Honestly, would have thought Melvin losses would be higher.
But why is Apple still censoring ratings? Robinhood has a 4.1 on the Apple app store. Where Google it is 1.1 stars. The lowest possible is 1 star so it is basically the lowest it can go.

Why is Apple manipulating the Robinshood reviews? How can RH have a 4.1 on Apple app store?
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/robinhood-investing-for-all/id938003185
Versus on the Google Play store it has a 1.1.

Why is Apple censoring?
That was just the automated filter. You can see they are there and why Robinhood has a 1.1 on Google Play Store.
Here

The problem is Apple. Robinhood has a 4.1 on the App store. I do not agree with this. They are actual people giving the 1 star so do not think Apple should be removing, IMO.

Are you talking about their android app or iPhone app?

Despesas Sociais:
- 4 x Jantar = 4 x ~30€ = ~120€
- Teatros/Cinema/XmasInTheNight/etc. ~ 80€
- Roupa/Cortes de Cabelo/etc.: ~50€
- Outros: ~50€
- Ginásio: 0€
Total: ~ 300€

You'll need to withdraw the coins to your own wallet and then you can make a payment from that.

I prefer Wallet. The free version does everything most people will probably use it for. Might want to look into their privacy policy if you are concerned about privacy (I haven't read it so I'm not sure what they collect).
One of the easiest ways to buy bitcoins is probably Coinbase.com, so I recommend that for the beginning. The markup is 1.5% over spot, tough. Bitstamp.net is cheaper 0.25%, but it's a little less user friendly, because it's just an exchange, where Coinbase is more like a broker.
If you buy, hold it. My minimum duration of holding is 3 years. The price might go down again and you don't want to lose your cool and sell at a loss. Invest what you're willing to lose and ride it out, for 3 years. The longest bear market we had until now, was about one year. Don't lock in losses.
Hold your own private keys. Buy from Coinbase or an exchange and then send the funds to an address, to which you control the private keys. As a wallet, I recommend for Android Mycelium and for iOS Breadwallet. Make sure to backup the recovery seeds before using the wallet and you're good to go. Think about using an old, factory reset Android phone or tablet you've got laying around with only the wallet app installed for added security.
I kind of wrote that above, but make backups. Write down all the passwords and seeds you need to access your bitcoins on paper, not on your computer. Store that paper with, for example, your birth certificate. Most people are able to keep paper save for decades as demonstrated by you still having your birth certificate.
How the heck did you manage to get RobinHood to 1.0 stars on Google Play? Does it show 1.0 for anyone else?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.robinhood.android
I think all the 1* votes broke things and it's not even showing the old reviews anymore haha
> I understand Hearn also made a change to the core database in bitcoin 0.8 but there was locking problems which led to a fork.
He did, however I do not think it is fair to blame him for the fork; it was quite hard to predict, and no one else saw it in review either, and it was more of a discrepancy between behaviour of leveldb and bdb than a bug. One has to doubt it would have been a bugdoor - it created a fork risk, but it was fixed, so not really the characteristics of a theft risk.
> Schildbach he's the bitcoin wallet dev, right?
Yes the Bitcoin Android wallet:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet
Richard "Gendal" Brown has written a lot of informative blog posts about blockchain, bitcoin and how they could be extended or used within finance at http://gendal.me/ if you scroll back well before R3 for example. I dont know the Barclays guy.
Checkout Money Manager by Realbyte. I've tried virtually every popular budget tracking application on playstore but always come back to Money Manager for its extreme simplicity.
I wouldn't call it "mathematically". "Statistically" would be a better term imho.
Anyway, the first wallet that implemented this scheme is Bitcoin Wallet (Android, BlackBerry).

FYI, just checked the Google Play page and I guess the censors have the weekend off.
About 100,000 new 1-star reviews made it through and dropped the app down to 1.1!!!
LMAO SUCK IT Robing Hoodz
Also Apple as they have removed even more of the 1 stars and now RH is back to a 4.7 on the Apple app store.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/robinhood-investing-for-all/id938003185
Apple has been even more aggressive than Google in removing the 1 stars.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.robinhood.android
If you have a minute, go and rate Robinhood 1 star for clear market manipulation and shady business practices. Among the other things they do like sell your order flow to MM's.
As you guys are probably aware, Robinhood is now disallowing the purchase of stocks like GME, AMC, BB, BBBY, NOK, NAKD among others. They have caved in to the institutions and are trying to fuck their users over. Fuck them.
Report them, take screenshots, rate them 1 star. But most importantly, start making the transition to a real broker and don't fucking sell.
It is extremley feature rich and also integrates with the most popular hardware wallet. So far has been very reliable (except for the latest iOS update for some users)! It is always on the forefront of new standards and idears. It can even be used with Tor on Android, you can trade Bitcoin with it, good overall UI experiance. Also interessting what they have on the list of features they like to have implemented in the future.
They do care about user experiance, user privacy, ease of use and provide regular updates.
Read about all the features here and make sure to expand the description to get the complete view.
Also Mycelium team is very much reachable here on reddit, on bitcointalk and is present at many bitcoin fares.

Ratings are allowed again on google play store for Robinhood: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.robinhood.android
I put so much emphasis on learning and teaching because while Bitcoin truly is revolutionary, if you don't know why, or you've never heard of it, it's like it never existed in the first place. Bitcoin needs people who understand what it is that can explain the problems it solves, some of which have existed since the beginning of human history. Think about that.
I looked into this some time ago as well. A lot of people are recommending bitcoin ATM's, but be aware that the service fees for these machines can be really, really high. I get it, it costs money to provide a service, but look up the rates ahead of time so you're at least aware of how much you'll be paying.
(https://coinatmradar.com/blog/bitcoin-atm-fees-2016-revision/) - This site says average in canada is 7.5%, but I recall fees in the range of 10-15%. Buyer beware.
Other suggestions - if you use Android, the Mycelium Bitcoin wallet has a Buy/Sell Bitcoin feature that can connect you with local users for cash transactions. I never used it myself, but it might be a cheaper alternative. (I found Mycelium to be a great wallet by the way - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycelium.wallet&hl=en)
Did Google delete all those negative reviews because right now Robinhood on the google app store has a 4.2 review?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.robinhood.android&hl=en_US&gl=US
I really like Wallet, it has Cloud sync. There's a premium Version but most features are in the free version anyways so there's no need for it.
It looks really nice and it's also a recommendation from the Play Store.
I suggest decentralized wallets:
Even on a rooted device there is process isolation for non-root processes. You just need to pay attention to which programs you sudo.
Having wallet encryption sure doesn't hurt. For example Bitcoin Wallet can receive coins without entering the spending PIN. Only for sending (signing) you need to know the PIN. That kind of role model is not possible with fulll disk encryption.
My Stocks Portfolio app for anyone who's curious. I highly recommend it, use it to track all my stonks as well as imaginary internet money coins.

I've tried almost every money app I came across and currently I settled with Money Lover. One app will have this, the other will have that... I was never "fulfilled", so I just came to an agreement with myself to just stick with Money Lover.
Also importing data from one app to an other is always an issue so be sure as to what you will chose because if you decide to change app at some point, it most likely be a pain in the ass to migrate if you are not willing to leave behind the past.
For your needs though and from what I know Wallet-Budget tracker might be your best bet.
I suggest truly decentralized wallets:
This has nothing to do with baseball, but I'm guessing some of the more interested parties here are probably also interested in stock market stuff. Robinhood just became public on android - no vig - 100% free trades. GET RICH, BITCH!
Disclaimer: If you can't bet baseball responsibly, don't even click the link. This is more for the research and numbers people, not for you fucking degenerates. That said, tail me on TSLA: 18u, sell @10:59am. Got some good info that they all take an early lunch on Thursdays to get handies at the local massage parlor and the stock will dip by 11:01.
It's a Coinbase error. It happens with Bitcoin Wallet as well. These two amounts are sometimes off by one Satoshi. I suspect at one point they use float for storing Bitcoin values and thus is loses full precision.
The best way to get started in my opinion is to setup up a few different types of wallets and practice sending small amounts of bitcoin between them. Setup a ChangeTip.com account for one type of wallet which conveniently connects to your Reddit and other social media accounts. Also get a mobile wallet if you have smartphone, Mycelium if you use Android or Bread Wallet if you use iPhone are the recommended choices.
Let us know if you have any questions or need help with anything.
/u/changetip 5000 bits
Yep, this is accurate! The DGB app will return to the Play Store soon! In the meantime check out Coinomi Wallet and study how to properly protect your coins! Coinomi offers everything the DGB app does, except for DigiAsset support.
Don't use a GPU to mine Bitcoin.
You need to use a special computer called an ASIC.
If you try to GPU mine Bitcoin, then your electricity bill will go up hundreds of dollars to maybe get $10 of BTC.
Your parents would rightfully murder you. Try to avoid this.
Go so some chores for some cash, then get your parents to buy Bitcoin for you. Then you give them the cash for the Bitcoin. They can use the cash app to buy Bitcoin. Then you withdraw it to your Bitcoin wallet.
I recommend using Mycelium Bitcoin wallet for Android.
Mow lawns in the summer. Wash cars. Walk dogs.
Go earn money and buy Bitcoin with that money.

if you use android(search similiar app on ios)
i use that app to track and budget everything for income and expense to small detail. you can create account for everyting (cash, prepaid card, bank, dll)
i write this because i use excel before and not satisfied.
I can add some insight on that. Today I noticed that Mycelium is currently getting installed by more Colombians than any other nation and they overtook the US some time ago. We were on slow organic growth until April 18th (that date marked a minor spike up but similar to other minor spikes before.
Country | January 1st | April 18th | May 9th |
---|---|---|---|
Colombia | 5 | 180 | 410 |
Bolivia | 0 | 3 | 33 |
Ecuador | 0 | 6 | 32 |
Mexico | 4 | 9 | 22 |
USA | 163 | 136 | 187 |
I tried to figure out what was going on, as there was no clear date at which things happened (an app getting featured at a major TV show usually results in spikes with declines) but it looks like a massive boost in general interest. Like countries waking up to Bitcoin. WTH? And why Colombia and not Brazil? Even Mexico is much slower and more following the global trend.
"We support BIP148 and node count doesn't really matter at this point. We will have our node ready in time. I personally hope we can get SegWit before August first but if Jihan wants war, I know where I stand. (lw)"
There's lots of software you can use, but the easiest thing is a web wallet. Coinbase.com is the closest to a traditional bank, or something like blockchain.info will let you manage it closer. Or you could even do a phone wallet like Mycelium.
But I don't blame you if you don't want to set anything up, it's not the most user-friendly space.
I suggest truly decentralized wallets:
Bitcoin Wallet is used by well over a million people.
I suggest decentralized wallets:
Of course there are no weekly limits with those wallets.
Either that, or try the testnet version of the particlar wallet first. Testnet coins are worthless, just for testing.
You can find the Testnet version of Bitcoin Wallet, the most popular mobile wallet, here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet_test
Related, you can now use blockchain technology on your mobile phone to do global banking, with no identity requirements. USD accounts supported.

The basic bitcoin wallet https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet
Mycelium https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycelium.wallet
There might be others but I don't know them
Perhaps you (or anyone else) would like help with the Greek transaction of Bitcoin Wallet. It's currently at 80%.
However we're unfunded and cannot offer money, only a credit in the authors list and lots of karma (-:
Don't make your wallet depend on a centralized service. I suggest decentralized wallets:
Now take your coins and move them to a wallet you control. You must always remember; "If you do not control the private keys, you do not control the bitcoin."
While your coins are on circle, they control them. Moving them to a wallet you control means you have to take responsibility to secure them and, more importantly, they are yours and no one can change that except you (intentionally or unintentionally).
Be sure to back up said wallet. If you are on android Mycelium wallet is a great choice.

So what you need is a non-custodial wallet - the one I linked is that. There are others too. On Android, langerhans' wallet is completely free of any corporate infrastructure in the middle and last time I checked someone here was working on a new iOS wallet - though I have not received the launch party invite to date, so I'm not sure where they're at with that.
I personally use Money manager for tracking my expenses. They don't have capping on no. of "accounts" AFAIK (consider "account" as a broad category), so you can create accounts for each family member and track accordingly.
They must have been really bad it then. It currently has a 1.1 on Google. See
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.robinhood.android&hl=en_US&gl=US
But on Apple it is 4X higher.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/robinhood-investing-for-all/id938003185
So is Apple just better at it?
Same with Apple. RH is now back to a 4.2 on the Apple app store. 3.4 now on the Google app store.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/robinhood-investing-for-all/id938003185
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.robinhood.android&hl=en_US&gl=US
It went back to 4.0 overnight. What the fuck?
Edit: Nevermind, looks like it backfired a little bit. People are confusing the real Bitcoin wallet with the Bitcoin.com wallet (Bcash).
I actually have a few Bitcoin wallet backups that match the description you've given. I even have one, dated 2013-08-12, that is exactly 240 bytes in size, containing upper and lowercase letters, numbers, forward slashes, plus signs, and a trailing equals sign (i.e., base64 encoding). The backup was made by the Bitcoin Wallet for Android by Andreas Schildbach.
To follow up:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycelium.wallet&hl=en
https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/mycelium-bitcoin-wallet/id943912290?mt=8
It will give you a new wallet (address) with each transaction and keep all of the old ones in case you get a refund. Wicked easy to use. Just open it, click the QR code, click "Copy to Clipboard", send from Circle to that (paste the address), open Mycelium back up, click "Send", "Manual Entry", paste in whoever you're sending it to (a source, tumbler/mixer), etc.
Awesome list. Looks like we have many apps in common!
As for a budgeting app, I recently installed Wallet - Budget Tracker and I prefer this over YNAB (also cheaper if you want the pro).
I suggest decentralized wallets:
The latest version of Bitcoin Wallet supports child-pays-for-parent for raising the fee.
Bitcoin Wallet has a format for transmitting transactions via QR code already – it was implemented back in 2011! It's mainly meant for getting a transaction to the merchant if all other methods fail (P2P network, NFC, Bluetooth), but of course it would be easy to use it for unsiigned txns as well.
Bitcoin Wallet (Android, BlackBerry) has had NFC + Bluetooth payments since 2011. Alternatively, the transaction can be transmitted via QR-Code.
Neither of the sides needs Internet connectvity, but if the payee doesn't have Internet he/she needs to trust the payer to some extent, as he/she will not see blockchain confirmations until s/he's connected again.
I'm sure you've likely resolved this already as this was posted a while ago, however I thought I would post a few links to get other people started incase they stumble across this thread.
To cut out a load of Jargon, It essentially comes down to what phone you're using.
If you have an Apple iPhone, then you should look into using Apple's built in Apple Pay.
A guide for this with Q&A's can be found here
However if you have an android (non apple) device, then it would be best to check to see if your phones manufacturer has their own app setup. Although Android is created by Google so most android phone's should accept google pay (I believe).
A Link to the Google pay app can be found here (or you can search it in your phone's app store) and the setup process will guide you through adding your bank card securely.
Once you have your card added to either app, it's simply a case of unlocking your screen and holding your phone against a card reader to make a payment :)
Just incase you wanted to rate Robinhood's Android app or the iPhone app

I used to use Money Lover for a while but at the point of managing credit cards it wasn't good enough for this job, so i moved to Wallet it's pretty nice and easy to use, i liked how it manage my all accounts with perfect reporting and filtering for the expenses and incomes

waaaaait.. wait. You seem to be new here, so be careful.
Dropbit seems to be a custodial service so they keep your Bitcoin in "safe storage" just like banks keep your money. You don't really own those Bitcoins while they are in that storage. If you think leaving your money with some company is a good idea, then you probably should stick with ordinary banks and fiat money, because they have all the legal framework, insurance, bailouts etc, that Bitcoin doesn't have. The problem with custodial services is that they can take your money any time they want. Simply by saying it's not really "yours" anymore. With Bitcoin it's the first time in the history where we can have really our digital money, really in our hands and under our sole control. But that applies only to non-custodial wallets.
So try GreenBits, Mycelium, or this Bitcoin Wallet, make a backup of the private key and enjoy. Surrendering your bitcoins to a third party service for a lousy "share-by-sms" feature is a high price to pay.
Wallet https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droid4you.application.wallet Linking is optional. Free version is ok, with limited number of accounts. Very good development, there even is webapp that's gaining functionality similar to the app. I've been using it for about 2 years now, suits my all needs.
There's a free version that I used for months, but recently picked up the paid one (one time unlock fee of $5.49) because I wanted the PC editing feature.
It's really not something you can compare to something like Mint in the US or Pocketsmith, but in app form, its really good if you like to log your expenses yourself. Some features that I liked were:
budgeting by category, and shows current month's status vs budget.
auto renew recurring expenses (Netflix/Gym etc)
Can split payment type by specific bank/debit/credit card if you take the time to set it up (Highly recommended)
Reminders of when credit card bills are due and what amount.
CSV extract so you can do some charts/graphs etc on PC if you prefer, but the app also has a beautiful pie chart breakdown of expenses by categories.
Go for the free version, play store link is here.
Wallet is the best!

RBI has banned all cryptocurrency entities in India & asked to cease all operations within 3 months
Don't use Unocoin. Instead use localbitcoins or download Bitcoin app. You only need bitcoin address to send/receive bitcoin money. Make sure you backup wallet - otherwise you may lose all bitcoins
Coinomi has had support for LCC since version 1.8.2, which you can get right now on Google Play.
However exchanging LCC for other coins will depend on our exchange partners (Shapeshift/Changelly) supporting it, as we don't do the exchanges ourselves. LCC is not yet supported by either of them.

I used to keep track of all my purchases but I stopped. I wish I hadn't though because I have no idea when I bought stuff, even sifting through my bank statement I can't find stuff.
On a related note does anyone know a good free budgeting program? I've been using wallet on my phone but I think I need something PC based.
I have a Ledger Nano S, it's nice. But, it's a pain if you buy more than a couple of other cryptos or if you need access to your funds often and easily. It's the most secure, though. Good for using as a "bank" of sorts.
I keep a little money in Coinomi on my phone for spending. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coinomi.wallet

download this wallet if u havent already and i'll send u some verge. u can pay me back in $20 worth of ETH later.
Deal?
Recently my transaction took 3 hours, and the fee was already pretty high. I have no idea what this chart says.
So, thanks for standing up for us noobs. I use this wallet app by the way.
If you look at their app store page, it shows it's been updated today and mentions 'custom fee' in the 'what's new' section:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycelium.wallet&hl=en
If you went through the Coinomi Website , you are probably good. They also have a link to the Google Play store.
Try restoring with Bitcoin Wallet (Android, BlackBerry OS). Its backup files are base64 encoded. You will need a backup password though, because it's also encrypted.
I'd recommend the granddaddy of mobile wallets, unimaginatively named Bitcoin Wallet, but I don't think it lets you track watch-only addresses, so maybe that's not what you need here.
Yes, and it's a very good idea to get your own wallet and transfer your coin to it ASAP. You want a wallet where you are the only one with the private key.
I personally use Mycelium.
Canada here. Was able to add my PC financial MasterCard. ACU MasterCard and my debit card didn't get accepted. I went to this link to download the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel
I use My Stocks Portfolio which has a pretty good widget. Jstock is indeed superior but I prefer the concise layout of this one.
It's most likely a wallet backup of Bitcoin Wallet, the most popular mobile wallet.
Copy the file to /sdcard/Download/ and use Options > Safety > Restore wallet. You'll need your backup password though.
If you have an Android phone, I suggest
for your spending money. The main reason is with Bitcoin Wallet you can pay even if your phone is offline, using the "payment protocol" via Bluetooth. When you've got Internet access, e.g. at your hotel room, you can swipe paper wallets into your Bitcoin Wallet as needed.
circle and coinbase are fine for buying bitcoins.. the important thing is to withdraw them and not leave them in their wallet.. it's like if your salary was paid into an uninsured bank - you want to withdraw the cash as soon as you're paid.
Install a wallet on your phone like mycelium and withdraw the BTC there.. then send them to whomever you need to pay from there. Coinbase and circle have a bad habbit of randomly asking intrusive questions you may not want to answer.. it's easier to just ignore them if they aren't holding your money.
