Despesas Sociais:
- 4 x Jantar = 4 x ~30€ = ~120€
- Teatros/Cinema/XmasInTheNight/etc. ~ 80€
- Roupa/Cortes de Cabelo/etc.: ~50€
- Outros: ~50€
- Ginásio: 0€
Total: ~ 300€

Checkout Money Manager by Realbyte. I've tried virtually every popular budget tracking application on playstore but always come back to Money Manager for its extreme simplicity.

if you use android(search similiar app on ios)
i use that app to track and budget everything for income and expense to small detail. you can create account for everyting (cash, prepaid card, bank, dll)
i write this because i use excel before and not satisfied.
I personally use Money manager for tracking my expenses. They don't have capping on no. of "accounts" AFAIK (consider "account" as a broad category), so you can create accounts for each family member and track accordingly.

There's a free version that I used for months, but recently picked up the paid one (one time unlock fee of $5.49) because I wanted the PC editing feature.
It's really not something you can compare to something like Mint in the US or Pocketsmith, but in app form, its really good if you like to log your expenses yourself. Some features that I liked were:
budgeting by category, and shows current month's status vs budget.
auto renew recurring expenses (Netflix/Gym etc)
Can split payment type by specific bank/debit/credit card if you take the time to set it up (Highly recommended)
Reminders of when credit card bills are due and what amount.
CSV extract so you can do some charts/graphs etc on PC if you prefer, but the app also has a beautiful pie chart breakdown of expenses by categories.
Go for the free version, play store link is here.
Track your spending and then analyze it to cut the fat.
If you can get your bank to send a text message every time you swipe your card, the app Money Manager will read the text and save it. It's by a Korean company and optimized for Korean bank sms. Works great for my KB account.

Along with your method you can use below app. I'm using it since couple of months. It doesn't sync up with sms or bank statement one needs to manually put details in it.

This is the one I use and it's the best I have tried out of several. You can easily with 3 inputs record your expenses, income, and transfers. You can set it up to be as simple or complicated as you want with categories and subcategories.
Money Manager App!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree&hl=en
I've been using it for two months now. January I managed to get to 4 days before pay day before running out of money. And this month, with pay day being 3 days away from today, I'm going to manage to make it to exactly pay day with the cash I have left.
I'm hoping next month I'll actually make it with some money to spare.
Seriously, being able to see what you spend on and how much money you have left all the time makes a big difference in your spending because you become extremely aware of how and what you are spending on.
If it's for your smartphone, I highly suggest Money Manager Expense & Budget. I have tried all finance apps on Android and this is the only one that has met my standards.
I have been using money manager (link below) for more than three years now. It is free and quite reliable with a simple interface. You can also download the data as excel and play around off the app.
I tried few apps that I can connect bank account but I prefer manual entry as it gives me more control. What I am lacking is a bit more visualization as I am bit of a data freak myself.

Hi, I'm an auditor and if personal money mo lang naman you could just use money manager (free lang sa playstore). Easy to use, pwede ka din mag-generate ng reports dun and graphs/charts to visualize what happened to your money.
Here's the one I use. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree&hl=en&gl=US
Yo uso Registro Contable y funciona espectacular.
There are plenty of mobile apps that can help you keep track. It might be difficult and some work at first but it will soon become a habit. I use this one. I had the same problem but keeping accurate record helps.
Let me knownif this works:

Open a high street bank account (e.g., Natwest) to apply for a credit card and mortgage.
The alternative option to high street banks are challenger banks (e.g., Monzo, Starling). Most people who can't open high street banks start with these. Some people use them for managing their expenses.
Many use Revolut account for investing.
Vanguard has reasonable prices for Stocks and Shares.
Follow the wiki and the flowchart (like you mentioned)
I use Money manager to manually track my expenses. In terms of crypto, most banks are crypto friendly. I would recommend to use a isolated bank account for crypto, forex and investment in general (e.g., Revolut). Vanguard is good for stocks and shares.
I use money manager to track my expenses however I am looking for an alternative where I don't have to not down everything manually.
I use this one.

There may be other ones which may be even better, but this one works very well for me and now I'm fully invested so it would be hard to switch.
Evo i preporuke od mene za aplikaciju. Besplatna, lepo organizovana, pregledna.

It's simple. I've used it for years. Really basic though, no comnection to bank and other finance service.
Try Money Manager Expense & Budget. I think it have some of what you need (Notes, Descriptions & Photo). The desktop version require the full version but its a one-time payment.

Voting for Money Manager too. I paid for the premium version because ad-free and PC manager was worth it for me. I hardly ever use the PC function except to mass edit (retrospective categorization of expenses, etc), but nice to have the option
As others have mentioned, you do need to make it a habit in order to do it long term. One thing that has helped me tremendously is to use a simple expense tracker app which gives me the freedom to tweak things manually, while at the same time, being quick and simple enough to not get in the way in day-to-day usage.
Having tried many apps, MoneyManager is where I found my sweet spot (Link here) . Aside from privacy concerns of giving an application access to my messages, I don't trust the automatic handling of expenses part (lots of issues like double tracking as OP mentioned). So now I manually enter every single expense (and yes, that includes a 10rs tea as well) as soon as I've paid. Having done this for more than 2 years now, it's second nature and doesn't require any active thinking on my part.

I've used this for almost 3 years to jot down where my money come and go. Plus, freedom to add as many of your account (be it your wallet, investment or savings under your bed) and also to manually add unlimited types of transactions is a bonus.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree
Although this was some years ago, this is the one that I used. App name: "Money Manager Expense & Budget". This link is for Google Play Store. If you're on iOS, then search up any budget tracker app from Apple Store.
Personally, I have moved to budget tracking on Excel sheets. Because I don't trust free apps, as they most likely share data or are open to data/security theft risks.
I've been using the Money Manager Expense & Budget for over 2 years now. I used the expense data of my 1st year to form my budget, basically taking the average amount of expenses in each category (food, entertainment, household, transportation) as the budget for each category.
The app tells me how far I spent on my budget today (eg. it's the 28th and I've only spent 70% of my budget on food), so I get to stay within my budget pretty well since I can either cut down or spend more according to how much I've left for the month.
As for keeping track of my accounts, I usually update all my account balances (savings, investments) on the 5th of every month when the account statements are posted. This helps me keep track of my net worth.
I use Money Manager Android. Disclaimer: No automation, but I like it that way. Provides reports. And no website but you can add the functionality of backing up the data to GDrive. There are different accounts/categories/sub-categories and everything customisable. Very simple.
Also can be used in a PC on same wifi using local-hosted server on your android.
Glad to hear it was helpful for you.
I've used various different apps over the years, but I've been using Money Manager Expense & Budget for the past two years and it really fits the bill for everything I need. There's a paid for version -- one off payment -- that enables Quick add notification bar and PC editing.
PC editing is a nice feature, but I really only use it to conveniently grab this months transactions, export as a csv file and put that into my spreadsheet at the end of the month.
I'd say give the free version a try and if you like it consider supporting and upgrading to the paid version.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree
I use this one. It extracts exchange rate. But doesn't always look real for me. I'd like to choose the source of conversion rate+manually add the rate.
But I cannot choose which currency to summarize after I set my base currency
I live in Germany and use this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree
No fancy graphs etc. And also no bank connection. But reliable and easy to use, has a function to import data to excel. Would switch to another app only if it is possible to connect N26.
It would help if you linked the app since there are many apps named 'Money Manager'.
What I've been using is the one from Realbyte Inc.:
If this is the one you're talking about, there are also features which you can unlock by simply sharing your code with other users like the PC manager (allows you to access the app via browser on your PC) and unlimited account numbers.
When you share your code, you and the other person who used it get a point which you can use to unlock either of the features I mentioned. It's an easy way to unlock paid content for free.
You can try money manager, using it for the 4th year now. The stats and graphs are so useful.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree&hl=en
I like phone apps more since i carry a phone with me most of the time.
Try money manager. You decide how detailed you want to be. The easiest way i found is to have just one source account defined in the app regardless how many real bank accounts i have as well as money on hand. I just didnt care where the money came from whether from checking or savings or wallet. Just cared about income, spent, and budget per item or category. I also do monthly only meaning every month i reset. I just add the remaining fund from last month to the income of the new month.
On the actual bank accounts/wallets. I separate expense from savings. So you know everytime if nauubos na ang fund for expense mo.
Budgeting is essential to reaching your goal. You would discover y Oo can actually save more than you think. It also take away the guilt of buying something when you know its in the budget. Good for you starting it.
I'll suggest "Money Manager". It is editor's choice. I'm using this app from almost 3 months and the reports of expense and income can be exported in excel and breakdown is quite detailed and it has accounts like cash & bank. Quite feature packed. Check it out on your own. ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree
If it's any help, use a budget and expense tracker on your phone/PC. I personally use one and it gives me an excellent picture of my spending and indicates which expense groups I need to cut down on as the month goes by. If used diligently (i.e. entering expenses without fail), it can greatly help you manage your budget. It was so useful to me that I bought the pro version just to support the developers.
What I use: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree

Spendee has a recurring expenses/income option with a work days setting but it has it start the week on Monday and ends on Friday and doesn't allow me to change that. So the recurring expenses is rendered useless. But I find it useful for adding transport costs that happen every work day
Edit: do you mean this one ?
I see. I'm doing the same but I'm using this app instead of a spreadsheet. It's a great app. You can see your expenses, income, savings etc. I've been using the app for 2 years now.
EDIT: I did start building the spreadsheet though but I don't think it's something I can maintain on my phone. I think I'll just use it in computing for my monthly budget.
highlight :
I was a longtime user of Financius but it hasn't been updated for a while now and the app backup is woozy and there's no restore feature. So looking for alternative I found this app. The free version is a good start if you want to test ( I might be going to get the paid version to remove ads) the features.
I dont think there are any that link up to UK bank accounts directly.
As for what I use, I like MoneyManager, its on the simpler end of things so might not be what you're looking for.
What expense tracker and budgeting app are you using?
2017 wasn't a terrible year, but I was clearly not fully controlling my spending. I think I need BUDGETING, instead of just expense tracking. I used Money Manager and while I think it's awesome to track and review past expenses, it's terrible with budgeting for future spending. I'm looking for alternatives. Problem: I've installed 7 apps so far, and none seems to be what I want... So I figured I might just ask here for recommendations. Expense Manager comes very close to what I want in terms of Budgeting, but is not good at displaying past transactions.
TL;DR: I want an app that combines the tracking features of Money Manager with the Budgeting of Expense Manager (or even more advanced). Can you help me?
These are the features I want:
Accurate tracking: beeing able to name a transaction, ideally to tag it to keep track of projects
Fast tracking: virtual keyboard where there is an "enter key" that takes me to the next field of the input mask (I hate extra taps to get an extra window with input fields for detailed info)
Categories with subcategories
Advanced/filtered budgets: I can need to set weekly/monthly/yearly budgets with one or multiple categories/subcategories.
Visual Budget progress indicators: for example as widget or when using the app. I want to see how much I'm spending as many times as possible.
Ideally, a fast way to adjust monthly budgets (e.g. if I overspend 30$ on this, I can fastly adjust a different category)
A good interface for reviewing old transaction of a given month (like this, I really like how Money Manager deals with it and knowing what exactly I spend the money on helps me understand what went wrong)
Export to excel (in order to archieve after the end of the year)
Other nice bonuses would be the possibility to link it to my european bank account, import my old Money Manager data and the possibility to export my future data in a way that it can be used with other apps if I change again
Do you happen to be using an app that has all (or most) of this?
Thanks! :-)

Ciao, io uso https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realbyteapps.moneymanagerfree e mi trovo molto bene
I have android as well and I use money manager. I love it! Been using it for several years.
On the back of this, there's no reason not to look into multiple current and savings account from different banks, to maximize the interest. Look into current account cycling (I can't think of the correct term at the minute): Bank Account Savings Calculator.
Basically you set up multiple current accounts to maximize the interest up to the limit of each account, and have the pay in amount cycling from one account to the next by direct debit. You've got much more than necessary in a current account getting you now benefit.
Similarly do the same with savings accounts that give you good interest. This guarantees you the interest rate promised. If you want to look I to something that introduces risk, Vanguard S&S ISA is a good option to set up a passive index tracker (S&P500, FTSE100, etc.)
This to remember/be aware of: * You can only have one cash ISA for the financial year * Look for accounts that don't need to be your main account (i.e. where your wages get paid into). Plenty accounts will allow you to just pay in £xxxx per month, you can transfer it immediately back out into the next one. * There is a tax free personal allowance for savings and interest (£1,000 if I recall correctly) * Is you're going down the route of S&S, plan to save what you won't touch for 5 years (see Tony Robbins - Unshakeable for a great introduction and overview to S&S) * LISA allows you to save £4,000 per year, and get £1,000 tax back from the government to that account. The penalty for lifting from that LISA is 25%, so you'll lose the tax benefit PLUS losing some of your money. Only put into the LISA money that is for a house or retirement (ideally don't use it for retirement, it's a terrible retirement vehicle)
You're doing great, so keep on at it! Irresponsible spending is wracking up debt and living beyond your means. If you're contributing to your pension, saving each month towards a goal, living below your means, and you want to buy yourself something to treat yourself? Do it. You've earned that. It's about decreasing the cost of living, while increasing the quality of living.
I always recommend tracking your spending, and I've helped a few friends and family by encouraging this. I've been doing this for years, and it's been a huge impact. I use an app, Money Manager. Habit creation is the big thing here. Sit down at the end of the month and look over what you've spend.
Write a zero-balanced budget at the beginning of the next month (look into Dave Ramsay) so you know where everything is going, make sure you create an allowance for you to live and enjoy things. If something comes up, you need to figure out where the money is coming from in the budget to pay for it.

This is my personal opinion.
Spend some time to really plan out your finances.
^There's probably more things to think about but that's all that's off the top of my head right now.
With these known its much easier to estimate how much you need to save each month to reach your goals. Perhaps just do a quarterly check in to see where you are at, what's changed and if you are still on track.
Tips:
The next step is to read up about investing but that's another whole mess to deal with.

Money Manager Expense & Budget
I use Money Manager.
Works quite nicely for me!
Thanks for the outreach!
Personally I am using this android app as I love the UI. I find it minimalist enough to not clutter my eyes while also informative and structured enough.
Adding expenses/incomes/transfer is super easy just a 3-4 top-down step process. Its Stats page is again simple and informative and allows you to dig deeper in some account or category if you want. Accounts list is also straightforward, and like transaction history, it's nicely color coded.
And of course it allows for backups and spreadsheet exports which I considered the most basic requirement.
In general, my usage isn't super complicated (e.g. I log expenses/movements/incomes in a daily manner, not using hours/min/secs at all, or my "budgeting method" isn't part of the app I just make the calculations and move money between my accounts), I even don't use all the features of this app. But I would like in the future to make my fin management a bit more extensive, so I'd say that the feature set of this app should be the bare minimum. But keep in mind that overcoming this (or any other) feature set may push some users away. A user would like to "see" what he needs. If you add many things in the UI, the app gets noisy for him/her and may be skipped altogether.
I recently tried to find an open source alternative to this app but I couldn't find any one to stick with. Again, I love its UI, I find it super simple and intuitive. I tried loving the Money Manager EX from F-droid, but I just couldn't. It's not for me.
I'd say a "smart" way would be for an app to be as slick and intuitive as this is (for money movements tracking and simple stats)(if you make an open source clone I wouldn't mind :p), and be paired with a desktop companion app with more advanced capabilities that could possibly be added as add-ons through some API. This way your app would cover all tastes while also being easily extensible and neat.
Anyway,
Regarding what I can see already in your site, I would like it if you had an open demo without the need for sign-up (e.g. demo user and password, with some data already inserted so as to see the app the way it would be after some time of use). Also, 50$/year (again, given that I don't know many things) seem a bit too much for me. Ideally I like FOSS projects, but knowing that the world doesn't work with just good intentions I would accept giving a 2$/month (aka about half the current price lol). But maybe I am too conservative and you already have a right price, dunno.
Good luck with the app in any case!
