Shamelessly stolen from the internet: >In 1946, the Nobel Prize-winning physicist traveled to Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, the alma mater of Langston Hughes and Thurgood Marshall and the first school in America to grant college degrees to blacks. At Lincoln, Einstein gave a speech in which he called racism “a disease of white people,” and added, “I do not intend to be quiet about it.”
And on the flip side....
"When I am dead, I want you to just watch and see if I’m not right in what I say: that the white man, in his press, is going to identify me with “hate.” He will make use of me dead, as he has made use of me alive, as a convenient symbol of “hatred” – and that will help him to escape facing the truth that all I have been doing is holding up a mirror to reflect, to show, the history of unspeakable crimes that his race has committed against my race."
The tweet just had me rolling. I can't believe the stuff people come up with.
I'm aghast that people still call eyes belonging to Asian characters in literature and real living breathing people "almond shaped." Why is it always food? 🤷🏾♀️
Then I remembered this article I read a while back about the history of why it is. Infuriating.
It gets a bad rap but, Tumblr is great. In fact, it gets a bad rap by redditors that highlights it's worst parts. (It's the same people who use cuck and SJW as insults, how much do you value their opinion? It would be like saying Reddit is all about objectifying women, hating overweight people, red pill, altreich, pedophilia, woman hating bullshit.)
Tumblr is a great website full of progressive people and if there's something you don't like you can unfollow it. I mean, it prides it's self on being woke. Though I don't follow many social justice blogs (mainly anime, video games, and fashion). You'll also realize that alot of Reddit content is stolen from Tumblr.
http://the-real-eye-to-see.tumblr.com/
I can honestly say that the way I think and act would be way different if I didn't find tumblr when I was younger (i'm only 19)
I mean look at all the thousands of notes these post have. Do you think anything like this would get this many upvotes on Reddit? Tumblr also has some beautiful women of all colors. they all fine as fuck.
"Negroes know what I'm talking about. Back then, the white man during the war was so pressed for personnel that he began letting some Negroes put down their buckets and mops and dust rags and use a pencil, or sit at some desk, or hold some 25 cent title. You couldn't read the Negro press for the big pictures of smug black 'firsts' " - The Autobiography of Malcolm X
I think of that passage a lot. These sorts of things are nice in that I like seeing one of us do well, but I don't think they do much for us as a whole.
I was doing some research for a write-up on police violence and how it intersects with gender, and I came across this book that talks all about this.
https://www.amazon.com/Invisible-No-More-Violence-Against/dp/0807088986
If you search the author's name you can find a couple of interviews she did about it and a database she made of female victims.
WHITE MEN HAVE LESS LIFE STRESS, BUT ARE MORE PRONE TO DEPRESSION BECAUSE OF IT HTTPS://WWW.HUFFPOST.COM/ENTRY/WHITE-MEN-LESS-STRESS-MORE-DEPRESSION_N_55F1BA36E4B03784E278576E?NCID=ENGMODUSHPMG00000004 VIA @HUFFPOSTLIFE
Buy and read this book. Then read your posts here again and you'll understand what people are getting at. It's not that people don't want you to do your best to be an ally. It's that you're kind of coming into a black space to tell black people about how not-racist you are. It's good that you're speaking out against racism, but coming to the black section of reddit is kind of preaching to the choir. Reddit in general has a racism problem, so it's best to spread these types of messages in those spaces.
Even just reading the first few chapters will give you an idea of what people here are saying.
I swear I get a lot of hate for having an Android by iPhone users. But literally none of them have ever touched a flagship android in the last 3 years, and probably have only experienced it on a crappy low-end Samsung, running jellybean. And I've found, there is always an android that does something better than iphones since 2014. Best camera? Pixel. Best Screen? Samsung. Most Utility? LG. Inexpensive? OnePlus, Huaweii,Xioami, or ZTE.
Apple is literally riding the wave of Android phones at this point. Nothing wrong with it, but damn, give these manufactures credit. Xioami was the first to do the bezel-less design in 2016 and no one knows it.
As someone in tech, these interviews don't really test smarts, programming skills, or IQ. Just that you can grind leetcode.
Tech interviews are all really just a game with a huge amount of luck involved. Sometimes you get all problems you've heard before with lenient interviews, sometimes you get a bunch of leetcode hards with interviewers who expect you to write a proof before solving it. I definitely wouldn't consider someone smarter or dumber then me based on how they did in an interview.
It's tough after a rejection but it's good that you're going to keep applying. Time is on your side and Google will probably be knocking on your door again in 6 to 9 months anyway.
As far as impostor syndrome I'd recommend reading this book https://www.amazon.com/Mindset-Psychology-Carol-S-Dweck/dp/0345472322
It barely mentions impostor syndrome specifically but the skills taught in it are almost directly related.
Hair sponge. Haven't used that brand but there's lots of options. Then some kind of creme to hold the shape. I'd actually be open to recommendations there, I miiiiiiiight still be using Shea moisture
Many of these judgeships were stolen from Obama when Mitch McConnell refused to confirm Obama's nominees.
As a result, Trump has had the opportunity to appoint more judges than any president at this point in his first term.
One in every six seats on the US circuit courts is now filled by a Trump nominee.
Imagine what it will be like if we don't vote in 2020.
On the one hand, I wanna get hype.
But on the other, during the peak hype of the NES Classic, I made my own DIY emulation box in protest, using a Raspberry Pi. And it already has all these games, soooooo...
Edit: If you're interested in doing the same, here's the site with info. If you need roms, there's a certain paradise for emulation that can easily be googled. The whole thing takes maybe an hour or two to set up once you have all the hardware and software.
And when you're done, you can play Chrono Trigger or any other SNES game you want that the SNES Classic is probably missing. And when you're done with SNES, you can plug in an arcade stick and play Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Unplug that and switch to Saturn to play Snatcher. Or play everything with an Xbox One pad.
There is no DNA site that won't comply with a subpoena. However, so far it doesn't seem like any of them have been officially subpoena'd. As of December 2017, 23andme has not turned over any data to law enforcement, but Ancestry.com has done so for credit card/identity theft issues. In the Golden State case, they didn't get the data from either of those services; they had their information publicly available on a site called GEDMatch, so literally anyone could view and download it (obviously including the police).
Windows Phone forever. I had to jump ship to Android but I skinned it to a Windows Phone style with Squarehome. Requires a fair bit of setup but it's worth it.
This is great. However, when I checked out the first few minutes there was no advertising, which is usually great.
When it comes to supporting diverse content with Real Americans, I prefer to do it in a way that is ad-supported, like on the FXNow app on iOS or Android. Another option is by outright purchasing the episodes on iTunes or Amazon whenever available.
Whatever you do, please try not to pirate shows with real diversity in them.

This piece has a good chunk on his moderate beginnings.
While not only for black folks, Metafilter's pretty good. I'm a white dude that lurks here b/c so much of reddit is super toxic, so I can't say for certain the climate there would be to your liking, but you can check out their current popular posts/comments to see if it resonates with you. The one time $5 fee keeps the trolls out, mostly, and moderation is very visible. Lots of voices of PoCs there.
I guess that's related to black women and asian men being the least sought after in online dating. On one had that's cool with me, more mocha sisters for me. On the other hand, it just goes to show you how badly European looks control our beauty standards.
I'm not financially successful, per se, but I'm also not financially struggling.
I strongly recommend an active budgeting program like YNAB, which is what I use. The idea is that when you get paid, but before you make a payment on anything, you budget your money. You should know exactly where every dollar is going, and/or what it is doing. And, once you know the function of your money, you pay stuff off, or transfer it to a high yield savings, or whatever. What makes it active is that as you manually update it with transactions you make, you are making sure you're keeping yourself within the budget you set for yourself.
And this is all compatible with u/NowYouSeeMe84's excellent advice.
Lol eminem may know his limits as far as verbalizing stuff like that now but don't forget young eminem made a song about how much he didn't like black girls.
Maybe not as well known as some of you guys nominations but I liked K Michelle's music and her instagram has lots of sexy pics so I followed her. Don't judge me.
And then I wake up and read this shit right here.... and now I'm like fuck K Michelle then.
Ah well.

"After all these years im free! I'm ok with me. I danced and laughed so hard tonight. For some Strange reason I've been very accepting of me. I love me. Im different but I'm a good ass person. I love sunflowers, gummy bears, wild animals, and sorry I don't listen to R&B music right now, it just bores me. I love rock, country, men who wear tight jeans and have foreign accents. I love me a handsome Caucasian man, I'm really not into black men right now. They can date outside their race , so can I!!!"
"I believe I'm not black or white but I'm actually a mermaid".
You go sit over there with Stacy and Raven then. Whatever
L$D is such song for stoners, I got a secondhand high when I first listened to it. But the whole A.L.L.A album is fly though. Life pro tip for you fellas, Spotify is doing 3 months of premium for a dollar, you can download and stream as much music as you want including At.Long.Last.A$AP:
> i knoooo i say the same thing but damn yknow, i got work n shit. im tryna get into school
Everybody has to pay the bills and eat. Learn a trade for sure.
> im not even a squeaky clean mlk type dude
Read The Autobiography of Malcolm X. Brother Malcolm was not a squeaky clean dude at all when he was younger living in Harlem. He was a pimp and a burglar at one point. Look at his transformation into the Malcolm X we know.
> i never been to a protest, i "want to" but not really
Protesting injustice is noble and right to do, but really we need sticks and carrots to bring parties to a negotiation table for any significant progress.
It is a trip to watch American Law enforcement to look at the take down the this dude in Toronto and be like "Wow.. they didn't kill him? well looks like they went wrong we would have shot him long ago"
no i get it. My point is just if you think you can grow into it. Go for it. If it's something that's not your area and speciality maybe reconsider. And ya know what as quiet as it's kept. I've always wanted to go into a job to get fired. I mean after reading some of the tech support jobs people get in reddit that they're wildly unqualified for because of nepotism.
I mean i imagine there's gotta be something about taking a job you're wildly unqualified for. I've always wondered how that would look on my resume would it show me willing to try things or what?
Edit: Sometimes i forget not everyone is in the know on FOSS and I should probably clarify that GIMP is a free and open source version of photoshop. https://www.gimp.org/. Decent at it but I can't like draw or anything.
Part of the ACA was expanding Medicaid to cover more low-income people, but Medicaid is administered by the states (and several Republican states chose not to expand it), so there's a ton of variation in whether/how it applies depending on where you live. Here's the page where you can see if you qualify for Medicaid and how to sign up for it if you do. As you can see even from that page, it can get complicated, so you might want to contact a local navigator or someone through Get America Covered if you think you might be eligible. One good thing about Medicaid is that there's no enrollment period; if you qualify, you can get coverage immediately at any time of the year.
Edit: to be clearer about your actual question, the ACA made changes to Medicaid coverage in most states, but enrolling in Medicaid is a different process. The stuff I linked to in the OP is for people purchasing individual health insurance plans, so not employer-based insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. However, I believe when you apply for an individual plan, they're supposed to check if you're eligible for Medicaid and offer that to you if you are.
I didn't give anything since I'm boycotting, but damn, my sis made me feel bad when she got me a Golden Age of DC comics book, it made my fucking day!
Also bought my daughter a NICE tablet for xmas, she really deserved it!
> Let's dig in on that one a bit. I want to be crystal clear on the rules. Exactly which words or types of words qualify as hate speech?
Referring to a woman as a bitch qualifies as hate speech. Referring to a woman recently gunned down in such a manner is an egregious offense.
>Please define trolling.
>And, as I've said, there are several currently unbanned users who are seemingly incapable of discussing even more mundane topics without devolving into insults, personal attacks and trolling
Again, given the size of the community, the context of the rule infractions matter. As an example, if you and another user have been posting for a long time and are fine independently, but routinely get into it with one another, we will see that and will more than likely remove comments and might message one of you independently to cut it out. If one user comes in and, in their short time, gets into it with everyone, there won't be that level of leniency.
I liked BlasianTyga and thought he contributed great content, but even after his temp ban he consistently broke the rules flagrantly and dared the mods to respond, so he was banned. I don't believe the manner in which he contributed to certain discussions was positive. That being said, I'm happy he was proactive and created a sub in order to have the type of discourse he wanted.
I used 23andMe for my DNA test. The results were interesting but not really that surprising. I already knew that most Black Americans are around 80% West/Central African and 20% European. And that's exactly what I am.
Fraternity - Diane Brady. Pretty interesting so far. It's telling the story of a group of black college students who began to attend a college called Holy Cross immediately after MLK's death and perhaps how their success after college is tied to their experiences there. One of the students is Justice Clarence Thomas.
The Power of Habit - Charles Duhiss. I'm actually really enjoying this one. The way it goes into depth into the science of habit is really cool.
The Negro Church in America - E. Franklin Frazier; The Black Church Since Frazier - C. Eric Lincoln. I haven't read this book yet, but based on what I gathered before buying it, it is a good book to roughly trace the history of the black church in America.
This was my list for February, but you see the way that my procrastination works is that I'm still reading them. lol
edit: def didn't read before posting.
Oh hey, first to the party. That rarely happens.
Vince Staples recently did a interview for NPR's The Record and.. I disagree? Gimme a few minutes to collect my thoughts, I just woke up.
I wanna talk to a girl I haven't texted in a month. Not a good feeling.
If they are in the public domain, you could use either Project Gutenberg or its Australian mirror which follows a different IP law.
Some public or school libraries also lend ebooks, the same way Amazon does, except for free. So, check the ones in your area.
Just searching for the name of the book and appending 'epub' or 'mobi' can also yield some interesting results.
Calibre is a free and open source software for converting between formats, I use it for books bought from Amazon.
^^There ^^are ^^other ^^ways ^^too ^^if ^^you ^^want ^^to ^^know.
I use the "Reddit Enhancement Suite" it's a browser add-on that gives me a LOT of features in reddit. One of the minor features is that it tracks every upvote and downvote you give someone. so in short the +100 means I've given you 100 upvotes.
the number gets more green the bigger the number for +5 is more pale and a +50 is more green.

I always suggest it. The night more. Being able to tag people. So for instance if I meet someone who is also into board games I might tag them "board game guy" or some such and anytime i see them i can remember who they are.
this also works for tagging people who are secret racist so you can ignore them.
Co-founder of LocalMonero here.
Saying that buying off LocalMonero, LocalBitcoins etc is "like buying stuff off craigslist" in my opinion is kind of unfair. Craigslist is essentially just a bulletin board where people put up their ads. Craigslist itself doesn't offer any sort of facilitation or protection.
LocalMonero (and other Local* sites, I assume) actually takes part in the facilitation of the transaction. A seller of Monero will have the Monero loaded in their LocalMonero wallet. When a trade is initiated, the relevant sum is reserved from the seller's balance and held in escrow by LocalMonero, and after a trade is concluded the buyer immediately gets the Monero into their LocalMonero wallet. LocalMonero will also step in to mediate any dispute that may arise.
Our service offers you much more security and convenience than if you were simply buying Monero off of someone on craigslist.
I'll be honest: even once your kid does read (my son is 9 and is at grade level), it's still nice to read with them. Each if my kids gets one chapter a night before bed. My 6yo daughter had me reading unicorn books, but we just started with this, which is good so far. My son had me reading the Tristan Strong series (about a Black kid in a fantasy world populated by Black gods and Black folk heroes); we're reading some Warhammer 40k books (for kids, not adults) now.
I had a similar issue. I always start with electric shave rinse before I shave. I use a Brio Bearscape to shave down my beard and then a Whale 5 Star electric foil shaver to get rid of the remaining stubble. Occasionally, I apply some shave butter and finish off with a sharp safety razor going WITH the grain. I finish by washing my face and applying Bump Patrol, which burns like hell but it's worth it. I haven't had bumps since.
The foil shaver has been the biggest change for me. Here's a link.
Lol this book was written by a black woman?!
Sounds like the stuff you hear old black people from the hood talk about. A mix of Ike Turner and Farrakhan.
They love it on Amazon apparently:
https://www.amazon.com/Blackmans-Guide-Understanding-Blackwoman/dp/0933405014
Shit, I pulled the glass from my cabinet. Its a Sterlite glass you cam get them on Amazon
duuuude, i know or i knew of a west African store over on Grand river and lasher. i don't know if they are still open or not. But i think there are plenty of African people that shop at the asian market near me so i can ask there. Amazon has this. Pinch Spice Market, Ethiopian Berbere, 16 Ingredient Organic African Spice https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I3TRZPM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.KKWAbH0YFTXG
The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism by Naomi Klein. It has been tough to get through this one, a lot of information and her writing style is kinda jumpy as she weaves a bit of a conspiracy together. But the good part of this is how she lays out the details of global neoliberal/neocon economic policies and how they've ~~shaped~~ fucked the political landscape over the last 50 years. When you hear about anti-Americanism, this shit is why.
So I needed to get a better idea of the entire software development process to figure out what I'm missing about my skills. I'm currently reading the book Code Complete and it's really opening my eyes. There's a lot of questions or misconstrued concepts that I had that are really being ironed out, and I've only made it as far as detailed design. A good 85% of the book just focuses on just coding and I'm on page like 117 out of 800+. But so far I'm very glad I found it.
The Millionaire Next Door This was recommended by a friend. This book game me insight on what real wealth is. Principles of saving and making smarter decisions with money. With all the stats and studies to back it up.
Any book recommendations? I'm currently rotating: The New Jim Crow - Michelle Alexander The Color Complex - Kathy Russell Your Money or Your Life - Viciki Robin
Edit: Never mind. Just found a book recommendation post from yesterday.
There's a whole book about this sort of thing called Think and Grow Rich. The fundamental idea is to continue a venture past the 'walk away' failure point. The point is illustrated by a bunch of stories about people who walked away following failure, only to have someone else step into their shoes and end up rich.
I was reading the updated and annotated version of the book, and at some point I remembered that they listed Trump as one of the modern successes, and decided not to bother. I realized that every story I had heard up until that point was about a white guy.
Then I found out that a black dude wrote a version of the book for black people called Think and Grow Rich: A Black Choice, using black people as examples. I'm on page 3 now. Had no idea Wally "Famous" Amos is black.
> rock music, liking anime, and liking video games
If my dad had grown up as a student athlete in the US he would've been told all the time "you're not Asian". thankfully growing up in China is protective.
I was told I wasn't Asian enough because I read books ... not just Western stuff like Aristotle, but Asian stuff, including Confucius and The Art of War. I was told that actually enjoying learning was un-Asian because we're forced, and it's not real interest. Kind of a mind fuck if you think about it. In a book I read once: “It was the rise of Athens, and the fear that this inspired in Sparta, that made war inevitable."
Custer Died for Your Sins: An Indian Manifesto by Vine Deloria Jr. Written in the late 60s, pretty interesting look into American Indian perspective.
Also reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X, which is dope. Just reading the Foreword clarified a lot of the precise timeline of events and how things played out.
Yeah sure if we want to talk about 2-Factor then I gotta throw a nod to Authy.
GoogleAuth is a nice app. I used it for a long time and I was hesitant to try anything else because I figured I was happy. However after some talking I did end up swithing to
Here's why
Google Auth is great but there's a few sites that are authy only tht don't support Google Auth like HumbleBundle. Authy however is completely compatible with every site that uses Google Auth.
I lost my phone. With Google Auth I had to dial into reset mechanisms because there's no way to transfer my Auth app credentials to a new phone. There's no way to have it more than one phone. Authy is tied to your phone number (which I'm not the biggest fan of) but that means you can have authy on two phones at once so if you have a work and personal phone or a good phone and a tablet or whatever both work.
Authy has a widget. I don't remember if Google Auth has a widget but Authy has a nice widget that lets me dial up my OTP from my home screen.
Authy has a chrome extension. You can debate the merits of having a none phone verified OTP but having the option is nice. I use it.
UI. A lotof poeple complain about google UI on the auth app and I didn't hate it. I was fine. But Authy is definitely better.
African students in China usually have pretty rough experiences if history serves correct. The country's government is also rather uncomfortable with the "visible" population of African migrants in Guanghzou.
Sure, America has plenty of racial problems, but it's still a far better place for black immigrants/exchange students than anywhere in East Asia or Europe.
I added a sub wiki on internet privacy recently to the sidebar; the EFF link is pretty detailed too, though should probably change the penultimate line to calling rather than writing your representatives. I might add another section on opsec, infosec, persec etc at a later date.
I think for r/DNM users and perhaps other subs, the first rule should be lots of commonsense (your Tails/Tor internet accounts should be completely separate from the one used in your regular browser, and don't serialize your escapades online) which our protagonist failed to follow despite bragging about honing down the technical aspects of 'darknet'. A lot of information can be obtained from what or how we write... most regulars here are familiar with how most of us write and what topics we (including myself) typically respond to, it's even easier for a computer.
If it's android based apps you're going to want to look towards using Java then. For a website would you consider moving away from MS based webservers and possibly using python and flask? You can easily get a free year on amazon webservices. Google cloud engine or digital ocean are also options as well if you're willing to get to grips with unix systems.
Your point on #1 reminds me of this article I read the other day about people being surprised the daquan meme on black twitter was being made popular by some white girl. It mainly focused on comedy instead of music, but it applies here as well.
It's actually worse than that.
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/wealth-of-black-families-has-disappeared-2011-02-09
>The figures are shocking. In 2001, the median net worth of a white family stood at $124,600. For blacks, the median wealth was $12,500. For every dollar of wealth owned by the typical white family, the typical black family had 10 cents. Remember, these are figures for middle-class families.
>By 2007, the median wealth for white families hit $143,600, thanks to the housing bubble and a stock-market rally. But blacks were left behind. They don’t own many financial assets, and they missed out on the housing bubble almost completely. Their net worth fell to $9,300. For every dollar of capital owned by middle-class whites, middle-class blacks had 6 cents.
>Then things got even uglier. By 2009, the typical white family had $94,600 in wealth, compared with $2,200 for blacks, according to an analysis by economist Edward Wolff. Blacks had 2 cents on the dollar.
I wouldn't mind them doing it if they were clever with how they described it. Some nuance and wordplay goes a long way.
I mean R. Kelly had some brilliantly sex-ridden songs but he'd usually throw something in there. Everyone can't have songs as explicit as 2 Live Crew, that's now how a genre works.

Black castor oil (not jamaican black castor oil, it's a sham and contains more chemicals than they advertise), I oil my scalp with it once a week and only wash my hair when I get a retwist (every 6-8 weeks), that helped with a lot of my dandruff/dry scalp and by keeping my scalp clear my hair grew thicker and stronger. I don't use it on my hair directly, just topically to the scalp. I realized that hair is dead cells so it can't really actively absorb anything or be brought back to life, so I turned my attention towards the scalp because a clear, clean, moisturized scalp will help with good hair growth, like a plant. But, just like you can over water a plant, you can overwash your scalp, so it's about finding that balance.
Sorry if this sounds dumb but do you mean Bump Control or Bump Patrol?

in short. I'm a big fan of genre fiction. Fantasy, Sci-Fi, urban paranormal romance, all that jazz. Game of Thrones as I was reading it basically billed itself as this Fantasy Epic. Now I went into this before the show started.. the summer before so the buzz I had was just from book readers who regarded it as a beloved series. I read it and I kept waiting for the fantastic elements to appear. It opened with these special dire wolves after a preamble scene which hinted at a greater fantastic enemy to come. And the entire book just never delivered. I was four chapters past it and still expecting Sansa's wolf to show up and come back to life, because clearly those wolves were going to play an important part on the family's journey. Nah. I finished the book still in this "waiting" mindset.
After finishing I did something I don't often do. I said no. I'm a completionist. I try to finish the series I read. Notable exceptions include the Wheel of Time (simply because I don't want it to end.. it's that... BIG to me). And other series I've won on GoodReads but only have the first book and it's difficult to obtain the others for whatever reason. But Game of Thrones is maybe one of two book series that I've deliberately stopped reading. The other was just horrific. So bad it's made me afraid to try free Amazon books and I've had some of my best books have been from free Amazon.
they'll probably just tap in Sanderson like they did with Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time.
At first I was like.. so who is this random Sanderson and why should I care about his books. Eventually I did read a Sanderson book and I was.. unimpressed. It was good but not "We want you to finish WOT" good. Turns out it was his Young Adult book which was better than Patterson's garbage. Anyway one day Amazon had a Sanderson book for free. Good lord it was good. It was so epic, so good. It changed my world. If I was in high school when this series was coming out my primary user handle would come from it instead of Wheel of Time. On TOP of that. Sanderson is a bloody machine. He cranks out these epic well written books and he cranks them out regularly which in the literary world is lightning fast.
I understood after reading that book why they choose him. Because he writes good, he writes big and he's a closer.
yeah but i don't consider student prices worth considering. Not because it's not a good deal. Student deals are often good deals but they're ultimately temporary. It's like when you get a cable deal it's nice and well but when 6 months are over and that prices comes back up suddenly the math that made it better than competitor may not work.
I know you were not suggesting it but I don't at all understand the desire to use Spotify as a podcast catcher because from the outside there's no way it gives anything but a terrible experience. Spotify is like the last place I'd go to organize and sort out my podcasts. (For the record I'm settled quite well in PA
As for the rest.. ehh I mean I hear you and I'm not gonna say you're wrong but personally I don't see the value in that being worth the consistent monthly payments.
Left of Karl Marx: The Political Life of a Black Communist Claudia Jones by Carole Boyce Davis and Black Skin, White Masks by Frantz Fanon. I gave up on reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X its like the third time I've tried reading it.
I would suggest you hold off CTCI. It is difficult if you do not have algorithms and data structures already understood. My advice would be to pick up The Algorithm Design Manual from amazon or download the ebook version. Then when it comes to data structures, depending the on the language you are learning you could go through that languages website. For example, Oracle has a great begineer guide to Java to get you understanding Strings, Arrays, List, Maps, and various other Collections.
I am reading Mindset by Carol Dweck.
The book talks about fixed mindset vs growth mindset.
Personally, I suffered from the "smart syndrome" and never put in work. This has led me to making sure everything I do is perfect and hating challenges thinking it's a lot of work since I am used to doing the bare minimum work and passing. All these traits were of the fixed mindset.
Growth mindset is the belief that you can have rare and valuable skills by putting in effort and not shying away from failure and discomfort when it comes to stretching your brain.
Is success about learning[growth mindset] or proving you're smart[fixed mindset]?
What sort of relationships do you want, one that challenges you to grow[growth mindset] VS one that bolsters your ego[fixed mindset]?
I am not done finishing the book and will be welcoming a lot of challenges I have been avoiding so as not to bruise my ego.It is eye opening.
I will definitely recommend to anyone who wants to make great leaps in their career, personal life or [insert sth important].
>“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
― Sun Tzu, The Art of War
The Spellmans interview with NPR was revealing: HBO mishandled the PR and the show’s been criticized based on speculation.
> "First thing to tell everybody is what the project is not," says Malcolm Spellman. "The project is not antebellum imagery, it's not whips, it's not plantations, it's not a celebration or pornography for slavery. And, most importantly, it's not an entire nation of slaves."
> Instead, the couple says, the series will likely feature an America divided, where the South has a system which looks like Apartheid-era South Africa. The goal, they say, is to show how today's problems with racial issues — over-policing of black people, disenfranchisement through voter I.D. laws, lack of representation at the highest level of power — is rooted in the nation's legacy of slavery.
Harris’ remarks also come after HuffPost profiled an Orange County mother who was arrested and vigorously prosecuted under the 2011 law. Orange County’s district attorney touted the woman’s arrest as part of a gang prevention effort; in reality, her 11-year-old daughter was missing school because of chronic illness.

What does a social worker have to do with a fucking prosecutor oppressing people, including those of color? You can't be the top law dog in a racist, evil criminal justice system and be doing good things.
Yeah, it gets complicated when you have this level of intersection of artists, their characters, and their style of portraying ethnicity.
One thing that helps me is seeing this Japanese textbook about American history: http://www.openculture.com/2018/11/a-japanese-illustrated-history-of-america.html
On a serious note, I've been trying to find INFOabout this pic but all I can find is the year (1950) and the location (Jackson, MS).
You should check out the podcast he's co-hosting about the 2020 election, titled Worst Year Ever: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-worst-year-ever-49377032/
I found Cody and Robert Evans separately, so it was a great surprise to have them work together now.
Alright...this smells like a trap for pedants, but I'll spring that motherf**ker.
Doctor Who. Don't come in here abbreviating. Put some respeck on The Doctor's name.
Also, Red Dwarf is the shit. Craig Charles and his radio show turned me on to Northern soul.
Here's what worked for me.
1.) No more straight razors. Never again. Buy some "lectric shave" and use your clippers. Wash your face with ambi when you're done. Dry off, and apply some ambi face lotion
2.) Apply some conditioner(maybe this one ) to your beard before you go into the shower. Comb it out of your beard in the shower.
3.) After you dry your beard, apply some tea tree oil. Comb through your beard, then brush through in the same direction. (More than likely, the direction will be down)
4.) Shape ups every week. Find a barber shop. Every friday or saturday go there have have him/her shape up your beard. Worst case scenario, get a cut buddy and do it yourself.
I didn't even know about the book originally and i didn't actually hate Think like a Man. Yeah I agree Steve Harvey's a bit of an idiot but beyond that I'm not opposed to a movie he makes like I'm opposed to TP.
[Happy Death Day 2U]()
I mean there was a concerted effort by many black american leaders towards the actual religion. Im on my phone otherwise I'd link you to a source or two. Many black americans practicing islam is rooted in creating a black identity.
Edit: cant link you directly but check out the contributions of wallace muhammad to the nation, and how he pushed them toward sunni orthodoxy.
Edit 2: Here's a nice piece. Chapter 6 of The Lost-found Nation of Islam is helpful too
Why not link to the programme rather than that pretty useless page?

welp... I haven't his the 10k limit in a while but I did here. So my final remark is that KeePass is free and open source. That's FOSS for those not in the know.
P.S. Also.. if it's just reddit. I probably could have just showed my RES settings. Reddit Enhancement Suite is a must have for reddit. and among it's many features it allows for switching between user accounts in under three seconds. It's super slick, it's super easy. It's just has it's own issues if you rely on it for saving passwords. Which is fine and struggles when you need to use reddit account on mobile or another computer.
Go to the library and see if they have laptops available for check out, store your computer work in the cloud. Don't put yourself in debt for a computer.
For books, look into https://libgen.is/, purchase used or buy them, scan them at the library, return them. Look at your local Half Priced Books, don't purchase books for the school itself. They will usually try to profit off of you.
If you have no credit then you can get a starter credit card. Be sure to pay it off every month and to use it every month. It doesn't matter if it's just for small purchases, just needs to show credit activity and payments.
And even of the 20% who actually realize profits at all, how many of those are programmers of some sort who are analyzing the market in a way no human being is capable of? You have better odds playing blackjack. Do what you want with your money, but realize that for the vast majority of people it will not work out.
A ~~winter's~~ widow's peak is the little patch of hair that is in center of your natural hairline.
Cant find a image of a black man wit it. My little brother calls it the vampire hairline.
I do a simple line up myself after two weeks ago with my hair clippers, Andis the ones most black barbers use.
well according to my list I've seen over 40 movies this year not including the 3 extra times I saw Black Panther or the many films I rewatched. But if we're restricting to the movies released in 2018 then...
Where | Title | Thoughts |
---|---|---|
theatre | Black Panther | no question |
theatre | A Quiet Place | heard the buzz early. was still surprised. enjoyed. |
theatre | Avengers Infinity War | i hate the last death you see on camera. but overall I did enjoy the movie |
theatre | Incredibles 2 | ElastiGirl could both get it and gets my rank |
theatre | Deadpool 2 | ehh.. okay |
"Home Video" | Proud Mary | Hm... okay |
theatre | Red Sparrow | super dark, super tense, but good |
theatre | Oceans 8 | I had a great time |
theatre | Game Night | surprisingly not as trash as I feared |
Netflix | When We First Met | another surprise but mostly meh |
Netflix | Anon | surprisingly bad. way too much nudity |
Netflix | The Titan | AWESOME setup, and then utter failure |
Other films of note: Haunter, The Foreigner, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Little Shop of Horrors, Ki and Ka, The Layover
While the top is good and the bottom is bad. these are relative rankings not absolute. Hm.. not happy with how this looks I might make a table.
Master of None. https://www.netflix.com/title/80049714
Just finished watching Training Day for the first time in 14 years.
DareDevil.
Jessica Jones if you like slow paced comic book type serious.
LOL, I'm kinda busy trying to clear the Dia Angel's name if you seen just the four pics and that's it your clearly misinformed about the situation.
I'm willing to talk to you to clear this misinformation because it may be due to miscommunication. I'm kinda busy making a video compiling the situation between Vaush and Dia Angel because Vaush harassed Dia angel and slander her name while making Dia Angel out to be a Nazi.
Vaush then started a debate with a random black nationalist to hide fact that he banned and harassed Dia Angel who was a member of his community.
That's not even talking Vaush creating a Black People just for fun and then started beef because he didn't like black nationalist chat (not ethostate) just nationalist....
So once again "are you following me" do you have a Discord?
Thank You for Arguing: It's about rhetoric, essentially a manual of how to persuade people developed from the Greeks.
Demanding the Impossible: A History of Anarchism: A very large book that takes dips into all the various strands of anarchistic thought throughout history, though there's a notable lack of black anarchism.
Simple fix: exfoliate after every shave with a facial loofah buff and follow up with Skin Tight. I'd suggest using Skin Tight twice every day, even on days when you don't shave, just to keep the hair bumps down. Lastly, make sure you use a good moisturizer, as well.
Bonus: if you have fresh lemons in your home, squeeze some lemon juice into your hand and apply. Be warned, it will sting like crazy the first time, but it works amazingly well. Again, follow up with a moisturizer.
Let us know about your journey.
Late as hell, but after years of trying everything else that's already been suggested, the only thing that has prevented it for me is using depilatory products instead of shaving. I use this one in specific, as it's given me the smoothest results compared to the other varieties (and all of the powders seem to work significantly better than the creams) and in combination with a razorless shaver, my issues have basically become non-existent.
warning: this shit stinks like hell.
I sometimes get the same. I use an electric razor(never go against the grain) a wizker which is a razor bump brush , and hydrocortisone cream.
I just finished reading Black Judaism: Story of an American Movement, by James E. Landing (Amazon)
This book is a must-read for anyone interested in African-American religious history, especially since Black Judaism doesn't get much exposure when we look at our religious experience in America. The author does a good job tracing the development of Black Judaism back to the Holiness movements in Christianity and to African-American response to racism, how it ties in with Nationalism and Civil Rughts, etc. He also addresses the impact it may have had on the development of other religious movements (like Moorish Science and the NOI).
Up next is African American Religions, 1500-2000: Colonialism, Democracy, and Freedom, by Sylvester A. Johnson (Amazon)
Big goal for 2020 is flexibility. I make sure to do stretching routine when I wake up and before I go to bed. Want to open up my hips more because they are a core component to so many motions and movements both sport and every day life.
I have been using this free mobile app to get started. Just from January 1st to today I have noticed my lower back feels less tense and my posture has improved. Just gotta stick with it.
I would first purchase doctor Claud Anderon's book PowerNomics. Available on Amazon right now for $18.39. It's a must read if you're serious about practicing group economics in the black community.
"In his groundbreaking book, PowerNomics: The National Plan to Empower Black America, he places a great deal of importance on building industries in Black communities that are constructed upon group competitive advantages."
While you're waiting on the book to arrive, here's PowerNomics 27 Ways blacks can start practicing group economics today.
Enjoy, and take action!!! ✊🏿
I looked up the book, and it looks fascinating, but also telling of how the country deals with serious issues of this nature.
So you want to talk about race? by Ijeoma Oluo. Buy her a copy, have her read it. I'd even pull the "If you really love me, you'll read this." She probably won't make it through the first chapter before she starts seeing herself. It's a great introduction to intersectionality and the idea of privilege.
I bought these for my brother as a gift and he liked them:

Not vegan yet, but this is a book I've heard about.
If you really like his work you can purchase this book about him on Amazon.
The fuck? Obama released a book two months before the election in 08. Hillary released a book in 2016 two moths before the election. People release books before elections. It’s a thing. You see what I mean about reaching?
Edit: here’s the links to the books. Check the release dates
