latency: https://windscribe.com/
Yes windscribe. It was the only thing that worked for me. Tried port forwarding and all that. It didnt help.
If you register through this referal you and I both get 1GB exta a month
Unfortunately that means your network restricts the game from connecting with other players.
If you're a tech person you might be able to fix it by adjusting your router settings - in that case, what you need is to allow/forward port 80 TCP and port range 2300-2310.
Otherwise, an easy solution is to connect through a free VPN such as Windscribe to circumvent your network restrictions at the cost of somewhat increased latency.
I solved this problem completely by using a free VPN

This one:
https://windscribe.com/?friend=0tpb345k

Yes i get 1Gb extra pr month if you use it

AOE3 use so little internet that the data limit wont be a problem though

Its easier than forwarding ports and works even if you dont have access to the router
Yeah I'm getting the exact same message. My best guess is that the servers are down ATM, since it wasn't working for me yesterday either. Hopefully they get the servers up and running quickly. In the mean time, I'd suggest using GameRanger.
I had this issue. My router was blocking some ports on UDP regardless of port forwarding being configured and the firewall being disabled.
I fixed it by using ProtonVPN. The free plan is sufficient. Perhaps another VPN works too.
Port forwarding is the correct solution (and generally easy to do).
Otherwise a pal of mine has NordVPN instead of Windscribe (which has terrible speed impacts) and that resolves his Unable to Join issues.
You can find the base game without expansions on amazon for $20:
