Rock it buddy! I can't wait to get home and get the rest of your DogeCoin Bills (wallets) printed.
Here's the link to see the wallets: http://imgur.com/a/mdzkM
EDIT 2: Here are the final wallets I'm sending to you! https://imgur.com/a/hahF6
https://cryptowat.ch/correlations
They are coorelated to bitcoin and etherium.. because they have futures valves other cryptos do not have.. and all together they act like an index/sector.. and each one has a weight in the index.. unfortunately this index is rather small and its easy to see simularities.. this happen on all indexes.. and its how companies that arent worth 1t dollars end up being worth 1 trillion dollars.. market fluff. And the more indexes your stock is listed on... the more market fluff your stonk gets.. yeah its manipulated.. step 1 is understanding its manipulated.. 2 is how its manipulated.. 3 is where the money is going next as they rotate money in the market..
Just more tips for your wallets.
Dogecoin Wallet
So where are you going to keep this wonderful Dogecoin of yours? The safest place to keep your dogecoin is in a desktop wallet. You can easily obtain a desktop wallet from Dogecoin.com. Just choose the Operating system you currently have and you are ready to receive and send your Dogecoins.
Security
This is the serious section, so listen close. Dogecoin is a fun currency, but this is still a currency. This means that people will try to take your precious Dogecoins from you. BUT FEAR NOT! You can do things to safeguard your Dogecoins. First things first, ENCRYPT YOUR WALLET! Create a password that has never been used ever and make sure you never forget it. If you do forget it, then you lose access to your wallet forever. After this, please make sure to backup your wallet to a usb drive. This backup allows you to gain access to your wallet if you happen to damage your hard drive or computer in some way. A more in-depth explanation about security can be found here. http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/1xgfmt/eli5_version_of_how_the_average_shibe_can_safely/
same... when I started investing I realized I suddenly loved waking up stupid early to watch the market flow. Though tbh with the bs RH is pulling it's scary monday mornings lmao at least it doesn't affect crypto but shiiiiit.
Welcome! Dogecoin is the future of money and it's going to take us to the moon!
You can read a little about it here: http://dogecoin.com/
You can buy dogecoin at an exchange like http://prelude.io/ or you can get some by participating here on Reddit and receiving tips. Here's your first dogecoin:

Could you maybe in your spare time take one of them apart and post a good quality picture of the electronics inside (both sides)? Something like this http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPhone+5s+Teardown/17383#s52342 so the chips and manufacturing processes can be identified. That could give some light on who are we dealing here with and how "in danger" is dogecoin from the threat of such ASICs. That would be great.
No offense, but Coinbase is amazing, and his reply was very professional (Blake if you're reading this -- cheers!).
Dealing with that amount of volume in coins, hacking attempts, etc -- not to mention the FinCEN/regulatory hurdles they had to jump through to get off the ground in the US. Plus, ya know, not having this little problem that MtGox did...
Saying they're facing "a competitor" in the future? If I were Coinbase, I wouldn't be worried at all.
Remember shibes, you deal with USD, you deal with FinCEN. And you do NOT want to fuck with them.
EDIT: Also coinbase when you're ready i'd love for you to be my go-to DOGE broker. ;)
Things I have so far (about 10 minutes work, and some more time on writeup)...
Easy suggestions:
Beyond all that, I presume I don't have to tell you that when live, you should keep the bulk of coins offline (in cold store), do I?
You are incorrect, it is not.
http://nmap.org/book/legal-issues.html
>After all, no United States federal laws explicitly criminalize port scanning. A much more frequent occurrence is that the target network will notice a scan and send a complaint to the network service provider where the scan initiated (your ISP). Most network administrators do not seem to care or notice the many scans bouncing off their networks daily, but a few complain.
Either is fine, though "much excite" is of course the more correct way. :-)
Regarding your question.....
I think most people just use the full official client.
I also use the Android "Dogecoin wallet" app and carry some coins around on that which I mostly give out to friends, colleagues and random people.
If you want a thin client then I hear that Multidoge is a good one, though I haven't tried it myself.
I see you had some bad experiences on /r/bitcoin despite doing some great work. Shame to see that, but I'm honestly not too surprised. Here is a totally different atmosphere where we care a lot less about the price (1 doge = 1 doge) and more about having fun and getting people to actually use dogecoin rather than just hoarding it hoping for the price to go up. That's also why most people agreed that it was better to have 5B new coins added every year forever rather than a cap.
It's definitely more fun, friendly and helpful here. I have both bitcoin and dogecoin, but I care much more about dogecoin. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask! It's always allowed to ask basic questions here, not just on certain days ;-).
And don't be afraid to tip people here and spread the wealth. Even the 5 doge minimum tip is fine here. So just leave a small tip if you see something you like. It is nice for the receiver and hopefully you'll find that it's nice to give a tip too. I think the tipping is why we're all so happy here!

I hope you will use this to tip other shibes, but of course you can do whatever you want with it. Have fun and hope you enjoy the ride with us to the moo^o^o^n!!!! :-)
Can someone confirm this please?

It's not just Paypal -- according to Mega it was Visa and Mastercard that pressured Paypal to cut payment processing support for Mega, after they did so themselves under US government pressure. Plus this declaration that Dotcom is a "fugitive" according to the US and his assets subject to forfeiture...
Seems like Mega is trying to do the right thing, and honestly I was figuring it was only a matter of time before the "we're accepting Bitcoin" announcement would come out.
Can you link to an online statement from Dotcom or Mega saying specifically that they'll be using it? So far all I've seen are suggestions and hints.
Simple, the people who bought $DOGE will tell you every positive fact, thought, news or rumor there is for you to buy it so it will pump. The people who didn't, will tell you all the negative arguments for you to not buy or even sell. $DOGE coin is nothing more than what it really is: it's us making it valuable. Us proving we have the will, resilience, guts, or even the dream of making something of our own BIG, IMPORTANT, VALUABLE. That is the bottomline, it's an honest movement of dreamers who dare to say "we too can create something big". Stay strong no matter what, or how long. Lets get to $2 #dogestrong

The reality is that the Chinese speculators have gone off Doge. I'm tired of this "community" circlejerking, like we can somehow influence the price by "not dumping" when we are mere peons.
Don't hardlink to the wallet, just link to http://dogecoin.com That way when a new wallet is released you aren't making people download the outdated wallet. http://doge.wf/ did this too and is currently linking people to the 1.1 qt-wallet.

The influence of short sellers is overestimated.
The market is mainly driven by sentiment. Currently people are fearful, this is why the good news don't have the usual impact. But sentiment is already getting more optimistic.
> they wouldn't have released 2 wallets in a row that lose transactions, orphan blocks and cause hard forks. I don't know of any other coin that has a history of releasing one buggy wallet after another, or having this many wallet updates in such a short period of time.
bitcoin comes to mind. :) or did we forget about this: https://bitcoin.org/en/alert/2013-03-11-chain-fork
hehe.
also, bitcoin and litecoin are smalltime -- the dogecoin network is pushing massive volume, the type of txs that bitcoin and litecoin would be jealous of. we're essentially the stress test network. :)
the more devs that are looking to work on serious crypto involved, the better. send em over to github. BTC/LTC is amateur hour at this point -- dogecoin dev is where cutting edge shit will be taking place :)
Just saying, I don't think it is well known that the android wallet uses the same "simplified payment verification" mechanism that this new wallet does. It is a nice trick outlined in the original design paper on Bitcoin.

There is a voting out there to decide - if dogeparty should use "Proof of Burn" or "Proof of charity": https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/dogeparty_issuance_method
I am all for "Proof Of Charity" ... maybe not burning the coins dilutes the value of doge a bit ... but hey - on which occasion did this community hesitated when its for a good cause?!?
"Proof of Charity" is the spirit to go for dogeparty. We want to create something for a better future. We want to be excellent. Doing it the Doge way.
So lets vote "Proof of Charity" - pls.
Nodes running latest update have gone from 25.5% to 26.3% in the last twoish hours up from arbor 23% this morning nice job everyone.
Remember nodes are community based ways to speed up and decentralize the network
We need 30% for fee reduction
https://blockchair.com/dogecoin/nodes
I might have this backwards but please only do a node if you can commit to running it at least 6 hours a day. If I’m wrong please correct me
Nodes running latest update have gone from about 23% this morning to 25.5%
Someone stated we need 30% for fee reduction to go into place if that’s the case we’re almost there
If we had 1000 fresh nodes running we could probably help accelerate the transaction fee drop. Here is the current node situation, we need about 50% at 1.14.4.
Remember to upgrade Dogecoin Core to 1.14.4 - it depends on each one of us when the new low fees will come into effect. You can follow the progress here:
https://blockchair.com/dogecoin/nodes
Once the number of 1.14.4 surpasses 1.14.3, and miners accept the lower fees, it means we are prepared to relay low fees and we will be able to release 1.14.5 thus activating the change.
No you own the coins, Robinhood is the ones that hold them.
“We don’t currently provide you with access to your wallet or your wallet address.
You own the cryptocurrency assets in your account, and you can buy or sell them at any time. We’re evaluating features to allow you to safely transfer coins to and from Robinhood, and we’ll update you when these features are available.” Link
why are you all buying off of robinhood? go to a place like www.kraken.com and buy your crypto. you can use fiat or use bitcoin, eth, etc to buy your Dogecoin. This way you hold your own private keys. with RH they hold your keys, thus they hold your asset.
I buy my Dogecoin from www.kraken.com this way you hold and own your own crypto. Through robinhood they own your private keys. Take the time to open an account with kraken and buy it there. A huge number of cryptos are available on kraken

Well, that's just for a reddit wallet.
Some Shibes keep large amounts on it, as /u/mohland has a very secure storage method, but access to the coins is based on how strong your reddit password is.
Here's a link to where you can get such wallets.
Online wallets are the most convenient and easily accessible, however, the services have been hacked in the past.
To initially generate the currency, people use their computers to solve complex algorithms (called mining). This mining process is very slow for a single person, so people network their computing power together in groups called pools, which then collectively work on the problems and solve them much faster. Each pool works on a single 'block' and once solved, can give the entire pool 0-1,000,000 dogecoins, which are then split between each person in the pool depending on how much they contributed. On Valentines day the rewards for each block will halve, meaning each block will give out between 0-500,000 coins. This halving keeps happening as the total number of dogecoins goes up. We're still generating 0-1,000,000 coins per block because we're so new! This mining process also verifies and processes all the dogecoin transactions people make.
The other way people obtain dogecoins is either from people sending tips and people giving each other coins, or by purchasing it on one of the exchanges on the internet. At first the only way to buy was to purchase Bitcoin with USD and then exchange it for doge, but there are people setting up direct USD to doge exchanges too. I'm guessing that to donate to your group, the charity organizers are going to cash out the dogecoins on one of these exchanges.
The only thing you need to have dogecoins is to get a wallet! Clicking this link is a great guide for getting started. Once you have a wallet you can transfer over the dogecoin tips you've been getting in this thread and they'll be yours!
In Feb the Guardian was reporting, that Dogecoin is part of this: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/feb/25/japan-to-make-bitcoin-legal-currency
Can this still be confirmed? If so ... "Japan recognizes Dogecoin as money!" :D
The relevant Google ToS is:
https://wallet.google.com/legaldocument?family=0.buyertos&gl=US
>You may only use the Processing Service to process a Payment Transaction for a Product that is purchased from a Seller through a legitimate, bona fide sale of the Product. The Processing Service may not be used to process a Payment Transaction, or otherwise transfer money between a Buyer and Seller, that is unrelated to a purchase of a Product. The Processing Service may not be used to receive cash advances from Sellers or to facilitate the purchase of cash equivalents (travelers checks, prepaid cards, money orders, etc.). You may not use the Processing Service to purchase any illegal goods or services or for any other underlying illegal transaction.
Be careful with Paypal also. They have similar rules. In fact they can hold the rules of any associated electronic funds transfer network against you also.
https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full
>Use your Account or the PayPal Services in a manner that PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or any other electronic funds transfer network reasonably believes to be an abuse of the card system or a violation of card association or network rules;
The easiest way to contribute, honestly, is by mining. With Doge being the most profitable scrypt coin there is right now, we're at the mercy of multipools; which in turn leads to pump and dump shenanigans, which can devalue it as a currency. Not wow :(
You can contribute by mining, no matter how low a rate you mine at - and holding on to your doges. Or tip them. Or just do something nice with them. Add to Dev bounties, donate to doge-accepting charities, or visit the /r/dogePIF subreddit. Anything that's not pump and dump, and you're contributing.
If you really want to aid the community in dev projects - why not use doge as an incentive to start learning how to build your own projects? You can start learning at Codecademy - and you'll be building Doge apps and services before you know it.

Well, for me, myself, personally, I used shapeshift to switch between DOGE and BTC. Select the coin you want to deposit and receive, and put the receiving address in the righthand box. Then, click start. A screen should pop up with an address to deposit coins to shift. Send the coins to that address. Then just wait a minute, and the new coins should appear in the DOGE/BTC wallet (whichever you picked.)

Dogecoin is digital currency (much like Bitcoin) that can be used just like the dollar to purchase good and items, but we on /r/dogecoin love to tip people with it.
If you want to know how to get some dogecoin, well let me tell you:
I would recommend walking through the Getting Started Guide from the official site (dogecoin.com, which is being bogged down at the moment), it will walk you through a digital wallet and inform you how to acquire doge. It is written for people who have no prior knowledge to digital currency.
You can buy dogecoin via exchanges (Kraken, Vault of Satoshi, Prelude, Crpytsy) but not all of them support buying them with regular money (we call that fiat around here) so it takes a little bit of time to set up. But there are services like coinsachs.com where you buy dogecoin via paypal.
As for how to get your first coins and about tipping... well I will help you with that.
+/u/dogetipbot 500 doge verify
The tip I sent you is managed by /u/dogetipbot, which is a friendly bot we have set up that makes tipping on Reddit super easy. Once it gets to it (it can get bogged down sometimes due to the number of tips going back and forth) it'll send you a private message asking you if you'd like to accept the tip. If you tell it you accept the tip, it'll create a tipping wallet for you on here which you can use to tip other users. If you want to move the coins to another wallet (say you set up one on your own computer) it's got a Withdraw command that lets you do just that! Your "inbox" for private messages is up in the upper right hand corner and looks like a litte mail envelope. When you get a message, it'll turn red (here on /r/dogecoin it'll also have a doge which pops it's head up too!).
Step 1, download the dogecoin wallet to your computer. Get that up and running.
Then
Step 2. You buy bitcoin or litecoin on coinbase, or kraken, or your exchange of choice.
then Step 3. you shapeshift it into doge.
No, it's not very easy.
Yes, it's a bit of a pain unless you understand computers and crap.

Hi Christian here - DogeRain App developer.
We were working hard on the app to have it ready for the birthday party and the good news: It seems ready for another stress test :D
Lets make the birthday rain on 2pm San Francisco time - everybody world wide can join in.

It's a currency, not a stock. You own the coin, just at the moment robinhood doesnt have the support for crypto. If you own on RH all you can do is hold until they implement features or sell if you decide.

No, you'll have to download the blockchain from the last 11 weeks, but you'll be able to use doge in a few hours or more (depends of your internet connection really) I think there's a client which doesn't require downloading the whole blockchain, so you might want to use that if you don't have any coins already EDIT : here
Well, according to this page, BitCoin dropped by 17 percent while we dropped by 30 percent.
(Yes, I know it's market cap and not fiat value, but it is quite closely linked.)
Recommend downloading the dogecoin-qt core wallet client at http://dogecoin.com/, links for different OSs right there on the front. For holding a fundraising address, I'd recommend not sending any transactions with it until the fundraising is over (or else it will look shady), and also keeping the computer it's on offiline behind a locked door, once you have it set up. This is called cold storage and is the most secure way to hold a large amount of digital currency. When it's ready to be used, plug the computer back in to the internet. Transactions will still go through to your address while the wallet is offline, they will appear once it syncs back to up when it comes back online.
The other option is we could find a trusted 3rd party escrow to hold funds for you. They could convert it and send you traditional money once the fundraising effort is complete

My thoughts: Old shibas probably know most of the stuff there already. But imagine every new shiba that sees "dogecoin" on a NASCAR, googles it and goes to that page - you have getting started, by why should a new shiba get started if they don't even know what it is.

Good luck ! Leaving a full-time job to do your own can be scary at first, but if you study the market well and come up with a product that we want, I think you can do it ! Also, it's a bit too easy to get depressed working on your own, so you might want to meet people in tech meet-ups or join a shared working space. /r/startups and /r/entrepreneur will have more.
Edit: not sure if you were joking in the reply above. I mean lean in this sense, not in your lifestyle! Also, hackernews is a good community outside reddit for this sort of thing.
Really interesting discussion in the linked thread:

There are definitely viable arguments that can be made on both sides of the spectrum and it will be very interesting to see how things play out over the new few years. I do have to give the founders credit for staying focused on making this an active currency, not an investment get-rich scheme for early miners.
What's important about Huffington Post is that the readership is largely female. Compared to Bitcoin and Litecoin, we're much friendlier, and we have a better shot at reaching a mainstream audience. To reach the moon, we're going to need the other amazing half of our species!
Based on /u/TheMcShibe it would seem that it is not Motorola itself but instead an individual that created a news site and is 'soliciting' Dogecoin for the 'great' posts they make.
Also as /u/thatpartyguy pointed out, the forum link is a dummy that leads to www.test.com (WOT advises this site is dangerous, probably not the intention of the creator of this news site).
My fellow shibes! If I can make a suggestion, I would say to use LastPass to come up with obscure/impossible to guess passwords. There are also browser extensions that will auto-login to sites as you visit them if you so choose. So its far more secure (generating crazy passwords for every site) and extremely convenient!
Example pass I just generated: fg3uIe$Y&fI4tWt
wow much convenience so obscure very protected

Interesting point. I can't answer your question, but I just read that Bill Gates sees irreversability of Bitcoin transactions) as a weak point.

Q: Are you excited about the potential of Bitcoin in systems like these as a way to keep fees low and have the system work robustly in the global sense?
A: "There’s a lot that Bitcoin or Ripple and variants can do to make moving money between countries easier and getting fees down pretty dramatically. But Bitcoin won’t be the dominant system. When you talk about a domestic economy, [you must have] the idea of attributed transactions, where if you sent it to the wrong person you can actually get the transaction reversed. [And a traditional system] doesn’t have this huge fluctuation where the value of your account is going up and down by a factor of two. We need things that draw on the revolution of Bitcoin, but Bitcoin alone is not good enough."
Well, considering the potential it's not that bad of a risk even if it doesn't pan out. I don't know though, this feels like its much more than just a simple altcoin. The internet has a chance at having something that not only feels tangible, but there's a cultural element attached to it also. People are already referring to the Dogecoin as the upvote of the internet, wanting places like Reddit, Facebook, YouTube, and Wikipedia to adopt the standard. Most importantly the Dogecoin community is nice, they make it accessible, and it's fun. I'm seeing posts like this constantly all over the net, it's a great sign that the currency is being adopted. Then there's people innovating things for the currency as well.
With bitcoin being adopted by Overstock.com and other corporate entities likely to follow, the only direction for digital currency as a whole is up. I see big things for Dogecoin as it rides that wave, so I'm holding on.

>>At this time, we don't have the functionality to allow customers to transfer their cryptocurrency assets into or out of their Robinhood Crypto account, but we’re currently working on providing those abilities for supported cryptocurrencies.
https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/cryptocurrency-transfers-and-deposits/
First find a company that works for you. I chose Fidelity. Open a brokerage account.
Then begin the transfer by following these instructions (https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/transfer-stocks-out-of-your-robinhood-account/).
I would ask your new brokerage company to assist you as well. Do note there is a $75 fee to transfer your stocks from Robinhood.

I'll will answer some of these questions for /u/dogeqrcode, if it is ok :)
Yes there's a sub, /r/BitGamerDotTV but there have been not much activity, since we are not so many people right now.
There's no need to sign up to tip or comment, you click a button and it opens your local wallet and ask for confirmation (you can change the amount) and the doge will be delivered and shown in the website. Unregistered users will be named as GuestXXX in the chat.
To stream it is easy to sign up, a regular form and an email verification will get you ready. Bitgamer support most streaming software since it's a regular rtmp address, so there shouldn't be much trouble. I use Open Breadcaster Software (OBS) and it works great. I also haven't seen any limitations when it comes to streaming content, but I guess adult stuff is not allowed.
Yes there are some fees right now, but only for the tip withdrawals. ~~I think it was around 30%?~~ It is 10%, fixed.
There is a small how-to about configuring OBS that is shown when you are ready to broadcast, and most users will be happy to help setting it up, both on reddit and on the live chat.
About security, all the transactions are done with the block.io api, so they should be secure enough. I haven't had any problem, besides some totally understandable bugs that /u/dogeqrcode is always eager to fix (he even tend to tip extra for telling him).
If you want to check it out, I will be streaming some Gimp in a while, showing a user how to put doge faces on pics with the "doge-ball" topic, here. :)
EDIT: fixed the withdraw fee.
You use your cpu and gpu to help "fold a protein" which in turns help scientists to complete their research faster.
It allows the researchers access to more processing power by sending individual tasks to different computers around the world.
You also earn DogeCoin each week based on your portion of the work.
For more info check out the website.
A fast and convenient service like shapeshift.io makes it so anywhere that accepts Bitcoin accepts Ðogecoin. You still have to convert your coins, but by using crypto you promote it and let retailers know there is a demand to use it. I always like to ask if a business accepts Ðogecoin (if not that, Bitcoin) nonchalantly to hopefully perk up some eyebrows. This coin is a good store of value, and this community is very positive. They're likely very interrelated. It is a new frontier very much worth being part of. If not all that, just come for the lulz.
+/u/dogetipbot 100 doge
I mean, it's a great project. But the second some one actually has any success with their website, and loading your ads - you're going to pay out your nose!
Well, at least you'll be paying with USD.
There is a company, I believe they accept BTC: https://a-ads.com/
Price is dropping because people can't buy but people are panic selling. Coinbase and Binance had an outage. RH is a bitch. I bought another 30k on Bittrex. Get on UpHold if you need to buy coins. LET'S GO PEOPLE! This rocket ain't gonna land itself!
Well it would definitely cause the price to rise (if all purchased at once), however the amount that it will rise and for how long will not be predictable. DogeCoin is worth 32 million dollars! $87 000 whilst it may seem like a lot, it is really just a drop in the bucket.
The things I dislike about Kraken as a user on the verge of signing up for the site:
Good points I can find:
All said, I signed up with Vircurex and it feels more right, subjectively.
