I started my exercise programme (no gym):
Riding my cruiser to the city Central Market on Saturday (5kg return weight) and then to the liquor store on Sunday (25kg return weight); and
Two circuits of "7 minute workout" in a hydrotherapy pool. ==> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.popularapp.sevenmins&hl=en
Lost the weight on /r/keto so now I'm working on my fitness.
The only other suggestion I can make is the 7 minute workout. Not exactly what you were after being only 7 minutes but it will give you ideas of things like squats, russian twists, leg lifts that may be more in line with what you are after.
Sorry that I couldn't give you response of exactly what you were after, these are just a few things that work for me.
There's loads of free(mium) seven-minute workout apps on Google Play. I'm using this one at the moment, which integrates with Google Fit, unlike the alternatives.
Start small - 7 min workout
If you try to jump in and do a 45 minute workout 4 days a week, it's going to be very tough. Going from 0 to 60 immediately is tough! Easing into things makes it much easier.
I struggled with the same thing. What I've done is committed to trying to do a 7 minute workout (using this app) every second day, at a specific time.
Make sure you warm up and stretch too, to prevent injury.

Commit to one week
It helped me to say 'for the next week, I'll exercise every second day, starting today'. This means you're not committing to a lifetime of this new activity, which can be scary, and prevent you from starting. Once that week is up, commit to another week, and so on. Hopefully, once you start seeing the benefits, you'll keep going!

What will the immediate and short term benefits be?
It helped me to sit down and figure out the immediate and short term benefits of working out. That way, on days where I don't want to do it

Do it once, and see how you feel
Exercise can be tough, but after doing it once, you may feel the relaxed feeling I mentioned above, as well as a sense of accomplishment.
What if I told you that for less than 20 minutes per day of discipline you could steadily make progress towards feeling better?
Exercise and meditation have considerable, well documented benefits, and you only need a small time commitment for each to get some benefit.
With only 7 minutes per day, you can follow a high intensity interval training program like this and steadily gain benefit. Can you grit your teeth and push yourself as hard as you can for 7 minutes a day?
You can easily start meditating with a 10 minute per day commitment by following the free intro course in an app like this.
Both of these things can make an enormous difference to how you feel on a daily basis. I've gone from spending my days in self-loathing, to feeling genuinely good most of the time, and reigniting a child like curiosity for the world where I can get lost just looking at light shimmering off of leaves on a tree. It has been an incredible journey. Good luck.
Dude. Download this app and do this workout at least a few times per week, like every other day. More if you can, but try to do at least every other day.

The great thing about this workout is that it's over really quickly -- you don't even have time to start thinking about quitting because it's so fast. It's called the '7 minute workout' because there's 7 minutes of exercise but with 10 second breaks between 30 second intervals. So it lasts just under 9 minutes.
I suspect some people will say it's not possible to get a good workout in this short of a time, to which I say bullshit because I do it, and I've definitely had benefits of losing weight and getting stronger.
It's all body weight workout. It might be hard at first and you might not even make it through each 30 second interval, but if that happens, just go through the whole thing as hard as you can. And then do it again like every other day.
This workout is great especially as a whole body workout -- it is designed to work out all of your muscle groups and with no equipment needed (other than a wall, a chair, and the floor).
I use an android app called 7 minute workout ==> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.popularapp.sevenmins&hl=en
> consists of only 12 exercises to be done for 30 seconds, with 10 second breaks between each exercise. All you need is a chair and a wall. Repeat 2-3 circuits depending on how much time you have.
I try to make it a point to visit the gym every alternate day at the office. But, there is essentially no motivation to hit the gym on scheduled days (oh, not having a girlfriend won't count as motivation I think).
I have a restricted diet almost everyday, so any day by the evening I have exceeded my intake, I try to compensate by hitting the gym.
Even if you miss the gym because of unforeseen office schedules or just lack of motivation, try the 7-minute workout app at home. Try 2-3 rounds of this or as many as you can.
I would suggest the 7-Minute Workout (that app is for android, there is an iOS version as well). It uses your body weight and only requires a sturdy chair.
Sounds like you need to incorporate a lot more variety into your workout. Check out this article for ideas. Also, I personally like this app for a guided routine and I try to focus on form and up'ing the time spent on each exercise more than # of reps.
For your diet make sure you're getting in all your daily macro's ( 40% protein, 30%fat, and 30% carbs) from healthy sources. For building mass, split your fat and protein intake over every few hours throughout the day, but save the carbs for post-workout.
Hello! Can't really talk about "socialmaxxing" But i'm using this app instead of going to the gym rn

You only need a chair and a mat (i used a folded towel since i don't own one) to do all the excercises
Sure!

They main thing is a HIIT style set of exercises that do are 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off, for a total of 7 minutes. You can do as many sets as you have time for/feel up for and it's an easy way to get a quick workout in on a busy day with no equipment on hand.
They also have these "30 day" challenges where the workouts get increasingly more difficult through the month. I'm a checkbox checker so I've been enjoying seeing the days gets ticked off one by one :)
i use this app. i meant the routine from the study because that's meant to last a specific and short amount of time so i can go back to what i was doing as quickly as possible without beating myself up for not doing enough. but any hiit will work, it's not about the specific exercises. i have problems at night so i want to try yoga or stretching too to see of that's enough because i don't exactly want to do hiit at 3am when i want to be sleeping.
i thought tabata was a running intervals thing but when i search that on the app store hiit workouts come up so idk. is that what you did or was it running intervals?

I've been using the 7 Minute Workout App to get my blood going in the morning. Decent full-body, no-equipment workout. The app lets you change up the order, durations for sets and rest, and has a couple of different workouts to choose from
I'm currently trying out the 7 minute exercises. I haven't gotten through the 7 minutes because I had so much trouble breathing.
I cant exactly say that it is good but if you want to lose weight quickly walk about 10-20 k (in one go) and only eat enough to stop you from passing out you'll shed the pounds fairly quickly. Before a hike I was 10 st and I lost 1.5 st in 18 hours overnight so you burn fats just staying warm and about 30k competitive walking hiking and also just try these sort of things : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.popularapp.sevenmins&hl=en_GB https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/7-minute-workout-seven-high/id650276551?mt=8 personally I've used the android app and its brilliant this will help either lose or keep the weight off..... Also DONT drink fizzy drinks just stay to water and coffee or tea (not too much milk as it is fattening)
Thanks!
I'm starting work back up again next week so I've been fairly inactive recently. Over the summer, I also work a desk job so it's a bit of a hindrance. What I did during down time were a few desk exercises to keep myself active. I also downloaded the 7 Minute Workout App and tried to knock that out as well. I also took a few small steps into making sure I do everything possible to hit that 10,000 step goal. Park my car a little further, walk up the stairs and all those small little things. Believe me, they do add up.
As for your treadmill dilemma, I always go for an hour. I was able to knock out two and a half episodes of Always Sunny. More often than not, I wanted to finish the episode so I extended the workout time for a little while longer.
If you want a little bit of a boost, I can add you on Fitbit for a little friendly competition. My new band comes in some time next week so I'm definitely looking to get back into it.
Hopefully you meet your goals! You can totally do it!
OK. Today is a good day. Nothing in particular happened but it is a good day.
I've struggled with physical and mental problems all my life. Earlier this year it was too much and I freaked out at work and damn near lost my job. So, I went to a therapist and have been working on my issues. I also started making a better effort in getting my weight down.
Well, today, I'm down 17 pounds (263 > 246) since January 1st and feel great. I started running on the treadmill and am doing about 10 or 12 miles a week, spread over three days. I've actually thought about going more because I actually enjoy it now. I've even thought about doing my first 5k. My goal would be 45 minutes which I don't think would be a bad time for a first time runner.
I also use an app called 7 Minute Workout (link goes to Google Play Store just because I have Android) to help with the rest of my body. I've gone from like five pushups to now being able to do 15 in 30 seconds. True it isn't a huge workout but I've noticed major improvements.
7 minute workout use timed gif or app (there are other aternative apps on store.)

and meditation.
P90 took me from 225 to 115, but I was aiming for the featherlight femme look (I also dress sorta like Stevie Nicks circa 1975, so it fits together.) I was a size 22 and now I am a size 4.
After I lost the weight and gained some working-out stamina, I did Team Beachbody's Brazil Butt Lift. They guarantee it's a nonsurgical ass lift and that's exactly what it does.
My fiancee (fairly butch) also did P90, but she went and did Body Beast afterwards since she was more interested in what she could get her body to do than whether her ass looked wonderful in yoga pants. :-P Body Beast requires a weight set, tho. She picked hers up at a resale sporting goods shop on the cheap.
Now I maintain with a 7 minute workout app on my phone.
He uses 7 minute workout.

I personally like the 30 day challenges
The Seven Minute Workout, eating a nice breakfast and drinking a lot of water, showering and brushing your teeth.
They are all pretty similar, this one works fine https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.popularapp.sevenmins&hl=en

>It would be best to see a therapist but I know not all of us have access to that.
I'm hoping to start therapy again later this month. Still waiting to see if my insurance can cover the one I'm looking at, since it's otherwise super expensive.
>Maybe just start small? Saw that you've got knee problems so maybe just taking walks or going swimming would be helpful.
My knee problems are recent and really just intermittent. For example, they felt fine yesterday, but I woke up today and they're kind of in pain. Hoping that once I see a doctor about it next month, I can start to address this problem.
>Sometimes, just getting out of the house and breathing fresh air helps with mental health (at least, it did with mine).
I go for walks now and again, and they help sometimes. I'm an overthinker, so it's just as easy for me to go on a walk and start to spiral in the opposite direction.
>How mobile are you and what kind of exercises are you able to do now?
I walk quite a bit throughout the day most days (I teach in a large school, and on a day I don't spend grading I get upwards of 15k steps in without really trying). Swimming seems difficult; most places I looked for a pool around here get pricey, and I'm nowhere near a lake. Yay, Texas?
>I love strength training so that could be an option for you?
I hate traditional strength training and find it boring. I do some, anyway - I have some weight sets at home - but I wouldn't say I keep regularly with any particular program. Maybve once a week. I have a bunch of body weight exercises from Darebee that I probably do a little more often (it's easier to do bodyweight stuff on-the-spot), and I try to do 7-minute workouts on my lunch breaks maybe a couple times a week. That's all based on some real rough estimates, though; there have definitely been weeks where I do one exercise, or none at all.
> And instead of jumping to counting calories, maybe just start making better food decisions, like getting sugar-free/lighter options.
I try to, most of the time. I went through a big phase this past year where I ordered out a lot, and that's no bueno. I still do from time to time, and I notice that I do it on days when I'm typically very tired and feel (mentally/emotionally) at a low point. I get guilty, too, and that doesn't help.

That all said, I don't really eat junk food. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies and nuts and seeds (I have a homemade trail mix in my classroom that helps stave off hunger on days when, say, I have to work through lunch...or am just, y'know, hungry), though I also admittedly also cook "easy" stuff like pasta more often than I probably should, too.
You have to exercise every day. That's key. Start easy and do the 7 minute workout 2x a day, (apple app android app) once in the morning and once at night (even if you are bone tired after a few days that feeling will go away), and go for a 20 minute walk if you can during the day. Also get 7-8 hours of sleep at least. You will be amazed at how much energy you will have. When I do this it works every time.
Try doing calisthenics. I've been using this one for years, since it doesn't require anything besides a yoga mat / towel. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.popularapp.sevenmins
If you're looking for ideas I have some suggestions. I am a couch potato who prefers bodyweights and activities to the gym. Been doing HIIT and the 7 min exercises. There are a number of apps out there that you could start with maybe? A friend recommended this one to me recently and I quite like it.
I also enjoy dance and do pole, which is way more enjoyable to me than lifting weights. I also follow several IGers for #fitspo haha. Some have their own training programmes (with and without weights) so maybe you'll find one that you enjoy. Check out @beverleycheng @trainlikeaballerina and @lillysabri
Do you think apps like these are a decent approach to that?
i used to use 7 minute workout https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.popularapp.sevenmins it's pretty legit for a quick workout!
