Sure, I'll look into it and give you some links. Meanwhile, if you have an account with any Indian Bank and ur Mobile number is linked and you have a debit card, you can try and understand UPI using BHIM app. It's very simple and self explanatory. Also these are the basics of UPI.

UPI Lite has been launched recently where it allows to setup a wallet within the UPI app and pay from that wallet instead of the linked bank account.
Wallet can be loaded via the linked bank account using UPI PIN upto ₹2000 (as of now)
Max limit of one UPI LITE transaction is ₹200 (as of now)
Payments through UPI LITE wallet work similar to normal UPI transaction by scanning QR just DONT need UPI PIN (so you dont have to share the UPI PIN, just keep it to yourself while you load the wallet for your kid, they just need to select the wallet instead of the bank account while paying and by default wallet is selected if transaction value is <200)
Wallet balance can be unloaded anytime to the bank account which loaded it
As of now, this only works in BHIM app, others will add it later
Yeah! UPI is just like a mobile number, with no telecom restriction.
Any upi app user can send to any other app user. All you'd need to share if your UPI ID or even most apps allow the UPI ID to be the phone number like 9998887776@upi etc.
For convenience, I'd suggest to simply delete all accounts & download BHIM. Works the best everywhere.
3, 4 . Is eliminated as the whole USP of BHIM is (send money to contacts or phone numbers) , no need to know account and ifsc .
From Bhim APP
>How does it work?
> Register your bank account with BHIM, & set a UPI PIN for the bank account. Your mobile number is your Payment Address, & you can simply start transacting. Yes! It is that simple.

Just another UPI app.
The way I got it was Right Click on OP's link and copy it (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.org.npci.upiapp&rdid=in.org.npci.upiapp) then I went to http://goqr.me/ Pasted that in the text box, and scan that with my Camera App. MIUI's camera app itself reads QR also (which is really cool of them TBH) and then Voila. :)
Thanks.
